Great, very Portland neighborhood book shop. Excellent array of serious art and cultural history texts. Superb poetry section.Always lots of sale books at awesome low prices. Make sure to wander about! Sidewalk sale bins offer amazing finds in all genres at admirably low prices. Go, Buy, Read!
This is an outstanding small bookshop, stocked to the brim full of readable, relevant and rare fiction and non-fiction books. Friendly service awaits too. Highly recommended.
Belmont Books is one of my favorite books stores in Portland. Super friendly owner and staff, well stocked books, and very good prices! You can also order new books through them! I could spend a long time browsing all the shelves. They often have an outside book sale for even better deals. Highly recommend checking out this little shop if youre in the area.
These people are so great! Fun little store with lots of unique finds. Check out their instagram page for daily postings and dont be afraid to shoot them a message if youre looking for anything in particular~
I arrived at its corner entry precovid and thinking back to it, I hope it has survived it well. My name is Roger Browning and I am a writer. This I remember as it was somewhat a blustery day, but the warmth of it inviting. I spent a couple of hours pouring over its shelves, hoping to find a lost Hemingway, with an autographed page. No luck, but oh what great time and the person there so helpful and kind. Please support your local independent bookstore. They are important more than you might think. My name is Roger Browning and my book is, The Reckoning of Rance, currently available at Amazon.
Great little used bookstore with lots of interesting selections, fiction and non-fiction in many subjects, and good prices!
Great book store with an excellent and quickly rotating stock of books. Worth frequent visits
I love Belmont Books. Everything about this place makes me happy. You should support them. Even if its just a few bucks for a book every week or so. The staff is great, the selection is excellent, the customer service is warm and comfortable. This is the kind of place where readers can just come and chill. Its a readers playground. Cant recommend it enough.
Wonderful shop. Nice selection. Knowledgeable oww.👍👍
Best bookshop in Portland. Great new and used selection. The owner knows his stuff. A treasure on Belmont.

Small shop but great selection. Joe does a great job curating interesting reads, his recommendations are fantastic. I always walk out with an armful of rare gems. Dont miss this shop.
Great deals here! Support your local book shop :)
What an awesome store! Super fair prices on both used and new books and an awesome collection of human curated books and zines, including many local presses and authors. Don’t miss it! Really helpful and friendly owner/staff.
I love little eclectic bookstores filled with rare treasures. Belmont Bookstore is exactly that. It isfilled floor to ceiling with an excellent collection of books on a wide variety of topics. Emphasis is on smart and unusual. I walked out with the cookbook from the Rector Hotel and a study on ritual regulation of agriculture in the New Guinea highlands.
Friendly service and excellent book selection with tons of unique finds!
Great selection of unique books. The owner is really passionate about his selection and is a wealth of knowledge. Also a hilarious guy when you meet him!
Such friendly help, left with a really good book and recommendations for other titles.
The least expensive and most lovely little book store! They have so many good books.
Great shop. One of the best bookstores in Portland. A destination, for sure.
Love the curated selection. I walked away with an armload of great finds I’ve never seen in other stores including: The Hustler by Walter Tevis, Last Summer by Evan Hunter, Steps by Jerzy Kosinski, and a vintage A Confederacy of Dunces by John Kennedy Toole. In fact all were vintage paperbacks.
Sweet lil bookstore. Great selection, including sci-fi!
Great selection and great prices as well as fantastic service!!!!
Small, but cozy and very moderately priced specimens.
Great little book store!
Always my go too!
Love!!!!
