I went in looking for band aids, my hand was actively bleeding, and although they didn’t have any in stock the nice man working there went and got me some from their first aid supply. He even unwrapped them for me and gave me some extras to take home with me. Really great employee and very appreciated. Thanks again!!

New owners - their Hilltop Italian (not a Maine Italian, but I wasn’t expecting that) is absolutely amazing. I’m halfway through mine and stopped eating to write this so I wouldn’t forget.Highly recommend, glad to have them around the corner and I’m super grateful for the changes they’ve made.

Called in a order for the burger basket was told they had some out and ready. I asked if it was possible to add lettuce tomato and onions and was told it comes how it is which is just cheese on a burger and a bun. Prices have gone up and quality hasn’t improved. The store is convenient and has a good beer selection, while food is low quality.

Wow a lot of hate on this place! Great selection of local beer and snacks. Reasonably priced. Who comes to a “superette” for amazing sandwiches and pizza?? Otto is down the street and it’s some of the best pizza I’ve ever had.

Ive always had problems with inconsistent food from this store, and about a month ago they burned my pizza and had to make another. Now today, someone actually cooked and sold me this pizza. It had cheese and pepperoni on one piece, the rest was a huge lump of dough. When you dont love the food you make, it really shows.

Extremely disappointing hot pastrami sandwich. The meat was sliced super thick, like somebody just got lazy with the deli slicer. The menu described a toasted hoagie bun. I got an untoasted italian sandwich roll. Not enough mustard to notice its even there. And my sandwich was sliced in half after it was wrapped in foil, leaving foil flakes visible in the sandwich where it was cut. Never again.

This little market is a convenient spot to get basic items in Munjoy Hill. I used to go pretty regularly, but have stopped as I dont feel safe there. Customers dont all wear masks and dont keep their distance. Not all employees wear masks, which just reinforces the lack of CDC guideline compliance. Its just stressful to go there in these times.

This place is awesome! They have everything you could ever need for food. Convenience store but also hot food to order and it is delicious! The only bummer is that theres no sitting room while you wait for your food but its just not that kinda place. Highly recommend this place!

The food is inconsistent and pricey. Called to see if they had an ingredient I realized I needed for dinner, as they were out a couple days prior. Was told they had it, but when I got there they were still out. Also, they must be doing less business than expected because they rarely have hot food ready to go in either of their two hot food stations. As if thats not bad enough theyve recently taken to not answering the phone. This place fails to justify its existence on a daily basis.

Convenient place to get food. But the service was bad. Got an extremely weird vibe from the lady there. Didnt speak to me, just stared at me when I asked questions and paid. Never said a word, just stared and did her job.Hi, Google doesnt give an easy way to respond. But the girl was younger with long blonde hair and a little bigger.

Inconsistent since change in management, as evidenced by the slow trickle of locals reviewing as such since maybe a year or so ago. Ive been loyal for a while as well, but they lost me on the fact that they recently became a no backpacks allowed store. Things in general seem to be trending downward in the last year or so. Maybe its just me, but it seems like there are management inconsistencies, especially with stocking.

Their pizza is amazing but the rest of the food could use some improvement though. More experienced cooks in the kitchen would really make a big difference. Theres a lot of money to be made in take out on Munjoy Hill but youd need to hire more experienced cooks. Overall, a great neighborhood store.

Ive been loyal for a while, but the quality has noticeably decreased. Its difficult to get a convenient slice of pizza anymore, let alone anything else from the kitchen. Staff usually seems overwhelmed or confused. Nearly all the local brands they used to carry are gone and it just feels mostly like a rebranded 7-Eleven

They consistently have one the best burgers on the peninsula, and the price is perfect. The soups are consistently awesome, too. I didnt think of them as a lunch spot until I discovered the short order counter, but since I did, theyve earned my business as my go-to place for weekday chow. If only they had indoor seating, itd be perfect...but theyre doing great regardless.

Just moved to the neighborhood and thought tonight I’d stop in for dinner to go. It took forever- slow and weird service. Not eager to return. Noticed that another person reviewed this place today and felt similarly about the woman at the register. She stares like you’re from mars. (Also that 15$ lobster roll I waited forever for was tiny.)

Checked out Saturday july 15th.. 3 o clock.. lady with braces was incredibly rude and clearly on drugs. Rolled her eyes at me when i approached the counter and proceeded to ask me questions that made no sense. I pulled my slip from her and cashed out at the other register. Probably never return as long as this crack head is employed here.

This place has seriously gone downhill over the past year. People leaving 4/5 star reviews only had a good food experience, they are not regulars like i am. Ever since the owner left, the only people working there are these punk kids who should be a 7/11, not the friendly neighborhood store. They are inattentive, meandering, late orders, no customer service (the last two times i went there the girl at the counter didnt say one single word to me) and to me, the most recent worst part is the restocking. I have been trying to buy my brand of cat food there for almost a week, its still gone. Meanwhile everyone in the store is just chilling and listening to music. Ive gone back and forth about this a few times, but im almost certain i will not be back again. And im a regular. Im just so fed up with how the store is now, id rather just walk to riteaid. Theyre nice and stocked.

Neighborhood grocers are a favorite of mine. Where ever I have lived I seek them out. They are often full of great energy, family feel, and personal touches.Hilltop has the convenience aspect covered. With such a grear schedule they really are great for those last minute items after work or when youre baking and forgot the sugar. However, when it comes to the other aspects of a local community grocer, they lag behind other options in the area. It can often feel as if customers are a nuisance and interrupting social activies. Attention to quality of prepared food is not as strong as othwr places but it is not the worst place. There is little attention paid to customers and a lot of atrention paid to phones and friends. This has caused issues both witnessed and experienced. For example one current experience came this week. I went in to purchase a few soda pops and went to the registar to pay. Slowly the book being read by the cashier was put away as I placed the items on the counter. She asked if I needed a bag. I gave her my reusable bag, she gave me the total and asked whether it was for debit or credit. I went to answer and she started looking down at what looked like a phone or small IPad. I answered it was for credit. I put the card into the chip reader and while she continued to look down, I bagged my things because she did not seem interested. I asked if I was all set as I had been standing there bagging and she said yes. Thinking the transaction was complete I took out the card and headed out. Not five feet from leaving she bolted out saying I didnt swipe my card. I replied I had it was credit and I slid it into the chip reader. I went to slide it into chip reader again and she said for debit to swipe. I said it is not debit, it is credit. So she had me slide it in.Now I dont mind mistakes as they happen to all of us however, if a cashier or employee is going to ignore you they need to take ownership when they make mistakes; for example not checking if they heard you right on credit or debit, not checking to see if the transaction went through before saying all set, etc...If the few issues are improved this place could be a 4 star easily for grocers.
