Horrible experience, plus we never received our glass. Started in late August requesting 2 glass tops for end tables. Finally, after several texts were exchanged, on 10/7, we were told the tops would be ready on 10/8. He said the tops would be at the office, but they had a big job. Went to the office and no one was there. Contacted him to ask when we could pick them up. Response was that he would be out of town on Monday. Our response was that wasnt an answer, and if we werent given an answer, we would take our business elsewhere. His response was, Good luck. I would not recommend this business. Made a phone call to a different business, had a nice conversationtx that explained when and how to place an order, plus the items would be finished in 24 hours.

I came to Pittsburgh Mirror & Glass with a unique request to shorten 2 glass cylinders. I called several other glass companies in Pittsburgh but every one of them told me that this is a difficult task and the cylinders will likely fracture. I contacted Pittsburgh Mirror & Glass and they did an amazing job.I watched as Jeff slowly cut these cylinders with great care and accuracy. I could tell it was a difficult task but Jeff takes great pride in his work and he mastered the challenge with flying colors. He took his time and completed the job with excellence and great skill. I like to use local businesses for repairs to my little local business, so I stopped at Pgh Mirror and Glass to see if they could repair a window some kids broke at my flower shop. Jeffs dad, Vince, said hed be up after I gave him my window measurements. That was about 9:45 AM and Vince had the job complete by 12:30! We had Pittsburgh Mirror and Glass create a dream space in our sitting room. A really huge custom mirror job that covered every wall in the room. It was everything I hoped and expected it to be.We personally had no problem with any of the guys doing the job, they were good guys. Any issues we had were responded to immediately, Great customer service and would recommend them to anyone.

Don’t waste your time. Quoted a great rate, just never showed up when Jeff said he would. When I would call to verify the appointment he’d say he’s on the way, but never showed up on two separate occasions.

Why are these business owners so rude? Be thankful you are in business. Way to hang up on someone just because you dont offer services. Maybe in the future that customer would appreciate your service but with the lack of phone skills I wouldnt dare let you work on any glass. Learn some phone skills boss.

10/4/16 - Update - the owner just called and threatened to physically harm me, saying he has my address, knows where I live and just generally cursing me out because of this review. I had to file a report with the Pittsburgh Police.Pittsburgh Glass & Mirror, Horrible!I took an above the door transom to Pittsburgh Glass and Mirror near Penn Brewery on Vinial Street. Seems like a simple job, right? It came back a mess. Caulk on the glass, caulk missing from one side, rough spots everywhere. It looks like a Kindergartner did the caulking. I should have known better when I dropped it off and the employee was just plain rude. I guess Ill be fixing it myself because I am not taking it back to these guys.Stay away from this place!

I own a commercial building in the strip and had PMG install new doors through out the building. All work was done in a professional manor at a reasonable price. The workers were very courteous and they cleaned up after they were finished. After the job was done the owner Jeff came down to the site and went over the complete job to make sure I was satisfied. It was a pleasure to deal with a contractor who new what he was doing and actually cared about the end result. PMG will be doing all of my work in the future. Joe

11/10 I would recommend Jeff. From initial call to finished job: 15 hours.Let me give a little background:I had a single pane break in my old 1920s door. Its Pittsburgh- of course we have old school glass that is difficult to replace. We called door repair, window repair, glass repair, handy-men.. EVERYONE to replace to this piece of glass. No one wanted to touch it. Handymen wanted $150 an hour + cost of material and travel.I had called Jeff on Fathers day. Which was a Sunday. I left a VM expecting to hear back during normal business hours (M-F). Jeff had called me back within 30 minutes on a Sunday. He was professional and kind. He asked if I had measurements off hand, I told him no i did not- but I had photos. He had me text him some photos. Once I got home, I texted him the measurements. He said that he would call to set up a time and gave me a quote on the spot- WHICH WAS SO REASONABLE/competitive compared to the other numbers places were giving us.Jeff came the next day early in the morning, cut the glass on the spot, repaired it and put it in, all in one swift swoop. No BS, no beating around the bush, easy to contact, and you could text him.. and as a millennial.. it is VERY nice to communicate via text.11/10 would recommend Jeff to anyone in Pittsburgh. He was efficient, easy to work with, effective, reasonably priced, and honestly just felt like a Yinzer Uncle with a great side of professionalism.My door was fixed in under a 15 hour period from phone call to job completion, for a price way less than expected, and the work was well done.Hire Jeff.

Its been a few years since we used Pgh Mirror for our fogged and broken Thermo-pane glass, glad to find its the same reliable, reasonably priced great service.

ROAD RAGE!!! This afternoon honked my horn at a middle aged man driving a PM&G truck in front of me because he was stopped dead, no traffic in front of him, in a traffic lane clearly marked with a RIGHT LANE KEEP MOVING sign probably 30 feet in front of him, putting me at the risk of getting rear ended. When I pulled into the lane beside him further up the road he was hanging out his window, mad as a hatter, screaming obscenities at me and shaking his fist. He then swerved into my lane in an attempt to side swipe me but I dodged and thankfully his slow, high center of gravity glass truck didnt hit me. He then pulled onto the shoulder and tried to coax me to pull over with him based on his screaming to give me the beating he felt I deserved for pointing out his crappy, dangerous driving. I declined and got the hell out of there. Please notice that Anger Management issues are a common issue in the reviews of this establishment on Google and other review sites. Hmmm, I wonder if it was Jeff Platek himself, the owner of PM&G, who rambles on in another Google review denying his foul language, out of control temper, and shoddy workmanship claiming those reviews must be fake. Either way do you really want a rager like this on the edge of exploding in physical violence in your home or business? Also just noticed one of the 5 star Google reviews of PM&G was made by an Ed Platek and signed by a Joe. Ha! Jeff has his relatives leaving fake or at best third party reviews for him. Either way clearly against the Google review policy. Bottom line: Avoid this company and take your business elsewhere!

Don’t people got any thing better to do than to leave bad reviews. When they don’t get their way. We have done thousands of jobs all these complaints come from people who called and we couldn’t get to them right away. We are a service company not a place where we just sell glass check out our website and look at the big jobs we have done. As for the guy who said we hung up on him. What more can we say when we don’t do that service we have him another number to call. I tried to contact this company for several weeks and the man who I was in contact with responded to me only once a week. He was rude and unprofessional when he did respond. The price he finally told me was literally $90 more than what I ended up spending on THE SAME THING at another company in Pittsburgh. Do not go to this place!!
