Probably in a tie with Dambah lumber for the best lumber yard in the area. Always patient and genuinely helpful. They have a lot of items you cant get at the box stores.

Extremely helpful, staff and owner!

I am a regular there, I love Paul lumber! Certainly are some characters behind the counter at times, but that is just their stick.

On last visit (Friday 3/20/20), the showroom was closed. On the door was a phone number to call to place your order. I was able to order a bit from the showroom and pick up lumber in a completely compliant (observing social distancing) way. Support your locals!

The most impressive and intelligent inventory of tools, hardware and building supplies to be found anywhere in the area, including many products found nowhere else. Somehow, as downside, the company has failed to put price tags on the items or on shelf edges beneath them: a real mystery why this should be. Perhaps to encourage only those shoppers rich enough to not care how much they spend. Annoying but not enough to keep me away, especially in the light of the fact that the quality of the lumber offered consistently exceeds either Lowes or Home Depot in every category. I will not shop anywhere else if possible.

By far one of my favorite hardware stores in Pittsburgh! Helpful staff, and a great assortment of products. A lot of small projects can be completed with a quick visit.

Only gets a fair rating: great semi-local business (corporate owner, some autonamy). Zinc plated fitting and no stainless options ( for mostly outside materal where corrosion/rust is a primary concern for safety). Lots of construction supplies other than lumber. Friendly service. However, negative points for very short daily hours and no weekends. They were closed at 3:30 when I first went on the Friday before a holiday so be aware.

Nasty mount people. You can’t even return, they trying to insults and bullying in order to not take items back. Stupid place
