We love going in this place because they have so much stuff. You can browse for hours. Being a full on hardware store, it has items in electronics you cant find easily. Then theres the unique items.

For the first time in years I didnt find what I was looking for here -- a hydrometer. But they do have everything else. An amazing resource. The best hardware store in the US.

Absolutely LOVE this store! It has items that you havent seen for years, and other items you wont find anywhere else. There are so many cool items in this store, that you can browse for hours and not see everything they have. Lots of kitchen gadgets, and gift items as well. I highly recommend to anyone who visits, because its such a special place! Staff is super nice, friendly and helpful too!

Great spot to pick up everything you need right away.Some items priced great. Others priced for convenience rather than standard msrp.Extremely. Ive staff. The place is huge and packed with anything you would need.

Best hardware store anywhere!!! They have just about everything you could think of and MORE, much, much more! The absolute best thing theyve got goint (not to mention the charm of the place) is the most attentive staff! They will find what you are looking for and if they cant (this has happened to me only twice since moving to Placerville in 2012) they give you a few recommendations! It truly is an iconic piece of the towns history.

This is the oldest and by far the best hardware store ever! I just discovered today they do screens for Windows. They have everything you need and more, and the staff is wonderful. A must see for everyone. I love Placerville!!!!!

Placerville true value hardware was an awesome store had a lot of great things that I needed or could use but there prices were out rages I went there looking for a floor jack for my car and I found one but they wanted $52.99. I found the same jack at home depot for $33.49

I love this store. Its totally charming and full of character. The staff is friendly and helpful. Every time I go in this store with a specific item in mind, i leave with it, but i always find something else here that i just cant pass up. I could probably spend hours here really looking around at stuff. They have a ton of random, different, useful, interesting, eclectic, and just plain cool things. Great place to find everyday things that you need, or to find a gift for someone that is difficult to buy for.

I was in Placerville, and found a great bird bath at this store. When I returned to my home in Reno, Nv., my wife fell in love with it, and wanted another one for our yard. I couldnt find any suitable bird baths in Reno, so I called Placerville Hardware, and the owner, Albert, said he still had some in stock. I picked one out, paid for it over the phone, and they shipped it the next day, for a very reasonable price. We couldnt be more pleased.

They always have what you need in addition to great local things, gifts, and seasonal items. It is a blast from the past and well worth your time. While it has many wonderful, useful and beautiful items I do not shop here often. My eight year old son went here to spend his birthday money, he was immediately accosted by I believe one of the owners, he was trying on hats and doing it respectfully, I was nearby but did not know what was being said. My son was so upset that he left the store and of course I followed. He said that he would never spend any money there and would not go back again. Maybe they have changed their attitude toward children, but one bad apple dont spoil the whole bunch. Every child is not a troublemaker. My son was a customer not a vandal, this is the closest hardware store to me but I dont shop there anymore.

This is the old timey hardware store your dad and Gramps shopped in. Creaky wood floors with neat stuff floor to ceiling. They have all the essentials plus lots of gorgeous unique decor too. This is a must-stop when window shopping
