This is hands down my favorite store. Not just in Philadelphia. Ever. They had so many amazing finds at quite reasonable prices. It was so hard for me to bring myself to leave the store and not bring everything with me. I recommend to anyone and everyone who has a taste for the unusual. The store was well stocked and the sales associate was knowledgeable, helpful, friendly, and (best of all) non pressuring. The products were very unique and so delightful. I will be returning here every chance I get to add a another couple pieces from this treasure chest to my collection!!

The name says it all. I bought two taxidermist ducklings, and used one to prank a co-worker.Fun, weird place. Well worth checking out. The staff was polite, and helpful.

Very strange, very unusual. They have a ton of miscellaneous things for your home and the staff is pleasant. Theres a lot here that is super unique so this place is worth checking out!

Loved this unique oddities hole in the wall place. Lots to see was there for 40 minutes. You can stare at each wall forever. The more you look the more things pop out. Smaller place but packed in a great way and plenty of walking path. Something for everyone!!!

Surprised my daughter and she loved it. I had been there before... Weird but cool. As long as my kids are happy... Im happy! Well be back!!!

Cute and unique items here. I got a small preserved? rat pup and a really cute Handbook for the recently deceased journal. If I had more money I definitely would have gotten more when I stopped by.

This is one of my favorite places to shop in the area. They have a variety of oddities type stuff, educational books, handmade jewelry, bones/taxidermy/wet specimens, some shirts and hats. Every thing is really cool and the employees are super friendly and knowledgeable. The woman at the counter made some great suggestions for a gift when I needed help.

This place is great! I got a Jackolople from here and I love it. I had issues with one of my mounts (all my fault) and they were quick to help out and fix. Highly recommend stopping by.

Such a great store!! I wanted to buy everything but knew it wouldn’t survive a plane ride so next time I’m driving up. Prices were very reasonable and the chick working was awesome. She was very knowledgeable about everything in the store and was super nice. I’ll definitely be back!!

Bought a t-shirt and a goldfish in a plastic block. Stared at a mounted rat head wearing a crown and was sorely tempted to buy it. The stillborn mule in a jar? Magnificent. A great oddity store. Very impressive.Staff were very accommodating and brought out the cute rat head for me to look at, as well as providing more info about it should I change my mind. I really liked the store.

Plenty of things to take a look at that are as the name suggests. It is always a place I go when I have someone with me to show them and for my own browsing.

Irrefutably a rare experience; The Strange and Unusual is a somewhat-hidden gem deep within The City of Brotherly Love. Upon entering the store youre received by numerous magnificent dead-things--perhaps it would be best to leave the children home before visiting. You then transition through a sea witchcraft, abomination, vintage taxidermy, and charming bits and pieces. Oh, there are some pretty b/a t-shirts as well. To keep it short, if you find yourself passing through the cradle of liberty, find your way over to South 4th Street for a little adventure into darkness.

The items are certainly strange and unusual, but very interesting and fun. Lots of taxidermy and preserved animals and skeletons. Some newer items, but mostly a fascinating collection of antiques.

Found this little shop while visiting Philly thanks to someone I follow on IG. Absolutely loved the shop and wish Id had more time to look through it. I did purchase a gorgeous moth in a shadowbox as my Philly souvenir and cant wait to hang it up!

Creepy and weird and I absolutely loved it. Bought a black widow spider in a vile. First time visiting Philly, would definitely stop by again next time Im in town.

From the outside I was very excited to go in and was very impressed by the beautiful pieces inside. Unfortunately I have to knock three stars off for the young woman behind the counter. I politely asked where the taxidermy was collected from, local artists, etc, and she gave me the rudest response of magic, looking at me like I was dirt. What she didnt know was that I was genuinely interested in the $400 winged rats piece to take home that day and to later collect the other ones. For a shop with expensive wares Id choose better sales associates to represent them. She had green, and orange hair if the owners are curious. I have zero interest in going back now.

Not as strange and unusual as I thought it would be, but thats a good thing! The ladies that work there are super nice and chill, even when my kid almost broke one of their crystal balls.

Thanks to Black Craft Cult for posting on Instagram about this shop while we ironically happened to be in Philly on vacation. The minute we saw what they were about we had to check them out. So glad that we did. The shop is absolutely stunning. I felt right at home. The girl working at the counter was very nice. We picked up a shop tshirt and a crow head necklace. Had we had the money we would have purchased everything in the shop!
