They were very nice and polite I will take my car to them all the time
Refused to provide a service to my vehicle after previously calling, explaining the issue, and making an appointment.
First time visit. Everyone is very professional and the AAA STORE was rather busy! Now I know what to expect!
My car got towed here Friday morning and I received a call from them later that afternoon. The guy I spoke to said they would look at it and give me a call later that Friday or the next day. I received no call from them, so I reached out Monday afternoon around 5. It was then I spoke to the salesman B. Cooperman who was extremely rude to me after I declined their services. He kept trying to rush me off the phone and kept asking if I wanted to be transferred over to tow so I can have my vehicle moved off their lot. That sales person B. Cooperman really needs to learn how to talk to customers, especially when he’s expecting them to spend $2600 at his shop. He’s very unprofessional and as a member of AAA I didn’t like how I was being spoken to. To top everything off he hung up on me in the middle of me asking a question. I would highly recommend taking your vehicle somewhere else. Someplace that values the customer. AAA if your gonna charge customers $139.99 a hour for labor then I expect some professionalism to come with that!!
Not a place I would recommend or go back to. Had a state inspection scheduled at noon. They don’t pull my car into the garage until 1. Guy comes out at 1:40p and recommends new spark plugs and says they can do that and an oil change I requested and that it “shouldn’t take much time”. 3p guy comes back and tells me that the mechanics tried to install the wrong spark plugs that wouldn’t be as efficient in the car, but it shouldn’t be too much longer. 3:45p guy tells me the new spark plugs have arrived and that it shouldn’t be that much longer. 4:30p guy says they are done and he will get to me soon. 4:50p I am finally checked out. Guy apologizes to and asks if there is anything they can do after I have paid and am in the process of trying to leave. Overall not worth the $15-20 I saved using AAA. The mix up with the spark plugs made it seem like they were either careless, making excuses for taking so long, or taking advantage of my lack of knowledge and replacing something that would have been fine for another few years.7/1/2021 update: They have terrible customer service. I posted over a month ago about my bad car service experience at this site. If you look at my original post, the company asked me to email them more information. I sent a detailed explanation of my issues including photographs to AAA’s customer service email which was forwarded on to management. 5 weeks later and I still have not heard back from management who was forwarded my issues. I’ve sent multiple reminders and have heard nothing from them. I highly discourage anyone from visiting this AAA branch.11/4/2021 update: never received check. Called and left voicemails in September and never heard back. Had to contact the Better Business Bureau. AAA responds by saying they accidentally canceled the refund but will reissue it. Now in November and still haven’t received the check or heard from this AAA branch.
I had a tire shipped to this location to be installed and just called to make an appointment. The gentleman that answered the phone told me that they had no appointments for the next two weeks to install my tire and that my only option would be to drive to the store to pick up the tire and take it somewhere else. Not only that, but the gentleman on the phone was extremely rude and very unsympathetic to my issue - I am driving on a leaking/flat tire and need a new tire. They have signed up with Tirerack as a recommended installer and yet cant schedule me to install a tire! I would suggest this location unenroll as a preferred installer if they cant service the customers it sends them. I now have to figure how to get the tire from this location and fine somewhere else to take it.
As AAA members, weve been customers at this location more than a dozen times. We have always gotten skilled, friendly, fast service for car repairs, inspections, tire rotations, oil changes. Love that they are open 7 days a week for car service needs ( with free coffee while you wait). They handle title changes, passport photos and you can get discount tickets to the PHS flower show/other attractions. Got a deal on lightweight luggage there too.
I got a battery from here a couple yrs ago. So my car had started to start a slow start like it didnt want to turn over. I took it back to AAA for them to check the battery for me. The worker came out to test the battery with the hand held machine and told me something draining the battery. He never said start the car up while checking. Anyway I just went 2 Pep Boys and got a new battery and put it in.. I havent had any problems with it hesitating to start. The guy made me waist $180 on a new battery when the one I got from AAA was still under the warranty.. I will never go here again for anything.
Wonderful experience. Great staff. So thankful for their expertise on car titles.
I needed to renew my drivers license and change my address after I moved a few months ago. After finding out my ID was expired a few days ago, I realized I am a AAA member and decided to call this location. The reps I spoke to on the phone were extremely friendly and told me they would give me the camera card and only needed to bring my old license. When I got there later in the afternoon, a gentleman grabbed me as soon as I walked in and immediately sent me over to Kate with Tag/Title Services, etc. Kate was so pleasant, welcoming, and personable. I immediately felt comfortable. She right away asked if I was also changing my address. I filled out a form and she printed my camera card after paying a discounted fee for members. She told me I could get to 3rd and Oregon license center before 4:15 and she moved as quickly as she could. Even when a coworker came over to talk to her she explained she was working quickly to get ME to the license center for my picture and license renewal.I right away shot over to 3rd and Oregon, got a number, and waited all but 3 minutes before being called - got my picture, completed the questions, then waited another 3 minutes for my new license. Shout out to this center and the rep who helped me as well.In about 30 minutes, I had my new license in hand. What a positive and efficient process! Thank you, Kate, and AAA for initiating this swift and impactful experience!
SHAME ON YOU. My son had a tire blow out and called to have the car towed. You replaced the tire, yet tried to strong arm him, telling him he needed break line replaced and hose replacement that would cost over $800. He did not authorize anything other than a tire change. When he got there the tire was changed, YET the customer care clerk proceeds to tell him someone called and authorized the minimum amount of work in order to take the car to a mechanic. Neither my son or I authorized such a thing. Mysteriously, they can fix whatever for $431. The guy told my son he would not give him the car until the work was done and the car was not safe. After my son called me and I spoke to and questioned the AAA worker....his attitude changed to I dont recommend you drive it. Told my son it would be another hour wait, but the tire was ALREADY CHANGED. AFTER 30 yrs, I will look for a new Roadside service...SHAME ON YOU!!
Needed to make an appointment for state inspection . Easy process with a courteous gentleman. If the actual appointment goes as well I will be a happy new customer.I appreciate AAA . They always seem to have a good customer service attitude.
Great service. Fair prices. Quality work. Everything I look for in a service center.
Bought an hour wait for tag and title but that happens. Professional and efficient once it was my turn
They do not allow out of state transferring of titles and registration with a Pennsylvania issued camera card (REAL ID temporary license). I was told to carefully read a hand-out that stated they cannot take a REAL ID receipt, and was told to wait a few weeks and come back with my physical ID.I left without a fuss and called 2 other authorized agents nearby (Online Messengers), and they said it was completely fine with my temporary licenses and my out of state license as noted on the PennDOT/DMV website. I paid the premium and had it taken cared of elsewhere. So unsure if its lack of support in the AAA system, or misinformation, but I was quite disappointed that I couldnt utilize one of my primary benefits for owning an AAA membership (expedited DMV services). Other than roadside assistance, which is provided through insurances nowadays for a fraction of the cost, I have to re-assess the value of a membership.
Got car inspected. Told them to check battery, they said it was fine. Car died a day later so I towed it to Motor Service Valatis instead where the local mechanic told me it was a very dead battery and replaced it. Couldnt take it back to AAA because they were booked for the week even though they inspected my car.
I had a very good experience! The ladies that assisted me were helpfully interactive and knowledgeable.
Convenient location, clean n friendly.Answered all my questions.
They did fast good work my car was in and out
Have had some good experiences here in the past. But they currently have my truck, have had it for 2 days and when I just called for an update they said haven’t even looked at it yet! All you hear from them is excuses. Even when work was done well in the past, it isn’t done in a timely manner. It’s a shame, every time I’ve brought a vehicle here (couple years worth) all I hear is how busy they are, and why things can get done on time. Maybe make some hires...
The service was good but slow
Friendly professional service, Fred found solutions for me and gave me helpful info. His sense of humor was pleasant
Gary and Ryan are helpful and quick!!! I recommend askin for their help💙
I went to this location for a state inspection. I was told that I only needed to have my windshield wipers replaced, which they quoted me a total for, including the inspection. Then the customer service representative told me there were some recommendations, which would bring the total to a new price. I agreed to the new price because it appeared to only be about $70 more. I then sat for an hour and a half. Then I was told I would have to wait longer because they obtained the wrong part. I waited an additional hour. While I waited, I didn’t see any service being done on my car until the very last 20 mins, when I saw the mechanic change my wipers and one air filter. I was keeping an eye out on my car and never saw a fuel system service done on my car, which I was charged almost $100 for, and I only saw one air filter changed, but I was charged for two.Additionally, it turns out when the customer service representative was showing me totals, he showed me totals that needed to be added together. I thought he was showing me a grand total, which would have made sense. Why would the customer assume they would have to add the totals together? I ended up being charged $140 more than I expected. They gave me a $50 discount because I told them I didn’t understand that I needed to add those totals together. I waited almost 4 hours in their waiting area and I believe I paid for a couple services that were not actually done on my vehicle. And on top of all of this, the mechanic did not replace my screws in my front license plate holder when he took my license plate off. So I had to return to pick those up. This place is not worth the headache. I would not recommend this location.
Came here for a title transfer and new car registration after moving to Philadelphia, and it was a 10/10 experience all around! The place is super clean and well laid out, the staff were friendly, and Kate took care of everything to get my car registered in PA. A way better experience than going to the DMV for sure!
The service repair tech was helpful and efficient in diagnosing my mechanical problem
My engine overheated the Friday afternoon of Labor Day weekend. I called the AAA number and a great guy named Michael called seven repair shops and five couldnt touch the car until Wednesday and two wouldnt work on my Volvo. Since I was very close to AAA on Christopher Columbus Blvd. I asked him to give them a call. The manger, Barry, told him to have the car towed there and they would get to it ASAP. I got a call at 10:00 AM the next day. I explained to Randy what was going on and he said they would follow-up. On Monday, Labor Day, Randy called and clearly explained what was wrong and the fix. He told me the price for parts and labor and I approved. He said he would order the parts as soon as he hung up. I got a call early Tuesday afternoon and my car was ready!! Great, friendly service and my car is driving beautifully. Thanks AAA!
Very nice placeGood service all around👍👍👍👍👍
I used the AAA South Philly location to get new title and tags for a car I purchased out of state. The whole process was very professional, thorough, and prompt. They printed out documents that I only had computer files of. And when I told them I needed to be able to do this in a socially distant way, they were very accomodating. In particular, Ms. Pam Bryan was so thoughtful, she met with me outside in the parking lot to complete the entire transaction (on what turned out to be a hot morning!) and told me she was sanitizing the pen I was using to sign every time she brought it back inside.
Service is great but customer service is a bit off . Today I guess most people didnt want to be at work.
Excellent customer service; repairs done in the time frame expected. Discount for AAA members.
I came here for an inspection and emissions test and told them that I would be waiting for my vehicle. I had an 11am appointment and was here on time. An hour and a half later I ask what the status is and they tell me they thought I wasn’t waiting and they hadn’t started on it yet. While the workers here seem nice, I find it unacceptable to waste a customers time who has been waiting patiently and in plain sight in the waiting room. I will not be returning and to say I am frustrated and annoyed with this service is an understatement.
Good staff, towed in a timely manner. They were professional and kind, I was able to get everything I needed from my vehicle, also a nice waiting room with restrooms, chargers, TVs, and a bunch of snacks while you wait on service or a ride. I recommend having AAA you never know when you might need it
The staff was very professional and courteous. I love being a AAA member.
It was clean and efficient as always with hand sanitizer readily available, and everyone wore a mask. Pam stepped right in to assist my physically challenged spouse to expedite the replacement PennDOT handicap placard. The mechanics aided her along the path and the tow truck driver assisted our safe exit from the parking lot. A great experience.
If I could give a 0-star review, I would.Brought my 2005 Kia Sportage in several days ago after it began having what I assumed was a problem with the exhaust system. The car sounded like a Mack truck trying to take flight. After they inspected the car, I was informed that my catalytic converter and entire exhaust system needed to be replaced. When I asked why, I was told that the system was totally corroded and leaking. I was then quoted a price of 2k+ for the work. After talking it over with my husband, we decided to take the car to a local muffler shop to get a second opinion. Drove up to the shop, and the owner (who was standing outside) said, Sounds like someone stole your catalytic converter. Sure enough, they get it up on the lift, and someone had gone under the car with a battery-operated sawzall and cut/ripped out the catalytic converter and everything attached to it. It wasnt pretty. Muffler shop was able to replace it in 25 minutes for $350.This AAA branchs lack of transparency is tantamount to dishonesty. What did they have to lose by just telling me the truth about what happened to my car? Now they have lost my business for good.
Great customer service, planning our next getaway!
Disrespectful theives. Peices of doody
What a wonderful experience places clean management was awesome maintenance was awesome got a in and out in a timely fashion oh yes theyre going to be on the top of the list to visit again thank you Triple A
Great location, given the proximity to other stores in case you need to wait for your vehicle. Strangely enough, there were a lot of spotted lantern flies found on the sidewalks outside of the store.Being open on a Sunday is definitely beneficial as the ability to visit during the week is very difficult.
Ms Pam was very professional and helpful
Its nice that theyre very professional which is rare in car repair. I would think with their computer system they would have an automatic link to connect what AAA so they wouldnt spend unnecessary time on refilling out information their business already has. If that time were loosened up it would be a fast 2 minute check in and actually more money for the company for car repair, and therefore a no-brainer. A bit embarrassing for people checking us in because AAA has been around forever so why theres no link for them for efficiency is just plain silly to not be able to compete with other car repair garages. Corporate should be on top of this.
Mark took care of our car inspection. The process was quick and straightforward. He was NOT a typical auto customer service rep tryinh upsell us on products. We would go there again. Oh! We also noticed the shop and storefront was clean. 1+!
Inspection and oil change... Honored appointment... No surprises... Friendly... Ordered water. Will be back next year.
Such excellent and quick notary services.
This is the 2nd time I have called to make an appointment for an oil change got off work early and was told I didnt have an appointment. The guy there Barry and 1 other guy forgot his name were very rude and unprofessional and I was still talking to them politelyThese people get paid because customers go there to get service done customers should be treated like they would like to be treated. Very unpleasant and unprofessional.
Big Ed was great! I needed a tow on a busy road during morning rush hour and he got to me so quick, within 25 just like he said. He made sure I got in the truck safely (and buckled up). I felt very comfortable during the ride - I rode along to drop my car off at a shop - and thanks to him I still made it to work on time. Thanks yall! Would recommend.
Great place to get excellent work on your car, the staff is very nice and helpful, shout out to Barry, Patrice, and Beth-Ann you all made my 1st visit a pleasurable one, thanx again and keep up the good work...
I am a AAA member who was on an extended car trip. I had my auto towed to this shop due to a breakdown on I95 in Philadelphia. The shop took nearly two weeks to repair a clutch issue. They had removed some ancillary parts to access the clutch master cylinder and they lost the fasteners to re-secure the ancillary parts. When they returned the car, they had just placed the ancillary parts back in place, some without any fasteners and some with partial fasteners. I found out a couple days later at home when I decided to check my oil. I call the shop and asked for them to provide the fasteners and they agreed. However, despite two additional follow ups from me requesting they fix the issue, they never actually provided the missing parts. The Quality Assurance process at AAA South Philadelphia is faulty, service very slow and their customer service rep did not follow through on commitments. I cant help but wonder if there may be other problems that I cant see.
Very courteous and helpful
Friendl,knowledgable
Disrespectful old manager! If they check your car and then they say to fix it will cost you 550$ and you decide to not fix it. they will yell at you like if you own them something !!
Very good and professional very quick and to the point 👍
Wife visited this location for a PA inspection as we are AAA members and new to Philly. Inspection came back with nearly $2,500 in charges to pass. The car has had regular maintenance for the past 10 years with no previous issues. Called our prior mechanic and they were shocked at what was being requested to pass the inspection.I took the car over to Schaefer Automotive (across the street) and they performed an inspection free of charge. They fixed one minor issue for $300 and the car passed inspection.Bottom line: AAA is a huge company and piles on the charges to try and get everything they can out of you. Find yourself a small, decent mechanic and get an honest opinion. Go across the street and visit Mike at Schaefer. I promise you won’t get treated any better anywhere else. Wife and I both cancelled our AAA plans when we left.
Great service!
Service was exceptional in store - not thrilled with the person who initially took my call, very rude .
Very handy place to have around the neighborhood 🤓. Notary service price was very reasonable😀
My car been there for 3 days and no phone calls from AAA when I do call they tell me the same thing each time “ We are about to check your car now be expecting a phone call before the day is out.” Day 3 with only one call saying they need another hour. One hours turned into 48 hours and I know AAA is one of the best car care facilities in the world but they timing will have you renting cars for a whole week... Please AAA put that smile back on my face. PLEASE
I want to know why the telephone menu is on a loop with no way to contact the center including calling the Roadside assistance on my membership card (all they said was they couldnt get to them either and sorry they cant help)? I am struggling to find places to get my tire fixed in the city lockdown and its really great to know AAA is not available in a time of emergency despite being an essential service. In the past, Ive tried to schedule services online with no response, and walked in for passport photos that were worthless and needed to be retaken at USPS, Manager John was rude to me in that whole process. After not being able to communicate with anyone yesterday or today to get my car towed in (supposed to be included with my membership) to the facility, this is very much a last straw for me and I will have to rely on SEPTA until another facility closer to me becomes available despite having paid for Gold membership service here for over 5 years.
I was involved in a accident on the highway they fixed my car but I paid good money for it .
I have quite literally always used aaa as an insurance and membership. As a member of 47 years I very much enjoy the top of the line customer service provided through them. This location is no exception, they are quick and professional. The reason for the 4 start versus 5 star is due to the politeness of staff in the car service center. I’ve had a 50/50 experience with either them being quite rash or rude on the phone when calling though I had one of my cars worked on recently and the work and staff in the car service center were excellent. I wish I could give a 5 star review but the personnel who answer on behalf of the car service center are in need of some quality training on customer service.
Very friendly and helpful staff. They will advice you wisely to offer you a great insurance deal. Would definitely recommend AAA
Very friendly and honest. They let us know right away about work that needed to be done and were completely professional.
Not good to me.
Had a car towed and they didnt even look at it. They saw the body damage and didnt check the wheel and spindle to assess the mechanical. They just recommended having it towed to a body shop.
Even though my appointment was made at the wrong location, they assisted me at this location at the last moment and with relative ease. Denise was very professional handling me even when I was visibly upset with error of my appointment. Thank you and I will be back soon for any more help!
Bad service staff disrespectful I am happy I didnt renew membership
Recently received my PA license plate and registration after moving states. Randolph helped me throughout the entire process. We had a ton of issues getting my title transferred from more lien holder and Randolph was extremely helpful calling and contacting the bank. He was quick to reply via email and made a very frustrating process as seamless as possible on his end. He even told me what to watch out for when getting by parking permit and inspection in the coming days. They are very upfront about cost with no hidden fees. The space is very clean and everyone was always welcoming. Randolph was awesome and I would highly recommend him for anything you need in the tag/title department!
Very clean, and very reasonable $$ for inspection. The wrong sticker was put on so I will get it corrected when I get it inspected next year.🚙
Great place. The staff are exceptionally nice. The center is clean bright and comfortable. The mechanics are good and service is quick. Besides car service they have all your membership services available
Super friendly staff. Saw me immediately without an appointment after a nearby chain I had an appointment with screwed me over. Very plain spoken about needed repair and flexible with scheduling it. Checked online and their quote is inline with what to expect, no funny business. Waiting area is also clean and doesnt reek of gasoline/car chemicals like most chain garages. All around a very pleasant experience. Wound up signing up for standard AAA roadside coverage considering how impressed I was with basic repair services.
Never been in this AAA but I like AAA but they did go up on my bill and didnt give me no good deal
Excellent Customer service.
The people here felt like small business owners (like they actually cared about me lol) Gina was very helpful and I was in and out (went to buy an EZ Pass)
Outstanding customer service.
Upon entering this AAA location, none of the employees were wearing face masks or adhering to any other social distancing rules in place during the covid-19 pandemic. I was even urged to come stand next to an employee to submit payment and sign paperwork. I will never go back to this location for any service or tow because of their disregard for the health of others.
They were very curtious and took care of my needs.
This is a great shop. Nick was very through and found a number of issues that had been overlooked by other mechanics. At the end of the day his advice was to get rid of the car rather then keep throwing money at something that is doomed to failure. I appreciate a mechanic who is willing to miss out on the short term repair job in the interest of long term trust and honest. I’ll definitely be back. Tom was really helpful as well in getting back to me and helping with the process.
Great travel service
They know what they are doing. All I did was buy an EZ pass doohickey but every thing was clean and distanced
Great service. I definitely recommend this place. Thank you AAA
Went here for an inspection after transferring the car from out of state. Promptly failed the inspection due to bad brakes. The tech was helpful in explaining our options, and the price quoted matched what was paid. Their prices are roughly in line with prices found in the suburbs, which was a nice surprise. I recommend them for anything you cannot perform yourself.
I called this AAA & asked them if they could repair my Volks Wagon. I explained the problem over the phone to a Frank. He told me yes we do repair volks wagons and that issue is something that we can fix. I thought great! So I had my car towed there first thing on a Monday morning. He did tell me that they wouldn’t be able to get to it the same day. I said ok fine. I never got a call to let me know that my car had arrived. AAA towed it there. When I called to check Frank said “oh I was just about to call you”. Apparently I didn’t diagnose my car properly or use the correct terminology over the phone. ( hey I’m no mechanic that’s why I had it towed there) I thought I was perfectly clear when I said I could not get the car to start. I tried turning the key in the ignition it would not turn. Roadside assistance suggested that I jiggle & turn the wheel because the steering wheel might be locked. I told Frank, that after I jiggled & turned the key would turn once in the ignition but would not go any further to start. He said, “Oh I thought that u said the key wouldn’t turn. The AAA tow truck driver said the key turned but it wouldn’t start.” ( seemed to be a huge difference to him)I said whether it turns once or doesn’t turn at all it will not start that’s the issue. So he said as soon as the mechanic gets a chance he’ll look at it. I called Tuesday afternoon same thing, “ not yet but it’s next.” I called Wednesday around 4pm after 3 days of the car sitting Frank told me that they couldn’t fix it to take it to the dealer. Had I not called I guess the car would still be sitting right now. Very inconsiderate not professional. If Volkswagon parts and reprogramming is too complicated for this shop to fix I get it. Just don’t have a customer tow their car there. Just to let the car sit and say take it to the dealer. I’ve had other repairs done to my VW at this same shop. I’ve had a $900 and some odd dollar tune up done at this same shop. And that’s with the AAA discount. Worst experience ever. Total waste of time never again.
Will not return.
Everyone at this location is amazing! I am shocked by some negative reviews. Ive been an AAA member for more than 2 years and have used almost all of the services offered. When I moved to Philly, they helped me with all of my tag/title/registration paperwork. I go often for regular maintenance & have gotten to know the mechanics & desk staff. Recently had what could have been a face-melting tragedy when my car broke down in Center City but the roadside assistance team was great, on time, careful, and respectful. The guys that worked to fix the problem were communicative and pleasant. They even helped me get a low-cost & insured rental, then helped me return it & get refunded because they fixed my car so quickly!! I was so grateful, I brought them cookies! Going in for tires next week, because I trust them. Thank you!!
Love it there... Very professional p
Friendly staff and service. I really appreciate them for helping us out of a bind.
Went in for an air conditioning repair. Great service, quick and easy. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Thanks Josh!- Had to edit this positive review to a negative one. After my third visit in a span of 5 days. There is an obvious lack of communication between employees/managers. I’ve had to speak to 3 different customer service reps, all with different answers/explanations/blame. Fixed one problem the second trip to create another then the third trip attempted to charge me for said problem they caused. No apology, no anything. Also new problem wasn’t included on my receipt which is a cool way to not have a record of it.I was actually very excited to try out this newer location being a AAA plus member, but back to independent mechanics it is.
Don’t get a Battery from them . I paid for a new battery A few days ago. Fast forward my car would not start . I called AAA and they Charge me for another call on my AAA card . Then they send out a Technician to jump a brand new Battery . 🤦♂️Then the guy to said to me the battery is good let it Charge up for 30 minutes have I been Driving the vehicle . What do that Matter ? Poor customer service I want a new Battery if I wanted a used one I could had got one down the street for 50 bucks.
I will never take any of my vehicles anywhere else for repairs
Fast clean service polite staff
Okay customers services couldve been way better in my opinion...
The people were very nice and very helpful. We were helped quickly and efficiently. Thank you AAA!
Replaced the battery for my car with this location and got the car serviced a few months back. There was a spurt of a couple weeks where I wasn’t using the car and had to get it jumped recently. Car worked fine for a day after driving it around. Was slightly skeptical when the technician who ran a diagnostic on the battery told us the battery’s health was at 40 (out of 100 I presume?). How a battery only a few months old could have such low health is beyond me. Fast forward to a couple days after the service and the car won’t respond to a jump whatsoever. What was the point of spending several hundreds of dollars with this location if the car would shut down after only a few months?
Barry is my hero
Excellent service
I had an excellent experience at the AAA on Columbus. I went in to register my leased car from Florida and the staff was so helpful and kind. They did everything. This weekend Im going in to do my inspection. Its a one stop shop. Im a premier member and always go to AAA to do a great deal of my business. Happy I found this location. I highly recommend. Briana, Kate and Bruce were super. Thanks Dave
Wife and I went to get our international drivers permit and Pam was the associate that assisted us. She was very knowledgeable and we received our permits in what seemed like no time at all. Woot woot.
My car broke down last Sunday, 10/15. I called AAA to come look at it, and the serviceman found out my starter fuse was blown, and guessed I had a short in the wiring somewhere. I had the car towed to this center. They called me the next day and told me it was a computer issue and would cost about $1300 to fix. Thats a lot of money and I didnt think this diagnosis made any sense, so I talked to some other people and did some research. Turns out, my model car tends to have a problem with a particular wire that causes the exact problem my car was having. I had my dad call them about it (Im a young single female, and car places like this tend to try to overcharge me, I thought they might treat him more fairly than me), and they told him theyd checked that wire and it was definitely the computer.I still didnt trust their diagnosis, so I had it towed to another mechanic. They checked the wire I told them to...and said that was definitely the problem. They fixed it, I paid $178 for it, and now I have my car back and its working fine.I will say that the people on the phone were always friendly, and they waived the required diagnostic fee when I took my car. But either they were too ignorant to know how to fix the problem, too lazy to put in the work to find the problem, or they were deliberately trying to cheat me out of $1300. Theres no excuse for any of that. Thats a lot of money, and a big difference from $178. Plus they lied and said theyd checked the faulty wire when clearly they didnt, so I feel like it was all deliberate. Im just thankful I didnt drop $1300 to fix a problem I didnt have. Whatever their motive was, this is not a good place to bring your car for service.
