Been here multiple times and they always seem to have a good quality selection of hard woods. Its a very clean facility and the service is always good! Id suggest you visit for all your wood needs.

OMG this place is so awesome. So many types of wood. Oh and the smell is amazing. They had aromatic cedar that smelled so wonderful. I just wanted to plant my nose in it. They have purple heart wood and zebra wood. I could just go on and on and on.

This place is amazing!!!! Normaly when your a younger carpenter or just starting in woodworking the older guys can be rude. That is NOT the case here everyone is so nice and helpful! I go to this store every single week on Fridays to check out the bargin bins and pick up supplies for my next cutting board project. They have an amazing selection and im going to try and preview there items more on my social media more. Something to remember these guys arent homedepot that has low quality at a low price. Pay the tiny but extra and get the higher quality!

I walked into WS with zero knowledge about woodworking, and left (reasonably) confident I could complete my project. Emerson was awesome and walked me through the basics. I chose some boards (coolest part of the whole process for me personally) and they cut them to size for me. Im very happy with the product and service level I received.

Walked in for the first time a couple months ago and an associate walked me through the store. I’ve been back a couple times since and always had a great experience. I commented to one employee how helpful I found their staff and the response was, “we enjoy working here.” It shows. I am glad I live a long way always or I would be broke. Great place. Good people. However, as my boss once told me, “one screw up can ruin 20 ‘that-a-boys.’”

Very friendly staff that will walk you through selecting what you need, they have a ridiculous selection of quality wood and good prices. Jared completed the requested milling work super fast and perfectly. Ive been here several times and I always have a great experience.

Normally don’t do reviews but the lack of customer service at this place was so disappointing. Every single person did the absolute bare minimum to help. I needed to pick up some wood that I was not familiar with. The person up front pointed me to the wood area. When I got there I asked the guy working that area for help. All he could is point again. I received more help from a customer than from the staff. I spent over an hour when it should have taken far less time. Its not like it was busy either. Very disappointing first experience.

I’ve purchased wood for various home projects over the years and the answers of staff are often short, leaving you to figure out a lot on your own.From the moment I walked in, they were helpful in showing me where I needed to go and helping me figure out exactly what I needed for my project. Attention management:Today was a horrible experience at your store. I rarely ever go to woodworkers source as it is, because prices arent competitive for lumber. But today, Spellmans was low on 8/4 Hard Maple so i decided to come by your store since if i bought 100bf or more, the price was currently competitive. I am building my dream Roubo workbench and for that was in need of 10 or longer boards. I took the time to move every board in your stack just to get 4 boards that were 10, everything else was 9 or less. At this point i of course am not at the 100bf threshold for the better pricing so I tried asking your staff if they could get more hard maple for me to look through. They looked around and came back to me saying they found it, but it was too late in the day to move all the other stacks to get to it since it was too far back (it was only 4pm... had an hour left until close). So in the end... i put my 4 boards back and walked out with nothing instead of spending the $1000+ that i TRIED to spend there. I will probably never come back. As a customer i didnt feel valued by a single person i tried getting to help me.

POOR CUSTOMER SERVICEIncredibly dissatisfying experience with this company. I was working on a restoration project that would have shelves measure approximately 19 x 12 and would need small cutouts (see attached birdseye view of wood board needed).I called ahead to make sure they would be able to make the cuts for me, as I unfortunately do not have the tools necessary. They assured me that what I needed would be no problem at all, so I headed to the store shortly after.Only after arriving did they refuse to make the cuts I required. They told me they would not honor their word given over the phone. Considering this job would only require a skill saw or small band saw, I was shocked at their refusal. They have the necessary equipment in the mill. Craftsmen? Surely not. Helpful? Surely not. Upstanding? Surely not.I strongly suggest taking your business elsewhere with a better selection of lumber, tools and a more helpful staff.

Wow great Imran great selection of exotic and domestic hardwoods. Prices are on the steep side but you are getting s2s or s4s hardwood. Amazing employees who genuinely love woodworking and it shows. This place is the best, they have a really great selection of all types of wood, they were extremely helpful (didnt make me feel stupid for not being an experienced wood worker) and even had a service where they cut and planed everything I needed. Would absolutely recommend checking them out.

I was discriminated against, yelled at and asked to leave because I am unable to wear a piece of cloth covering my face. There is no state law requiring citizens to wear cloth on their face. Apparently, as a private company, their policy is to discriminate against people who cannot or do not wear cloth on their face. I’ve been shopping here for a few years and I’ve never had any issues, but unfortunately due to this experience I will be taking my business elsewhere.

The employees are very friendly, knowledgeable, and willing to help. I came in at the last moment to buy a specific gel stain. Although they were mistakenly out of this color, they were able to find a similar color by sampling a few other brands/colors on a piece of wood similar to what my project was using all the while staying open after closing time.

This place is the real deal. Hard and soft wood, plywood, tools and people who know what they (& me) are talking about.

Sure it’s a fine store, but their telephone service is terrible. I spent 40 minutes holding in their queue, only to get to the front of the line, upon which it rang, they didn’t answer, and then dropped me back to the back of the queue again. After another 20 minutes waiting, I gave up. That’s an hour I’ll never get back, and my 30 second question, which I hoped to get answered to avoid the hour in the car, I might as well have driven to get answered. I’m patient and far from a pampered customer, but that was a terrible experience.

Terrible customer service. Calls out COVID and delays in shipping as the reason why orders are delayed then when you call three weeks after you place a order you find out that your order hasn’t even peen pulled. I can accept slower shipping or things taking longer due to reduced staff because of COVID but when I call after three weeks to ask about my order and the customer service rep on the other end being flip is unacceptable. What it really felt like was the customer service didn’t care a small order ($650) which from my perspective was a lot of money. If your going advertise no minimums treat those customers with the same respect as the large customers. Sitting on a order for three weeks and trying to blame COVID is BS. Own it.

Excellent selection of hardwoods of all types. Not the cheapest prices but reasonable. Good selection of sheet goods and they will give a discount if you join their Rosewood Club and purchase 5 or more sheets. Staff is friendly and helpful. Ive never ordered from them online but I hear they have an excellent mail order division.

Best lumber yard! My husband made new Shaker cabinet doors for our kitchen, 34 doors and 20 drawers. It would not have been possible with the junk wood at the big box stores. Staff is the best!

Today is the last day I will ever shop here. I was shopping in here was last week and I worked directly with the manager who gave me absolutely no issues..I have spent upwards of $10,000 in the store in the last 365 days. Stopped in today with the intention of spending about $6,000 more to buy an edge sander, helical jointer, and helical planer. I ended up grabbing some sandpaper before I determined the following.This is after coming from Rockler who treated me with respect and did not reject my business.The sales associate Emerson kicked me out of the store for not wearing a mask and said we have to conduct business outside. I explained to him that I have a medical condition and he said he didnt care. So instead he chose to conduct business in 110 degree weather that affects my health as well. Had he simply chosen to follow social distancing guidelines their store would have made more money. From this point on I will do all of my business with woodworking supply stores elsewhere. there are plenty to choose from and I only go to woodworkers source because of the proximity to my house. Not anymore. It took every ounce of energy that I have to not drop my purchase on the floor and walk out. To be treated as less of a person because of my medical condition makes me want to puke. he did bring me a catalog for the power tools that I was looking for so that I could shop for them elsewhere since my business was not welcome.I highly advise against shopping here as they truly do not care about your health. Rockler and woodcraft are not much further and the prices are the same for those same power tools.

Amazing place for all woodworking projects and equipment

This place is great, I have been coming here for years,buy a good amount of my materials here for my business,the people working here are always easy going and knowledgeable about there inventory. I see some people complain about cost of materials in these reviews and I must say you get what you pay for, I am a professional cabinet maker, 24 years in the business and I have found that quality material is well worth a buck or two extra, if you are just building a dog house or something then maybe go somewhere else but if you are a professional woodworker or a skilled hobbiest,or you just want some really high quality lumber or sheet goods so your project doesnt look like a 5th graders woodshop project then this is an amazing resource and I am really glad to have it in the north valley.

Walked into about 5 workers hanging round chatting, eating, etc. . I actually had to wait until two workers were done with a personal conversation to get assistance.Prepare to walk in and be ignored. When you finally find someone to help you, dont expect much.I thought maybe it was just an off day, so I tried again a few weeks later.Thought Id give it a second chance. I did. Even worse experience.Very disappointed.

I stopped in today to take a look at some samples of wood for a shotgun stock that a friend of mine is fabricating for an antique restoration. I was somewhat embarrassed by my complete lack of knowledge and had to ask for assistance.Fortunately for me the store manager, Jason White, was more than happy to educate me and to make me feel right at home. I was able to purchase EXACTLY what I needed and not made to feel like a fool!I highly recommend WoodWorkers Source!

This is an authentic store for buying wood, woodworking tools and associated products. It is staffed by true professionals who know what theyre talking about. They have a great selection of wood at reasonable prices and some real bargains too. I prefer this place to the big box stores because I get better selection, much better advice at the same price.

This is a little like nirvana for a woodworker. Best place in phoenix. Good variety of wood for any project, some really interesting rare species as well. If you have been to shops in other cities you might be disappointed, but for Phoenix, its great. Very helpful staff. Prices are a bit steep but it is a specialty store.

BEWARE OF STEVE WHILE AT LUNCH.. My experience was mostly great. someone helped dig out a giant board from the bottom of the pile and assisted by cutting to size. returned Monday to pick up and wanted one more cut done. The people in front said go see Steve in back.. I found Steve said HI are you Steve? He said Yea and Im on lunch what do you need. I said well if youre at lunch I will find someone else and walked away.. He was probably overworked today but a little simple customer service goes a along way. I wont remember the excellent service now.. Just Steves poor customer service.

Overall Great Experience !! Needed some cabinet doors for my linen closet. Jason really took his time to help me and I really appreciated the one on one experience compared to the Big Box stores. Rock on guys keep up the great work !!

Ive been there several times and it is a most welcome environment.Customer service is of a priority, friendly, and not a all overbearing. - an excellent Management Attitude.Very helpful and patient staff - since I am a novice woodworking guy - I really appreciated the time the staff spent on my education - especially the man known affectionately as Grizzly Adams.An extensive supply of hardwoods, exotic ply-woods, hardwood dowels, and the remnants bins (one of my favorites).Nice selection of quality tools and quality components.If you project involves wood, then the place to go is a specialty wood store for the best advise and extensive selection of wood.

I was visiting the area and stopped in. Nice store with friendly, engaging staff. Spent about 45 mins there, making only a minor purchase, and was continually engaged by the staff. Would make this store my go to place if I lived in the area. Later the same day I stopped in the Tempe store and could not have a more different experience there. Would not ever set foot in that store again.

Ive only been once on a Saturday morning. Picked up a piece of black limba turning stock to do a few little things. The selection of wood was good and the people were real nice. I will likely be back for more wood in the future.
