Today I called this auto shop looking for one nearby my house that can replace my old license plate with my new Arizona plate and I was treated very kindly over the phone as well as in person. I offered money for the service but they respectfully declined (Ron) and the front desk associate was also very pleasant. Looks like they offer plenty of services, and are not looking to run through your wallet (ladies you get it lol). Thanks for the service Ron!

I spoke with Ron over the phone regarding possible repairs for my sons car. He took the time to let me know what they would do to assess the problem and let me know the cost up front for the diagnostic. Once they received the vehicle and did the diagnostic, he called with a detailed report and the repair cost. THE ABSOLUTE BEST PRICES!!! Other shops wanted to charge almost double for half the work they would perform! Therefore, we had the work done and couldnt be happier! My son says the car is running better than when he first bought it! Excellent customer service and quality service. Weve found a repair shop for all of our vehicles. DEFINITELY DESERVING OF ALL THE 5-STAR RATINGS THEYVE RECEIVED!!!!

I’m a travel nurse and my head light went out the day before leaving to my next destination. This auto shop was busy; however, was able to squeeze in fixing my headlight in a short period of time after explaining my situation. They went above and beyond and I highly recommend! Great company!

While traveling from Oregon to Texas an issue with the transmission in my vehicle started outside of Phoenix. I called around and Ron was the most professional and welcoming person over the phone. After limping my vehicle over to his shop he quickly took my vehicle in and started diagnosing it. While I rented a car to get back on the road the same day, he was very communicative and had the vehicle diagnosed and priced by the next morning.Ron and team stand out as genuine and caring about their customers and community. If I lived in Phoenix I would take my vehicle there for all my repair and maintenance needs.

I came in with a nail in my tire and they get me in right a way and fixed it. Reasonably priced too.

Nice enough staff but almost too nice. I think their focus on promising ideal turn around times may be jeopardizing the old saying of Dont over-promise and under-deliver. Although they completed the repairs as requested, their time quote was waay off. I get it, theyre busy, but we all are. It would have been far more convenient to know when my car was done rather than waiting for hours after being promised.

Very pleasant and will return. Thankful for keeping up with the everything that needs to be done. Will refer others.

My check engine light was on and I needed emissions soon. So my boyfriend looked up a place near by and I am VERY pleased with how it went. They did the diagnostic, gave me several different issues and instead of trying to squeeze money & be shady and tell me I needed everything fixed. They were very honest about which was more important and gave us a very good price for it. They were very communicative on the time frame, even if was took a day longer, they always called. He was very informative when I asked questions instead of talking down to me for being a girl and asking lol. I would HIGHLY recommend them to anyone who asked for a place to go. Thank you guys :)

I was a customer for two years until one time when they told me that I needed further repairs, even after the car had spent several days in the shop. I called to tell them that I was going to pick up the car, but the shop told me that I could not pick up my car because they wanted more repairs to be done. After reminding them of my rights as a customer, the shop relented and I took the car home without receiving an appropriate apology. I will not be a returning customer after this experience because it caused me undue stress and confusion for at least three hours of my day. Be careful of tactics employed by the shop and do not trust them.

Less then 1 star service. Lies, errors, and a cash grab. Had to go to a second auto shop that confirmed Rons error as well as look over the truck to confirmed further damage was not done. Formal complaint filed with BBB. Save your money and stay away from this predatory business.

I went in and they gave me incredible service. They helped fix my broken radiator and gave me a complete “royal flush” of my all car fluids.I will be returning to them again towards the first time since I’ve had my car fixed and spent under $2000. Excellent customer service. Waited about a half hour while they fixed my AC which had a leak, and Dan was great to talk to while I waited. They asked that I come back in 10 days to check all the repairs are working properly, free of charge. Which is excellent. One morning I hopped in my car and shortly realized that the power steering was completely gone. Being a typical millennial, I googled searched all the mechanics in my area. It seemed like they were all same; almost every business had no information online and even worse, each place I called, a half-caring mechanic answer the phone giving me spill about how theyre backed up with no estimated time of when they can even check out my vehicle. My experience with Richards Auto Clinic was fantastic 😊 Everyone was genuinely nice, they took my car the very same day, and most importantly trusted them throughout the entire process. Gotta give props to Ron for knowing my car issue the moment I drove into the parking lot and Lori for being attentive to my needs and concerns.

Friendly Service, I went in for an oil change and I received a call informing me that a tech preformed a battery load test without my consent that was twice the price of the oil change. Other shops and some stores do it for free so it is almost insulting that they squeezed a little more from me. The shop dog seems honest at leastEdit: Now a 1 star review now that Richard’s auto clinic decided to call me dishonest in their reply. Clearly it shows a charge for the test and the total for labor at the bottom. Now who is dishonest?

Ive been coming to Richards Auto for about 4 years now and they have been maintaining our fleet of vehicles (2 trucks and 2 cars). The best thing about them is they are honest. I know that when we pay for work it is done correctly and was needed. Other shops upsell unneeded work and do subpar quality. I will continue bringing our vehicles here and Im thrilled to have finally found a trustworthy shop.

I have been going to Richards Auto for several years now. They’ve been a life saver as due to under employment I have had to squeeze every bit of life out my 10+ year old car. I’ve had my car, my wife’s and my mother’s car each serviced here for years, totaling probably 20 jobs done by Richards Auto. Not once has any of the repairs taken longer than expected, nor cost exceedingly high, and every repair they have done has never needed revisiting, it just stayed fixed. I understand these things happen, cars are complicated machines, but for me, I’ve had nothing be great results with Richards Auto, plus I personally am saving hundreds per month on a car payment I don’t have to make because I know I can take it in for a reliable repair any time.

My 10 year old car was overheating driving up to Flagstaff. I called Richards Auto and they scheduled me in for the next day. Aluminum and plastic doesnt last forever, so I agreed to replace the radiator and parts. Tom, Ron and Eric are honest and dependable. A friend referred them to me last year and it is such a relief to trust your mechanic! Besides that they are warm and hospitable too.Cars are like people, things just wear out. This time it was replacing the original heater hose and rack and pinon was leaking. The only addition from the original estimate was small because there was evidence of leaking that they found while doing this work. I am confident and happy with the integrity and fairness of these people.

My car, a Buick skylark 1997 failed when I was in Phoenix.Started and stalled, anti-theft system issue. I met with previous mechanics before when I had the issue and really nobody can diagnose it beside change the ignition switch, Sir what I did a few times without resolving the situation. This time I was really stuck.I looked the web to find a place and bet on Richards Auto Clinic. I met Ron and Mike, and these two gray hair gentlemen gave me a new insight on what was wrong. They could not fix it and were straight since the beginning. They could not find the parts, not manufactured anymore,...but they find THE place were they still could find the obsolete parts and fix it. They updated me regularly of the progress. I live in Prescott and decided to to go camping up on Mingus Mountain. My car broke down quite some miles down the dirt road. I had smoke coming out from under the hood and thought I was going to have to walk out with my two children. Thankfully two cars stopped and Eric was in one of them! He examined my car, took out his tools, and repaired it right then and there so that I could drive back into town. If you was able to fix my car in the middle of nowhere and only with the tools that he had in his vehicle, I cant even imagine what they are capable of in the shop! Having not been able to complete the emissions test on my car do to a piece of tape being on some wires, I dropped in to Richards Auto Body randomly on a Friday afternoon. I was greeted by Tom. He was very pleasant and helped me with my issue. He took time out of his day to help me without an appointment and I was able to get my emissions test taken care of that day. Ron, Eric and their team inspected my 2000 Pathfinder and recommended service that needed to be done to keep my car running and the extended warranty in effect. No surprises, and a fair price for all the needed maintenance. Gave me an upfront price and held to it. A nice bonus on top of the work was that they gave a 24mon or 24k mileage warranty on parts and labor. Most shops that I know only give a 12 mon.Very happy with their work. Thanks guys!

My family has been taking our cars and vans to Richards Auto Clinic for over 20 years. They keep them running; from changing the oil to the larger, car-threatening problems, they have fixed every one. They are courteous and fair. I have found that the original estimate they give is generally correct. For the few times that something more extensive needed to be done, we get a phone call detailing that problem and giving us the choice of whether to continue or not. They are simply the best car place in town. I did have to give you a good vote on the appeal, only because I have been to Toyotas waiting room and it has a coffee bar.

My one and only auto repair shop where they not only build a great rapport with their customers, but know your cars quirks. I had been away for awhile, but they still managed to reach out and discuss my upcoming repair needs. Most places repair your car, then you are out of there (cha ching), not letting you know if something else is wrong or to watch for before it gets bad and you only find out when your vehicle becomes disabled. I recently went in and the service was as always… GREAT, as with Rosco (best dog ever). Ron and Mike proactively discuss my repair needs so I can effectively budget for it as well as showing me where the problem is located on my vehicle. This takes the sting out of the cost of any repair or maintenance on a vehicle. I will never go back to the dealership again. I brought my car into Richards Auto Clinic back in January and I havent had any residual issues since (knock on wood). Overall, everyone is super friendly and the prices are fair. Having moved from NY, I was very hesitant about trying a new mechanic but Im glad I found Richards. They are now part of my Phoenix go-to family and wouldnt trade them.

Always friendly service and good prices. I am confident they know what they are doing and would not try to take advantage of me.

I went there a couple months ago based on these reviews looking for a reliable mechanic.Unfortunately I had a bad experience, I asked for my brakes to be fixed, an oil change, and my power windows to be diagnosed because the would not open. I dropped it off at 8 am and at 12 pm I got a call with the diagnosis on my brakes and I told him to go ahead. I had to call 10 mins before closing and ask if my car was done and he told me I am done with the work but I like to take my time and close up the car right. So I agreed I would pick it up in the morning. In the morning I had to wait 15 mins to get my car ready. And I was told he was trying out one method of fixing the brakes and if I still have problems I need to bring it back. He did not diagnose my windows at all even though he put it in my ticket as free work he completed, he added on a $50 tire rotation and in my opinion the oil change was overpriced.This month I went to discount tires for my free tire rotation and was informed that my tires were installed incorrectly and I required a new set of tires.Dont recommend wasting time with this place.

The people were kind, the service was quick, and I didnt feel worried like I do at some places getting my car worked on. You can tell these guys go above and beyond. If I have more work done, itll be here for sure.

After reading these reviews then going to receive service, Ive come to the conclusion that a good 90% of these reviews are fake. Dont get me wrong, these people have great customer relations, but I think that its just an intentional distraction from their excessive price gouging.Unfortunately I didnt speak to my brother about my auto issues until later that night. I gave him a brief description of what kind of problems the car was having and off the top of his head, he gave me the same diagnosis that these guys charged me the whole diagnosis fee of up to $110, depending on how deep they have to go into the engine. Keep in mind, my brother is only mildy auto-savvy and he did this without even looking at the car.With the help of my brother and google, i found out that they charged me 4 times the retail cost on one item and 10 times the retail cost of another item. I went to this place with the understanding that there would be some up scaling on prices for parts (as they are a business and businesses are in the business for making money) and I accepted that, but what I didnt expect was to be charged 4-10x the retail cost for parts and be charged the full $110 diagnosis fee for something that an auto professional can diagnose during a 10 second conversation with me.My point of this review is to warn other people that may not be very car-savvy to avoid this place like the plague as you WILL be taken advantage of.

Its great to know there are honest, hard working gentleman left who really do care about their customers. My wife drives a 12 year old car. It was destined for the junk yard (or so said the dealership) when I took it to Richards Auto Clinic. They fixed her problem for less than half of the dealership cost. Then when it broke down again on my wife, she had it towed there herself & dealt with Ron. She says there was no stress because she didnt feel like cattle running thru the lines. They treated her with respect, honesty and even showed her the old parts & explained what it was & what it does. Now when I hear Blu (her car) needs to go to Rons I dont stress. I know hell take care of her & I dont have to be there to run interference. From a simple oil change to the Right Lower Control Arm she just had done, Richards Auto is the only place well take Blu. Thank you Richards Auto Clinic for making my life easier. A happy wife is a happy life!

Found Richards auto clinic on line his review site was the only one I came across that had five stars on every review down the line, and it was quite an extensive list! Even better the shop is only one block away from where I stay. So I take my truck in and their backed up with other work and he can get to it in 2 days he says, no problem Im in school when its ready give me a call. they do a day early but I forgot my phone at home so by the time I get the message the shop is closed, but any way ... Ronand I touch base and he tells me I had the wrong EGR valve put on the truck and that was the reason why it lost power every time I stepped on the gas a little hard damn thats what I get for using an auto parts stores advice and wanna be OEM. But Ive heard if you cant dazzle em with brilliance then baffle em with bull stuff, and its the last time I go to a parts place for a part that has to be the correct one or problems, well Ron repairs the problems that I asked him to and when we talked he said he could repair the new found problem also; after I asked if he could, the next day the truck was readyand I have a new list of problems that I need to repair, but only because they went above and beyondon their checking my ride out. the repairs were done before the time stated and although I do have quite a bit of truck to still repair... all the problems that I brought to Ron were taken care of and he guarantees his work! nothing but good things to say about the shop and the guys working there... cool shop good people and the price was about what I thought it would be but the problems were beyond my scope of things... Good job good shop, when I can Ill be taking the truck back for the rest of the work I know I need done because I was shown exactly what the problems are...5 star shop if you got a problem Im sure they can find it and repair it and tell you what else you might need doneso you know what up when you leave... good thing really... will take my truck back next time for surethanx Ron and Mike C-ya later guys.
