Great, cool spot to get some coffee. I picked up an iced coffee and nitro and both were great. I liked the calm vibe of the interior; perfect place to come in from the heat and enjoy a coffee. It must have looked really good, too because I was stopped in the street and asked where I got my coffee

Very nice place! We got cream cheese bagel, croissant sandwich, latte and a mocha. Everything was great and the plant decor was very nice! They also sell plants and they looked really good!

The Cheese Danish and the Ice Mocha were amazing! And the lady behind the counter was super sweet too.

Penny and her family are awesome. Penny always makes it a point to remember your name and I think thats pretty cool of her to do. Also, she makes delicious breakfast bagels. As soon as I walk in, she is greeting me and asking me if I want my usual order. Its cool to know you can walk into a business and feel like youre visiting an old friend.

Im so excited to see that theyve relocated down the street. Their new cafe location is very clean, open and warm. Wi-fi offered with purchase, and the staff often remember your order in a way that makes you feel at home as a local and regular customer. Its my go to spot for when Im doing work on my laptop, and its really cool to watch the family-owned cafe grow. Great options for meatless breakfast sandwiches, and I dig their Vietnamese coffee.

Walked here when staying at a hotel down the street and wow, smoothest iced latte ever! So good! I wish they had locations in Texas. Def will have to go again next time Im in Portland.

A veritable oasis in the middle of the city. What a lovely place, tastefully decorated with dark wood and plants everywhere. The staff was super warm and friendly, and the AC was plentiful!

I didn’t even get to try the coffee or anything, but I wanted to comment on the experience. We walked in as we were strolling the area and needed a pick me up. We’ve been trying to not go to Starbucks to support small. Anyway we walked in and the man didn’t greet us but just said “to go only” which I figured it was because of covid guidelines. And we were going to get ours to go so we could keep exploring. Then the lady said they were closing so if we could be quick. But then we all felt bad so we said we would go somewhere else so they don’t stay late.They must be doing well to not need business so that’s a good sign. I understand the frustration when someone walks in right as you’re closing, so it is our bad that we didn’t look at the hours.

Wandering downtown Portland while visiting from out of town, and I stop by my favorite haberdashery, Classic Collection Hats on Oak. After buying a topper, I ask the guy where to grab a tea and kill some time. He started raving about Java Man, just down the street.What great people here! Super friendly and upbeat! And the breakfast and lunch sandwich selection was awesome! But, what was the real pleasant surprise was the prices! They were running a breakfast special of a ham, cheese and egg English muffin sandwich for $3.00! I mean cmon, how do they even stay open giving food away like this! 🤣Comfortable chairs, neighboring business people coming in and out being greeted by name... A great place to spend a bit of time over an iced green tea.Id give it 6 stars if I could!

I just started working in the area and one of colleagues mentioned how business is not great across the street so I thought I should go check them out. Service was great and everything was tasty. My latte was yummy. With the construction it feels like a secret but its not! Go check them out!

Ive gone there many times, mornings mostly. Every time I arrive, I get greeted with a smile. The staff are really friendly. The place is well kept. Its a nice quiet spot to go to. Good coffee and pastries. They also offer teas, juice, smoothies and energy drinks.

Great local coffee! I come here way more than I should, but their coffee is too good to give up. Try out the Java Latte! (Its my favorite drink amongst several local coffee joints.) Good breakfast and lunch selection as well.

This is one of those hidden gem Mom n Pop shops.Super random extensive menu with anything and everything including sandwiches, bagels and bubble tea.Dont expect hand crafted self pickled kind of items. No Milkshake or smoothie from local organic products BUT there are locally baked goods and a great drink selection. You WILL get a friendly smile welcoming you and as a regular they will remember your name. This is a dying breed of establishment that I wish would make a comeback.Yes I want healthy ingredients in my food but you can still find healthy options here if you take the time to look. I also enjoy their random decorating and crazy menu, the dumb founding amount of pastries available any given day and some endearing language barriers and cultural differences that have led to some bad reviews by impatient folks. This place has limitations but it also has charm and folks who care to give you a great start or end to any day.Come in, find something you like and come often. This kind of place will actually appreciate your patronage unlike so many Portland snooty joints who seem to care less if you return and more about what you think of their smoke and mirrors. I come here for homework time before school and a smile.

A lovely little coffee shop thats been here for long time. The owners and proprietors are super friendly and the coffee is good. Havent tried the food, but its cheap and simple.

Stopped here to work for an hour or two. Had the Iced Matcha Latte and the BBQ Pork Sandwich..both are so fresh and good! Place is wifi equipped and the lady at the front is extremely nice. Its hidden under a bit of construction at the moment, but its safe to say its a hidden gem!

I do not know much about the place. I was literally dying from dehydration after working in the filed all day. It would have been nice to try a cup of water. I had to go to Starbucks though. I did not have any cash at the moment. The barista at Java Man wanted money for the water. Starbucks, just down the street, gave me a large water and sugar! I love Starbucks.

Java Man is the best the owners and there children make you feel right at home. Ive been coming here for years and I go there at least once a day. The food is great best coffee and prices plus the people are fantastic.

The signature Java Latte is one of the best lattes I’ve ever had.

The Vietnamese coffee and the Hawaiian smoothies were both delicious. The lady working was also very friendly and helpful for someone who had never been before.

I always walk out of Java Man with a huge smile. I visit about once a week and they always remember my name and order. Its completely unexpected in this day and age with customer service but they make you feel like family and thats cool.

This place is amazing. The family who runs it is very nice, and was friendly each time I came in. Their Double Fudge Java Freeze is literally the best thing Ive ever tasted in my entire life.

This unassuming coffee shop actually has some of the best coffee around, if you are NOT into the acidic coffee at places like Stumptown, and its all at a great price! The coffee is always hot and fresh, full bodied. They sell an assortment of snacks including some rather delicious doughnuts. The owners and employees are really nice.

Enjoyed this quick little stop during my trip to PDX. Good customer service and a friendly atmosphere are important in a coffee shop and this place nails it. They have good smoothies and I highly recommend the numi green tea. I wish there was a java man near me I would buy one of those every day.

The coffee was old and burnt, I have eaten here before also and the food tastes okay but over priced. I wont be back...
