I finally found the hat 🧢 I been trying to find at Academy (black & white Under Armor fitted hat but this time I found a better one thats done in red, white, & blue & on the back of the hat it says Freedom (which we prob wont have very much longer, lol)‼️

The sales person was very helpful in finding just what I needed to start my new job.

Love the customer service... MOST of the time and they actually have ammo. Its a little pricey, but it is what it is.

Just way over priced for pretty much everything. But guess the people who think exercise is the only thing to life they think those prices are ok. Brand names are just the same as most clothes. But especially coming out of pandemic and people trying to recoup its just not right.

Very helpful, yet they did not have what needed, then again I may be looking for something that is not in stores.

Great store for ALL the sporty things you can imagine. Equipment, apparel, accessories, and more. They have a friendly staff who can help you with any questions you have. They usually need to open another register, but management jumps in when the line gets too far back.

Academy is great. I dont get there often enough. Its so clean and the staff is very helpful. I live about 30 miles from the store so my visits there are not frequent enough. Love Academy!!!

Everything was good except the gun section, the wait was long and they didnt have a good variety to choose from.

Great merchandise. Horrible place to shop if you care about customer service. No one ever speaks to you, wants to help when asked and the shoe department personnel scatter like roaches when they see you. If you ask for help they are barely polite about it. The cashiers are great and friendly. Other than them youre on your own in there.

Despite being a large store full of products it is very rare to find what you want, especially in clothing. Last time I made the mistake of going in there the network had crashed and they were only taking cash.

Staff were helpful without being overbearing. Knowledgeable individual helped me with my sons baseball bat.

Went to get an archery target got a good deal and a military discount

You can find everything you need for your sports needs...a little pricey at times.

I mean its academy what can I say bit on the expensive side but you get what you pay for I was here for some Storm pants and they didnt have the flex band also known as loose storm tactical cargo pants but I still like the ones I do the tactical version is just a bit thicker material but the staff was friendly and helpful

Academy was great to shop at as usual, went there to shop for some comfortable running shoes, the customer service was so helpful in finding the size and shoes we were looking for.Plus asked them for other idems and they went the 9 yards to see that we got exactly what we needed! Employees didnt seem to care about customer service in mens clothing department. Girl in shoes tried her best but shoes no where in order. Fishing & Hunting counter guy was on top of his game though...thats why a 3 star and not 2 or lower.

This academy had nothing in the exact colors or models I was searching for in stock.

My husband and I went to Academy Sunday Sept 13th in search of a queen size double air mattress. This is after Laura had hit and before Delta. Our daughter lives in Louisiana and per 2020 at the last minute needed to get away from a hurricane with their new dog. Needless to say no hotel rooms nearby. We had already been to one Walmart, called another and checked other stores nearby and then decided to check Academy. We didnt see what we wanted so we asked someone in sporting goods if they had anymore, anywhere. We explained the situation and not only did they help look for us, but then they called other locations. We left empty handed and more than a little concerned, but it doesnt end there. They kept looking and found a regular, flatter queen and actually tried to catch us in the parking lot before we left to let us know they had that style. It wasnt what was really needed but would do in a pinch. We didnt purchase that one as we eventually found one at Target, but boy did the folks at Academy go out of their way to help us in our time of need.

I walked in to the gun department today to look into purchasing a handgun. I walked up to the counter and the gentleman standing behind it was standing there eating something. I looked In the case a bit while he finished chewing and then I asked how are you today and he replied “tired”. I told him, “I’m sorry....”. I stood a little longer while he busied himself with some thing at the register. NEVER asking me if I needed any help. So, I left. I will go to the Beaumont store where there is a woman working behind the counter that is very helpful and very willing to answer questions. Shame on you Port Arthur Academy, making me leave my home town to shop in Beaumont.

Real good, I currently have an injury & cant walk. One of the employees an older white hair gentleman kindly brought a scooter to my car. He was very professional with a great attitude going above & beyond what he had to do.

Let me tell you the Gun dept we wont mention names ..You all need to get exp folks back there them kids and Ole Bobby rude and uneducated...A Mossburg shotgun isnt considered a GD handgun....smh

Academy is the sporting good store you want to know,good variety of everything,didn find the sneakers i was looking for but it is Christmas and they will restock 😃

They had some great sales on their shoes but they didnt post the sales but at the register they where an awesome price...I was excited bout that. But honestly I guess thats poor on their part because they prob would have more sales if they was listed the true sales. I would have purchased three pair.

They stand behind their products! I love this value that Academy exhibits.... It is difficult to find anymore. I will continue to do business with them for this reason. Also the staff and management here are very helpful and friendly... The older gentleman they call coach has excellent people skills, I believe hes a manager, makes perfect sense.

How can you not like Academy lol

I find myself in Academy on a weekly basis. I buy all kinds of equipment, clothes, and hunting stuff from here. The four stars is because lately this Academy has had some young employees (I know they probably all have younger employees) that are not helpful. Ive needed help and cant find anyone, when I do they were just talking to their other young coworkers. Ive overheard the parties they went to or will be going to, who theyre dating, and about crappy customers theyve recently dealt with. Other than the gossiping, Ive had too many bad experiences at the registers. I know I sound like the old get off my lawn guy and trust me Im not. Im very patient and hard to upset. I understand (and encourage) hiring young people here, but its up to management to get this under control! I want to give 5 stars, and originally had 4 stars, but after remembering these lately, Ive changed it to 3 stars. If this improves Ill gladly come back and move up the stars to 4 or even 5. The merchandise keeps me coming back.
