Case Study represents one of the more consistent coffee roasters in the Greater Portland area. The Alberta location is ideally located among one of the more trendy parts of the city. One can easily spend an entire morning or afternoon in this neighborhood.All of their offerings are on point with some of my favorites being their cold brew, espresso, and matcha. They offer an array of milk alternatives, including almond, soy, and oat. Case Study also pulls shots that are consistent and properly calibrated, resulting in a tasty and visually appealing crema. There’s also a decent selection of pastries and non-coffee drinks available.The customer service at this location is always very good and they can be quite helpful if you walk in undecided. Since they’re located right off the sidewalk, you can relax and enjoy your brew while people watching or enjoying a great read. There are also multiple electrical outlets (particularly upstairs) so feel free to bring your laptop along. A/A*

Great coffee shop in the Alberta neighborhood. The interior feels very homey, with a beautiful mid century modern decor, an impressive caffeine molecule chandelier and a super cool roaster! The rolling garage door is super nice in summertime. If you like interior design, you should check this place out, the owners really did an amazing job. The mezzanine has a lot of seating with plugs everywhere. Did not try the coffee, but the jasmine matcha was excellent.

This place was great and the barista was super friendly. I got their iced honey lavender latte with oat milk and it was so good. Cant wait to go again!

We drove 30 minutes to try this place. Excellent experience, coffee is delicious! Had the Carmel bourbon latte and another latter I forgot the name but both were perfectly balance and delicious. Second best coffee Ive had!Side note: we came in Saturday and it was not too busy, we were the only ones in line and the service received was kinda awkward. At first the guys were welcoming but when I wanted to customize one of the drinks on the menu, (latte instead of cappuccino) I was looked at oddly before they hesitantly said okay. I dont know what the deal was but that was my only off moment here.

This place is fantastic! The staff is super friendly and really funny! The coffee is delicious and the roaster sits just interior to the bar. The vibe is welcoming and the aesthetic is so pleasing! Come through if you love wood paneled earth tones and happy house plants!

Visited this coffee shop twice. First visit was really good. Drink was perfect. But my second visit wasnt as good as the first one. I woulddefinitely want to visit for something new- no more latte maybe.

While visiting Portland I sampled six roasters, and this was my top choice!!! Strong words from a Bay Area coffee aficionado :) my sister-in-law now ships their Burnside Blend coffee to me - so good and fresh.

Fantastic people and great service!! Get their iced chai. It is beyond stellar!! Staying across the street at an Air B&B, I would go get one sometimes 2 or 3 times a day! Case study is a case study in fantastic and when you can see this from your seat you have finally arrived.

Great breezy spot on Alberta Ave. Limited outdoor seating but plenty of indoor loft seating. Large windowed front and high ceilings provide a wonderful open feeling.

Their dark roast coffee is nice and strong. They have a chill vibe with upscale products. i plan on bringing my laptop to study there some time. 4 stars because the only stevia option was the raw stuff.

Case Study is great no matter the location! This one has a really airy feel due to the high ceilings. It was busy but not packed when I headed over there to work near lunchtime. Very friendly staff that will go the extra mile to simply help you have a nice day. Easy to park, too!

Cute coffee shop in the Alberta Arts District. Lots of options to order off the menu and a few snacks as well. Super fast service and friendly staff. Lots of shops and artwork around it so be sure to get your coffee to go to explore the neighborhood!

Excellent tea and friendly staff. Coffee smells wonderful though I prefer tea in the afternoon so I did not try it this time. Cozy atmosphere and a cool loft seating area give the shop a neat unique atmosphere. Definitely worth a stop if youre in the area.

Best coffee in Portland and that is saying a lot. Time and time again they make the best espresso or our over I can find anywhere with rotating coffees to add variety. I love the downtown location the most but the Sandy Blvd location is also nice.

They know coffee! But were not pretentious but patient with us to explain drinks and help us make a choice. Delicious! Looks like they have a nice outdoor space but the rain kept us inside which was also a nice space.

Finally a coffee shop in Portland that really does coffee well! They know their beans here and can talk the coffee talk. The shop is a really nice space. The pour overs are worth the wait. The staff are friendly. I had an Ethiopian coffee and it was amazing.

Really enjoyed this cafe. The baristas were very friendly and the cafe had a laid back vibe. The seating is on 2 levels, with more of the tables upstairs. There is not a ton of seating, but there is a patio area that is open in good weather.The espresso was excellent. They have several single-origin coffees available for pour-over. They had some pastries, but they didnt look too remarkable.

A great place to come and sit with a friend or work on your laptop. The music is typically excellent. Id definitely recommend the cold brew. Theres upstairs seating and outdoors seating.

I like the atmosphere and friendly baristas. Good tea selection unlike most coffee shops. My only complaint is the music. Would prefer something a little more mellow/calming (at least some of the time) when trying to study, write etc.

One of the less pretentious coffee shops in Portland. The coffee is always spot on and they always have a good few beans to choose from. The baristas are always so nice and not stand offish which is pretty common in this city. Always love to come here and get some work done

Love this shop. They have so many delicious naturals and an incredibly knowledgable staff. Plus, they have interesting house made flavors if your looking for something besides pure coffee.

I had their hazelnut and it was so simple so well done and the taste..oh the taste! So rich so creamy! Polite staff lovely atmosphere and women with no bras it was lovely.

Great staff and coffee. The lofted space where most of the seating is located has old, scuffed plastic office chairs. Its like meeting a friend for conversation and really good coffee at my local DMV. I can appreciate the fact that a chair is just a tool for resting my legs, but Id like a little more for my coffee experience.

Excellent coffee!!! These guys roast and brew their own coffee in house (or so it seems). They have custom mixed syrups that you can add to your latte or cappuccino that make them stand out from the rest. Well be back!

I love this cafe! The chai is made in house and has a spicy kick that is incredible! The baristas are friendly and real. The decor is also stunning, you can tell the owners put a lot of effort into the build out and it shows!

Good coffee, nice design, rude service, nasty bathroom.So I come to get a coffee late-afternoon barista may have 2 people sitting upstairs with their laptop, no one on the main floor so very slow.I quickly ordered my coffee and asked if I could use the bathroom. After less than a minute I come out and the grumpy barista ( who is not busy at all if anything w zero common sense ) is waiting for me to cash out instead of getting started with the coffee.For a $6 ( $7 w tip ) cup of coffee you may expect a decent bathroom to wash your hands. I was afraid a ball of hair would come out in my coffee after using that bathroom.I had the impression that perhaps homeless people order coffee, use the bathroom to clean themselves and then leave without paying or taking their coffee...either that or this barista is just plain clueless on how to read costumers.However I wouldn’t not mind any of the above if the bathroom was in a state according the beauty of the cafe ( great design, lovely and spacious and good coffee)
