In April 2021 I took my 1999 F-250 diesel to AG because the cost of a similar new truck was too high and the diesel engine had only 170K on it. From tie rods to manifold leaks to electrical issues, they went over everything. Six months on, the truck drives and feels like a new vehicle and Ive had not one issue. AGs vehicle inspection was thorough and it found issues I wasnt aware of but when fixed, substantially improved performance. Not only was the workmanship excellent but they care for their customers. Midway into their work on the truck, my wife had a dismal medical diagnosis and I panicked. She and our way of life were in peril and Im not proud to admit that I took out my frustration on the AG staff in the middle of their work on my truck. To their great credit they took great pains to accommodate me when I needed it, and I Thank Them! I will certainly use AG again.

I live nearby so AG auto is very convenient for me. I’ve had them do work on two of my older Japanese cars. Both run on gas - they didn’t have any problem with that. Shawn was very helpful polite and pleasant to work with. He understood that my budget was tight so he worked with me to diagnose the issues and helped make short and long term maintenance plans. I’ve been driving one of the cars for about a year now and I have to say that I was so satisfied that I had them take care of the other one recently! Outstanding service!

It turned out that the work needed was covered by warranty so AG Automotive delivered our car to the dealership and scheduled the repair. I recommend that you think twice before bring your Sprinter to these guys. They claim to be Sprinter specialist, but my experience shows otherwise. Either they dont know Sprinters or they are scamming folks and doing unnecessary repairs for folks who dont know any better. I have a 2005 Sprinter and do a lot of the work on it myself and know the van through and through. I was hoping to unload some of the work. I though I would give AG a try.I started simple to see what they are like to work with. Last August I asked them to change the transmission fluid. Simple right? Just do the work and everyone goes home happy? Well they performed a curtesy inspection. Yeah, sure, this is how mechanics make money, the upsell. I can deal with that. About 80% of the things they found had nothing wrong with them, they just didnt have records showing they had been replaced and the van has a lot of miles on it. Well of course you dont have records, youve never see the van before! They didnt even look at the front struts just the mileage at the dash. Thanks, I can do that much. The struts had been replaced a year ago!Sure, I can deal with this upsell. It just takes a simple no thank you and well get focused and back to work. What came next was the ball joint, that they claimed was heavily warn and need immediate replacement. If you know Sprinters you should know that there is naturally a lot of play in the ball joint when they are in fine shape. Mercedes even released a technical note saying that the traditional method testing the ball joint does not work, and that you should just look for physical wear (Search this yourself, publication number is GI33.00-N-039932, best place to find a pdf of it in the sprinter-source forums). I lucky was aware of this and told the technician about the technical note from Mercedes and said No thanks, please just do the transmission fluid.Then the final straw, he responded with something like Oh I am sorry sir, but I dont know if its safe. We will have to test drive the van and I dont feel safe letting my guy drive it in this condition. Ill have to check with my supervisor about this. It took me a second to comprehend what he was doing. He had completely ignored what I had told him and doubled down on the scam, by forcing me to do the unnecessary replacement. After hanging up the phone I immediately went to pick up the van. Lucky all they wasted was my time with their curtesy inspection and hadnt done any work.When I picked up the van the supervisor made an effort to be apologetic, but could provide no explanation for what they had done and didnt back down on the condition of the perfectly fine ball joint. He offered to look into it, read the technical note and get back to me with an explanation. I never heard anything. Needless to say, Ive put at least another 10k miles on the supposedly warn ball joint with no problems.These guys charge a premium for their work. I am ok paying a more for someone who knows what they are doing, but my experience shows that these folks do not know what they are doing. Either they dont know what they are doing or they are scamming people who dont know any better. Either way I wont let them touch my van again.

My car broke down suddenly and nobody would even offer to take a look at it. It’s a 1990 Mercedes 300se. Sean even though he was busy said he couldn’t really tackle the problem for two weeks but did say he would look at it, a lot better then the responses I received earlier. When he came to the conclusion that it was something he couldn’t do right away, he took time to call and ask a favor from another peer who is a specialist and got me in that day to get my car fixed. He went out of his way to do a solid for me. We never met before and maybe by the tone of voice that desperation have maybe set in. He really didn’t have to do nothing but like I try to be he has an old school mentality that is really rare in today’s world. It’s almost a surprise when somebody goes out of there way to help someone in need especially when it comes to special expertise such as an auto mechanic. On top of that I live in Seattle I’m not a local. I didn’t speak to anyone else but if this Company is any reflection of the service and favor if Sean it’s the best of the best. Can’t get any better with what he circumstances were at the time. Check em out, if they can’t take care of you which would be only because they’re overbooked, they will go out of there way to find someone who can get it done properly for you. I definitely appreciate what he did for me.

I had extensive work done to a more than 20 year old Dodge 3500. Front end rebuild, engine tune, fuel system clean and flush, brake system flush and adjust and the list goes on. The price was reasonable given the amount of work done. The attention to detail and level of service was exemplary. The truck drives like new - much improved handling and performance. Highly recommend.

These guys were SO nice and helpful! They took THE BEST care of me. I took up their HERO discount offer since I am a Nurse, and they did a free full inspection, cleaning, and sanitation on my car on top of the free oil change. When I dropped it off after a night shift, they gave me a ride home for free. I was so tired; they have no idea what that meant to me. I cannot recommend them enough. I will absolutely be coming back for future services. 10/10 would recommend.

She was kind and worked with me through pricing and the time frame in which I’d have my car back . Kirk was very professional the few times we spoke . The issues were many, but not unexpected. I picked it up today, runs like the day I drove it off the showroom floor. I’ll be letting them handle all my service work from now on.

I took my 2005 Chevy Silverado Duramax in to AG Automotive when it was having some hard start and engine misfire issues. Turns out I needed new glow plugs and also had some bad wiring issues. AG took care of my truck quickly and even ended up saving me some money off the original estimate. AG stayed in constant communication with me while my truck was there and took care of it quickly and professionally. AG had been recommended to me based on their Diesel expertise and they lived up to their billing. The cost and professionalism were just an added bonus. If you feel something is not right with the work or estimate you received, they will make it right. Although I did not go through with having my diesel fixed here, I feel the work would be proper if they had done it. I also can not account for the expense of the work as I have not received a bill for a completed job. Overall if you need a place to take your diesel to get properly fixed this is a decent spot.

Great experience! I received a free oil change and full inspection on my car, as they are honoring frontliners. They did an amazing job, didn’t try and sell me on other things, my car was clean on interior and even smelled good with a water bottle waiting for me!

Fantastic experience! My partner and I are both nurses in the Portland area. AG offered free oil change; COVID 19 treatment - a disinfectant run through the vent system, I believe; as well as pick up and drop off - all completely free of charge for all healthcare professionals. First, WOW! How awesome is that?! (I definitely sent over a case of beer as a small thank you!) Here’s my experience - AG was extremely communicative from the beginning through the end. They went out of their way to accommodate our schedules and preferences as they set up pickup and drop off times. The staff has been exceptionally kind and respectful to deal with and dropped off the 2 vehicles (2000 F250 7.3l & 2015 Jeep Patriot) ahead of schedule. They did an extremely detailed inspection of every system/ fluid level and sent a list of all recommendations with zero pressure to purchase the work with them. In fact, they didn’t even ask, but rather sent over the sheet with the list of items they recommended repairing along with full color photos. Upon arrival in the afternoon, they noted that they had also had the outsides of our vehicles washed for us for free as well. I cannot recommend their services enough. Thank you, AG!

Awesome experience! AG gave me a complementary oil change and car wash for being a nurse during this difficult time. While they had my car they also did an emissions test and sent it over to DMV for me since I needed to renew my registration. They were super accommodating in finding a time best for me to take my car in and even came to my house and picked it up for me. After my 2008 Sprinter with 327,000 miles had a turbo failure coming home from Glacier National Park, AG Automotive was recommended to me by a trusted friend who also has a Mercedes Sprinter. He told me AG was really thorough, friendly, professional, and definitely cheaper than the local Mercedes dealership. “Saved me thousands” was his quote. That’s a pretty good endorsement.I have used the Mercedes dealership for a few things and have no complaints,(except cost?) but it’s nice to know there are options. And, I have taken my van to another mechanic in Portland that works on Sprinters that I can’t recommend. So I have some experience in the “when your van breaks down” department. If you have an adventure van, you know that these vehicles are also your home, your dreams, your way of life, almost a member of your family- so finding a mechanic that you trust is paramount. Here’s what I can I say about AG Automotive: they are awesome! Kirk was quick to get my van diagnosed, great at communication and kept me in the loop at all the right steps. I felt like they did the repairs super fast but didn’t cut corners. They gave me a great warranty on the parts and their work. I will definitely take my van back to them for all my repairs. Kirk and the AG team went above and beyond to exceed my expectations.

This is best mechanic shop in the city! I stumbled across AG as I was scrambling for a quick fix since my tags were about to expire and I needed a quick DEQ test. My DEQ meter sensor had shorted out so no stations could help me out. I took it by and Shawn, the customer service advisor, greeted me kindly and had a mechanic replace the circuit on the spot and free of charge! Amazing. I was able to get my test and my new tags with no issues.I brought my car back for serious brake work that was overdue. They got everything done in two days! They even provided a loaner car so we weren’t stranded. This place provides great customer service, including rides to and from the shop if you need it, good communication with the customer, and quality work. Car runs great! I don’t know how they compare price-wise to other places, but that matters less to me for a big job like brakes. I want it done well. This is the place to go. It’s off the beaten path near Costco in East Portland but it’ll be worth it. I’ll be back for sure.

I do not pretend to know a whole lot about car stuff. Luckily, AG Automotive is a place that knows a heck of a lot about cars, and has great customer service to boot. They helped me out when my car suddenly wouldnt start, and kept me updated during the whole diagnostic process. Their rental car was pretty inexpensive and my final bill came in quite a bit under the estimate. Im very pleased with their service, and I plan on making this my go-to place for car service and repair!

This shop is awesome! I brought my 2000 f250 super duty 4x4 for an inspection and repair of a fuel leak. The inspection was the most comprehensive Ive ever had. They identified and fixed the fuel leak quickly. I had them do the work for most of the identified issues. They are quick with repairs and test drove vehicle to assure results. I bought this vehicle to get around in during winter and i appreciate the work done. Just drove to Newport and back last weekend and truck is running great! Major improvement from before. Thank you.

2 words come to mind when I think of my experience here, Efficiency and communication. In general they really just went above and beyond my expectations for an auto shop experience. I came across them online looking up auto shops that offered DEQ emissions tests since the stations are currently closed and I know I also needed some work done to pass and keep my registration valid. I’m currently working as a delivery driver in my personal car so it was imperative I get this handled ASAP. Everything from calling me and keeping me updated on the work to the complementary ride home, sanitizing my car, extra engine cleaning they did for free and getting this all handled and me passing DEQ on time to keep working was a great experience and I highly recommend them.

In addition, Shawn went online and took care of my vehicle registration renewal after getting the emissions compliance certificate . All in a few minutes with no appointment. AG picked up and delivered my girlfriends car once they changed the oil. The were right on time to pick the car up, they even cover the seat and wear gloves while in your car. I was surprised how much they did during a oil change. During the oil change they even informed me about a light that was burnt out and didnt even try to up sell me on it like other shops do. Where do I begin? I had saw an advertisement from AG Automotive offering a free oil change for healthcare workers during this trying time with Covid-19. From the beginning with scheduling an appointment, their customer service was immensely compassionate, and outstanding. Their technology is up-to-date with the upmost understanding of the details of your vehicle. AG Automotive went way beyond my services of my free oil change. I had a light out and several other issues that their expert mechanics found and they fixed them all for free!!! I was so relieved and grateful that my heart was humbled. I found my new mechanic forever. Their integrity and professionalism is what we all need these days AG automotive is hands down the best.

How did I not know about DEQ Too? I went to AG Automotive and got the emissions test and they sent in the results (passed😊) and they took care of the registration too. Id been waiting for the DEQ to reopen and then found AG.So easy, great service. This is the way to do it! Forget going to the DEQ.

Ripp off. And they would not give me an itemized price breakdown like you get at every other auto shop. Seems suspect.

I do not recommend this auto repair shop. Invoices lack transparency, were padded with fees for services/materials not rendered and management failed to provide updates. My story: First visit I was charged the maximum amount quoted which was $326 for approximately 2 hours of diagnostic work. I did not request but received a free courtesy inspection which took another 2 hours. I was told the inspection uncovered multiple issues needing repair, however, I knew these issues were not problematic. After I complained, the manager agreed to split the $326 but only if I agreed to let them perform the work needed to resolve the original issue. I was quoted $570 for installation of rebuilt part which would take 5-6 working days. It took 2 weeks and I was charged $655. During those 2 weeks, I initiated all calls even though I requested to be updated. BEWARE: Neither of the invoices I received were broken down separating the individual costs for labor, fees and parts which provides them the opportunity to embed additional cost. I was told their computer system did not allow them to separate costs, a deceitful practice which has become all too common.

Very helpful, got my DEQ certification and sent to DMV in just minutes. Bryan was professional and friendly, we actually spent more time talking about and showing pics of our respective dogs than the whole certification time took.Theyd recently remodeled the interior of the office area and I was pleasantly surprised at how tidy and welcoming it all was.

Even my first time in the shop was a five dollar buy, an easy fix! I was treated like I was spending thousands of dollars thank you for your knowledge and your professionalism and I will be back!

Great experience here. Very thorough when going through my LMM Duramax, they made sure to inspect every part of my vehicle and were upfront about all of the mechanical issues. They did a great job repairing all of the major and minor issues that my vehicle had. 5 stars to this shop. 👍

Phenomenal experience start to finish after we put gasoline in our diesel truck. Excellent communication, documentation, speediness, and final product. Online inspection documentation with pictures of everything found. Also coordinated the tow for us and scheduled an appt. for us for a warranty shock replacement elsewhere. Clearly a large shop built for customer satisfaction. Well be back.

I have an 82 Toyota diesel pickup, which I absolutely love & hope to keep on the road for years. After my glow plugs started to fail, I had to to shop around for an auto mechanic for the first time. Reading lukewarm Google reviews about AG Diesel, I had some trepidation about bringing my truck here, but ultimately decided I wanted to bring it to a diesel-specific shop.I have no regrets about bringing my vehicle here; the service was very thorough, & all technicians & employees professional, polite, communicative, & knowledgeable. The diagnostics that were performed were indeed meticulous, as other customers have pointed out, but having such a clear indication of existing & potential problems makes it easy for me to plan for future repairs, & make informed decisions about my trucks service.Due to the lack of availability of parts, my repair ended up being very expensive. However, the mechanics went above & beyond to retrofit my truck with newer, more reliable components. The budget was clearly communicated, so I knew exactly what to expect.I fully anticipate bringing my truck back here for any repair & service, mostly for anything engine-specific--I may try to compare prices with other shops for non-engine services. I cant currently speak to how competitive their prices are in comparison, but I feel like my vehicle is in good hands. If my experience is at all indicative of their business, I feel they ought to deserve more positive reviews, & customers should feel confident that AG Diesel is a competent & qualified business.

AG Automotive was very professional servicing my 2004 Dodge 4x4 diesel truck. It broke down on the freeway and I had it towed to AG Auto based on someone’s recommendation (break down was across town from my home). Kirk was there to greet me at the door, no problem getting into a service bay and work started the next morning. They did a thorough vehicle inspection and kept in touch via my preferred method (text). I was informed of the estimated costs as inspection and work progressed and we easily agreed on scope of work. Final cost came in slightly below the latest estimate. Diesel trucks are not cheap for parts or labor but for that you expect professional grade work. AG Automotive did not disappoint and I am very happy with the prompt excellent work. Kirk was super easy to work with and his mechanics are great (never met them but their work says everything). I’ve had work done by great service departments and incompetent wrenchers. AG Automotive is top notch.

Walked in for a DEQ test. Everything was done in minutes and they even take care of all the DMV requirements for you on site! So easy!

Weve used AG Diesel for over 10 years and they have always done an excellent job taking care of us. Besides doing the agreed upon work quickly and at a fair price they also do the little things that make you feel like you picked the right mechanic shop, like when I picked up my truck and seeing how clean it was inside. Great team and outstanding shop for diesel owners. I needed my turbo replaced and now its running buttery smooth like new. Kirk was my lead service manager and he did a awesome job explaining all my options and services. I was previously taking my car to a shop nearly 3 hours away in Eugene (I live in Hillsboro) because I couldnt find a good local diesel specialist. AG Automotive runs a tight ship and will definitely be getting more of my business in the future.

$2066 Rear drum brake jobPros: Extremely nice and personable staff. Extremely thorough inspection for $100Cons: Extremely expensive and not as through as Id hoped for the money! After inspection I was told I need a complete rear brake job $2066 just for the rear DRUM brakes. Then after they did that I was told that the brakes are still soft and the real issue is the master cylinder and brake booster and wanted another $800. I said no and did it myself. Brakes work great now! Dont get me wrong, they did a clean job for $2066 on the rear brakes.After I paid and drove home, the auto trans was kicking really hard between gears. I called them and they wanted me to bring it back for them to check fluid level. Fluids were fine but then I got under the truck I saw the problem was they forgot to plug transcommand module back in and the cord was just dangling there.Given to do over I would gotten the inspection list and shopped around. Im not trying to disparage the shop, only to relate my experience there.

Needed to renew my registration and all the DEQ sites were closed to to COVID19, found AG online open. No waiting, fast friendly service. In and out in 15 mins.

We bought a ‘06 F250 diesel last year and knew we were going to build a close relationship with a maintenance shop somewhere. AGDiesel rose to the top of the list after visiting a few other known facilities. AG is a full service house - they will do everything from cleaning your windshield to complete motor rebuilds. We had a good deal of work done to get our truck into reliable shape. The work wasn’t cheap, and we could have ignored a few of the recommendations, but we have had solid reliable performance since the work was done. We have had the truck a year and about 10k miles now, and we still like these guys. We run a small farm and use the truck a variety of tasks from picking up parts in town to hauling several tons hay and livestock. Lance is our man, and is very thorough when explaining what’s going on. He takes the time to make sure we understand why we’re investing in the work. The truck comes out of the shop looking good, working correctly (and maintaining its resale value)!
