This is my go to repair shop for my boat. Straight forward, honest and very well priced. Have no issues at all. I introduced myself to the owner and made him aware we just bought our first boat and know nothing about it. Explained what was going on, and surprisingly he understood my laymans terms for boat maintenance. So he explained things and made me feel very comfortable about sticking with them.

I am a owner of a boat with a Yamaha outboard,I brought my boat to the for a motor problem!!! After tell the service manager my problems I was having with the motor.he asked me two questions.He then said that he knew what was wrong...Two days later he said that the problem parts had been replaced and I was good to go!!!!!! I took my boat to the water and wow she ran beautiful!!!! All I can I say the were awesome and they are very good at what they do Ben was the name of the mechanic and the owners were great!!!!!! I would recommend them abs will in the future take my boat to them!!!!!!

These guys are great. Its pretty hard to find a reputable marina that will work on older 2 strokes, but these guys can do it all. Ive gone to them twice so far, and have been very impressed. They are honest people and charge a fair price for the work they do. I dont have to worry about getting uncharged or hit with unnecessary or surprise costs like many other marinas.

I just really appreciate David and his wife answering a lot of questions over the years. They have a lot of used parts too. I recently had a repair done and it was less expensive than I thought!

Brought boat in it was not running had been setting up for a while. They checked it out told me what it needed and got it running again. They provide quality service at a fair price. They stand behind the work, I had an unrelated problem(trash in fuel got in a carburetor after running it )brought it back they took care of it no problem. I have used Sunset Marine for well over a decade now and have always been pleased. They are a family owned and operated company. David is a straight shooter and will diagnose the problem, give you options and let you decide the direction to proceed. He kept my Yamaha 115 running well past its natural lifespan and then helped me with my new Yamaha 130 install. He also helped me by selling my Jon boat at his highly visible 9 mile road location fairly quickly. If you need to sell a boat, buy parts, repair your boat, get some electronics installed or have your trailer worked on, this is the place.

Iv been taking boats to them about two years now and I am always happy with the service. The owners and staff are very honest and informative at Sunset Marine, if there is any change to the job, they contact you immediately before they start working on it (to get your approval). They always get my boat in and out everytime in a very timely manner. I would recommend if you need any work done on boats bringing it to Sunset, they Will do you RIGHT!

I took my pontoon boat with a 115hp mercury there last week. They had me all fixed up and much cheaper than I expected! It seems these days that people just want to charge you as much as they can get away with and not actually do the work, not at Sunset Marine. I had the lower cowling off as I was working on it before I gave up and let the professionals do it. They didnt have to but put the entire cowling on so I could give it a test run as soon as I picked it up! Thanks again, you all are awesome!

First time boat owner. Asked them to do a full service and to check to make sure everything is working so I dont have issues out on the water, also to fix the nav lights because they werent working. The service they did was new oil, filters, water pump. However, the only reason why I am giving 3 stars is because they only fixed the one all around stern light, they did not fix the green/red nav lights on the bow. Also, they did not check to see if the bilge pump was working, found out it wasnt when I had water in the hull. When I asked if they checked everything before I left, they said yeah, its all good to go. Best suggestion is to trust but verify before you leave the parking lot. Fair price for the service, just expected better quality.

Been using them for over 20 years now,for all of my boat repairs....and I have owned a lot of boatsHighly recommended them for all of your boating needs.

Worst service I have ever experienced. Quoted me one price then when I showed the price was $180 more then I expected to pay. And not even a phone call to tell me the price changed. When I got my foot home and installed it on my motor. It was worse then before. Had to take it back off and to another mechanic. Just to find out. All the things they told me they changed was not changed. I called the owner about it and he said he was not going to stand behind there work because I installed the door myself. $400 dollars down the drain. I will NEVER darken the doors of this shop again. Wish I had read these reviews before I let them screw me out of my money. On a side note. I never had an issue with my water pump. Now that I got my foot back my water pump doesn’t work now. Unbelievable. Beyond ticked.

I have been boating before I could walk and Ive dealt with boat mechanics all over Florida. They are fair with prices and know ther stuff. They have never done me wrong and have even taught me how to fix a few things on my own to save me money. The owners David and Teri are the nicest people I know and would never do anyone wrong. Bring your boat here if you need it fixed you wont regret it.

The lower unit went out on my 20 foot stratus and i pulled my old one off and took it to them they found one for it and i got it back home and something was not right with it and i took my boat to them and within a week they called me and it was all right

Ive used Sunset Marine for about two years now for my 79 Mako CC. In June of 2014 I decided to get my impeller replaced for the first time and David the Owner gave me a quote for my Suzuki dt85. After only a short couple of days they called and said to come pick it up. I was so happy that my wife and I got to enjoy the Blue Angels air show from my boat for the first time! about a month after I got the impeller replaced I noticed my engine was running hot at high rpm. After a Sunday trip to a few local spots in Pensacola I was pretty sure I ran up on some sand and this was the cause. I told David what had happened, said I was positive there was sand clogging the cooling system in the engine. I was prepared to sped the same money for him to take it all apart and possibly replace the impeller again. After about 4 hours I got a call from Sunset Marine and they said it was running great and ready to pick up NO CHARGE!! I was ecstatic, and headed that way immediately. When I asked what the cause of the problem was they said they found an Seal (o-ring) that must had been damaged when they installed the impeller over a month and several trips ago. They said they replaced it and water tested it and everything was perfect again. They even mentioned they topped off my tilt-trim fluid because it was a little low. If you can Imagine I was so happy to leave there, I took the boat straight to the water and enjoyed the rest of the day on the water. I trust David and the staff at Sunset Marine, and will continue to recommend their great work!

I took my 16.6 ft Florida sportsman there to have the cabs clean they gave me one price great .David the owner called me up a few days later and said that my boat was over heating and i meed to put an impeller in I said ok do it he told me $615 .00.that wad all that need for my boat I was happy .got a call about a week later saying my boat was ready and it runs great .I then go picked up my boat .took it home for the momorial holiday put the boat in the water it wont start I was pissed knowing that David sing that it w as ready for the water and the boat wont even start or even better stay running .I then took it back to him the next day of business I stayed there for a week then I went up there to check on my boat because David did not call me to say nothing about my boat .come to find out he said that this boat was running very good and I messed up it he said I messed it up how can you mess up a boat that wont even run they f***up my boat and charged me $622 to do that

Never again will I take my boat back to Sunset Marine a.k.a. Outboard Salvage in Pensacola. I got a $400 bill and an unusable boat back with problems it never had before it went in. Now it leaks oil, it never did before. Water pressure guage not working, it worked before it went in. My advice to you is do a thorough online review search before you even think of taking your boat here, theres plenty of experiences like mine.As of 9-27-2016, I took my boat to another mechanic and he said the work Sunset Marine claimed to have done, they didnt do. The impeller was not changed because it shows wear. The foot oil was never changed. 3 spark plugs were changed and it costs me $400. Filed a BBB report, Sunset Marine a.k.a. Outboard Salvage never answered BBB or me. People need to know about this.
