After reading the reviews listed here, I decided to take a shot at having my bike serviced at Trophy. Im not sure my experience is entirely unique, but it might be helpful to anyone interested in visiting this shop.I brought in my bike to have my wheels aligned. Ive been riding an 86 bike that probably needs a lot more work, but since I rely on it for commuting I decided to deal with one problem at a time. Through phone calls and an in-person conversation when I dropped the bike off, I was feeling really good about my decision. They had the work done by the end of the day (nice!) and I could absolutely feel the difference in the quality of my rides. After about five days and only one ride, I pulled my bike out for a ride and noticed that the rear wheel was locked against the frame. Carried it to the shop, explained the situation to the person at the counter and she was really friendly and helpful and took it to the mechanics. I heard her explain the situation several times to what sounded like a frustrated mechanic, which was a little upsetting but I can understand theyve probably got other things to deal with. Now heres the kicker, after a few days of riding I can see the wheel is still not properly aligned in the frame. I cant really afford to continue this cycle so Ill be looking elsewhere for repairs.

All around terrible service, rude, and unaccommodating from start to finish.I never write reviews.. but something about this experience just rubbed me the wrong way. Here is how it went.I bought a bike.. Costumer service was bad.Rode the bike twice.Second time I rode the bike it broke.Tried to return the bike.Charged a 90 dollar fee for “restocking”.I paid for a bike that was broken or “unaligned” as I was told. A bike that the Shop themselves put together. When I asked for my money back I got hit with a fee..Here’s the thing, if you value costumer service then this isn’t the bike shop for you. If you are someone who is new to biking and you want a little guidance then this isn’t the place for you. If you value convenience then this isn’t the bike shop for you.If you know what you want and know how much it should cost then maybe they can help you. But it’s very likely that they won’t appreciate your business.Out of the hundreds of bike shops in the city I just chose the wrong one.

All around terrible service. Frantically had my bike taken in by the staff without asking what service to provide. I was never asked. Granted, I had a flat and they fixed it, I wanted a tuneup. With that said I received my bike in all around worse shape. The chain was so loose it couldn’t be ridden. They also struggled to then tighten up the chain (it’s an ordinary coaster break). There were even some pieces of the tire that were missing when I received it back. So the next day, the back wheel (that they replaced) locked up and i had to walk several miles home from work. On top of all else, at a personal level, they made it feel as though it was a burden to provide service. Even muttered something to the a coworker as they tightened the chain.

I wheeled myself in here on a whim because I fell on my bike and needed to get my chain put back into place. They were super nice and fixed it in under a minute for no charge. I will definitely be back in here for my other biking needs. I really appreciated the quick fix, otherwise I don’t know how I would have gotten home.

I bought the flat repair here and the quality of the tube was so low that it got punctured in less than an hour. Went back for a refund and they refuse and charge me again and the tube was puncture again in less than a mile. Don’t use this service, it’s so bad and the manager is incredibly arrogant. Lost $40 dollars here

In all honesty, this is my first ever review on a business and i read the reviews before coming down i just didnt believe the place/experience would be that bad. Im warning you now save your time. Experience and customer service was actually really bad, i was turned away, seriously. I would write my whole experience but it is pretty lenghty. I think i had better customer experience with Philadelphia Parking Authority(PPA) and that place gives me nightmares.EDIT: In response to the response i had gotten. Your recall is incorrect and you havent even cared to figure out the situation but legit just pointed fingers. You are mistaking me for another customer. I did not even step into your store. I support wearing masks. You have no idea who i am yet you attach me to some irrelevant client/situation.

I live a block away from this place and willsurely never go back again. I dropped my bike off for a tune up, which they said would take one week and ended up taking two. Each time I would call it was clear they were very unorganized. Even though it took two weeks, several of the simple things I asked for were not completed. They were also not the friendliest bunch of people

I brought them a brand new set of Schwalbe tubes, tires, and tire liners to replace on my current bike. When I picked up the bike, the tires were on backwards. Had to wait another day to pick up the bike and on a ride, the brand new Schwalbe tube broke. Have to assume it had something to do with the install.

Have been in here a handful of times over the past couple years. These guys have always performed great work on my mountain bike and all the employees there are very knowledgeable. They dont throw any shady sales pitches at you, they simply love bikes and want to make sure you are happy with the service and product.

I went into this bike shop recently with my girlfriend. We should have walked right out. I asked him one simple question. He then scoffed and laughed and basically asked us if we were shopping for furniture. This was a completely sexist remark; alluding that women just buy bikes to sit in a corner of their house or what?! Ive been an avid cyclist for 15+ years, so this humorless remark felt like a slap in the face. Reminded me of the scene in Handmaids Tale when the two women tried to order a cup of coffee. This sexist behavior should never be tolerated. I definitely took my business elsewhere.

Never went to Trophy Bikes before. A while ago I was hit by a car and stopped by their shop afterwards, and by a while ago I mean months ago. I unfortunately couldnt afford getting my bike back for while since I was recently laid off. I mostly spoke with Andrew, who was super professional and extremely understanding. I really appreciate the understanding and kindness. I finally got my bike back today, and its perfect. Thank you guys so much you did an awesome job!

One of the better bike shops in my opinion. They are smaller so they don’t carry much inventory but most of their accessories are higher quality. They carry hipster Surlys and Bromptons if that’s your cycle brand. They do generally great quality repairs and they do know how to tune your bike pretty well. They don’t attempt to fleece you like some of the other shops. Overall impressive.

Great shop!!They spend more time with you then my doctor during an appointment.Had an issue with my crank/shaft/ and Zach, young friendly helpful guy not only explained the sizing of each component so I can find one on line but he made sure measurements were accurate since bike manufacturer doesn’t list it. So he took entire assembly apparat measured with a caliper and told me exactly what to look for and bring the part in and they’ll swap it out.Super friendly. Will never go to the south Philly shops that sell rather than teach.

My experience at this shop was horrible! This came off to me as very unethical. The list of reasons I say this is because:1. The young lady that assisted me 1st began telling me that it was going to cost about $200 to fix a $200 bike, otherwise the bike wouldnt feel like a bike again. When she started telling me a list of things that I should fix I immediately got turned off, because I had only went into the shop to fix a derailer, and a rusted chain.2. When I asked her try to address only the issues I came in there for she basically tried to push me out of the store. When I told her that I had no reason to leave and that I could patiently wait, she then could no longer fix the bike in front of me and had to take it to the back.3. Before she took the bike in the back she went on telling me that the Huffy bike that I had was basically a throw away type of bike and wasnt really meant to be fixed.4. She then proceeded to take the bike around the back and started complaining openly about my request to whoever was back there with her.5. After wasting about 10 minutes of my time she brought the bike back with one squirt of lubricant on the chain telling me that the bike was unfixable, and that I should probably just throw the bike away. Now as a previous tank mechanic of the US Army I knew that the simple issues I asked her to address were in fact fixable. Even if it was a matter of replacing the parts instead of trying to fix them, I knew that it was doable. To me it just felt like because I wasnt willing to accept her telling me that I had to spend hundreds of dollars she wasnt going to help me.On the contrary that very same day I took the bike to Barrs Bikes and Boards and got the service that I need.

This place gets the trophy for assholism. I will drag my broken bike to the art museum or west Philadelphia before I waste any time or effort trying to communicate with these douchebags. Everyone I have ever come in contact with at Trophy has treated me with arrogance and disdain-- always after about 20 minutes of straight ignoring me while I stand in a virtually empty shop. They are rude, standoffish and just generally unhelpful. Of my 2 experiences with the customer service here, I have been scolded and told that I deserved to have my tires slashed, made fun of for buying economy tires, and told to come back tomorrow because 40 minutes was not enough time for the dude to even begin to attempt to pretend to want to help me.I have had serious bike accidents that left me feeling better than bringing my bike into Trophy. I will not be back.

Paid a lot of money for a tuneup and a new rear cassette and a new chain to run on it and they didnt even make the chain the correct size. There was so much slack that any bump while in my smallest front gear and smaller rear gears would make the chain jump off... it literaly hung below the gears. I cant beleive I let them work on 2 of my bikes and focused on only the work they did on my very expensive one and missed this untill after I moved out of the city. How can a mechanic screw up an instaltion that basic?
