We visit this place every week. Love their stuff. Coffee flavored cake is so good.. we even ordered their cakes for our kids birthdays. Their coffee is good.
I have been to many other 85 degrees in other states and the thing is that they all make the cakes with just the RIGHT amount of sugar, which is not too sweet and not too light. Thats why I have loved this brand of cake ever since. Until I stepped foot into this place, I was confident enough to buy 4 of each kind of cake in the store and ended up throwing away almost all of them just because the amount of sugar (and cream on some of them) was too much for me. I couldnt eat because they were all too sweet for me (at least compared to other 85 degrees in other states). I really dont want to give this rating but I need to let others know that if you love 85 Degrees, do NOT try this one store in Dallas!
06/05/21: Stopped by 85C after shopping at 99 Ranch. It was fairly busy with 10-12 people inside the bakery. They had about 60-70% pastry/bread selection available around 4:30 pm on a Saturday. The selection were all individually wrapped in plastic. It’s been that way way for awhile during the pandemic. The line was a little bit slow for drinks and check out.
I was the only customer in the bakery, 4 employees working behind the counter, 2 of which were at the register to take orders. I stood in front of the register, waiting to order while the two employees carried on a personal conversation. It took 3-4 minutes to be recognized and after taking my drink order...and preparing it...neither employee smiled nor said thank you. This was the most unfriendly staff I have seen in any Plano store. Obviously this staff and owner are not interested in clients or quality service. I wont be surprised if this location does not survive these tough business days. Once and done for this client.
Freshly baked Taiwanese breads and buns! It’s a fun place to take out of town guests because they can pick their own pastries from a huge selection. My favorite is the pork floss bread, and the hot dog bread! One is filling enough for breakfast or small meal. Their cakes and desserts look so pretty also, but I haven’t tried.
Bakery items are out of this world. I love the guava strudel, coffee bun and brioche and will keep coming back. The one star is for the absolutely rude cashier behind the counter who needs a serious attitude adjustment. I am a regular customer here, but thoroughly disappointed with the rude disgusting behavior from the cashier.
First time here! Loved my choices, next time will try to go at an earlier time since I noticed they were out of alot of breads. But the 2 I picked were sooo good. Service from the cashier wasnt the best. I said hello to her and she just ignored me and said is that all for you? Where are the manners. But besides that, enjoyed what I bought. Cant wait to go back.
Worst customer service ever. Placed an order and paid for my kids birthday cake a day before, when I went to pick it up, there was no cake!! The front desk says, we did not make the cake because the berries were not available (this was a chocolate cake) and the Baker did not tell us nor we checked with them, the manager was more awesome, her reason was very simple things happen!!! No call to inform that the order is not prepared please dont come to pick up nor an apology for their mistake, this is world class customer service you get when you are already in the store which was almost a 20 miles drive for me. But since I needed the cake had to drive an extra 15 miles to their other location... Very unreliable store that really needs training lessons on good Customer service
I ordered a Tiger boba with $2.95 as the app promotion. I asked for less ice and less sweet but there’s an indian ladies with black shirt who refused to do it with a rude voice. The service was super bad. Then the drink turns out so sweet that I couldn’t enjoy it at all. 🙃I didn’t ask for free, I pay for it. That’s not worth it, even just $3 for a drink. Since I can’t taste it anyway!
We were in a rush to get a birthday cake and our proffered bakery was to far . So we get a cake from 85C . Great and delicious! Love it .. everyone love itPrices are higher compared with other bakery for the same quality .
My wife ordered a tiger boba latte with less ice, but theres an ladies who wears black shirt said she couldnt custom the ice level. She was mean and talked to my wife with a strong tone voice which is pretty disrespectful. My wife was confused with using the app, and she continues use her unprofessionally communication. My wife is pregnant, and she was new to the app, she couldnt drink that much ice with her stomach hurts. We just want to ask for less ice and thats it! I personally dont think the customers couldnt custom their ice level, that was ridiculous.
Its a Chinese bakery with great dessert and bread options. Id definitely recommend their breads over their dessert. They have bread that looks like huge cupcakes but with fillings inside them, the pudding one is my favorite. I like their sweet options better than their savory and non veg options. Should definitely give it a try
Awesome choices of baked goods and a lot of amazing drinks to select from too. I highly recommend this bakery shop to anyone who hasnt tried yet. It wont disappoint!
The employee shut the door and lights as I was pulling up at the curb. She looked at me and locked the door. And it wasn’t even close to 9pm. Amazing service. I used to be an owner of a similar store. I would be so mad if my employees do this.
Love 85c been going to other locations for years. Tried this one and less than impressed.Food was good, but the staff was horrible. It would be difficult for them to care less or be less friendly. And we had to wait for our iced sea salt coffer for almost 10 minutes.
The freshest bakery items Ive ever had. A huge variety of buns, rolls and cakes. Their drinks and smoothies are delicious too. A great place for kids to pick yummy treats.
Im a little disappointed when the girl at the counter wasnt exactly friendly. And Im most disappointed is that I got the big mango cake and put it in my fridge for the big party in 3 days. When I took it out at the party then I saw that mangos already growing mold and I had to throw away the whole thing. Pretty sure I put the cake in the fridge right after I got home and didnt open it until the party. Also, why are some of the cakes are so sweet than usual?
Either they were shorthanded or the team gets lazy towards the afternoon because they didn’t have any of the baked goods that I liked in stock. Three stars because it was clean and the service wasn’t all that bad
85°C is a popular Bakery that is well known by asain customers due to the origin of the Bakery. Their treats, cakes, coffee, and teas are well made and are scrumptious to boot. The delicate cake with the creamy icing and lovely fillings are divine. Each bread and confection are made with care almost always appearing uniform in size and bake. The care is obvious. Their pricing is reasonable and comparable to other bake shops. Except that they are going to hit the mark every time. Though some breads or flavors are not to my liking I know others who love everything they have tried. My favorites are the brioche and taro buns. The half moon cake with cream and almond filling is so moist and soft, not too sweet and pairs perfectly with hot coffee.
What happened to this place? I bought just a few and why are they all so sweet? Feel like Im eating a sugar cane
Great treats always, you need to get there early to find all selections.
I came here today around 6 and got really bad experience with the girl on register that was extremely rude. I was just asking about the popular drink and she did not even want to explain it to me. She kept rolling her eyes although I asked everything very politely. I dont know if she had a bad day or something but if you are on register, you are supposed to be nice to your customers! Never wanna come back again to that attitude.
I tired there sea salt caramel iced coffee and it was just tooo good. Very good selection of drinks and pastries.
The drinks, bread, and dessert is high quality and delicious. I enjoy the drinks the best. I think that the bread is good, but to me I would like a little more flavor. Still, I recommend the bakery in Plano.
A great bakery for unique and delicious pastries. The Japanese cheesecake bites are delicious!
They literally shut the door in front of my face and it is only 8:54 pm!!!!!! I will never recommend this store to any of my friends
Great pastries and Boba. Sea salt coffee is so good. Friendly staff.
Sorry not to my liking, staff looked distant like in a trance not wanting to be there kinda creepy the cake not good to me
This is usually a five stars based on their guava pastries alone, however they tend to run out of pastries very early in the day. Also the coffee by the quart is not kept in stock regularly. If you are looking for that, the Richardson location is your best bet.
One of the best places in the metroplex to get Asian style baked goods (I spent 3 years in Southern China, this place is legit).
This is a very different kind of bakery with bakery goods you cant find anywhere else. And also a coffee bar. I love their cakes and pastries. Everything is fresh. I plan to go back as often as I can. I recommend the salted butter bread.
Always great but were sad that they no longer make cream puffs.
Been to the location in Carrollton mostly. But this one is just as good, just less busy. Worth going to for their baked goods and drinks. Check them out. The cakes are worth the trip.
Hey, please put LESS SUGAR in the cakes. Its really sweet and I hated it
Delicious Savory Buns, including Shredded Pork and Sausage - Satisfying Sweet Buns, including Mango and Berry - Hit or Miss Egg Tarts, sometimes perfect and at times over baked - Not Sugary Sweet Cakes, Pastries, and, Puddings - Exceptionally Busy on Weekends - Efficient Counter Service - Great Prices!
Love the pastries here but they are definitely on the sweeter side. The breads are a better, less sweet option and taste great. Def recommend., very very delicious
Super cheap if your looking to just come get a few pastry snacks. Love the strawberry de Leche drink aswell taste really good and isnt too sweet.
Lots of fresh baked goods that looked amazing. We actually got there just before they were closing but everything was still pretty fresh and the bakery was still busy. We got a couple of cakes and some other sweets. Id definitely come back. Some of their wide selection were things you cant find just anywhere.
I really like this bakery. All their locations are great. I recommend the milk toast, as it is fantastic!
Wow this bakery is the best in town!
Pastries are excellent. I frequently buy the Portuguese custard tarts (egg tarts) and although it is not the same as the real thing in Portugal, it is close enough.
This is my first time having bad experience with 85 degree. Today, I ordered 3 Zebra Oolong Milk Tea but what I got is Oolong Milk Tea (no boba). I don’t want them to make 3 new drinks because it’s wasted so I told them that just add boba for me and just wanna make sure that the taste is the same as Zebra one. I got another drink but what’s the point here? They don’t know how to sorry to the customer and also whisper about me back in the bar (cashier and milk tea maker). I am working service industry too so I totally understand the mistakes. Maybe I don’t say it clearly or maybe the cashier misunderstood. But at least you need to say sorry to customer. Not just talking about me behind that bar. I like everything at 85 degree but this time is the worst experience ever.
This location has the worst customer service. I will continue going to the Carrollton location.
Not sure how long the new hour on Friday - Sunday has been changed, if it’s just recently I can totally understand. However the old time on Friday was still listed as 7 AM opening time on Google Map, arrived at 7:40, no breads were out on the shelves nor cashiers ready to take drink order, waited for around 15 mins and ended up leaving without ordering anything.Look, I under things happen and hours change, but if the store opens at 7:30, it should be ready to go at 7:30, NOT come on in and watch me open the store 👎
First time in this Asian bakery and the items we chose were delish. They were not overly sweet and who doesnt like bread with little hidden gems inside lol.The coconut roll/log had a subtle coconut flavor with almond slivers and pockets of a dense coconut filling. The purplish roll was a Taro roll that was not tart like I thought it was going to be. It had the most filling which was like a paste type filling, it tasted very good as well. Then the Chocolate bread, I think was my favorite because I love me some chocolate. It was light with pieces of chocolate like shavings baked in it and lightly dusted with powdered sugar...yummm. Lastly, the strawberry cake with a light custardy center was cool and refreshing and light. The icing was like a whipped meringue type cream, it was good but maybe my least favorite of the items. I will definitely be back as a cheat day or treat day lol.
Great selection of pastries are available, good coffee. Clean, and great customer service. Ill definitely go back.
So when we order a cake for birthday, on their receipt paper you can put the name of the birthday and the casheir ask for it. When I got the cake the next day, no name and I asked why. The other lady say we dont do that no customer service at all that its like its my fault. Maybe just some bad egg employee which will affect the whole store. I never order a cake there anymore. I rather go to Mozart or Ranch.
Very tasty pastries.
The food is good but the customer service is absolutely horrible, the manager herself is extremely rude and unfriendly. Only came back for the food.
Ordered a mango cake and the creme in the middle was frozen and icy. This makes me suspect that they sell premade cakes that are put into the freezer when they do not get sold.
They have a really fun and good selection of sweet breads. They have other stuff too, I love to come because its so good and its fun to try things. Each item is around $2 so you can order a lot without breaking the bank. My favorites are the Jalapeño roll, the Hawaiian bread/roll, the Marble Taro roll and the Taro smoothie.
Closing earlier than posted hours is bad business.
The place is nice but the cashier lady Jenny Alim is very rude to the customer. I’m very disappointed and won’t come back.
Nice clean bakery staff is nice
Picked up a matcha roll and another milk tea roll, delicious!
Totally recommend for pastries and coffee/tea drinks
It has been a long time since I go back there. I order the red velvet slice cake, I guess both the stuff and I were forgot about it. Then I called back ask for the slice of cake, the worker told me I can’t get a refund because I pay cash, and if I want I have to get it, I have to get it within a week, I lived in Fort Worth which like one hours away. I don’t come here very often. She tell me there is nothing she can do, so I told her if I don’t get within a week, never mind I will not come back again. The customer service are ridiculous! !!
85 is always my go to place for seasalt jasmine and zebra drink. For some reasons the boba always so hard, but 85 is willing to adjust it or make change to my drink until I’m satisfy which is why I always appreciate and come back.3 weeks ago- Feb 4, that date I was in the store just try to taste if my boba was ok, the girl (one of the staff) is yelling at me that I can’t drink in the store. I would not do it if I know it’s not ok to or there is a poster that not allow to that I can see. The whole store include staff and others customers is staring at me as like I was committed a crime. I would say if you don’t want people to do certain things give them a notice not by yelling in front of everyone. I will never come back.
I don’t care about fluctuate good quality. What really makes me furious is the attitude of their manager, named Jenny. I was polite and patient arguing with the food at first. However, she was rude, impatient and really bossy in the whole conversation. I will never come to that store again. Maybe you just lose one customer, but you lose the public praise of your brand.
Love the pastries here but they are definitely on the sweeter side. The breads are a better, less sweet option and taste great. Def recommend.
Really nice Asian bakery with a wide selection of breads, buns, savory baked goodies and cakes. My fave- buns stuffed with red bean paste. They also have a full coffee bar.
Me and my family have been coming here since it opened. They always have a great selection of various baked goods and drinks, including boba.Service is always good and the restaurant is always clean.
At noon yesterday in Plano store 85 c bought two egg tarts and a cup of sea salt Jamesmin green tea, night back to eat egg tart, found the egg tarts unsweetened. Today at noon I go to return or exchange or even hear someone to say a sorry . But the store managers name is Jenny said there is no refund or no exchange. I am not satisfied with her solution. She directly and forcefully told me to leave and called the police. I would like to know if this is the way 85C treats customers? Before I bought several times in 85 C egg tarts and drinks, there was a sea salt coffee they added too much sugar, I found the waiter to replaced, the new clerk was aware of the coffee is so should not be so polysaccharide, Im very familiar with the product of 85 C, because be loyal customers, but I didnt think that was such a treat!! Extremely cold! The manager Jenny’s attitude is worst I never saw.
Great products. I recommend the guava strudel
This place is awesome. I like all the bakeries here. I love an egg tart here. Very delicious. Staff was nice. The store was clean. I usually come here every time after dinner for dessert if I eat around this area. The prices are reasonable. They are not accepted Amex, but Visa, Master Card, or cash. Great coffee and tea as well. Recommended this place.
My favorite bakery! I love their selection.
When you dont accept credit cards, you should let customers know when entering or add the sign on the front door. Chose breads on the tray and they told me before checking out. Why did I spend 20 minutes for nothing?
We were very excited to see 85 degrees bakery was open after a long time and we ran about to get cake.. but employees were not very friendly, they didn’t let us get in without mask and they refused to bring it out.. We understand the rules! then provide mask at the door if we didn’t have any.. bad experience..
Great selection of cakes, breads, and pastries, very delicious, staff friendly
Sesame walnut bread is my favorite. For drinks you cannot beat the sea salt caramel iced coffee!
Good bakery centrally located off of US 75. Their food and coffee is so delicious. They open at 7 am and is a great place to start the day.The management here has done a great job keeping this place going. She provideds a comfortable environment whether they are busy or not. Way to go. I will continue to come back
Very unique and wonderfully tasty pastries. The texture of the roll type pastries are awesome.
A little busy. Many varieties of baking goods. Superb customer service.
Cakes are absolutely delicious. The texture is different than what Im used to eating at the bakeries near where I live. Flavor and sweetness is the next thing they think about when they achieve their perfect texture. Its not overly sweet, despite their alluring appearance. Its a gentle grasp on the tongue that captures you. The options they have are amazing. The egg tarts and the fromage cakes are my number one recommendation. As much as I love the savory options and the sweet pastries, the last time I went here, the bathroom had been absolutely filthy. I wont go into great detail, but it disgusted me.Still, I so do hope to come back again and pick up some cakes for my family.
I bought a straberry cake two days ago, and today tthe straberry totally moldy and the cream tasted sour... Terrible!!! Never fresh! It was good last year actually... So disappointed
