Best electronics store in Maine. This is my first stop from now on for all things electric.
Good people very welcome and have a lot of electronic part...Thank you anf nice to make business with you.
Wonderful parts for us. Tinkerers.....
Every time I need something obscure I end up calling the big guys- kl jack, grainger, etc. Im not sure when I will learn to call HR first. Not only do they actually know what the heck they are talking about, but they always have had a good solution for me regardless of my endlessly unique electrical issues. Also- where else can you buy 8 diameter heat shrink? Cant speak highly enough.
Recommended by Radio Shack (of all places) to contact for repair of a retro clock radio belonging.Calling them up, glad to think Id found a reputable repair store, the guy who answered was so dismissive in his town that it came off as obnoxious. Before I could finish my sentence about having a clock radio I needed repaired, I heard him say NOPE. He then said We dont do it. I asked him if he could recommend anyone in the area... you know, since he runs a RADIO ELECTRONICS PARTS STORE... and again, without pausing to think, I was given the brush off.I realize it wasnt this businesss job to refer me to anyone, but after hanging up, I would have been appreciative of even an offer to come in to see their selection of parts in hopes I could figure out the repair myself, but there was no sense or desire of them to attract a new customer or to help someone who may have been a loyal customer in the future. This place is why the mom & pop died off. It wasnt because of evil big box stores. It was because mom & pop became too comfortable in their market cornering and reliable customer base; not only did the big box guys offer more, they at least take a stab at customer service... usually. As for H R Distributors, Ive figured out a need two new bulbs and a receiver. Guess who I DIDNT buy them from?
I only found out about this store through my work, where I frequently have to get adapters for older tech to newer input/output formats (among other things). What a find. This team is helpful, the prices are very reasonable (competitive with Amazon, in many/most cases) and the selection is great. Going in there makes you feel like an industry (pick one! Music, contracting/electrical, IT., etc...) insider, like youve stumbled into a curiosity shop from an 80s/90s film. Ambiance aside, if they dont have it/cant get it, youre not going to find it anywhere.
Where to go to get the parts and tools to build or repair just about anything electronic. Want to put on a security system, build a pc, a server, a server rack, repair a circuit board, a cool box with lots of blinking lights, install an av system? What you need they have. An incredible resource that we are lucky to have here in our small city.Oh, and the folks are very helpful, have a clue, will help you find what you need, and if they dont stock it will order it in for you.Ignore the review by Joe, hes clearly a low functioning troll.
The staff was helpful and they know their Parts even when I didnt. There prices were great on everything I bought. I recommend it to anyone.
Wonderful place, nice, knowledgeable staff, and fairly cheap prices. They always have what you want at a low price, and it works well. Im glad I live a few blocks away, and you should go there even if you live outside the city. I hate to say it, but the website is kinda hard to use, but Im mostly talking about the actual shop. Lol according to the website the only batteries they have are giant, industrial ones but they really do have more common stuff
Walking by this place, you would not think that behind that unassuming door lies a treasure trove for the DIY enthusiast, but trust me- its there. The staff is VERY helpful and knowledgeable. Twice, Ive walked through the door with an idea, and no idea of how to get it done. The guy behind the counter took the time to fully understand what I was trying to do, and led me directly to what I needed.
These guys are great! Very knowledgable people and nice supply of electronics parts for servicing electronics. I have looked online for stuff and then gone here and paid half of what I would have paid online.
This place is similar to what RadioShack hoped to be one day. I have been able to find numerous electronic items including relays conductivity solutions Etc. staff are knowledgeable and patient with persons with lower familiarity of device infrastructure.
Ive been buying parts from HR for over 10 years. I moved to Portland from Austin and I think I would have had to move back to Austin if I hadnt found H.R. Distributors. I can count the number of times they havent had what I needed on one hand. When that happens I know I can count on them to find the part and get it for me at the best possible price. Problem solved. These guys know their stuff.
Ordered by phone - parts in stock - curb side pickup - done!
This place is amazing. It makes Raditio Shack look like a shoe-box. Customer for many years and recommend to any one. Southern Maines little seacret place for what you need - NOW.
Always helpful with lots of choices. Lucky to have them in Portland!
The best selection around if electronics and electronic components, extremely helpful and friendly staff, and excellent prices.
Brought in a stylus from an old record player and was immediately set up with a new one that cost less than ordering on line! Very friendly and knowledgeable
Helpful staff and great prices
My wife needed a n HP charger for her laptop for a lecture in the morning.Being from Ohio didnt know where to find but these guys tracked one down in less than an hour! Super customer service!
Great service, expert advice.
If you can’t find what your looking for at HR dist,it’s a good chance your gonna have to order online.
Found things here that generally can only be ordered online.
Always have a solution!
