We had a failure with our bow thruster on a recently purchased Back Cove. Uncertain where to turn, we were given the number for EC Ruff Marine. With our company literally in route from up north, we assumed we would be out of luck in getting the bow thruster repaired. We were wrong. Ed, the owner of EC Ruff Marine, took the time to walk us through the repair on the phone! He spent 90 minutes with us on the phone and step by step took us through the replacement of the shearpin. And on top of all this he refused to take payment for his time. Needless to say, we will be sharing this story with any and all boaters we meet.Thanks again Ed.

I see your review history to much time leaving bad reviews online and not catching fish typical charter. Back to ED hes a fine man but men make mistakes he would own up to any mistakes. If these 1 star men would not sit and complain maybe just did something. IF they actually had a problem but they do not so these men type nasty reviews like children.

Be careful, we paid a service call for a diagnosis of the problem that was not correct and a job for approximately $ 1500. We confirmed another technician that the bowtruster never had problems, the problem was in the composite Leg. I tell them with the best intentions that they made a mistake and that I do not want problems just to do the work with the money they charged me in advance and they tell me that in a few hours they will tell me. I could not keep waiting and I will take legal action so that they do not take my money away.

I have been on job sites with these guys and have seen their work in a variety of marine instals and upgrades. They know what they are doing get it done efficiently, keep the cost at a minimum and stand by their work

2nd time my thruster has been back there. This time dropped it off 3 weeks ago. We dropping it off the guy working there said there was something wrong for sure. Paid them $75 to bench test it. After 3 weeks of not hearing from them. I called for them. They tell me there is nothing wrong with it. Come pick it up. I get there and the rude Lady behind the desk not Annie says are you Sheehan. It’s over there on the ground. Not hello, thank you for your business nothing. Rude unprofessional people. Won’t ever be back!!!

Beware he is a thief he stole three boats from us. We had to get a lawyer. He will make up fake receipts for Work he did not do and hold your boat hostage. Call the police and give them his name they have him in their records. His name is Ed Ruff. He gave us a $18000 bill for around $1000 work. I know this is not the first time he has done this.
