WOW! This place is INCREDIBLE, their new location in the West End is HUGE! So many beautiful rental costumes and accessories PLUS a educated and knowledgeable staff.They also have the largest selection of theatrical makeup and prosthetics around. And FREE parking in their lot, whats not to love?

This place is awesome! I had to go there to get theatrical foundation and had no idea what I was doing. Ten minutes later I had everything I needed and stuff that I needed that I didnt even know about! Their staff is very knowledgeable, helpful, and kind. I would definitely recommend this place for any costume needs!!! 😁

This place is remarkable. I work with Kim and Ron for my theatrical and event costuming needs and they are amazing! Their inventory is soooo vast and Kim brings a deep knowledge of fashion and costume history to every project. Whether you are going to a holiday costume party or doing a show, this is the first place you should contact !!

It seems like the majority of customers have had a terrific experience, so maybe we just caught them at a bad time.However.We were very disappointed with the quality of service we received when sending in our mascot costume for cleaning. Upon pickup, it was obvious that many parts of the costume had simply not even been touched, while others were only marginally improved and nowhere near what we would consider to be professionally done. When we asked about this, we were told that they didnt have a steam cleaner and had done the best they could. Why a professional costume company that offers cleaning services (and confirmed over the phone that they were able to clean a full mascot suit) would not have the tools to clean a costume is beyond us.After charging us the full price for cleaning our mascot suit, we left with the suit and zero intention of ever returning. We would not recommend this company - at least for this particular service.

This place is wonderful. I had no idea the depth of what they really do. Since they primarily provide costume for movies and plays, you get a history lesson when choosing your attire. You can find things for virtually any time period including the present. Kim is very knowledgeable and actually hand fabricates many of the costumes she provides.The costumes are beautiful, the selection is vast, and the customer service is exceptional.It is also a sustainable thing to do, as most off the rack, cheap, adult costumes end up in landfills.I recommend going to see Kim at Spotlight Costumes anytime you need a costume-especially if a competition is involved.

Stopped in yesterday was told to call today to come in for a rental. It is Halloween weekend busiest day for costumes and was told when I called back that there was no seamstress. Lady had an attitude. Had a very nice selection of costumes shame lady who owns or works there doesn’t know customer service.

I ordered make-up for a high school production, and asked the owner to not place the order until we were sure that the product was going to be in on time for the musical. I never received confirmation, or verification of any kind. When I called requesting a refund I got a very rude man on the phone who I later came to find out was their floor manager who had a very poor attitude, telling me that he was losing customers in he store because he was on the phone with me, and also saying are you going to shut up so I can explain. Not only this, but he also told me his owner made a boo boo and when I brought this to his attention he said I do not talk like a 3 year old. At the beginning of our conversation I requested to speak to the owner and was told she wasnt available, but somehow by the end of the conversation she came out of the woodwork to talk, but wouldnt talk to me on the phone. The final thing that was said to me was Ill issue you a check (which wont be for the full amount mind you, because I am being charged for a restocking fee and a shipping fee) and that statement was followed by this man hanging up on me. I will never purchase anything from spotlight again, and I will see to it that any of my theater friends dont purchase anything from there either. It is NOT OKAY to treat customers with such disrespect.

This place sucks.. I walked in there with a $1000 with some crazy idea Id find some costumes for my youtube channel.. hes got 55k costumes but wont let me see any of them??.. Like omg I cant walk back into your storage area and get a brainstorm and buy this and buy that.. What kinda costume store dont carry a Squirrel?? Buy your stuff online folks.. not worth your time.. Maybe if you want to be the Easter Bunny, hed have a bunch of those..

Called spotlight and they were very helpful.Thurdays march 7th 2019 drove down after leaving Carnegie science center(5-10min drive) My fiance and i were celebrating our sons first bday and wanted to rent a Red Monster Costume. Arrived at spotlight and thankfully as i asked someone outside the municipal building is there a costume store around here He just happened to be an employee.so he guided me up into the municipal building up the elevator to the store..The store is awesome thousands of costumes any and everything youd expect from a buisness that has been around over 30yrs.. They treated me very well asking about my son, the party,even what food i was preparing (i informed them i am a chef and cooking italian for 85ppl) He wished my son a happy first birthday and that meant alot..The costume was perfect,clean and fit very well ..One thing i suffer from and have to be careful of is buying or renting anything because of my severe allergies and the costume was free of any pet dander, cat or dog hair etc.. The party was great!! Dad(me) pulled through with his performance of €lm0eand My sons first birthday was definitely Happy...Thanks again spotlight You Rock.!

Great selection of costumes, however they dont sell them and it was implied on the facebook page thay they had costumes for sale.

The only place to go for all your costume needs in Pittsburgh. Havent seen them yet - take the time to check them out. Not your ordinary blah -say, oh- hum, same old costume shop.
