Me and my wife love candles, and were excited about this place. We had the place to ourselves, but we had a great time! Our candles turned out great! They had some really nice scent options, as well as all of the different vessels we could use. Wish there were more wood wicks vessel options, but other than that, would love to do this again!

Amazing date spot! Went on a second date here and had a really great time. Lots of fragrances to choose from and a super friendly staff made this experience one of a kind. The candle vessel selection was also quite extensive so each candle made is truly unique. Super to easy to sign up for pouring session, can either make a reservation online or pop in and ask to pour. 10/10 would recommend!

This place was a lot of fun, we went here for a Bachelorette party. We were a smaller group, we arrived when they first opened on Saturday, and had a great time. The entire build your own candle experience was a new take on group activities to do, and the workers here were great. The candle I made was leather + oak, and let me tell you it smells like what I imagine Chris Evans smells like. We dubbed it the fresh hot man scent, I would recommend this place. Even the merchandise at the storefront was cute.

This was my first time at Paddywax and I loved it! I picked the Glow vessel and the “bergamot & mahogany” scent. A special shout out to Christine for talking me through it and making this experience so much fun! I will definitely be back

The staff was friendly and very patient we did a pop in and pour (07/01/21) it was 8 of us and they were attentive and helpful. The shop is so cute and whimsical and it smells amazing. Although the session went pretty fast it was definitely worth the drive from nyc. Since we did the 7pm session they’ll have to mail our candles to us, so there’s the anticipation of seeing what everyone created.Oh wow it’s only been a day and a half (07/03/21) and we received our candles already via mail. Thanks paddywax!!

This candle is from my second time at Paddywax and both times were awesome! Christine was there to help us through the process and she made it super easy. I picked their new two wick vessel and chose the “redwood + amber” oil for the smell.

My experience was okay definitely not what I expected especially because this is my third candle making experience professionally I expected more. The team members paid little to no attention. We were missing things from our kit ( beaker, wax pourer, labels, scale and a small wooden stick) ps. That’s almost everything beside the vessel and fragrance which you pick yourself so my husband and I constantly had to keep getting up from the table to ask for tools that should’ve been there in the first place. The staff didn’t really interact or build any type of rapport with us. Ive also seen that this was a coffee shop as well I was surprised that none was mentioned or offered. It felt like we walked in the facility and serviced ourself. Not really recommended for first timers. The only thing I can say the facility was clean and nice.

Lovely date night activity. The wait was reasonable and they will text you when your table is ready. The staff is great at anticipating your needs and will bring you the next step (wicks, wax, etc.) right before you need it. I smelled far too many things and eventually I couldnt smell...anything! I suppose thats what the coffee bar is for.Once you make your candle, you can also get a discount on other in store products, and once your candle burns out, you can fill it again at a discount. (This may have changed during the pandemic.)Note: If youre sensitive to strong smells, this is not the place for you. I love fun scents, so its my jam. My companion LOVED it, so we will be back once our candles are empty.

Had an awesome date day with the SO here. It was so fun getting to pick the vessel. Just wish you got to create your own scent instead of pre-made ones. They could take a lesson from CandleLab in that regard, otherwise fun and neat idea!

Ever wish there was a space that was thoughtfully curated with thoughts and smells. A space that will welcome you, where you can craft and experience while enjoying a cozy cup of coffee. Paddywax is a teeny slice of joy in the crazy world of 2020. The staff is warm and helpful. Overall a great escape where you can feel as if your living your best life.

Last night I had so much fun making my candle. The young ladies who work at the Philadelphia location were so accommodating, professional and sweet. My date and I were running late due to traffic but we were welcomed with open arms and we caught up with the class. It was a great night I just wish I remember the ladies names but hopefully they are praised for their job well done. I will definitely be back and thanks again for such a beautiful space and a great time.

These are not your typical candles. They have unique scents and I had a hard time choosing which one to take home-so I purchased three! The atmosphere is pleasant and calming. I really enjoyed my time visiting the store which was very busy. Unlike the previous reviewer, the woman that helped me, also of Asian decent, was very helpful and pleasant. If you’re looking for candles or just a relaxing escape from the world, I highly recommend this place.

Went tonight for a Birthday outing! Us girls had a fantabulous time! This is cute for a date night or pre girls’ night out. Our instructor Tanisha was absolutely phenomenal! She was so knowledgeable and made the whole process fun without making us feel like dummies (“we’re going back to HS chemistry”...I sucked at Chemistry) Lol...Anywho, we had a ball!!!

Nice location, beautiful ambiance, hard working staff at both cafe and candle craft classes.Though the store has huge variety of candles you won’t find any unique or special/signature blends, very common scents that you find everywhere. The candle scent is very very mild and the price point is very high.I felt more craftsmanship has put towards the jar sizes and variety then the candles quality. The cafe is just a place holder (specially the oat milk used is terrible not oatly), Terrible beans choice and basic expresso machine used.Overall a new concept and nice ambiance does attract the millennials and is worth stopping by.

I had been planning to make a candle class part of my sister’s bachelorette party since she got engaged. She loved it & so did the rest of the party. Despite Covid restrictions, we had a great time, the staff was awesome in explaining the process & making it feel special for the bride. Plus they’re taking great steps to keep the store & experience as clean & safe as possible which I really appreciated. We will all absolutely be back.

I was so eager to go to this store because I had read about Paddywax coming to Philadelphia in the fall and it looked like a really great concept, fun, friendly, and a place I would enjoy shopping because I have a passion for candles. So today (2/18/2020) which was my day off, I decided to swing by on my way to doing some other shopping in that area on Chestnut Street. But I have to say, I was anything but impressed. I walked in and saw a few other shoppers looking around, and I also noticed a candle class going on in the back of the store. There was an Asian woman behind the counter who looked like she was doing something on a computer. I decided to look around on my own at first, but was hoping that eventually she would greet me and just ask if I needed any help. Since it was my first time in the store, I had a couple questions I wanted to ask about certain products and the company, but she seemed totally preoccupied with what she was doing. One of the other customers looked at me as if to say, Is anyone going to ask us if we want any help? She eventually left the store. I also noticed that during my time waiting for assistance, another customer walked into the store and started to talk to the Asian woman, asking her questions about the store and how long it had been there. However, she answered her abruptly and without any warmth or interest. So the customer walked out of the store.Eventually the woman behind the counter said, Hello to me, and then continued to go about her business on the computer. Finally, I walked up to her and said that I had been in the store for awhile, yet it took her over 6 minutes to even acknowledge me. I told her that I was in the retail industry myself and that her customer service was totally uninviting and that I had every intention of writing a review about the service I received.I would think that a new business would be a bit more welcoming to its customers in the hopes of building a strong and loyal customer base. However, the feeling I got when shopping this store was that they simply didnt care and were preoccupied with other things.I will not be going back to Paddywax because my first experience, which is the most important, was so lack luster, cold, and unconscious.I suggest they start training their employees on what good customer service is, or they wont be in business long.
