I had a wonderful experience with the folks at Third Eye Bag. They have a really great selection of literature for anyone interested in Black History and Revolutionary thought. I ended up purchasing Assata’s autobiography which literally changed my life as well as a few other books. The lady at the front desk was super nice and made the process of ordering a book really easy and simple. This is a great store and it will absolutely be worth your time to check it out and further educate your self through reading!

Wonderful little bookstore right on(ish) Division in a little house-converted-to-bookstore just kitty-corner to Salt and Straw! They have books for all ages, I brought my 5-year-old and she found a new favorite book and got to pick out two for her big brothers as well. I found a few books that I had heard about in some recent podcasts and been looking for, but the owners are well versed on everything in the store and are able to offer great recommendations. Highly recommend!

Michelle and Charles are wonderful. Chatted with Michelle for awhile and her energy just makes the store shine. While the space is currently too small to hold all of the books theyd like, they work hard to make sure that any book can be ordered that you may need. Absolutely stop by or shop online. Normally I have to pick through bookstores to find something close to what Im looking for but Third Eye had everything that my partner and I wanted and more. Third Eye is now the first place I check for books. I have been extremely impressed with all aspects of my orders with them. The website is easy to navigate. It’s true that you can almost always find books cheaper on Amazon than local bookstores- and that doesn’t mean it’s the right choice. Did some internet research to find an independent, BIPOC owned bookstore. Could not have been more delighted to stumble upon these folks in my search. Nearly every item I wanted was in stock and arrived within days. They update social media frequently with stock updates so it’s easy to pop back online and place another order when you can see they have what you want back in stock. Two items I also wanted they emailed to say it would ship direct from the publisher since they didn’t have on hand. Easy website to navigate, many online payment options, and great customer service. I promise you, you can not order books from Amazon; you will be fine! Save independent bookstores!
