I went to custom paint after hitting the garage door frame with my beloved camaro. I was sick that I was gonna have to shell out what I thought would be 1000s of dollars in repair. Tyler came out to give me an estimate and said, “I can fix it right now”. He came out with a few tools and in 5-10 minutes, you could not tell it had happened. He could have done an estimate and charged me whatever and I probably would have paid it. The professional service and care he showed toward me and my vehicle was astonishing. In a world where people often take advantage of you, I was treated more like a friend or family member. I will never take my vehicles anywhere else and you shouldn’t either.

Custom Paint & Collision has performed two auto body repairs for us and we couldnt be more pleased with their commitment to quality work. After our first repair we later found an ever so minor defect after leaving, we brought it back and they fixed it immediately, no questions asked and followed up with us repeatedly to make sure we were satisfied. We are so pleased with their work and attitude we came to them again after dear daughter hit a trailer hitch in a parking lot (face palm); again, fast, high-quality, hassle-free work at a very fair price. I hope to not *need* their services again, but with multiple teenage drivers in the house, I will head right back to Custom Paint & Collision when I do (fingers crossed!).

Tyler-best ever. I went to Gerber first to get an estimate, was looking trying to find anything to charge for. Tyler spent time with me. Told him my accident, explained everything in detail and why. And best part, Gerber told me that my insurance would pay my deductible and I was responsible for everything else. Tyler quickly explained how inaccurate that was.Highly recommend

My 2008 Toyota Highlander was hit which damaged the right front fender, front bumper and wheel/tire. I took my car in for a quote to remove door dings and a dealer decal. I received a quote for the dings and Tyler (I hope I remembered his mane correctly!) actually removed the decal on the spot, free of charge, and then he referred me to ProDent in Cahaba Heights, as they would be a bit cheaper. I have popped a fog light out and was looking for someone that could pull it out and back in place...the light was not broken just feel in my bumper. I stopped by a oil change place, Nissan dealership and a paint and body place for everyone said no they couldn’t help me. On my way home passed by Custom Paint and Collision Center and decide to ask them. Tyler helped me with no problems or questions and 5 minutes later he was done. Tyler could have charged me but he didn’t. I just received a email from paint and body place with a quote of $241.37 to put my fog light back in. We have taken our cars to Custom Paint & Collision Center for several years. They have always done beautiful work on all repairs. Today we stopped by for an estimate on the front bumper of our Acura. Tyler took one look at it and said that we just needed a few new clips. He installed them on the spot, and it fixed the problem. The big surprise was that he wouldnt accept any money for the service! I guess I was really grateful during this difficult time of Covid-19 that someone would make a repair for free, when he could have charged a couple hundred dollars. Thank you again Tyler! Came in for an estimate on a very small repair. Took less than a minute to fix. The waiting area was nice and clean. Tyler was extra nice and knowledgeable. If I need a larger collision repair, I will certainly consider Custom Paint & Collision Center.

Starting with a disaster of timing and double trouble of repairs, they had their hands full with my truck.Before Christmas I was side swiped by a suv running a red light. With the holidays I chose to wait a few weeks on the repair to my bedside. Then the natural disaster of COVA hit. So I then waited for them to get back on track. But it was well worth the wait.Repair one to my truck quarter panel included removing a truck topper and carpet in the bed. They handled these repairs professionally by carefully uninstalling and reinstalling them, even the camper top and the carpet after replacing the bedside with a huge dent.I had several estimates. Custom was not the cheapest or most expensive but I was impressed with Tylers eye for detail. He noticed the other estimates did not include for important parts like the structural braces close to the tire that were crushed. And the tire rim dented in the accident that really needed replaced for safety.While I was getting the estimate, I complained to him of an old repair from another shop. I had been back to the previous repair shop many times for them to tell me I was stuck with their repairs. They had damaged my side windows and replaced them with cheap glass, spotty, too dark and thinner glass. The paint around the door handles were wrinkled and soon to be peeling paint. The door did not close properly and the safety bar had shotty welds and the weather stripping was not straight which caused the windows to leak.Tyler worked with my insurance and sent in photo proof of my complaints being legit. He was able to get the re repairs approved. They even had an insurance adjuster come to their shop to see how bad the previous repair shop was.They were able to schedule both repairs at the same time. This shortened my rental car time and got me back in my vehicle much quicker.Right before picking up my fixed vehicle that really looks new now, they sent it in for a quick checkup on the alignment, cleaning and sanitizing.Oh, and one more obstacle they helped me overcome... since I am a driver, I was a state away and could not be there before they closed. I keep a spare key so they locked it up and allowed me to pick up my vehicle that night. And since they are a common drop off for rental cars, I did not even have to return the rental.I will brag for a second here. Over the years paint will fade slightly. My truck ven number called for Ford Oxford White. Custom Paint took the time to match and fan in the paint to ensure a better paint match.

Custom Paint and Collision is by far one of the best companies I have ever done business with! They did exceptional work on my husbands truck when he got hit from behind. They recently fixed my Toyota 4 runner front right panel and did a FABULOUS JOB! unlike most collision repair companies, Tyler and the staff here fought my insurance company (Allstate) from the very beginning on requesting for OEM parts. I just got this car (2 months new to me) and was distraught when I got in a wreck. I wanted this car to still look as new as it was to me. I work in the automotive industry and I know how car parts work. I wanted OEM and nothing less. Tyler and the staff worked hard to get my Toyota back to 100% perfection and wouldnt take anything less until it was 100% fixed. They went above and beyond to take care of me. They are forever our #1 company to use for our vehicles. They even fixed my husbands door handle that broke a week ago right on the spot when we picked up my vehicle. they truly care about their customers and getting the job done right. 100% recommend them!

I had a wreck recently and ALFA insurance recommended Custom Paint & Collision. They definitely were top notch and went above and beyond in taking care of my car. I had minor bumper damage and when I got my car back, it was buffed and waxed completely and had been cleaned by them. Right before I left, I saw some paint that needed to be buffed out that was not related to the repair, so Tyler came and helped with this. He was very helpful and did not charge me for the extra paint/ buff. He was super friendly and seemed to enjoy helping others. The owner and the lady at the front desk were also super helpful in updating me throughout repairs and getting me in and out as quick as possible. Would definitely recommend Custom Paint and Collision to the Birmingham area.

Have used multiple times for work and personal vehicles. They have always fixed right the 1st time and they even fixed what another shop (Joe Hudson) messed up after an insurance company sent me to Joe Hudson in Hoover to get repairs it was very visible that it was not fixed and i drove it straight to Custom paint and collision and let them look at it. In the end Joe Hudson was paying this dealership to fix it correctly.

I put a decent-sized scratch in our new (to us) minivan. The staff at Custom Paint & Collision did such a good job repairing the scratch and matching the paint color that you cant even tell we had any work done. Their prices were reasonable, their staff was friendly, and they got the job done in a timely manner (even had it finished one day before we were expecting).If your car needs body work done, call Rick up. This was the BEST Car repair facility that I have ever been to in my 45 years of life. I had a 2007 Dodge Charger R/T that was in a horrid accident but the professionals here brought it back to life. Custom Paint and Collision is THE best paint and body shop in the area. Rick Merriam has handled several of the family fender benders over the years and each repair was flawless. Best paint matching Ive ever encountered. He also did a full paint restoration of my 25th anniversary edition Mustang and it was beautiful.Not sure why someone trashed him in this review. If there was a problem, Rick would take care of it. That review should be taken with a grain of salt and simply blown off as a person who didnt want to work through to resolve an issue.

I had my subaru sti detailed here for a car show in Atlanta needless to say i was swept away by the quality of the detail in the time it took amazing work even my mudflaps looked amazing my only slight calamity was my carbon fiber hood could have used a better polish but my car received much love at the show. All in all job well done and i will have my car detailed again here

My family and I have been using Custom Paint and Collision Center for 20 years now. And my driving record was horrible for awhile. We saw Rick very often. They have always done amazing work on our vechicals. Just recently had a hail damaged vechical repaired. Was blown away when I picked it up. Looked brand new. Honestly, I cant say anything bad about Rick and his team.

I took my Tacoma to Custom paint and Collision to have the fender repaired after a tree limb fell on it, bad idea, I got an estimate and a call that there looked to be some hail damage so I had them add that to the cost. These folks kept my truck for a month and when it was ready I found out they had replaced my front rain shields and they did not match the original, they did not install the passenger side rain shield straight, they did not fix the front grill as part of the original quote and had not painted the DS fender as quoted. So I left it with them for another week and when i got it back there was trash in the paint. I am sorry but you had my truck for a month and this is the best you could do. I think that since I was being so patient with them they put me on the back burner and took care of other customers who were screaming at them only to find they had let me got too long and then had to rush to get the repairs done. Those of you that have a good experience I am happy for you but I will never use them again.Update: The owner did call and apologize for the poor QC so perhaps my vehicle was a fluke, it has happened to me before.

Do not i repeat do not take your car to custom paint and collision in pelham! My car looks worse than it did before being hit by a deer. They messed up the paint on my roof and hood ( that they didnt even work on). It feels like sand paper! The fender isnt aligned right, and much more. Got my car back from Custom Paint and Collision for the 3rd time today! They finally fixed it! After a manager being a smart ass and cussing at me i called geico and i spoke with the regional adjuster supervisor. Geico told me that they WOULD fix my car. Well i got it back today im im extremely shocked that it is actually fixed!! Do not bring your car to this shop they are horrible and the management staff are so unprofessional and they will lie straight to your face to cover their own ass!
