Visited this Pep Boys to have my AC evaluated. The technician told me the PSI was too high. I had just had my AC compressor replaced and it was not working. Based on the report i went back to my mechanic who replaced the faulty compressor with a new one. I am thankful that the mechanic at Pep Boys didn’t try to do the work but instead referred me back to the my mechanic who fixed it for free.

Josh and his guys are AHHHmazing!!! They waited for us after we got stuck in a storm and the roads were closed. They were so quick when we finally got there Nascar should look at them for a pit crew! The best!

The staff dont wear masks and are negligent with car care. They left my car running for five hours after a simple oil change. I have a hybrid that tells me exactly how long my car was running for each trip, so Im not being over dramatic as I was accused of. Will not be back as no one cares.

Pep boys is where we take our cars. Its conveniently located and the service has always been fine.

The staff inside do not wear masks as they constantly walk around. Such disregard for their customers safety. They don’t give a good enough discount worth the risk. Big O Tires on Northern off the I-17 is safer, faster, and nicer. That’s why they busy and this location isn’t so don’t make the same mistake and make an appointment.

This Pep Boys is by far the best vehicle service & maintenance establishment that I have ever been to in Arizona, thusfar. Manager Creighton and employee Jason went above and beyond to make my oil changing experience quite Pleasant. Vehicular issues usually sound like Gobbledygook when explained to me, but not today! Today I had the pleasure of hearing (and understanding) a short, direct, and very Un-Gobbledygooked description of what to be mindful of for my van. Total thanks to Creighton for sparing this Poor Soul.You fellas get it done Easy Peesy & Rightfully Pleasing!

I made an appointment with these people a week ahead to have side steps installed on my truck and was told it would only take about an hour do the installation. Upon arrival of my appointment I’m told it will take them hours and only two cars in the bay. This information should have been given on the initial call! I used to use them a lot but the customer service SUCKS! 9am and only two employees working! No way to run a business ! I wouldn’t recommend this location whatsoever ! The entire area is a dump now anyway !

They are affordable. they got me in right a way. they always have a special going on. they will let you bring your own oil. they changed oil and filter while I waited it didnt take very long. the only day thing is the store on 35th and cactus had closed but the air and tire center still open.

Dont bother with this place, save your time and take your business elsewhere. Idk about the rest but the manager(or whoever is in charge of appointments) is absolutely incompetent.Heres why:I made an appointment at 10.I arrive 10 mins early,the shop is dead silent,theres no one around.Finally this guy comes to the counter and ignores me.I tell him I have an appointment for 10.Its ~9:55.This guy has the audacity to tell meYou have to wait. I made 4 other appointments at 10 and youre the last oneTheres literally no one in the shop and I was the first there but i have to wait for the other 3 to go first? What kinda nonsense is that?TLDR: appointments dont mean anything here. Manager is something else id rather not say

I showed up for an oil change. There was no sign indicating where to go. A rude man not wearing a mask approached me as I was trying to enter the locked building and said, no retail in Arizona. I said I was there for an oil change, not retail. Be said he couldnt fit me in today and did not offer to schedule an appointment for another time. This is not the way to attract business.

Great service got in and out very fast only 30 employees very friendly and helpful they treated me like a VIP will be going back all the time and I will recommend them to all my friends

I usually do my own car repairs but I dont have the tools for A/C so I was kind of stuck with a shop to get the job done. So my Trucks system was overcharged and they drained it out and recharged it and hosed out my extremely dirty condenser. The guys at this place were super nice and friendly.

Great courteous and friendly staff. A battery I purchased here 2 years ago decided to fail. Within less than an hour, i was on my way. Simply great service and merchandise in the large store, everything for your vehicle. I recommend this Pep Boys store and service department.

My mom was told very rudely to go somewhere else to get an oil change because people that make online appointments dont know how busy they are. ??? She was so shocked and upset because this same person was extremely helpful last time. If anyone knows the name of the heavyset man that works morning please let me know. I tried calling the shop multiple times this morning and no one is answering.

I had a small lift put on my 2003 Dakota and took it here to have it aligned. 3 months later the tires were showing severe wear. So I took it down and after some conversation I was informed that they can ONLY perform original spec. alignments. If they cant do Lifted alignments then why did they charge me to do it? Seems pretty shady to me. I will givem this ~ they were all very nice and professional. I just wish they would have simply told me they couldnt do it correctly the first time.

I called about someone checking out my tires I have two flats and two small children with me. They close in ten minutes and that was more important. I just spent $100 a week ago on an oil change with pep boysZ what a joke

The only reason i am giving more than one star is the manager filling at the moment. I’ve been at this location 3 times in two years each worse than the last.Managers blame other managers, maintenance techs are rude and nearly always seen hanging out in the bays. The waiting room is way too hot, has to be at least 90-95*, feels much colder the the showroom and even the maintenance bay. Last time I come to this location.

Worst place ever my car was inside for almost 2 hours and they said it’s gonna take an hour that’s just to replace a freacking tire so i went back to see what they doing and the employees literally just setting down not doing anything

Need to get a tire trailer. They had it in stock. In and out in 20 minutes.

Went in for an oil change, no appt. Only a 2 hour wait because people were in front of me, not their fault. Always a decent experience. They dont get pushy with the up sell for stuff that can wait. They let you know whats needed and dont bully you into doing it right then.

This location completely damaged my middle console. It was already cracked however it still had full support. Once I got my car back there was no support at all and the gray pieces on the inside keeping it together was gone. I informed the in store rep, and the tech who worked on my car told me that he didn’t touch my middle console, yet when I described the problem he said “it was already like that”. How would he know what anything is like if he didn’t mess with it? I’m very disappointed in the service and lack of finding a resolution. Josh, the manager, just did not care.

Personal, reasonable prices & fast service

This is a large enough place. They dont have all the essential tools you may need to work on your car. But they do have most basic stuff.

This pepboys is the best. Ive had four cooper adventure tires installed on my car here, plus I have a lifetime alignment package, and I also buy waxing and washing supplies here. Josh is a great manager and Ron who runs the service department, is very informative.I made the mistake of stopping by a pep boys that was nearer to me when I was driving in town one day and NEVER AGAIN. My supplies were tampered with from that store and I couldnt believe it.I will only go to THIS pep boys from now on. Regardless of how much I have to travel while Im out driving. I actually live very close to this pep boys when I leave from home. Nothing but awesome people and customer service here; they are very trustworthy and respectful! I will always bring my business here.

I scheduled a service with the garage and the price was good. The service was excellent and above expectations. I will return to this shop for future service.

I do not recommend Pep Boys at all. I took my vehicle to Pep Boys because my check engine light was on. I was told initially by a previous location it was a bad solenoid which I paid over $400 to replace. 200 miles later & engine light was back on. Had to take it to this location because previous location no longer had a mechanic that could perform smoke tests. First, this Pep Boys told me it was my gas cap. When I explained I just replaced the gas cap last year, they said they would run additional tests & let me know the findings. I never heard from anyone and was told before closing my car was ready for pick up. They charged me for a gas cap...again, and said it passed the smoke test. 48 hours later, my engine light was on again. I took it back & they said now I need a $1,400 fuel pump. I took it to a small family owned shop & was told nothing is wrong with my fuel pump at all and it passed the smoke test. The next morning my son was returning to his duty station in California and when he started the vehicle, it shut off immediately and gas poured out from under the vehicle. The gas line had been taken apart and not put together correctly. Im not sure if this was intentional or if they didnt know what they were doing. Nonetheless, I took it back to a family owned shop & had the line connected correctly. I have no faith in this company at all.

The staff here is super awesome walk I. Was greeted in a timely matter allbi needed was my battery charge super helpful with that and then they let me know about the sales going on I will be coming back again and again.

Everyone is so helpful here. They do go above and beyond to make sure the customer is satisfied. I had a bad experience initially, but they really made sure that experience was turned to a good one. As always, it is a mechanic shop with allot of customers, so, naturally you have wait times sometimes, but they have free WiFi, coffee, cable TV. So the wait is always pleasant . Would recommend ... 10 stars if I could!!

Charged Labor for a 20 seconds installing a front low beam at $48 but no labor on an oil change? This place is SHADY SHADY SHADY I. Currently dealing with corporate whom also feel that this was shady. Do not get your car serviced here there are other places like Firestone in Midas and even Sears in the same immediate area.

Quoted me a price to replace two belts on my car. They ended up replacing three belts on my car at the same price.Decent car service. Competitive prices.

I had a crack in my radiator and the price they gave me to fix it was $692 dollars and said it would take a couple days. When I went and called other mechanics they’re price was hundreds of dollars less and when I called and spoke to John to NOT work on my car. He hung up on me and was mad that I caught him overcharging me.

I came to this location for a car show and holiday toy drive that was being hosted here, and when I went into this institution to use the restroom, I was shocked. There was urine, dirt, and who knows what else on the toilet. The toilet paper was rolling around on the floor that looked like it had never been moped, and the sink was equally as disgusting. Im not in the habit of complaining about the state of mechanic shop restrooms, but considering this was the day they were hosting a large, family friendly event, Im fairly certain someone could have spared ten minutes to make it decently usable.

Terrible pricing wanted to charge me 80$ something dollars for a brand new tire I can get at big o tire for 55$. Did not do a return item for a used items use only one time. Cashier was condescending about the return. All in all will not be coming back to pep boys for anything. Also was about to change a tire and as the cashier stated it was a hazard to do it in their parking lot. It is a simple tire change how hazardous is that?

This Pepboys is close to my house. I went there because my engine light came on, and I had heard that they would tell you whats wrong and not charge you anything. Well thats exactly what they did they put their little computer onto my car told me that I had a problem with my gas line and I thank them for it and they didnt charge me a thing.I had been to this Pep Boys Before and bought a lot of stuff their customer service is always been good and I go back from time to time

What an extremely helpful team!Were from New Zealand and bought a van from Arizona to take home with us. Stopped here to get some spare parts to ship back with us. The guys went out of there way to help us get everything we needed as well as some mechanical and tire work which they did to fit in with our tight schedule.Happily ended up spending nearly $2000 there. Fast service, manager was awesome however the place has no flipping A/C. They had two swamp coolers for the employees but the waiting area was boiling, made it very uncomfortable to wait. Its 116 degreea, fix your A/C.

First of all, great customer service from everyone at Pep Boys. Brought my 2013 Tundra in for new tires and alignment. Manager, Josh Gray had the truck in the bay right away. I left for lunch and when I returned I had a short wait as Christian finished the alignment. Love, love the new Michelin LTX M/S2 tires and alignment. Truck runs smoother, quieter, straighter and brakes even better. I will be bringing my Tundra back to Pep Boys in the future.

Employees are super friendly and helpful and tey to help in any way possible. They are quick to acknowledge you even if they cant help you right away. They also offer a military or veteran discount.

The manager (Josh) went above and beyond for us and other customers this evening. Truly a great service and we will recommend this location to everyone.

The guys here were very nice and treated me fairly. I dont know a whole lot about cars but I felt like they took the time to explain to me what needed to be done and gave me options. I appreciate them educating me and taking good car of myself and my car.

So I set up an appointment online at 1:30. Im there a bit early and its not looking too busy. So they get absolutely no notification of appointments made online.. Ok I guess i shouldve called. So next because Im trying to use a coupon they guy at the counter cant help me, I need to wait for someone else. Im waiting, the shop isnt busy it doesnt sound like a busy shop and no one is willing to ask if I need any help. What a waste of time

This location is my favorite. The people here are extremely nice and they really try their best to get the work done. Today I went in to get my car fixed and there was 8 cars in front of me. My car was not starting so if they couldnt fix it today then I would be car less for a couple more days. I was patient and I waited to see the results. When they came up to me to tell me the total, they also inform me that the part they need to fix my car was not available in that location and they can have it deliver from another store but wont be fixed till tomorrow. Literally one minute later, they told me that their manager would have someone go pick it up and they would have my car ready by today. I was so relief. I didnt even know that was an option, but Im glad they did that for me. I been having a bad day for 3 days straight, but they defiantly made the last day better.

Purchased a battery. App gave low price with free install. Shop attempted to charge $10 more and an installation fee on top of that. Management honored the app price and free installation, however I did not have an hour to wait, so I borrowed tools from another patron and installed it myself.

The service is great. The employees try to answer all your questions.However, pep boys as an entity should revisit some of their policies. A fee to run a full diagnostic test is one thing. But the unwillingness to subtract that fee from the actual work that I would willingly have done through this company sounds kind of greedy.To the CEO, remember, to who much is given, much is expected. Try not to forget the everyday person as you create policies and procedures. We are much more than crunched numbers.

Came for a new air filter for my car. Sales rep walked out and poked around on my vehicle. Then started to upsale me left and right. I was expecting to pay under $20, I ended up spending over $70.HOWEVER, My car has never ran better!! Thank you for taking the time to care. My new spark plugs havent missed a single beat. The money Im saving on gas along was worth the extra purchase! High Five Pep Boys! You did good!

Poor customer service, felt like the workers did not want to help out at all. The vibe just feels unwelcoming as soon as you drive up into the parking lot. Feels a tad bit sketchy with the area and some of the workers having tattoos covering almost all of their body. Its not terrible but I would definitely not recommend this particular Pep Boys to anyone.

Great rewards program. No minimum amount to spend to earn points on the Pep Boys rewards program. Unlike AutoZone you have to spend a minimum of $20 in order to start earning points.The Pep Boys Rewards program is great when you just need to buy a quart of oil or some inexpensive wiper blades. You try that at the competitors and you earn 0 points if you spend less than 20 bucks.Pep Boys will price match parts. Lately the staff in the parts store have gotten better at helping you find what you need.Pep Boys will beat discount tire prices too.Ill drive the extra mile to avoid the long wait at the 24-hour AutoZone down the street.

I paid for a diagnostic overview of my car and received a list of the problems that caused a check engine light. I then fixed each individual issue on my vehicle with the factory parts that were suggested. So after driving my car and noticing no change whatsoever in the body or performance. I then called the location for an explanation as to why the light has yet to cease, but to no surprise they are of no help/assistance. The diagnostic overview was a complete waste of money and time, so for those who seek true car care and proper treatment. Stay far clear from these swindlers and more importantly these crooks with no decent sense of empathy for the hard working American.

Called ahead of time to see what the wait was for an oil change, and was told I a could get in immediately. I arrived maybe five minutes later and stood at the service counter for about 15 minutes before anyone acknowledged me. After someone finally told me they would be right with me, they walked away and didnt come back for another 10 minutes. I was then told that there were two other cars ahead of me and Id have to wait. So I waited and they finally got to my vehicle about an hour later, started and finished the work and was asked if they wanted me to change the air filter. I told them no, that I would do it, and thought that was the end of it. The service attendant didnt tell the mechanic and left my car on the lift for an additional 20 minutes because he thought I might want him to change my air filter. I never write these reviews, but this is by far the worst location Ive ever been to, with employees who either dont care about their job or are just completely inept. I would recommend going to a different location because, if they cant handle a simple oil change, do you really want them doing major work on your vehicle? I sure the hell dont.

The Definition of Above and Beyond Customer ServiceI received a call while I was at work. I didnt recognize the number so of course I called it back. It was none other than the pepboys on 35th ave and Cactus. Im totally surprised they called me because I have a Texas area code and live in east Mesa. Well it turns out that boost mobile ship my phone to my dads address and fed ex dropped it off at Pep Boys around the cormer! Now the took time out of their days to look over the package, find my number, and call me twice with a respectful window in between calls. Of course I went up to pepboys and retrieved my items and if I need anything I will take it here specifically. They will make sure its done right even it wasnt their job

DO NOT GO HERE OR TRUST THEM!!!My husbands car kept having issues starting so we took it in and told them what was going on and we thought it was maybe the starter...so had it diagnosed they called saying it was spark plugs and even though we were confused we trusted them. 350.00 later he was still having issues starting. I called and complained and the guy u talked to said to bring it in and he wouldnt charge us. I told him ok and thank you and he would bring it in tuesday at 730am. My husband took it in and not only did the guy not put him down for an appt another guy(appearently the manager) said that the diagnostic would be free but nothing else!! He then told me that replacing the plugs might have been an issue. I told him that if we were told that it MIGHT fix the problem we would have never paid it. There was so much miscommunication and this place is only about the money bot the customers at all.

Hadnt been to this location since the early 2000s. Basically I went for four tires, they put on 3 that were the right size and one an inch or two bigger - a coworker noticed the next day. Went to change it out (return trip), they apologized. Might I mention I noticed they ran over all my center caps because they left them behind the tires on the lift the first time but I figured oh well, live and learn.. Anyways, I go back, I complain about my second trip - and that my center caps fell off. They replaced the center caps. All is well..A week later one tire has a bubble, I go to get it fixed. Then they run over one of the center caps again (one of the new ones). I specifically asked them not to prior to giving them the keys - and they laughed at me in a are we idiots? tone.Anyways, they already had the number to get more so they ordered another.Pep Boyz - go for parts.. Keep away if you need a repair or tires.

Notice Most of the single stars are from women, maybe thats why I was treated like an inconvenience when I brought my company vehicle in. After 3 episodes of being ignored, yelled at and talked down to, I decided my business belongs elsewhere. Get some customer service training people!

Ive had nothing but bad luck dealing with Pep Boys and swore Id never go there again unfortunately I had a flat tire and it was the closest place to me that I could get my car to so I purchased two tires for my vehicle. I drove around hoping the light would go out that says that my tires are low but it didnt so I took my car back turns out that when they put the new tires on my car they were supposed to be at 33 PSI and my tirr was at 25 psi.. Im sorry but one would think that when you put a new set of tires on someones car that you would at least make sure that they were properly inflated so once again Im let down by Pep. This is not some place I would suggest you go and its not that the people that work there are nice but they do horrible work

This is the worst experience I have ever had with auto care. I went in knowing exactly what was wrong with my vehicle and the service representative blew me off. He ended up doing something completely different with my vehicle, I ended up having to contact the supervisor to fix this mistake. Took my car in AGAIN so they could make it right and somehow they screwed me over a second time. I ended up having to contact customer relations to get my car fixed because they continued to make the problem worse, and tried to charge me hundreds of dollars to fix the mistake they made. Ive been dealing with them for over a month when my car should have been such an easy fix, should have been done that day. Dont recommend this shady location.
