After having to return a trailer due to a flat tire, the clerk was unwilling to help load my exchanged trailer. She literally stood there as I tried to hitch the trailer to my car and would not assist me. I then went inside to get help where an awesome associate Nicole was so helpful. Nicole gets five stars. A few day ago I was recommended by a friend to get installed a brake control they didn’t connect it right and the matter of that problem all my lights weren’t working took it back and still couldn’t find the problem took it to RSP auto enterprise had to pay almost 1000$ to fix there mistake don’t recommend this place for electrical issues

Got a dirt car that needed maintenance.Because I had some dirt on my shoes, I got charged a cleaning fee!Won’t recommend this place at all.There will be no more Uhaul in the future for me, lost me as a customer.

Was told by the Pelham location that we couldn’t return a rental and it had to be the one that was listed as the return location. Once we get to the return location their system was down. The lady at the place the system was down told us since it was a one way rental that it could be returned at any location. Went to one a mile down the road and they returned it with no problem. Pelham UHAUL must have been too lazy to do the return!

Young girl working front desk likes to ridicule customers who come in to inquire about renting a truck. Then laughs at them as they leave. Do not reccomend

Picked up a trailer. They left me in the parking lot for 40 minutes waiting on them because they forgot I was out there. When I returned the trailer, they said the system was down so they couldn’t check it in. Just got my bill- TWICE WHAT IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN. Won’t be going back to uhaul if I can avoid it. Just spent 40 minutes on hold to question the charge and I was disconnected. UGH!!!

Called Uhaul in Pelham AL .Asked if I can get some propane tanks filled.Some woman answered phone and said yes. Drove 20 miles to Uhaul in a somewhat rainy day. Was told by a kinda Asian looking young woman that they do not fill Propane tanks due to it Raining. Asked to speak to manager and was told he not there and manager said that was their policy..No Propane on Rainy Days. Yet there were plenty of workers renting trailers in the rain.Raining Really?Rude Service real Bad..better to go to Vestavia Hills location, no problems thereStay Away from this Uhaul

I was a little afraid of the reviews on here, but went ahead and rented a 26ft truck from them for 10 days. I had to move my mom out of her home and then to her new home a week later, all local. I rented for 10 days and reserved the truck to come pick up at 6:45pm on a Friday. On Wednesday I called them to verify and ask if I could come early, around 3:30pm to pick it up. They verified that I could. I then showed up about 2:20pm on Friday and they were still able to get me the truck. Please note that they do everything by quarter hours. My rental started at 2:15pm on Friday for 10 days, but I was told I could bring it back early. I brought it back around 1:45pm (1:37pm actual) on Saturday, 8 days later and they only charged me for 8 days and 81 miles used, even though I thought it was over 100 miles. I also brought it back exactly on one-half tank, which was what it was when I left and they told me to do. Although 2 trucks were ahead on me in line at check-in, the young guy there with a mobile app was able to check me in within 5 or 10 minutes. Probably helped that I had swept out the truck ahead of time for them and was nice to them as well. Overall I was very well pleased with this location!

Original reservation in Hoover, AL. Changed to Pelham without my knowledge. Arrived after a 4 hour trip from Atlanta, and Pelham had my reservation, but no truck for me. Emailed general manager and he didn’t have the courtesy to respond. Then had to drive to Birmingham for a 26 foot when I had reserved a 10 foot. Lost hours and had to pay more in fuel for a truck way bigger than I needed. Awful experience. Will never rent from U-Haul again.

I went in to rent a truck. Their credit card machine would not read my card. I said I had another card from another account I had that didn’t have very much money in it. I was told by the GM that they do not charge you until after you return the truck. My estimate was around 80$. I transferred 100$ to that account to cover the 80$ plus a little if I went over the estimated mileage. They charged the estimate initially. (Which I was told would not happen) When I returned the truck I was a little over the mileage about 13$. Well, they had pending charges for the 80$, the 13$ difference, and then finally the actual total. There were 3 different charges by them totaling 180$ or so. I didn’t check the balance on that extra account I had until it was too late. I was moving and had other things on my mind. The 80$ initial charge stayed on there for a couple days while the final charge went through. This gave me a 35$ overdraft charge. I was straight up lied to about the way the charges work. I could have avoided this altogether if they knew what they were talking about. Save your breathe with a reply to redeem yourself, Pelham Uhaul. Beware!

I would give zero stars if that were an option. Jeremiah had better things to do than to help us. Sorry I inconvenienced him to do his job. And whoever else was at the front just left. Couldn’t even bother to say, “ I will be right with you” or “I will be right back”. Lost my business because we just left and will lose all future business. Budget might be a tad more but I’ll pay the quarter more and get decent service.

I reserved (online) 2 appliance dollies, went to pick them up...they had no reservation...told me I was mistaken. I had my reservation info printed for proof of reservation in hand. They eventually find it. I pay, they load them. Then a rep comes hollering you cant have those I have a customer here renting a truck that needs them. He took them out of my truck. I was refunded and left very angry. I hope I never need U-haul again. I will do my best to avoid them.

Stopped by there yesterday to get a part to hook my trailer lights to my SUV. The guy there was dealing with a very unreasonable person on the phone. He handled it better than I would have! After he took care of that he was very helpful and kind to help me out. I left there with lights working! Thank you so much! I would highly recommend them.

Worst costumer service ever!

Terrible customer service. Shady business tactics. Ordered a truck online with a guarantee or i get 50$ (was the ad). A family member went to pick up and they said yeah we have the truck, BUT its in another city. Wth? So my family member drives to said city- truck he was supposed to get is gone because the manager at Pelham went into my order and changed it without asking me within the time it took my family to drive from Pelham to the other city! THEN, the manager at that location was rude as well, ARGUING WILDLY with us that we didnt have a reservation or that it was wrong when my family had a screen shot IN HAND AS PROOF in their face....but STILL sent my family on a wild goose chase to the hood of Birmingham to finally get a truck and after it was ALL said and done guess what? it STILL wasnt the right size that I ordered. It could have been remedied in so many ways- an apology maybe- a discount off the truck (since we didnt want a humongous size truck!), a bit of empathy because their online system double books the trucks (not my problem)...but NOOO- we got NONE of that. We got RUDE, talk-back, UNprofessional bafoons that we had to deal with, on top of what was already a very stressful situation at hand. I will never be using Uhaul or recommending them again- especially not this office and its manager.

Poor service. They disconnected the call service button for propane but didn’t bother putting a sign out or anything.Last week when they ran out of propane they redirected me to Vestavia U-haul. I recommend them. They have employees trained to fill propane and they are pleasant.

Allison Rocks. She was very helpful and patient with me during my crisis weekend and she made sure I was well taken care. The facility is pretty nice too. We used the inside and outside.

Terrible customer service!!! If I could give them no stars I would..I went to fill my propane tank for the holidays on a Saturday morning, but was informed that the only employee certified to fill propane tanks just went home for the weekend and wouldnt return to Monday???? Had to drive Vestavia for propane ... will never return to this place!!!!!

This place is completely useless. Dont waste your time stopping by. Go to the vestavia uhaul. Didnt catch the guys name at the front counter but old dude up front needs to find another job if he doesnt like assisting customers.

I rented a storage garage for a car for one year. They wanted to go up on the rent after the year was up. When, I tried to negotiate, they said its not negotiable.. I said; oh yes, it is. Ill move out and you get $zero. I moved across the street for bigger place, less $

Customer service is absolutely worthless. You dont tell people that they have 24 hour access- let them leave their belongings within the premises and then not allow them to get in and then not answer the phone. Absolutely NO REGARD for their customers at all. Do not use them.

This U-Haul location has moved our pick-up location for a truck the night before our scheduled pick up on two separate occasions! Hugely inconvenient - I do not recommend this location.

Good place to buy and rent moving supplies. They need more employees - there was only one person working the counter.

Rented truck for 1 day and they tried to charge me for 2. Then didnt apologize and werent very nice about correcting it. Tried to act like it was my fault for bringing it back late. I called my husband right before I left their parking lot the day I rented so have time stamp on my phone, it was at 4:40 pm. The next day I bought gas across the street so have time stamped receipt for 4:11 pm. They said I rented the truck at 4:07 and returned it at 4:17! So even if that were true then what kind of a company charges its customers for 10-minutes?! One that obviously doesnt care about its customer relations. And, they never said when I rented it make sure to have it back by 4 pm tomorrow or you will be charged an extra day. Instead what the guy actually told me was so have it back about this same time tomorrow. ! And, the first place I went to make the initial reservation told me that the AVERAGE time people use these trucks for around town is 3-4 hours! SO, most of the time U-haul is getting a full day rental charge when people only have the truck out for a few hours. Giving them the opportunity to re-rent the same truck several times a day, and each time charging for a full 24-hours. This would more than cover them when a customer does have a truck out for a little longer than 24-hours. I would think their grace period would be an hour or two, not 10-minutes! Im in my 50s and have rented cars all over the country for decades and they all have generous grace periods. A smile, a thank you for renting with us and an apology for the error is how it should have been handle. Next time I need a rental truck I will go to the U-haul in Vestavia Hill where the counter person was super nice and very helpful. Or will check with Home Depot or one of the many other truck rental places available today.

If you go here and see a 20-30 year old lady working there, turn around immediately. She has no experience with customer service and is very rude to people and unprofessional. I waited almost 30 minutes to get any help after ringing the bell, she comes out yelling at me and throws a temper tantrum like a child. She has no place to work with customers when she cant act like an adult.

Horrible, rude attitudes, poor treatment of my belongings, messed up m,y stuff. I am no longer using these services at this location. And I plan on taking more action against this location until I get some kind of an apology.
