I had my Subaru Forester in today for an inspection related to the AC unit. I received some very thorough and thoughtful advice to check with the dealer on issues already reported for this specific build. I am very impressed with the knowledge and also customer service. I will come back here for sure.

I came to Courtesy by way of a friends recommendation and I am glad that I did! I have a 1990 Land Cruiser, so parts are not always easy to come by. Courtesy Auto treats keeping my 31 years old rig on the road, and running like new, as being as important to them as it is to me. They fully explain any work needed and hunt down any parts that cant be ordered. I appreciate their honesty, thoroughness, and professionalism.

I have used Courtesy Auto Care for over 20 years with these cars: 97 Dodge Caravan, 2000 Ford Explorer. 2009 Rav4, 2012 Camry, 2012 Prius C, 2019 Highlander. I have complete faith in their work. I checked their prices against other dealers/ shops. They are high quality for a fair price. They have always completed the work when promised. They have taken good care of all my families cars honestly. (aka pf)

This shop came with the recommendation of my partner, so when my vehicle got totaled and I needed to buy a used vehicle, I brought it here to get checked out. They looked it over and compiled very detailed documentation including estimates for everything they found. This gave me leverage in purchasing the vehicle from a used car dealership, who ultimately signed a written agreement to fix several of the major issues as part of the purchase. After over a month of this sleazy dealership repairing the vehicle, I brought it back here and Courtesy was able to prove that the dealership had straight up lied about replacing certain parts that clearly had not been replaced, that they had replaced parts that likely werent necessary, and that they even installed spark plug wires from the wrong vehicle which did not fit right. Armed with this new documentation, I was able to call the dealership on their bull and they bought the vehicle back including compensating me for the fees I paid courtesy. All of the work Courtesy did was timely and fairly priced.

They charged $400 for a compression test on a old 4 cylinder Nissan! Takes about 30 minutes.... then another 200 for diagnosis and didnt figure anything out.. single women beware they will prey on you not knowing anything about cars.

Amazing and friendly service! I brought my truck to them when the starter suddenly went out. They treated me with such a friendly and respectful customer service demeanor as they swiftly fixed my truck I was amazed! Their prices were fair and they made sure that I was notified of any changes/charges that needed to happen to the repair as well. Definitely keeping their number for future repair needs.

Never been there for service, but just had a sales agent come through my neighborhood and knock on my door, not wearing a mask - in the middle of a pandemic. I’m not sure why they think that’s a good idea, but it’s a sign of how they do business, I’d avoid!

I love these guys! I was referred to them by a friend, several years ago. I always take my little Toyota pickup to them. I feel well treated, dealt with fairly, and know that I can trust the work they do. Chris is kind and patient and clearly answers all my questions. You cant go wrong with Courtesy!

We took our cars to Courtesy Auto the seven years we lived in Portland for oil changes and mechanical work. We felt that we were a priority at Courtesy Auto and that our cars were in good hands. When a car was in the shop I appreciated the phone call(s) to update us on any recommended changes and to let us know when the car would be ready for pick up. Our cars are 17 and 15 years old and both still running well.

Beware,I went to these guys, and they are friendly enough. But they tried way over charging me for something that did not need to be fixed. I wanted to say more something more positive, cause when they did my belt they did a great job. But trying to charge me well over $1000 for something that didnt need to be done was poor service.

I was very happy with the service I received here. Although I was hesitant to take our car to a non-dealer at first, a recommendation from a friend and assurances from Chris that they worked on many Subarus convinced me to give Courtesy a try. Our car had a warm-start issue that I assumed - up until then - the local dealership could solve. After several months had gone by, and the dealership had failed to solve it after multiple attempts, I was told that my only course of action was to drive our car until it wouldnt start at all. But this is our familys primary passenger vehicle, so you can imagine how inconvenient this information was. That treatment led me to seek better service elsewhere. Chris made a good impression with me in our initial phone conversation, and made it clear that although it might take them a while to diagnose the issue, they would eventually find and repair it. In the end, I left our car with Courtesy for a day. After having been told on so many prior occasions that there was nothing wrong with our car, much was my elation when Chris called me later that morning to tell me they could replicate the issue and knew exactly what needed to be replaced. Its now been almost two months since the repair, and we havent had that problem return. I will definitely consider Courtesy for future diagnosis and repair of our Subaru and want to thank Chris and his staff for putting the customer first and being the ones to finally solve this tenacious problem.

Took a car in for a pre-purchase vehicle inspection.Very thorough inspection and walked me through the few known issues. This particular visit was worth every penny. This is a shop that does repairs correctly using factory parts and that,my friends, can and will increase repair costs.Fixing cars is becoming increasingly complex as it relates to onboard computers and diagnostics. If one is upset about diagnostic costs and repairs maybe you should have kept that 1983 Volvo. This is a good, honest and fair business. Will I recommend them to others? Yes and I have. Will I use them again....the answer is yes.Dont authorize repairs if youre not willing to pay the bill.

My experience with Courtesy Auto Care has been excellent. I feel confident about taking both my cars there. The most memorable experience is when one car had an intermittent no-start problem that went on for a couple of months (requiring multiple AAA tows) that stymied both the dealership (in Portland) and an auto shop in Albany (when it wouldnt start while I was down there). After some investigation, Jeff at Courtesy was able to track down the problem to a shorted (and damaged) ECU that had melted some wiring, and then correct the problem. Not a cheap repair, but since I was seriously considering getting rid of the car because it had become unreliable, the repair was nonetheless very welcome. Still driving the car, with no further starting issues since. The folks at Courtesy have always been reliable about promptly letting me know if any issues show up during other repairs, and about identifying what needs to be fixed immediately and what can wait a bit.

These guys did a great job for me. My battery had been losing its charge and I was having a problem with overheating when I would let the engine run to recharge it. I also mentioned that my a/c had not been working very well this summer and though I might need a recharge. After checking everything out they told me that the battery was bad as was the fan that cooled the radiator. There was no problem with my charging system and the weak a/c was part of the cooling problem. They mentioned that my radiator was showing some corrosion and might need to be replaced soon, and let me know that most of the labor involved with replacing it was currently being done for the fan, and that I would save about $100 in labor costs by doing it now. I really appreciate the fact that Courtesy told me only what I needed and gave me the option to save some money on future repairs. I was relieved that my charging system and a/c didnt need any attention, and after checking prices for parts, I feel that I was charged reasonably for the battery, fan assembly, and radiator.

So around six and half months ago I went here because my breaks sounded pretty bad. They said I need new ones, I believed them and payed four hundred something dollars for new breaks. Now, I had to take my car to the Toyota dealership because of a recall and also explained how my steering wheel shook every time I would break on the freeway. That was also the same thing I told courtesy auto care and thats when they said I needed new breaks. Now Toyota says I need new breaks AGAIN except I believe the Toyota dealership because I knew probably a month after paying for my first new breaks that the problem was not fixed and I did not receive the full service I paid a lot of money for. I dont trust these guys, I really wanted too but now Im pissed and Im going to go there in person to set this straight. They should be paying for my the new breaks. Im never ever going here again. Grumpy old crooks.

Incorrectly reported the mileage on my car when I got some work done. Vehicle only had 65,000 miles on it, they reported 111,000. Now its on my Carfax and they claim there is nothing they can do about it. Beware of these guys and double check the mileage they put on your work order. I even showed them all of the previous oil changes with the mileage before and after visiting them recorded clearly indicating they were at fault.
