I purchased a bike from RecumbentPdx. The whole experience was very positive. On going in, I was ready for the bike experience, thinking that I knew enough and all I had to do was start riding. Its been 25 years since I rode a two wheeler. Janet and Mel were prepared to take the time necessary to help me understand the differences between two wheel and three wheel. This was truly great, on leaving, I was prepared for some more learning experience while I applied the ideas that Janet and Mel shared with me, and I watched for those possible safety hazards that are unique to three wheelers.

My wife didnt learn to ride a bicycle as a child and wasnt confident riding her regular bike on city streets. The staff was very helpful in helping her test different recumbent bike options and select the best one for her needs, and spent the time to ensure it was well fitted for her. I even took my first spin in a recumbent, and was surprised at how much I liked it. I highly recommend this family-owned shop.

I have know owned my Catrike 559 for about 9 months. Purchased it from Recumbent PDX last December. Upgraded it early this year with the Bosch electric assist. It is rare in our society that one can state that the experience of doing the research, talking with Mel about the right bike for me, going for a test ride, purchasing the trike, upgrading the trike and ENJOYING the trike has been so spectacularly wonderful. The folks at Recumbent PDX are special. I have never been so happy about a purchase. I am riding many times a week, with a smile the whole time. BTW. The electric assist actually challenges me to ride faster and harder. I get a better workout with the Bosch electric assist. Don’t waste your time doing the research about what to get, just go to Recumbent PDX and you will be totally satisfied

I live in Montana and decided to drive all the way to Portland (nearest dealer) for my Cattrike Trail after much research. I was able to make an appointment during off-hours and the the staff was friendly and helpful in accommodating my travel schedule.Once at the shop, they gave me the time to test drive the trike and went over all the possible options to make sure I was comfortable with the purchase. They customized the bike to my physical needs, including altering it for hilly terrain, coached me on how safety issues, and a couple days later I was back on the road with a new bright-yellow trike.I waited to write this review until now (4 months from purchase) so that I had a chance to ride the trike around and see how things held up. Im happy to say the set-up I have has been great and I love being the only one in my town with a trike. I just hit 50 and pedal around town with a grin on my face like I did when I was tearing up the neighborhood on my Big Wheel as a kid. Something about that big bright flag on the tike and the wide-eyed smiles I get as a ride by kids makes me feel 40 years younger. All that said, while this trike is so-much-more comfortable than a traditional bike (whose seats always caused me discomfort) this is still a mechanical device and it takes physical effort. Consider adding an electric assist if you want to to ease your journey. This shop is well worth the visit and I highly recommend for anyone interested in a Trike. They wont steer you wrong :-)

Bought a Catrike Expedition about a month ago from these guys and am very happy with the purchase. It works great and I got a good price. Since I am from the east side of Washington, we have real problems with tire punctures due to thorns, and without my even asking for it, they installed puncture-resistant tubes on my bike. Just today, I plucked out about 10 thorns during my ride, but did not lose any air. Am very grateful.

They teach you all you need to know about the trikes and make sure you are comfortable before going out on a test ride. They work with you to modify the trike so that the trike fits you perfectly. We really appreciated the nearly three hours of test riding different trikes with Janet and Paul. We never felt any pressure and all of our questions were answered by either Mel, Janet, or Paul. My wife Janet and best friend Lisa visted PDX in August of this year. We went exploring with the idea that a recumbant would be my next bicycle. I had never been on one yet wanted to know more. The proprietor, Janet worked with the three of us detailing how the units worked. She went over safety features including the how toos, and what nots. Then she sized us according to what features sounded right. I was easy but my wife sought comfort. She wanted neck and seat comfort. Janet lined us up and gave us a ride on the cat trikes. What a blast! We had to stop and console my wife. She cried because she felt liberated. It was a moment i will never forget. We rode 2 hours, were not tired, and enjoyed each moment. We plan to go back soon to get trikes, see Janet and her husband again, and tell everyone that this is the place to go. They love seeing you happy and they scurry to see you off safe and having and enjoyable time. Janet, you gave us a great memory and a future with two of your trikes. All the best,Greg, Janet, and Lisa.

My husband and I traveled to Portland from Southern Oregon in October, 2020 for an appointment at RecumbentPDX to educate ourselves about the best trike for me and my special needs. I intentionally delayed writing this review until after I had used the bike for a while in the event that I didnt like it or I had problems with it so that this review has relevance. I have Primary Lateral Sclerosis (PLS) and had been riding an older trike that was heavy and becoming too big for me to navigate. Mel and Janet made this experience and adventure! Mel spoiled us with his delicious mochas and energy bars. Janet patiently listened to me even though I am very hard to understand due to PLS. She selected 3 Catrikes that would meet my needs, fit my body type and would have longevity as I progressed with PLS. After the different trikes were set and adjusted, my husband, Janet and myself all set out for a test ride. I had the opportunity to test ride all three trikes through bumpy alleys, city streets and residential areas with steep hills. When we got back to the shop, Mel and Janet helped us decide on the perfect trike for me through a process of elimination. We decided on the Trail and it is life-changing for my husband and me! I now have about 100 miles on my Catrike and can honestly say that it was probably one of the best decisions we have made in our lives. It has opened up a whole new world for us filled with freedom and hope! I did have an issue with one of the cables that prevented me from shifting. Mel and Janet were more than accommodating with repairing it. They even offered to pay for the repair in our town so we wouldnt have to drive up to Portland. Mel and Janet pour their hearts and souls into each individual customer and they back up what they sell. If anyone reading this review is on the fence about purchasing a Catrike at RecumbentPDX, its well worth the investment! Life is too short not to have the freedom to enjoy it!

I’m sorry I forgot the mechanic sales gentleman’s name but he was wonderful. I have rode my trail recumbent twice on my bike path with family using my old one. This bike responds so much better to my effort of pedaling. My other recumbent acts like the tires are flat and getting up hills are very difficult. My family now sees why I lagged behind so badly. I first met the PortlandPDX crew in 2019 at a TRIKEFEST in Portland Oregon. Several dealers had trikes of all makes and models for people to ride. I had been riding a Rans Stratus recumbent for many years, but found as I stared getting older (80) I started having problems with my balance. I really liked the RecumbentPDX crew at the TRIKEFEST as they were very patient with all the questions thrown at them. Two of my friends that went with me to the TRIKEFEST bought trikes shortly after that. I started doing some research and found Catrike are built in the U.S.A. So the following year I called and emailed the people and made arrangements to go to Portland from The Dalles. I ended up purchasing a Catrike Trail with electric assist on August 6, 2020, and stared riding the hills in The Dalles area and enjoyed it very much. I wasnt able to take it back into Portland for the 6 month checkup because of the Covid restrictions. I was finally able to take in to Portland in May 2021They went through the whole Trike and even some repairs and did not charge for he service. Mel and his whole crew were fantastic.

We had been researching options that would allow my wife Patti to return to cycling after losing most of her right hand in an automobile accident. One of our many searches for recumbent tricycles took us to the Recumbent PDX website. The Google reviews for the shop were long, detailed and overwhelmingly positive. The fact that they came from all over the west was a good indication that Recumbent PDX was a very unique outlet.Mel responded to my email inquiry with some questions about my wife’s disability. He got back to us very quickly with a solution that would allow the trike to be operated with one hand, including a photo of an adapted trike. It looked exactly like what we were looking for but couldn’t find at any local shop.We drove to Portland from La Conner, Washington for an appointment to look at trikes. Once we walked into the shop, we realized that the long drive was worthwhile even if we didn’t settle on a trike. We were warmly greeted by Mel, Janet and their son Mark. We were also greeted like old friends by Milo and Rosie, the adorable shop dogs. I declined Mel’s offer of coffee until I saw their restaurant grade espresso machine. We had the expectation that my wife would try one or more trikes in the shop or in the plaza in front. Much to my surprise, Mel got us both helmets and selected trikes for the two of us to try. I was very apprehensive when Mel led us off the lot and across busy Hawthorne Blvd. Neither of us had ever ridden a recumbent of any type but Mel’s instructions were all we needed to feel comfortable on the trikes. We rode through a very cyclist friendly residential neighborhood, navigating turns, hills and minimal traffic, most of it other cyclists. I was amazed how quickly Patti mastered the trike, even though she had been uncomfortable on a mountain bike even before our accident. The look on her face when we finished the test ride was in itself worth the long drive from northwest Washington. We spent over three hours in the shop and on the test ride. We’ve purchased new cars with much less dealer assistance and education. We never felt like Mel and Janet were trying to sell us anything. They were helping make an informed choice that would work best for Patti. Based upon all our criteria, Mel gave us a quote on a CatTrike Trail with single lever pneumatic brakes and a Bosch power assist. The modifications will take longer than our stay in Portland so we’ll be back down in a week to ten days to pick up Patti’s trike. On our next trip down we’ll be bringing the Trail home. We look forward to seeing our new friends Mel, Janet, Mark, Milo and Rosie.

I decided to look at recumbent trikes after recumbent bikes were too unstable for me on test rides. Went down to PDX (Portland OR) as RecumbentPDX looked like best shop around. Mel, Janet, and their mechanic far exceeded my expectations. Had an appt at noon, left a bit after 3. Janet gave me the run-through on all the models of Catrike, all of which were hanging from the walls of the immaculate showroom. I was leaning toward getting the 5.5.9, based upon the descriptions online. She fit a test ride model to me, made sure I had a helmet (brought mine, as well as bike shorts and gloves) and gave me suggestions for a route. Mel helped me to the start, after telling me oh no, you want to go down here and describing a route that included a bit of a hill. Before I headed off he took great care to go over some basic safety measures when riding a trike, light on brakes, both brakes at a time, and dont touch front chainring shifters until ALL gears in back used. Cross-gear maneuvers trash the rear derailleur. The route tested all aspects of riding a trike. Got back to the shop, fitted out an Expedition and repeated the route. Sold! More comfortable ride, better power position for the hill.Mel asked when I was heading back, told him tomorrow . He said oh good, our mechanic is here tomorrow (Sunday, they are closed) so he can build it. Literally. It was in the box, frame and parts. We went over options and some upgrades - longer handles, better neck rest, rear rack - i paid the tariff and headed off to Saturday evening. Called Mel the next morning, he said mechanic figured 3 more hours, to be sure everything is ideal. Three and a half hours later I headed home to Seattle, bike strapped to the top of my car, after another run through of the basics. Mel also showed me how to access his videos online on maintenance, removing rear wheel, etc, tossed in a few 20 tubes for the front wheels and a bottle of chain lube.Good-natured easygoing owners, superb education on model options and trike-riding basics, no rush on test rides, over-the-top service to have the trike ready to meet my time frame. If I could rate RecumbentPDX 10 Stars I would. Want a bent trike? Go meet Mel and Janet. Cant get better than that.

Tl;dr; if you think you might like riding a trike, even if you aren’t 100% sure how it would work for your situation, hit up RecumbentPDX and they’ll help you figure it all out!For years I’d been interested in the whole recumbent bike/trike concept. It just seemed like a great idea! But I’d never taken the time to really explore the concept much, until recently with the inaccessibility of public transit and the closure of my gym got me thinking: what can I do differently to take advantage of this “reset” of certain aspects of the city and the idea came back into mind.So I started researching the various makers (RecumbentPDX carries all the big ones) to get an idea of whether I should or could try a recumbent trike. The answer was yes! My fiancée decided she was interested too.I wrote [email protected] with details on what I was hoping to do and what I’d been looking at and Janet got right back to me. A couple days later and we met Mel and Janet at the shop for our test rides. I didn’t really know how long we’d spend or if we’d even like the feel of triking.Janet helped us out every step of the way from fitting the trikes for us to innumerable key tips on braking, mounting/dismounting and much more before we headed out. She easily saved us a week or more of trial-and-error learning and really showed the value in enlisting experienced guides. One of the most amazing things was the extent and variety of adaptive modifications the shop has done for people with different accessibility needs. Lots of options for lots of people, stuff I hadn’t even imagined.Once we were out riding the trikes were amazing! Overall we tried four models and three makers, they were all pretty great and a lot of the differences seem to speak largely to differences in needs/goals or stylistic preferences. I feel safe in saying, if you want to ride a trike, there’s probably one that would be great for you.Janet and Mel were super patient as we took the whole afternoon trying everything out. At the end of the day though, we had to get trikes, once we were riding it became clear: trikes were an even better idea than we’d imagined! We didn’t want to go back to not riding trikes. Mel and Janet encouraged us to take our time deciding and Mel showed us his filming rig trike along with some of his crazy cool off-road triking videos.A couple days later, we met Janet, Mel and mechanic Thomas to pick up our trikes. The pickup process was as attentive and detailed as the initial test rides and we got even more great tips from Mel, including (critically) a guide to the most expensive damage we could do with the reassurance that basically anything we might do could be fixed. We went for a ride right out of the shop and we’ve been out riding every day since.Overall, great experience and I look forward to working with the team in the future!

If you are looking for a recumbent trike or bike and you are in the Pacific Northwest, look no further. It is well worth the drive, even if you live a few hours away. I live in the Seattle area and I made the 3-hour drive down to Portland, to purchase my recumbent trike from them. From my initial contact with them on the phone to eventually picking up the trike, the entire experience was first class. I ordered my trike over the phone, as I knew exactly what I wanted and picked it up a week later. And if you visit their store, you can of course test ride as many trikes as you like. Their retail space is flawlessly clean, very well organized and the owners, Mel and Janet, and their staff are absolutely wonderful. They have customer service down, it just seems to come totally natural to them. Mel, Janet and their staff spent quite a bit of time with me to make sure the trike was setup exactly right for my needs and helped choose the right accessories. I got to take the trike on a test ride for a good hour and then upon my return to the store, I spent quite a bit of time talking to them about the trike, their shop and just hanging out with them. I also got to watch them deal with walk in customers and it is clear, they love what they do. They make you feel like you are family, offering you beverages, home-baked snacks, fruit etc. When bidding goodbye at the end and help me load my trike into my car, Mel and Janet sent me away with a bowl of Mel’s home made brownies. Seriously, customer service doesn’t get better than this. After my return home, whenever I have contacted Mel with questions via email, he usually gets back to me within hours (even after hours). Look no further if you are in the market for a recumbent. This is the best trike shop in the Pacific Northwest!

I recently purchased a trike from RecumbentPDX and I love it! I was quite impressed with one employee who actually took care of my business, a Louie Berry. He was extremely patient with me, answering all my myriad questions, sometimes the same questions got the same answers, but stated differently so I could understand better. I am a complete newbie when it comes to not only recumbents, but riding bikes as well, so I was grateful for his patience and expertise. He calibrated the trike so that it would meet my body height and length. He showed me how to steer, how to brake, how to shift, and was very patient in meeting my needs to understand. He appeared to be very knowledgeable as well as patient. He showed me how to turn on the electricity and then turned it off and had me do it myself. He did this with just about everything he showed me, so that I would have a clear understanding of what I was doing to what to make it do what it is supposed to do. Whew! Lots to learn in a short time, but he was careful in his explanations to me and I did learn. So if you are in the market for a recumbent trike, I highly urge you stop by RecumbentPDX and see what they have for you. You will find a clean, well kept shop, knowledgeable staff, one exceptionally knowledgeable, patient employee named Louie, and lots of fascinating inventory to peruse and purchase, and affordable pricing.

The bike expertly adjusted for me --even though I was just testing. The staff understood that to make a purchase there were many questions I needed to ponder and they patiently and competently walked me thought the process.I ended up feeling the staff werent salespeople but consultants -- truly a pleasant and helpful experience!

Ive been wanting a trike for a year. I drove up from Eugene for another errand, and walked into the shop on Saturday thinking Id just test ride a couple and see if trikes were as fun as I thought they would be. I got to meet two wonderful doggos, and then got a great introduction to trikes! I learned all these little things that you dont know when youve just watched a bunch of YouTube videos, like braking tips and what to watch out for on the road. When it was time to go out, I felt a little nervous facing Portland traffic on a new type of bike, and right away an employee offered to go with me! This was so nice, I felt more confident, and it turned out I didnt need to be worried. The drivers on the road were great, they even waved hello.Within minutes of riding the Catrike 559 I was in love, and knew that was my trike. But this wasnt supposed to be a trike-trip, and now we had brought the wrong car, and had no idea how wed get the trike home. The staff totally saved the day! They knew how to make the trike secure on top of our sedan, and the drive went perfect! They even sent us out the door with extra water and oranges for the long drive home. Im SO happy with my experience, I was able to ask lots of questions, given lots of advice, and I never felt any sales pressure. We got so much help getting the trike home, Im so grateful! I was ready to buy an Amtrak ticket and cross my fingers. I will happily recommend Recumbent PDX to everyone who asks about my incredibly cool new ride! Its been two days and Ive been out on three rides, I totally get now why people love trikes.

Spent 3 days working with this amazing team. They helped me test ride every option I was interested in and provided friendly and attentive help. We drove down from Seattle and it was worth every mile. There are recumbent dealers in the Seattle region but the experience is worth the trip. They are happy to answer any question and have a huge selection of the best and safest recumbents around, where you can grab your helmet or barrow one of the shops and go test ride. The days of old and slow recumbent bikes are in the past. These things are just as fast and easy to hill climb on as any road bike. Thanks again you guys. See you soon to get the wifes picked up.

When I first came into the store, I didnt know what I was in for. But I was sure that a Recumbent would be right fit for me, as I had not been able to ride on a regular bike due to back problems for many years. I only recently learned about a recumbent, and how I could ride one without hurting myself. Not only did a get a great bike, but I also experienced great customer service from the employees while I was being properly fitted for the bike. In the future, I hope that I can have many more great experiences at this wonderful store.

The staff at RecumbentPDX were very helpful in assisting me with zeroing in on the make and model of recumbent trike that best fits my particular needs. The store has been recently updated, stocked with inventory, and is ready for business. The trike I chose (Greenspeed Magnum) was assembled in minutes including the accessories selected. As a novice to bicycling, I was given a tremendous amount of information about the use and maintenance of the Magnum trike.Overall, my experience at RecumbentPDX was extremely positive and I would highly recommend this store to anyone, young or old, novice or pro, that is in the market for a new recumbent bike or trike.

Surprisingly Boise, ID did not have a shop that stocked recumbent trikes. I researched online and of course UT Trikes pops up. Some searching brought up RecumbentPDX in Portland. Drive time to each shop was fairly equal. I work mostly during the day and only have nights and weekends off. Emailing both shops for information on trikes was the deciding factor on which shop to purchase from. I intended to spend thousands of dollars for a trike. I had sold thousands of dollars of downhill mountain bike and backcountry gear for a trike after a neck injury. Ordering online was not an option. I would never order a car online why would I do a trike? Mel answered my many questions at all times of the night and even Sundays. The other shop gave me one answer 2 days later. That shop appears to cater mostly to online sales. Not what I was looking for. I wanted to touch, play, and ride something before spending my savings. Wow, what a great decision taking the family to Portland Oregon. I found my dream trike after trying out multiple trikes all day. Everyone was so awesome. Thank you!

I had the same experience as all of the other reviews, fantastic customer service, great showroom, knowledgeable and friendly staff, and the chance to test ride recumbent trikes until I found the right one.I was rehabbing from a total knee replacement and still have some small range of motion issues that were well taken care of by trying out adjustable cranks. Mel, Janet, and their staff make you feel like family and give you their full attention so that all your questions and needs are completely addressed. I did a lot of research and looked online as well as at other bike shops in the area. I always ended coming back to Recumbent PDX and purchasing an HP Scorpion FS 26 in September 2017. The support after my purchase has also been excellent including my first tune-up and several questions about accessories and other things. Mel always answers email quickly and many times after hours.Their mechanics are also top notch and willing to spend time talking about whatever you need. In a time where customer service seems to be a lost art, Recumbent PDX is a shining star. I know that I can always call, email, or visit their store to continue getting their amazing customer service.Galen K.

Our issue was, however, that we got a different car and our old bike rake did not fit it properly. We thought we would have to buy a whole new rack but because of their research and digging they found that the our rack maker could send them a part and they could take apart our current rack and retro-fit it to work on the auto. It would be an exaggeration to say that Mel and crew at RecumbentPDX saved my life, but they did get me back on the road after an injury that left me unable to use an upright bike. I drove to Portland from Seattle with my family of 4, and Janet led us on a family trike ride around the neighborhood., showing extraordinary patience and hospitality. They then watched my kids so my partner and I could have more time to rigorously road test trike models. Mel and Louie, mechanic extraordinaire, came in early the next day to finish fitting me in my choice of trike and get it tricked out. Then - I am not kidding - they brought it up to Seattle two days later so I would not have to make another trip to Portland.RecumbentPDX continued to support me even after the sale was completed. Mel responds very quickly to emails, and both he and Louie have been readily available by phone. When electrical problems cropped up with my motor (HP Velotechnik Scorpion S-Pedelec), Louie and Janet drove up to Seattle to troubleshoot and complete the repairs. Wow. I highly recommend this family-run business. They have treated my like family (in a good way).

I am a 74-year-old man who led a very active life until 12 months ago. At that time, I found myself losing my balance in several different ways. The one that bothered me the most was related to keeping upright on my bicycle. At the time, I was riding several times a week with a group of friends, and to my great regret, I had to give that up. That happened during the six months of each year that my wife and I live in North Idaho. In the summers we spend time in this “rural” setting, surrounded by wheat and hay fields; in the winters we spend time in Portland to soak up cultural activities. Living in Southeast Portland, I would pass by RecumbenPDX on the bus frequently. Finally, I decided to drop in for a tricycle test ride, and the rest as they say, was history! With support and encouragement of the PDX Recumbents’ owners and staff, after several months, I decided to buy a Catrike Villager – it changed my life! I now am able to ride with my friends in Idaho in summers and resume riding the streets of Portland during the winter. I have gotten stronger, and for the first time in years, I feel healthy and “alive.” I did find that I couldn’t keep up with my biking buddies initially, so I purchased a BionX electrical assist package, and now there is no hill I can’t climb. My friends are astounded by the change in me, and are considering purchasing a tricycle when they begin to lose their balance. 😊Thank you Mel and Janet for “saving my life!”

My wife and I arrived at the shop on a Saturday afternoon. We were met by a very friendly employee named Jeff. He helpfully listened to what we had to say about what we thought we might like based on internet searches we done prior to this visit. He patiently encouraged us to sit and peddle several models available on the showroom floor, and pointed out the differences between them. After my wife went cruising around the showroom on a bike she liked it was my turn. I found a model with Jeffs help. We had not done any research on Catrikes and were excited about their comfort, 30 speed multi-geared capability, and the facts that they were lightweight and fold up. After copying our ODLs and lending us helmets, we were encouraged to take them for a spin on a local street. Being able to do this really helped us decide that I liked the 559 and she still preferred the Trail version. Then we were further impressed by Martina who helped my wife with her skirt issues, and with Rick and Russ who stayed later then closing hours to assemble the bikes and fit them to us. Mel and Jeff helped us load them into our truck. Everyone was patient with us and we did not feel rushed to make any decision. We have a remodeled a bike trailer to pull behind the trikes so that our 80+lb dog can travel with us. We have gone for several outings and have heard folks comment not only on our puppy but to exclaim about our bikes. We are very satisfied with them and our shopping experience. We have noticed that they do get scratched when they are being folded and unfolded. We will be carrying a pad with us in the future for this reason. We have ordered additional parts for the bikes and have been quickly communicated with about their arrival. Employees seem both friendly and passionate about their jobs and their product. We highly recommend RecumbentPDX to anyone looking for a recumbent bike.

I had tried out a few recumbent trikes in Tucson, but the folks at the shop there seemed distant and uniformed about their product. I had noted very many positive reviews of Recumbent PDX so decided to give them a try when I got home.Yesterday, I spent a couple hours with Mel, explained to him what I had found positive and negative about the various trikes I had tried. He was very patient and knowledgeable and steered me to a Catrike Road. Not the most expensive, but what appeared to be the best fit for my needs. I had a couple of small negatives about the Catrike, and he was immediately to propose very plausible solutions. I put my money down, and agreed to pick up my new bike today. My wife went with me this morning, and I found the trike to be precisely what I wanted. Mel and Louie spent time with me adjusting and I was very pleased with the result. I look forward to many satisfying rides on a very capable trike. The best part came however, when my wife started looking at the trikes and expressing an interest. She had a very bad fall a number of years ago while we were out for a ride, and has been very hesitant over the last 30 years of going again. Over time, I have bought here an number of different bikes, including electric, thinking that we would find something she would enjoy. I have sold just as many bikes at a huge loss, as nothing seemed to work out.Janet, Mel and Louie spent a great deal of time with her, and were very attentive to her needs. She has had surgeries on each wrist and has very little strength in her hands, making breaking difficult. Due to the serious fall, she real fear of tipping on any bike. The many gears and the need to shift had her petrified. They proposed a different breaking system that required pressure of the range she could easily apply, They spent a great deal of time modifying the floor model with pedals and other items that made here feel that someone was listening. They showed her a Shimano internal hub system with electric shift, adjusted the break levers to reduce the reach, installed different pedaling systems, etc. Louie went for a ride around the block with her and proposed a different trike.Bottom line, is that we will be going back next week, so they can have something set up for her to try. She is exceptionally enthusiastic about the possibilities, as am I thinking I may not only have my new trike, but I may have a riding partner again. This is by far the most positive experience I have ever had at a bike shop in over 50 years of riding. I would definitely recommend the team at Recumbent PDX to anyone with an interest in trying out this type bike/trike.
