Due to heavy rain, my truck and camper got stuck leaving a designated campground in the Pierre national grasslands. I got to spend about 3 hours with the driver and his wife getting the vehicles free. They were GREAT in a very difficult situation.

They were responsible for towing me out after I rolled my vehicle. They were very nice and professional. They gave us a break on storage fees until we could come get the truck. They worked with us very well.

They drove my car and still charged me for a tow so its okay for them to go in peoples cars but they are not professional

Went above and beyond to get us back on the road. we were visiting from Wisconsin truck gelled up and they were nice enough to tow it to their shop to get it warmed up. we were back on the road 3 hours later and now on our way to nebraska. they were nice enough to bring us to get a bit to eat while we waited. all I have to say is they did an amazing job.

Was a couple hours away, and they got there super fast, hooked up right away. Had to be towed 3 hours, was professional, clean. Got to town right on time, would 100% recommend to anyone.

The website says this company offers reliable emergency services but when they were contacted to pull us out of a drift near pike haven, they said there were only two people working and they would get back to us after they talked to their boss. Over an hour later, they had still not contacted us, so we called them and asked if they had talked to their boss, and they said yes. So why didnt we get a call back? They quoted us at $600 dollars about 3 hours later. Its a good thing we got lucky and a passerby stopped and helped us because we would have been stuck in a blizzard with no way out.

Black Hills Towing provided a valuable service for me. I was traveling home when a transmission problem in a 40 foot motor home stopped me in Pierre. I was put in touch with Black Hills Towing and they came right over. Tyrel brought over a huge wrecker and we lined up for the tow.When it was apparent the motor home would not be a good fit for his large wrecker Tyrel did not simply give up. Instead he spent his valuable time driving me around town to secure a vehicle to get me home while he prepared a solution to get the motor home back as well. He was very professional and I could tell he cared about my situation and was going to do everything he could to get me and my equipment back home. I made it home that day and my motor home was back soon after. He also kept checking on the motor home to make sure the heat was running and it was safe and secure. We traveled to wall South Dakota and our car rental wouldn’t start. We are from Columbus Ohio far from home and thought we were stranded. Alvis dispatched Black Hills Towing (Pierre location) and Tyrel Johnson showed up. What a professional and all around great guy. He was phenomenal. He drove 2 hours to wall SD To get us and tried to get the car to start to get us back on the road but unfortunately it had to be something major because it didn’t start. He was well spoken never complained about trying numerous times in the middle of the night and just tried to do everything to help. He is absolutely great and anyone would want him to show up in the middle of darkness to tow your car. I would give more stars if possible. Because he is great. So glad he helped us along our way.

Blew a tire on our short bus while driving across SD. This is the only place that answered at 8pm and the service could not have been better. In less than an hour we got a new tire on our rim and have a spare now as well!

They were more concerned about just getting my car off the road than towing it anywhere. I have an all wheel drive and they didn’t even send the right truck to tow my vehicle. They moved it a matter of less than 100 feet and charged me more than $200 because they claimed that I didn’t tell them that I had an all wheel drive when I clearly did but the truck they sent was the only one available for a couple of hours.

Outrageously priced. If you are in the Custer area and need a tow or repair it would be wise of you to chose a different company. Dont be at this guys mercy. There are better and more reasonable alternatives. Even if you have to call a towing company out of Rapid.

Our Silverado 3500 suddenly lost engine power and would only go 25 miles per hour. Called for us by a local sheriffs deputy, since there was no cell service, Jeff came to our rescue. We unhitched the travel trailer, and he towed the pickup to the nearest garage, then came back in his personal pickup to take our trailer to the campground where we had a reservation. A kind and respectful business man. Wish more folks were like him.

After the water pump on our Jeep blew in downtown Custer on Labor Day weekend while we were on vacation, Tyrel towed us - arrived when he said he would. He also said he could do the work to replace the pump. Of course, no auto parts stores open in Custer over the long weekend, but we got a taxi to Rapid City and rented a car, got the pump and took it back to Custer. That same evening he called and said it was ready, so we got it this morning. Reasonable charge for the work and the Jeep works just fine now. Thanks!
