Great open water class. Nice and friendly staff. Allowed my girlfriend to exchange fins after the first pool day due to sizing issues. The instructor Fred F was fantastic and worth the class time by himself much less being now certified for open water diving. Thanks again and we look forward to diving with yall soon.
I paid for scuba training but moved before I could ever do it. Even though they never worked with me at all they wouldn’t refund me. They weren’t out any money either so it’s not like they had a loss. There wasn’t a saved seat for me in any class (because I never signed up for a class) so it’s not like they had to hold a spot either! This is a horrible way to do business! The manager said “not our fault you decided to move!” Super rude and unprofessional!
Really disappointed by my experience with the staff. I live halfway to Quartzsite and needed tanks filled for an upcoming trip, we called on a Sunday knowing this was the day we had the time to make the hour and half drive. Their employee verified they filled tanks so we headed out only to get there and find when we arrived they infact werent filling tanks that day. So we wasted 3 hours of our life and a couple hundred miles of driving because the employee didnt feel the need to tell me that when I spoke to her.
Have really enjoyed talking with everyone here. Jeremy was a great instructor with my husband today at the D2S class. Very informative and helpful.Next step....open water scuba for the hubby
Very informative and great instructions on where to set up our dive at Lake Pleasant. Well stocked store.
Sea2Sea is phenomenal!! Just recently got my open water recertification with Julia; she was everything you could ever hope for in an instructor!Knowledgeable, friendly, patient- she truly cares and is passionate about diving. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The shop is well stocked with the latest gear and employees are super helpful!
My oldest daughter and I recently stopped by Sea2Sea to just explore getting into diving. We were met with a really cool shop and very friendly staff. Julia spent a ton of time with us answering all our questions and suggesting some great new gear. When we make the move to take the open water course and get our gear, were going straight to Sea2Sea.
I walked into the shop with nothing invested and only a vague interest scuba. I was to get the entry level Open Water cert for a Hawaii trip that got canceled. My classes continued. I will be a Master Diver by the end of the year which is a testament to the sea2sea scuba community being so welcoming. Special thanks to @schneidercolin for keeping classes fun and helping me buy and set up my kit.
This dive shop goes above and beyond expectation. Everything is personalized to each individual and they help in every step of the way. When purchasing equipment they help guide you for the best product for your budget and your swim style. They also have awesome dive masters that truly care about your experience and safety as a diver. Even the dive trips they put on for guests help create a great dive community of new friendships along with some great memories and experiences with an awesome group of people. Having dive socials once a month where everyone gets together for happy hour really shows how inclusive this dive shop is with its dive community. This sea 2 sea dive community will make you feel right at home. I highly recommend this store!
Best scuba store in the valley by far!
Sea2Sea is a fun place to learn an amazing hobby and grow your diving skills. I’ve worked with James and Colin and had a great experience with them. 5 gold stars.
My first encounter with Sea2Sea was when I signed up for Advanced Open Water classes. I was lucky enough to get Colin as my instructor. Throughout the review of material and dives he made me feel safe and comfortable to ask any questions I had both in and out of the water. To this day, he is still willing to assist me with all things dive-related. Since then, Ive felt such a great sense of community with the staff here, specifically with Kayleigh, James, and Ashlley. Each of these individuals have made my diving experience exponentially better with more time that passes. I cant thank everyone here enough! Theyre seriously the A team in the diving world and it warms my heart to know that they care so much about me! In addition to the incredible staff, this shop has a large assortment of equipment. This is pretty important to me, as Im a petite person and I typically need much smaller sizes than whats usually carried in shops. With that being said, if you ever need any special order items, the staff does their best to get you everything you want/need. Overall, I cant express how much I appreciate and cherish all the moments Ive had with these guys... Theyre simply the best!
Great shop with great instructors. Colin certified me and Dean and Krystal helped me with some equipment. I have never been very confident in water and Colin made the training feel more relaxed and fun while explaining very clearly how to do each of the exercises. They have a really good selection of equipment. Dean, Colin and Krystal are a wealth of knowledge in equipment. Ill be back for more gear and more certifications.
Great service, top gear
Scott, Dean, Crystal and Jeff are all great, friendly people. Always positive and welcoming. They have a large selection of dive gear which is a nice contrast from other scuba training locations. While they have the beginner open water course they also have lots of advanced courses. Lastly they are super convenient and give you the option to do most the boring classwork online or in person if you prefer.
The best SCUBA store in the valley!!Super nice people, very friendly!Coming back!
Choosing Scuba InstructorsI have been in diving for a long time, left and returned a few years ago, this time for me. I had discussions with many dive instructors with different agencies, which actually moved me to become an instructor. I can honestly say, not all instructors are created equal, sad to say but it is true. Again, the motivation for me to become an instructor was due to the, what I term as misguided instructors, not going to use the term bad. What makes a good instructor? Well, I assure you, if you are a professor at a university, it does not mean you will be a good scuba instructor. An Instructor that travels all over the world does not make a good instructor, maybe a good tour guide or maybe just has more money. So lets look at it from a point of view standing outside but experiencing from the inside.A good instructor is not someone that has 100 dives and takes an exam, or coached to be an instructor. A good instructor is not someone that spent a monthly salary or two to get that instructor card. I review these steps when selecting an instructor.1. How experienced is the instructor, 200 dives, 500 dives... thousand dives? Anyone in scuba knows that better skills come as one is more in the water, but we need to look beyond the skills. For an instructor to have 500 dives, chances there are experiences, good and bad, maybe even saving another diver. The odds are much higher the instructor has dealt with many forms of behavior that we would never see on land. So in my opinion, experience, how much experience does the instructor have, ask if you can view his dive logs just for fun. There is nothing wrong with asking how many dives they have and let them show you and know that a pool does not make a dive. If it is a certain area of diving, ask, dont be afraid to ask.2. We have an instructor that has a 300 dives but does he really understand the physics? Yes, physics are very important and can be life saving as well as fun. I have not talked with many instructors that can chat numbers, actually understand halftimes but some instructors are so much fun to talk too, right? You want and need an instructor that actually knows, not talks but knows physics as related to scuba. Most instructors I have encountered the words SAC but get lost when you get into RMV, Air Consumption at depth.. It does not mean they are a bad instructor, just would not be my best choice for sure. We as divers, even in Open Water hear the phrase planning a dive but do you really learn how to plan a dive? Its very simple and fun so it should be taught in Open Water in my opinion. We do have new people, scared, show them, let them spend a little more time in the classroom to play the game, let them plan the air for another student see if the student has enough air.3. What about the personality, the character? This is very important. If you run into an instructor that is putting down other instructors, letting off to people how bad the other instructors are ( not knowing, never went down with the instructors ) than chances are the shops will start to get mentioned and the agency may get hit as well. Its time to walk away. An instructor is there to teach and to teach with knowledge and have fun, to be able to do the best possible in case of emergency. I would much rather have someone with experience with higher odds to save my life maybe than someone that is just a lot of fun.I find this with Instructors at Sea 2 Sea Scuba and more. These instructors may not bring the beer to drink but I can guarantee that you are in some of the best hands available, absolutely no doubt in my opinion and I speak with a lot of experience. It does not matter if it is recreational diving or technical diving. These instructors here exceed my expectations and my expectations are extremely high. you will find the experience, the knowledge and the character needed to be the best.
Went in to rent a tank and was very surprised on how well stocked the shop was. I picked up two accessories at great prices. Had a great conversation with the guys. Very good experience!
Got my open water certification from Colin from this shop. He is super friendly and very helpful. Sea 2 Sea Scuba staff helped take my Hawaii vacation up to a whole new level!
Dean certified me and my boys in 2014 (Sports Chalet) and now that I needed to be reactivated, I tracked him down. Dean, Jeff and Scott are professional, detailed and friendly to work with.Reactivation went well and I enjoyed the refresher with Jeff.Looking forward to Nitrox and Wreck diving training on 2018.
I had a Scuba Trip scheduled with some friends up in Heber Utah, to dive the Heber Crater on July 4th. Knowing that my scuba gear hasn’t been used in a few years we decided to have our gear serviced to be safe. I dropped my gear off at Sea2Sea Scuba here in Phoenix a full 3 weeks in advance to give the shop plenty of time to service our equipment. A few days before our trip we contacted Sea2Sea Scuba as we didn’t hear anything from them about our status. When we called, they couldn’t give us a straight answer on the status of our gear, and they said they would need to contact us back. Later that day they contacted us back saying they will have the gear ready for us on the day we were scheduled to drive up to Utah. We arrived at the dive shop and they replaced a single hose for one of the regulators that we brought in. We paid in total $156 to get 2 regulators and gauges serviced. We drove with our “fixed” gear up to Heber Crater and when we went to dive into the crater, we realized that both of our gauges were completely dead. The dive shop didn’t even replace the watch battery that is needed in both gauges. Every other dive shop that we have used ALWAYS replaced the batteries in the gauges. However, Sea2Sea Scuba did not replace or even check the gauges. So, we had to dive in the crater without knowing how deep we were, and all that other critical information. It is clear to me in hindsight that Sea2Sea completely failed to service our equipment and so they probably in last minute just realized a hose was bad and claim they did a full service on the equipment. Never will I use them again nor trust them to service our gear, and nor should you.
The company is no longer there. I was unable to find any door or window that had the stores name on it.
Always helpful and with honest input! And its in a great location right off the 51!
Just ordered some new Scubapro Jet Fins from here. Very kind people
