Fantastic self-care products. My favourite local business. Ive been shopping here for all my skincare needs since the late 2000s. Cant recommend this place any more than I could. Their Face Off wash and spray toners are life changing if you have sensitive skin like I do. Sarah and Steve are the nicest shopkeepers around, also. 🖤🖤

Their products are awesome! A gentleman in the store today helped me get new shampoo and conditioner and was very knowledgeable on the products. Also, I have several of their face products that are awesome! They have a covid friendly storefront set up for easy shopping as well.

I recently discovered this shop after many people recommended it to me, and Im so glad I did! I gifted some products to a client of mine and she was so thrilled with everything. Recently I picked up the Lemonder Poppy Seed Sugar Scrub and the Rosemary + Mint Clarifying Shampoo for myself, and they together worked wonders on my hair and scalp! My hair has seriously never felt cleaner in my life. I am so glad I found Duross & Langel and will now be a customer for life!

I will admit that its a beautiful shop and you cant help but to go in, which is exactly what I did a few years ago. However, I honestly felt that I was racially profiled. I was literally followed throughout the store by one of the staff members as I browsed the collection of items. She asked if I had any questions or if she could help. I politely said no thank you as I was just browsing. The other staff just stared at me. It made for a rather uncomfortable shopping experience. I would have much more appreciated the staff to greet me as customer with a smile, but to follow me as I walked around was uncalled for. I never returned after that nor will I.

I’ve been a customer for a few years now and love their products, so clean and smell so good. This store is a go-to for my Holiday gifts. This year I wasn’t able to make it into the store, but their online ordering process was so easy and came so quick.

They make the only shampoo that leaves my textured hair silky but not weighed down. The shop is awesome, with so many things to choose from, and the owner and staff are just the very nicest of people.I highly recommend their candles, hair products, and shower bombs (for those of us who dont have the time to luxuriate in a bath). There is a wide range of excellent scents that are not obnoxious or cloying. The labeling on many of their products helps you find the right scents to boost your mood or chill out at the end of the day.This is a great place to get yourself a little something or to get a nice gift for someone you love.

I have been shopping here for years. Their products are always unique, high quality and effective. Their moisturizing lotion with SPF 25 works better than any other sunscreen I have tried- even the ones that say they are SPF 50! Their bug spray works well, smells nice and feels good on your skin. The bar soaps are incredibly long lasting and smell awesome. I am so glad they brought back their matcha face wash as a summer limited edition since that is my favorite of all their face washes. The staff and owners are so nice and patient when I ramble around their store like a kid in a candy shop. They are also a ton of fun to chat with. When you order on-line, its flat rate shipping for anything under $50 AND they throw in a free bar of their soap. Great place, great people.

I’ve been going here for years at least six or seven!!!! Top notch customer service and products. I literally can not live without them, Especially the fragrance. My skin and aroma always get compliments in fact almost every day. My coworkers jokingly tell me that they know when I’m at work without even seeing me because they can smell my scent in the halls lol 😆 The products here have become my signature everywhere I go.

I am so happy I can order online. I am a regular. I love the shower bombs. I use the decongestant shower bomb regularly. It opens my sinuses and helps my lungs. With this funky virus and allergy season upon use Im grateful to be able to order. Ive never had a bad product.

Amazing shop. I would give it 10 stars if I could. My husband and I found this gem six years ago when we were visiting Philly from Charlotte. We ordered online from Charlotte for all our soaps and gifts for many years, but we recently moved to Philly and now we walk to the store. Our apartment is now always fully stocked with Duross & Langel soaps and candles. Its also a great spot for gifts - love the bath bombs and bubble baths!

My husband and I went in to smell the lovely soaps and ended up walking out with soaps, something for my dogs feet, deodorant, cutest little polar bear soap and a great recommendation for a martini at the speakeasy down the street. I cannot say enough about the amazing people at this store...and the deodorant...its FABULOUS. I immediately signed up for the newsletter and am looking forward to making another trip up there again.

Recently I ran out of my expensive face soap, and found a bar of D&L almond soap that I had recently purchased. I used it on my face and it is now my favorite face soap. Dont know why I never considered this before, it is well made, pure and gentle without strong fragrance. I will never buy expensive face soap again.

I have been going to this store from before it even moved to its current location when it first opened. I have always loved it and loved the products. The reason I am only giving 2 stars? Service. I remember when it opened, the owner, Steve, frequently had dogs there. It was a very warm, friendly atmosphere. They really seemed to love animals. They even sell dog soap products. I live a few blocks away and used to go in with my small, well behaved dog a lot. Last time I went in, I noticed a no dog notice prominently displayed ( I see it on the website now too) . When I asked the woman ( I belive the co-owner) about it, she made a comment about how dogs are bad and were ruining things. She made another comment about not liking dogs. I was taken aback by her demeanor and comments and left. I have had her be cold and a bit unfriendly in the past, but still went because I loved the products. ( I see another comment below about her and the vibe and completely agree). I don’t think I will be back after many, many years of being a customer.

Duross and Langel is the absolute best. Steve and the rest of the staff are so friendly and really get to know their clients. I always went and saw Natasha, who did a wonderful job with my hair! I used Duross and Langel for my wedding as well and they so far surpassed my expectations. They had champagne and snacks for us when we got there and made me, my bridesmaids, and the moms feel so welcomed and well taken care of. Everyone at the wedding commented on how beautiful everyones hair and make-up looked! If youre looking for a great salon (and not to mention an awesome soap and candle shop downstairs), Id highly recommend D&L if you need just a trim or fancy up-dos for your whole wedding party. Duross and Langel has been our “go-to” shopping spot for many years now, when we come to Philly – so imagine our surprise when on Saturday we experienced a “strange vibe” in the store. What do I mean by this – we had shopped at Reading and headed to D&L to purchase a few things for friends and ourselves. We were warmly greeted by the two ladies behind the counter, and then one immediately came to the front of the store and asked, “Can I help you?” We said, we’re looking and trying to decide…….but she stayed in place and watched our every move. I thought that was odd, so I asked the other lady if I could leave my two bags behind the counter while I shopped, thinking that was the issue – she said of course and took the bags. At this point Steve Duross came in and chatted with a customer who came from upstairs - as we continued to shop, and the one sales person watched. Neither of us had ever had that happen there before, and didn’t quite know what to make of it. Still don’t. We both bought something and the lady behind the counter was quite pleasant; but it felt uncomfortable somehow. When we left the store, I turned and asked “Is it me, or was there a weird vibe in there?” The quick response was “Nope, it wasn’t you – I felt it too.” I’m guessing perhaps, there’s been an issue with things being taken? Odd & disappointing – though the products are exceptional for sure! The joy of shopping @ D&L is the products - but also, you always felt welcomed. The sales staff would often offer free samples to try and chat. Not on Saturday....maybe it was the storm?

If youre a clueless gay man with a partner whos really into scented soaps and bath bombs, this is the place to go for gift-buying. An attentive clerk will help you through the traumatic experience of picking out scents and your partner will absolutely love it. Prices were good for a local shop (small batch), too!

Go here for your last-minute holiday shopping -- or even any other shopping when you need a quick, easy, quality gift for a male or female. Very nice products, clearly labeled, reasonable prices for crafted items. I have been shopping here for the last 3-ish years. The double butter hand cream is my favorite (not greasy) and my white-haired FIL loves the silver shampoo. I have always found the staff very friendly and helpful. My only complaint is that the store is so warm! Turn down the heat, folks!

Walked into this store on Friday, May 6, 2016 around 7:30 pm. After looking at the items available in the store for approximately 10 minutes I decided to leave. There was only one other patron in the store and no one behind the desk greeted me, asked if I had ever been in their establishment prior, told me anything about the store. I left with a bad taste in my mouth and it wasnt because of the soap.
