Quiet place to browse used books! I found quite a few to get, and I plan on dropping off some of my old ones next time. Super nice guy showed me where stuff is and rang me up, definitely check it out!
This is one of the most unique places Ive ever been; it is a non-profit organization operated by a group of extremely compassionate volunteers who will do anything to help anyone. They just gave away hundreds of free books today and donate many of their books to prisoners. I had such a great experience there today. Anyone who loves books and is looking for somewhere to volunteer - this is the place!!!!!
This place always has a great selection, knowledgeable and friendly staff, and is so well organized! The prices are the best and we just love the $1 sales!!!
Very nice staff. A great selection of books. And its very nice to be able to donate books that can be used instead of being thrown away.
So many interesting books for good prices. They also do some good community work with books for prisoners!
Its a very nice bookstore
Everyone was very nice and appreciative that I donated books and was very helpful! They offered to take everything out of the car aswell overall a great experience.
I love this little book store I get lost in hear it truly is a special place thanks
Awesome independent bookstore. Great staff. Quite the selection of books that are a bit rare. Does good work for the community and runs good programs that helps out prisoners.
Great local book store attached to First City Arts Center complex. They have an interesting variety of used books of many genres. Its all pretty organized and the volunteer staff are helpful. They also take donations to distribute to prisoners for their reading and education. I have dropped off several boxes of books here and its always been an easy way to clear out some space at the house.
Love this place! They have a great mission and they are really friendly. We will definitely go back.
I really like this place. What they do is pretty awesome. Keep up the good work.
This cozy second-hand bookstore with a great mission is one of my favorite Pensacola discoveries. All profits from their book sales go towards prison book projects which includes shipping books each week to prisoners. They have new inventory all the time and lots of books that one wont find at Barnes and Noble. The staff is always friendly and willing to help search for a specific item. Lots of local and underground published books.
Such a cool place with so many great books, pamphlets, and comics. The prison project that this place does makes it the best books store around. The guy running it was a little rude at first but once I got talking to him he was super helpful about recommending authors and artists I might like. I would highly recommend you check this little place out.
I love going to help pack books for inmates on Wednesday nights. What a rewarding and eye-opening experience. These folks are doing a wonderful thing!
A great independent bookstore with a lot of used books, some cds, and a few dvds. also is the site of the books for prisoners project, a nonprofit that supplies books to inmates. i think this is a worthy cause and an awesome shop.
Like books? Like truly good natured people? A hidden Pensacola treasure. Go check it out.
Great program for the prisoners, but no credit or exchange for the 20 books we brought in? Employee was rude. Every used paperback book we picked up (some were 15 to 20 years old) was either $7 or $5. What???
Great little bookstore with an awesome literature selection!
Great people doing great things like giving books to prisoners. Saw a open poetry reading here. Very interesting, very intellectual.
LOVE LOVE LOVE this place. Everyone is super nice. This store is a nonprofit and they support a great cause.
You should definitely check out this amazing book store!
An excellent independent non-profit book store that works hard to supply reading material for prisoners.
Great little shop, had all of the sci Fi books Ive ever wanted and more! Great quality, and Super cheap too!
Book selections great, shows are great, everything it stands for is awesome.
Great little store with an even better history of community contribution
An awesome nonprofit organization w/great selection of books
They dont open on time or answer the phone
Open Books is the only co-op, non-profit, volunteer run bookstore in Pensacola. We carry new and used books of all genres; including contemporary and classical literature, poetry, local authors, punk, zines, radical studies, labor studies, local/military/world history, and we also have a large section on latin american government, etc.Hope to see you soon!
Excellent little bookstore with great selection and welcoming staff.
Good books and ridicolously cheap prices. Excellent attention.
Great shop with lots of options and a wonderful cause.
Marvelous selection of used books. Proceeds go to support books for inmates.
Cramped and disorganized but run by volunteers, so what can ya say? Prices are the best in town though.
Hidden gem with one mighty cause. Looking forward to returning.
