This is a busy place. They do have a very large fresh fish market inside. But all that fish can leave a fishy smell when you enter.
So far, the best Asian supermarket. Bright and well stocked, and an infinite variety of items. A must for the Asian food lovers.
Very bad customer’s service here, I’ve been to this market plenty time and every time I went I never feel happy with the service from the staff at the seafood to the cashier. I went in to today to get some veggies and seafood the staff at the seafood department is mean and ignoring, I wanted to buy some crabs and he just picks randomly they are pretty small some big ones are mixed in so I asked him to give a bigger one or a better one but he yelled at me and said you have to pay more you have to pay more he repeated and said 3 for $10 okay?! then he picked 6 small crab only one of them is a good size and gave me 6 for $20 it is not worth it at all, I don’t mind to pay extra if it’s worth it for what I’m paying for, the tag was stated 12 for $16. I went to the cashier and told her that he over charges me for those crabs and she ignored me likes she know nothing, making me so disappointed that I will never wanted to come back to this market again and I will sure let me family & friends not to bother to come to this market.
Always buying fish from this supermarket and the service at the fish department is terrible. Not helpful, disrespectful and ignorant. The guy did not cut my fish the way I ask him to cut it, he took caviar out of my fish and the to sell it for cash, I didnt have cash with me, so I ask him to put the price so Ill be able to pay at the register he was regretting that I ask for the manager and he start screaming and saying bad words . I hope the store will hire someone more nice and respectful.
Fantastic Asian SUPERMARKET!Wide variety of chinese and other asian food products. Great fresh meat & fish selections, including live eels and frogs!!Always wonderful produce and fruits. Go there 3 or 4 times a year to stock up on all our favorites. Could not keep a Chinese household without this place. Just a gem in Philly! Dont miss it.-bigeasy
Lemme start with good. Big selection of sauces, ramen and candy. Price wise I think is good comparing that American markets will charge you more. I usually but what I said above so I can’t comment on the rest. But clearly they don’t use a/c or what not cuz it smells horrible inside like gotta wear 2 masks. They have $1 special on fruits and veg but you get what u pay.
I buy all my fresh and Asian products from this market. However many items are not labeled in English 50% of the fresh fish is labeled in Chinese. I complained to management the excuse for this was that they could find the English name for it..really? Unacceptable. Lastly the fish service is run by non English speaking employees and there is not take a number system this leads to conflict amongst the customers. This can be resolved however my impression is that they dont appreciate US or non Asian customers. 😥
You will find every groceries item hr.
This is a real deal Chinese supermarket that also carries a pretty wide variety of grocery items from other Asian countries (some Filipino, Korean & Vietnamese). Pretty large produce, seafood & poultry sections with a very wide variety of items, especially leafy greens and fish, which they will fillet.A minor complaint --- The labeling of wrapped fresh meats could stand improvement in specificity. Different cuts of beef can be meat, poultry varieties can be fowl, etc.
Great selection of produce and other groceries. I often come here to get my groceries. They also have a tea place in the shopping strip and a pho place.
Best Asian market I found so far in Philly
I brought packaged ribs. Got home put it in my freezer and about 2 to 3 days later I took out to cook. Found out they were bad because of the smell. Took them back to be told that they will not give me my money back or even another pack after a day. Ive noticed that Asian restaurants are the same way. Sell bad food then in so many words theyll tell us that they can sell and treat us anyway and we have to deal with it. From now on I will stick with Acme.. Sams club.. ShopRite ect where the food is guaranteed and so is the kindness. Oh keep in mind we dont all get home from the market open and smell the meats right away but from now on I will.
Definitely need some English speaking people not many...But OMG
Extremely horrible to maneuver around the parking lot when its busy during the day or evening.
I wish the employees were more helpful to Americans.
Smiley staff ....very organizedThanks FOJ
This review is as of 7/19/21. I read some bad reviews of this place and had to see for myself esp sinse its not far from my home. I found the place to be clean, well lighted, well stocked, well staffed. Their selelction is fairly complete and was able to find almost everything i wanted. Also while browsing I checked to see if they had all the things i typically buy and they did. Many times I have to go to 2 or 3 places to find what I want; so this looks like itll be a one stop shop for me.The prices were good and competitive other Asian markets in the city. It did not appear as if anything was on sale, at least I saw no sale signs. Many times one might find Pocky on sale somewhere 2 for $6, but not here. The only flaw if you want to call it that was maybe the produce could be a bit fresher. That said, Im no expert on produce. I am comparing to HMART which has an excellent produce section. For a busy store the floors were pretty clean. I worked in retail and know what a challenge that can be. The bathroom was very clean and modern and I didnt mind using it. The store is located off the Roosevelt Blvd at St. Vincent St. one block from Cottman Ave; so it is accessible by the rt.14 & 70 buses. Those 2 buses alone cover a good portion of the city if you dont drive. Lastly, its true not all the staff speak english but those that do were friendly and helpful. I am accustomed to shopping in Asian markets, so I pretty much can find what I need. This place is a winner!
I would suggest doing your research on whatever asian cuisine your trying to make before going to this market. You wont get any help from employees. No ones speaks English unless you make them mad. Sad but true. Besides that good prices and fresh seafood.
Fresh produce, friendly staff and shoppers!
Not all of your looking is there but moat of them you can find it as far as asian seasonings, live fish, meat and vegetables.
Very nicely and looks very high maintenance inside especially towards their rest room area
This place always has a lot of customers, which means they must be doing something right. Everything is always such a reasonable price and their service is quick. Im never in there longer than 20 minutes total.
Great place to shop. Always packed. Prices are reasonable compared to other places and given that they carry hard to find items.Parking can be difficult.
Great fresh food and great prices. You need asian, this place is where to go! Fish, meat and produce is always fresh when I shop there!
Great place to buy some chinese product and food. Many choice.
Amazingly fresh seafood and all the items you need for DIY Asian dishes.
Not very friendly. But I always find what I am looking for.
Great prices and variety of groceries. Cashiers are efficient enough for long lines. But still the seafood area should be cleaned more frequently. cleanliness should be improved
Good prices in general, especially on veggies. Many more kinds of dark green veggies than usual supermarkets. Great selection of seafood. Lots of choices for spices and herbs. Quick checkout, even when busy.
The goods are complete and there are many kinds, and the goods on the shelves are not clearly placed, and there is no recognition and classification。
Love this store, has everything I need to prepare authentic meals, noodle bowl selection is extensive also, better have google translate app tho, not all products are in english
They closed very early not that convenient to someone, but the foods are good in the area.
Great products but I wish theyd clean their store specially the floor. Atleast they mop it or what just to remove the dirt and rotten fish smell tho they sell fish too. Maybe it can lessen the bad smell if they will. 🤧🤢🤷♀️
If an aisle full of soy sauce and vinegar is your jam, this is your magic kingdom on toast!
You wont get answers at this store, help yourself. Good produce and fish .
No one spoke English and unable to help me.
Closest place in the Northeast to pick up certain Asian culinary items. Kinda dirty though. I prefer H Mart but come here when I dont feel like driving to Levittown.
Decent Asian supermarket, has everything I need.
Buy there fish and seafood only. People at fish desk don’t speak English. Very hard to explain.
I go there for the bubble tea,
They have everything you could ever need.
Great store! Especially if you want to make any asian dishes or sauces.
Night Market was not my cup of tea.
Old school Asian supermarket, petty decent, clean, with a good variety of grocery.
I came here once. Not bad . Brought lots stuff . Fresh and reasonable price.
It was ok bathroom.was very horrible!🙄
Drove a half an hour only to be told that they close at 6pm. I asked a woman who works there why they havent updated their hours on google if its been almost a year since theyve changed their hours, and she laughed in my face. She said she would tell her manager but when I asked to speak with them she said there was no manager at the store. Never again will I come up here for this buffoonery.
While waiting online there were two African Americans waiting as well, then two Chinese came in and they served the Chinese first. It was not a pleasant experience.
I love this place - one of my favorite grocery stores!
Good and smooth Asian stuff available as food : spices, herbs, fish, meat, vegs and fruits also some important household petty and even spiritual nessesity like candles insence.. (Hindu, Buddhism etc)
Really great selection at this supermarket with reasonable prices. I’m rarely in this area, or else I’d come here regularly to get groceries! Note: You won’t be able to push the carts out to the parking lot because they have rails in the way.
Good servicePrice is good
Very very bad smell inside the store very dirty store i cant even get inside it they should clean it i would recommend not going it can make u very sick bcuz of dirtyness and smell
Good work
I love how the store had everything and anything you could find. I can not pick up items I normally would have too take a trip to China Town for. The grab tea ice cream sandwich I highly recommend too everyone!!!!!
You can find most Asian food & stuff here. Asian family will come here shopping while waiting for the take out/seat from the nextdoor Chinese restaurant. Parking lot has a lot of parking space. But illegal parking in front of the entrance is very common. Please watch your way when you return to your car.
They are never nice to other races but their own...Ask a question about a product and see for your self.
Very good
It smells so bad in this store Im surprised the health department hasnt closed it. Oh and the customer service is nonexistent.
Pretty old market place. Becareful of expired products.
As I learn more and practice more Asian cooking this store has become an amazing resource! The noodles alone will take forever to experiment with, theres so many varieties. Love it!
Great selection. Good prices. So many things you can not buy anywhere else in my area.
I buy 2 fishe I was thinking this is fresh fishe when I a Arrive to home and opened the shopping bag I I found it is to lode dont fresh
Nice place
This market has fresh fish and some in a big tank. And they will clean your fresh fish for you. And if you like cook duck. Its good. And if you like to make Oriental dishes this is the place for you.
Dirty and smell and no one speak a word in English
Clean and organized.
I really love it and I just went there to get spicy noodles🔥 but the thing that I dont like about this store is that it smells seafood and meat 🤢 Also the chaser was coughing and it was scary.
I love this store, they have good selection of fish.
A Large variety of everything clean & spacious!!
Best market ever food drink and ASSISTANCE with any questions asked.
Well stocked,Nice and helpful staff that dont mind questions about brands and preparing what you want to make without the Eyerolls of other Asian grocers Ive experienced! 👍👍👍👍👍
Good for vegetables and fish
Amazing selection of fresh produce
Good
Good place to get a fresh fish but they have to do something about the smell of the store
I drove over half hour to get there around 8:20pm. But a guy maybe a manager said they have already closed. And said I made a mistake. He told me to look the sign on the door. But no 1 Asian supermarket website shows close at 9:00pm.They made me like a fool.
Some goods are less expensive than other Asian supermarkets.
We go here to buy my husbands favorite, that classic rooster bottle Sriracha. They usually have them two large bottles for five dollars - Ive paid more than five for one bottle at regular groceries. They also carry import foods that are hard to find in other places if you enjoy east Asian cuisine, tea, or just want to try some new snacks.
This is a terrific asset for NE Philadelphia. Definitely worth visiting. If you like to cook Chinese or Vietnamese especially, this is the place to visit.
Best life fish you ever buy
Anything you need for Asian recipe you will find here. Many variety of meats as well.
Great selection of dry goods, noodles, and canned products. Most also have English labeling. Produce is mostly fresh and fairly priced, with few exceptions. They have some unusual items like durian fruit, and a zillion jars of sauces and condiments. Worth a trip.
So much variety from fresh produce to selling rare produce, different kinds of mushrooms and more. Price point is great and items are always fresh.
Good Food! Reasonable price
I love this place, great fruits and vegetables section, always clean and shelves are always stocked nice.
Slow, staff not very polite.
Couldnt understand seafood employees..
Finally found an excellent Asian market in Philly, after moving here from Seattle. Love it.
DO NOT GO TO THIS GROCERY STORE!!!! Terrible customer service! I wanted to do an even exchange on a NON-FOOD item and even after presenting a receipt I was faced with multiple managers trying to refuse the exchange based on a 24 hour rule that was applicable to food items, per their own policy on the receipt. It felt like harassment and was quite embarrassing. After a lengthy discussion with them they finally agreed, grudgingly; but not until all five of them inspected the item looking for flaws. I was very upset and angry about the incident.
Best place my parent have shopped in we alway we dragon fruit but we tried different asian snacks i love
The whole place has a strong fish odor, but the process arent too bad.
Fresh produce great prices. But they are inherently greedy, they will count the same thing over and over even if you truthfully tell them the quantity. They will also pack bags to the mouth just to savor few pennies. In addition, they dont have any canned beans, peas and such like the goya ones. In the end you do get a free pack of crackers or a pineapple or such which makes it worth shopping there
Good quality and quantityThere’s allot of seafoodFish that you can’t see in other placeBut it’s needed to be organized moreI like to go there
