Lumber is fantastic. When you get what you ordered. Prices are pretty high. Turnover with their employees seems high. A majority of them do not know what they are doing, and the ones that do get promoted and are then no longer allowed to help. Very disappointed after 4 years as a customer. I believe you have lost me to Spellman.

The BEST lumber store in town. Their prices are substantially lower than every other lumber yard in town. Their selection of laminates will make you reconsider formica... Really, go look. The quality of hard woods, Iive edge, and exotics is outstanding as well. Its the best kept secret in town. I bought 8/4 Walnut for a floating desk I was building (first wood working project). I couldnt be happier with the results. See pics below.

Consistently the best prices on lumber in town with tons of options. We drive almost 45 minutes just to go here instead of closer places. The service in the “yard” is always great too. Brian spent a good amount of time with us helping us find exactly what we needed. His experience and knowledge was very valuable.

Totally love going in this place. Something about all those stacks and stacks of sheet goods that makes me smile. If they would let me drive the forklift I would just get a job here lol

Saw the great reviews, drove 17 miles this morning as a potential new customer. Left after one minute, shaking my head at the dismissive and curt attitude from the young lady behind the order desk. I got her on a bad Monday I guess.

Great shopping experience. I went in looking for Melamine for the top of my workbench, but was educated re availability of arctic birch plywood as an upgrade. Expensive, but beautiful and without all the usual plywood voids. The service in helping me find what I needed, as vs what I thought I wanted before entering the store, was great. I was promptly led to the storage shed to view my options. The personal service was the opposite of ones usual experience in big box stores when seeking help.I recommend highly for service and great variety of wood products.

Poor service..I wont go that place anymore.i ordered before they brought me bad plywood ..I went today to buy in person and customer service was very poor ..they cant find half inch tick plywood unfortunately I spent more than 1 hr.. curt attitude from the young lady behind the order desk

Nothing but great things to say about this place. As a newbie to woodwork I am not familiar with anything outside of Lowe’s so felt a bit intimidated/lost going in but Timmy quickly approached me and my wife and gave us insight to the process of buying wood for a cutting board im planning on making. Timmy pointed us towards the best suited wood for my purpose. He was super friendly and deffientely made us feel comfortable. Prices were great too and they went out of their way to accommodate such a small order as mine. Thank you Timmy and all the staff that helped a lost newbie! Will definitely come back.

Would love to give a different star rating for the staff in the warehouse as they were excellent. The staff in the sales area were very unfriendly and honestly the prices they have are way more expensive than Home Depot or Lowe’s and the quality is no different this will be the first and last time I buy anything from Petermans lumber.

This is the go to lumber yard in Metro Phoenix! Hugh yard with everything you could want from lumber (best prices in town), to sheet goods, to glue, and more. Great staff, friendly and helpful.

Ive been here twice and both times it was a complete waste of time. The first time was for dimensional lumber, which they dont have. The second for moulding, which they dont have (have to order it). The staff isnt helpful at all and dont seem motivated to help. Peterman Lumber should be called Peterman Cabinet Wood because thats all they seem to have.

This was my first time going to Peterman’s... it was also my last. Absolutely horrible service. The whole process was chaotic and unprofessional from start to finish. Once my ticket was finally pulled, I was given two very different and very subjective quotes for the wood selected, and was charged for the higher amount. Go somewhere else.

Horrible, lying customer service. I called 4 other places looking for a 22 length board. The guy here said he had it and gave me a price.I took a job based on the fact he guaranteed me he had it. Showed up to pick it up and the office guy said they dont carry that, never didThis mess up might cost me close to $1k.Worst lumber yard. Dont believe what they promise. I will never go back there.
