I love this Co-op! It’s been a little over a year since I had to move from Philadelphia. Lucky I stayed down the street and was able to shop for food after a long trip. They have everything from organic foods, to chocolate, prepared food, and a friendly staff.Highly recommend for your food needs, or for something quick and on the go.Large selection!
Very nice place for fresh organic, local grown, conventional vegetables and fruits. Everything you need at pretty good prices. Learn a lot of organic foods and can ground your own coffee, ground your own peanuts, walnuts, buy poultry, beef, fish buy pre-made foods cold and hot.
Great place for ethical shopping! Wonderful bulk section and food from local farms.
I have belonged for decades.... and shop at the Chestnut Hill store. I find most of the staff to be very professional and welcoming.... however, I had two bad experiences with the same staffer, a woman who cashiers, within about a month. She was very sullen, passive aggressive, and intentionally acted as though she didnt hear me, then giving me hostile verbal responses over my request for a bag that wasnt torn, a receipt, basic and appropriate requests. Follow up to first complaint was either non existent or inadequate..as there was a repeat incident. On both occasions I had communicated with the general manager, who never got back to me with resolution. What I have had to do, for the last several months, is avoid that bullyish cashier, even if it means waiting longer for the next cashier.
Its my neighborhood grocery store! Quaint little co-op powerhouse with friendly polite community and delicious food. Can be pricey but great sales and just enough basic staples to survive in style. Perfect for retirees and singles; NOT for big family shopping.
Had some prepared sandwiches and hot 🌭. Which was what I was looking for during the Arts Festival. Packed with other great items too.
We love Weavers Way Co-op.Their entrance is a set of stairs, if you are in need of assistance please do call ahead to learn how they can assist you.The staff is always friendly and helpful. They offer a wide variety of products - fresh, frozen, dried, local ... You name it. They have it.We especially love their made-in-house products like their olive, tapas, and ready-made selections.
The co-op is such a great place to shop, the produce is terrific, love the local options, the cheese (mmmm, cheese!). Deli meats are the best around.
Love this place I always stop by an get good fresh healthy foods from here. My only issue is that there aren’t more locations around but hopefully that will soon change.
Great fish selection. Helpful sales associates. Yummy prepared foods. You can spend a good amount here, but you know you are getting quality.
Friendly staff, great variety for a small store, free parking
An absolutely phenomenal place for organic, whole and raw food
It was super busy, small and had a very long line checking out.
Always enjoy visiting, clean, safe, you can talk with the staff about your personal needs and as a nurse its good to find informed and price optional choices.
Courteous service. Quality goods. A community co-op.
My mom lives in this neighborhood and we always come here to eat. When we do stay there we usually eat outside in the back - they have the cutest tables, and little set up. This most recent time I had my dog Odin with me and we sat at a table and ate lunch, it was a super convenient set-up especially have my dog with me. They have great food and great service. The cashiers are always friendly.
A great place to shop but I hate wearing a mask to go in.
This place is small but nice. Parking can be a hassle.
I dont think I could afford to do all of my grocery shopping here, but they have a large, tempting selection of healthy, responsible, yummy food.
Rude and not very logical. Demanded that my girlfriend and I wear masks, but didnt say anything to the person in front of us who wasnt wearing a mask, and said nothing to the mail person who wasnt wearing a mask. Then tried to give us masks, but touched them with their bare hands. Funny because they demand people wear masks but the cashiers touch literally everything going into a customers bag and I cant imagine how many people touch the door.
The best baguettes, bagels and excellent pastries. Great to have a neighborhood grocery store.
I really love the Co-op. Tony and Anthony in the deli are really great! Tony always makes the best vegan Bahn Mi & Falafel Wraps, so good that I quickly fill up my sandwich card. All of the Chestnut Hill staff working through this pandemic have been incredible. Being a member is valuable, I always feel taken care of, and vegan options are plentiful.Thank you to Weavers Way!Keeping it on the hill one falafel wrap at a time,Jacq
Excellent market! Fresh products! Kind of pricey! Good location! Nice cashiers! Clean! Social distancing and wear a mask please!😷
Nice lil shop
Went shopping for someone else and one staff member he was very helpful.
I had a taste for a sandwich, and what better choice or place to go but to Weavers Way Co-op in Chestnut Hill! Overall, the Co-op has a distinction of being able to serve the community of eating healthy and enjoying the food at the same time.
Good quality of food great selection very clean
I work here
Great co-op. For a small store they pack in a lot. Fabulous cheeses, sandwiches, produce, breads, teas, coffee and bulk items. Mindful of the environment. Seem to have partnerships with responsible farmers. Pre-covid yummy hot bar. Way better than Whole Foods. Nice daily assortment of hot foods. Flavorful not salty. And fun extras like Kombucha and local items. Just well run, small and thoughtful. Even a spot outside to eat your to-go meal. Looking forward to return of hot bar in 2021 (I hope.) A fun non-food store next door (still weavers way). We make the extra trek to WW even though Whole Foods is closer. Just feel like their board truly cares about where their food is sourced. Love it there. Been a member since they opened.
Nice co op with really reasonable prices, fresh produce, wide variety of groceries, deli, baked goods, and some hot items.
This is a great co-op. Staff are knowledgeable and helpful. Been shopping here over 20 yrs.
Run out of mazzah on first day of holiday1star .
Love this store! Its like a corner store version of whole foods.
Very nice little coop. Obviously very popular, full of people (its a little crowded!) As comprehensive as it can be, given its small size...cheeses, meats, breads, flours, produce (could be more organic!) frozen...not every brand, size, or flavor, but still lots. Membership brings various perks, Tuesday seniors discount...all in all a great spot.
If you dont mind small market places, this is for you. Otherwise I felt claustrophobic. The workers are nice though and they have quality products although not truly organic.
Its a tiny Whole Foods honestly, but you might find something here that you wouldnt find at whole foods for vegans, so its worth the visit. The meat section is very small, but the deli department is excellent! The dairy and nondairy yogurt and cheese section is huge. The green produce is very fresh but not many fruit options. Its a 50/50 chance you will get a nice cashier, but all of the staff are helpful! You have to pay for paper bags also.
Fresh organic choices, live it here.
Prime exemplar if what sustainable and fair business practice should be. Innumerable initiatives aimed at building community and educating consumers. Food is sourced responsibly and always of good quality. For those who complain about being more expensive than regular supermarket: think of shopping here as part of your civic duty, so the little extra cost (not much indeed) goes towards all the amazing things that Weavers Way does.
I truly enjoy shopping their very nice selection of organic products.
My visit to Weavers was great. The cashiers know what theyre doing. They are kind and helpful. I need to get my paperwork done so I can go more often. The benches outside are comfy too! Weavers Way feel free to contact me. Lavonne W.
Love weavers way. So many items to choose from. The staff is very knowledgable of the products and if not they will seek help. The parking can get crazy both on the street and in the parking lot. Pack patience. They have a great hot food bar as well. They have a pretty good bulk isle selection. I love the spice area!! You weigh then pay. I find hard to find in regular store spices here. You dont need to be a member to shop so enjoy!!
Weavers Way is just the best - I love getting my food here. They have excellent products, great produce, and everything is carefully sourced, largely locally, so that I can feel like part of the solution. Thrilled to have this in my neighborhood
Needed dried chick peas. They were the only place in the area that had them.
Weavers Way is the best! Love being a working member...and am grateful for the extra 10% discount on Senior Tuesdays! Tho I always feel a tad guilty at dipping into our profits that way.
Great place to get wholesome goods. Produce extremely fresh,. Meats greatly Prices compatible with most grocery stores. Friendly and helpful employees. Fresh made foods to take out. Love this place and shop there whenever I get to Chestnut Hill which is about once a month
Great well stocked products. Employees are excellent
Great experience
Nice cozy neighborhood store!
Loved this place! Cozy shop with a gazillion choices, from fresh meats to organic options. Friendly people who are very helpful and ready to answer your questions. Would definitely recommend.
My favorite place to shop. Their prices are really good too (a lot of things better than Whole Foods) and they are really connected with the local farm community. I wish every grocery store was like Weavers Way! A true gem.
Always find the best things there. Their Tantalizing Turkey sandwich is awesome. And i just love their meatloaf. Their hot bar always has a great selection.
Nice selection of produce, meats, staple and specialty items, freindly and helpful staff, tidy and well organized store. Good selection of organics. Range of items attentive to culturally diverse population. Nice to be able to find many items from local suppliers. We got milk from here and as a result visited the local dairy farm that supplied it, which has a creamery and store...best ice cream weve found locally! Only 4 stars due to size limiting some range of selection (we usually drive to larger store for some items), but of the stores on the Ave, its the best for our weekly needs.
My neighborhood grocery.Curry chicken salad, Reeds Ginger Beer, discounted day old breads, my favorites.
In general, a good neighborhood grocery source. Everyone is friendly and, of course, it has the co-op vibe. It stands for all the right things.Their bulk section is very good. I have found, in the past couple of years, that the quality of the produce has gone down. Sometimes, in the rest of the store, an item will be missing from the shelves and no one knows what happened to it or when/if it will return. You ask an employee and they have no idea. I wouldnt do all of my shopping there, but go there when I need an item to fill in here and there.Reposting on 8/24/21. Since the time of my last review, the quality of the produce has improved. Maybe a new produce person or different vendors? Have gotten some great fruits and veggies there this summer. Also, really yummy bakery items.I would give 4 stars now.
Their prepared food is hands down one of my favorite lunch options in chestnut hill. Its an unexpected culinary experience!
Love the staff here, they’re always very kind, prompt, and helpful. This co-op has everything you could want from local vendors! (Especially Luhv soups and burgers😍 YUM) thanks for all you do!
Cute store but very expensive
Always a great shopping experience! Love the blood oranges!😍👍
The Chestnut Hill Weavers Way just so happens to be my favorite of its two locations. Why? This location, in my opinion, is a bit more easy to navigate than the original one in Mt. Airy, but still with helpful staff and unique local selections. Though at first it may be hard to determine which is the entrance; theres one in the back by the parking lot, and one right on Germantown Avenue. If you come at the right time you could be treated to samples of local goods such as fresh hummus and pita chips or something of the sweeter variety. I came for the first time with a friend who used to live in the neighborhood but had moved to Seattle, so they were really excited to bring some goods back home with them that they could only find at the co-op...such as hemp milk. What in the world does that taste like? Ive also really enjoyed their freshly prepared sushi! A MUST for any trip to Chestnut Hill!
This location is like a mini whole foods. It has a hot and cold bar, deli section, kombucha in bulk, fresh meats and veggies. Always clean and well stocked. The only issue I had with this location was I grab a chocolate croissant and at check out the cashier thought I was lying about the type of croissant and up charge me for it. This was not first time this happened to me. The co-op needs a better way of screening products that does not have a bar code.
A legitimate neighborhood grocery store with an eclectic selection and dedicated, cheerful staff!
Great small food market. lots of great produce at good prices. Nice meat and seafood counter service.
Well stocked and organized tho in a small space. Tries really hard to protect the health and safety of staff & customers
Prices are out of line. Too high.
Nice selection of prepared, packaged foods and typical pantry items that are organic and/or otherwise considered better for you. So much packaging. Limited vegetarian selections. Is it a posh neighborhood grocer, or a truly sustainable way to shop?
I love shopping at all the Weavers Way Stores you can always find something different at each one
Great local community food market. The staff is super friendly and attentive to customers needs. There is a nice backyard behind the store which had nice seating areas.
Best place to come to get all the local produce Im the area. Become a member and get some savings too.
Love the place. Im a member. Shopping there for years. Working on being an organic raw vegan. My favorite spot is the raw cold salad bar. Parking lot small. Its busy almost all the time.
I love the Weavers Way CO-OPI moved to Chestnuthill PA in early August of this yearI am a Celiac, I went in their establishment and the staff there were most accommodating to me in finding gluten free optionsI went to their deli and the Woman behind the counter said if you would like a sandwich I heard you said that you were gluten intolerant She asked go the front of the store there are gluten free breads there from bakeries that come in Bring one of the gluten free breads to your likingback to me. I will make any sandwich you would like gluten free I had their Chicken Italiano It was outstanding It is grilled chicken pesto Mozzarella cheese and peppers She said you can either purchase the bread w your sandwich or I will just make the sandwich and have the bread for the next person that wants a gluten free sandwichThis is such a great service I am thankful that they are in the area
Weaverway coop is an amazing community-based, conscientious, environmentally, food conscious business. They are a co-op that focuses on supporting local businesses and Farmers. Their products are extremely fresh and theyre very in tune to A Whole Foods menu. They also have a beauty and body shop and a pet store that has the best food you could possibly buy for your pet.
This place is great for high quality produce. It just makes my tiny wallet cry. I would love to shop here more but reality dictates that I cant afford it very often. Not weavers ways fault of course.
Love this place
The last time I was in that store is the last time I will visit that store because every employee I interacted with was unnecessarily rude.
I love coops on the whole. I go here when I just want to walk to get an item or two. Very expensive but thoughtful selections. Sometimes lines at the register can be long and excruciatingly slow. When its busy, its cramped and too much for me but that doesnt bother a lot of people and some might like all the interaction. If money were no object, Id probably shop here more.
First time there, definitely will return. Great variety of foods, friendly staff.
My deli sandwich for lunch was magnificent.
Amazing. Id give it a 4 (vs the original mt airy one) but the out back area tips the scales. Its a great store and a great part of the community.
Quintessential West Mount Airy. If you ever want to get a sense of what West Mount Airy is like you couldnt do that without visiting The Co-Op. Dont let the line etiquette intimidate you and dont let the Whole Foods-like prices deter you. Weavers Way is staffed and joined by genuine, liberal, educated hippies that define West Mount Airy. The prices and area remains exclusive but the atmosphere, store and members are warmly welcoming.
Clean friendly good prices great variety for vegans
I do like going to the Weaver Way in Chestnut Hill because you have many organic products I enjoy. Your service worker are helpful and respectful. I
I love weavers ways
I enjoy shopping here the food is fresh most of the organic products, herbs, tonics and healthy drinks are beneficial for health and longevity most people are raving about this place and Im one of them being as though Ive shopped here for years. Give it a go.
Compact and well stocked with excellent produce and grocery items. As a consumer owned cooperative, the better I know it, the better this store meets my needs.
Organic and locally sourced produce, baked goods and meat. Also good hot food bar, soups and sandwiches and prepared dishes.
The point of a local community farm and market appeals to me. Beyond that the people that work at Weavers are always always helpful. If eating heathy and taking care of yourself makes sense then Weavers Way is fantastic
An enormous number of high quality products in a very small space! Great for people who are trying to be conscious about their purchases.
Such a quaint store. Great selection of vegan and healthy foods. Super knowledgeable staff and helpful.
I have terrible environmental guilt and shop the bulk items. The store is to small and you cant move in there. The customers are typically super rude and the staff is worse. I hate myself every time I go there. The other locations are so much worse.
Good food selections. They have everything I need
Great place to find all sorts of Local Foods at good prices, all around good store with great prepared foods and happy employees
This is a small but full of the things that youve come to expect from a very good Co.Op. . The employees are also helpful and inviting .
Good selection of organic produce. Wonderful cheeses and a lot of great local products. Friendly staff.
Outstanding selection of locally grown and packaged fresh foods and bakery items. Love this store....
Thoughtfully curated selection. Excellent prepared food selection. Friendly staff nice overall vibe.
