We had to goto 2 locations to get our truck, but... they were very helpful! The gas tank was on empty but after that, the service was excellent. We would use them again.

Ive been using U-Haul for years but this spot if not the worst customer service I went and did it myself at another facility and got satisfaction Will never go back to that spot again!

Don.t like the place.I needed a van too move and they won.t because I don.t have credit card.I pay with cash.they don.t want.i had too get movers cost lots money.What happen to the good old days pc with cash eady.not no more.Anyway place is bad buissneds.

Bruce was very nice and extremely helpful. He was by himself and managed to help everyone. Definitely recommend this place to rent a truck or van.

Sunday May 30 @ 9:30am we walk into this Uhaul the gentleman in the front desk has no customer service training..... When we walked in he already had an attitude saying he had no trucks available to rent we went to our car to see if we can rent a truck from another uhaul rental place & guess what we discovered that In this same premises they were multiple trucks available so we did our reservation Online went back inside & with his attitude he asks “SO WHAT DO YOU WANT NOW?” & we kindly asked for our keys of the truck we rented.... What kind of people do you have working for you UHAUL?... They need Customer Service Training WILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN!!!!

This place will steal money from you. They will charge you for supplies you didnt use, then tell you they will refund you, then they will stop responding entirely. What a poorly run location.

Uhaul out of Newark just plays games and sends you running around instead of just saying they dont know. They make contracts with you and cant fulfill their end of the deal but be late 5 mi utes and they want to charge you an arm and a leg. Now Uhaul out of Paterson NJ went far out of their way to accommodate me with my needs. They were friendly and helped me with meeting my deadline. Paterson Uhaul you will always get my business. Uhaul in Newark NJ I will never recommend you to anyone. Your disrespectful you dont care about your clients and you make false contracts. You rate 0 for me and for whom ever may ask about you.

We had a very good experience at the U haul on Market Street. Manager Bruce was very helpful! There was a problem with our reservation and Bruce went above and beyond to help us get the truck we needed this morning which made all the difference for our move. The staff who were there when we returned the truck this evening were nice too.

Came in for a hitch installation only to find out that they dont have my hitch and no mechanic to install it, they asked me to call back the next day to find out if they can get a part from other location. Person on the phone was rude, didnt want to talk to me at all, always interrupting me and talking to someone else.

Very bad service

I got a hitch installed here in 08/2020 on a Subaru Outback 2017.The heat guard was placed improperly on my Subaru. As a result, the car made a terrible noise when turned on. I was told that the mechanic was not available to fix the issue and to go to another location if I wanted it fixed.When I got to the second U-haul location, the mechanic was in shock that someone would give me the car in such a state because the problem was so noticeable.

The online experience was great but I found it weird that some guys were already sitting in the truck I rented. When I came over, perplexed they asked if I need labor help. It made me feel uncomfortable leaving the truck later, expecting these two to come back and hang out in the truck. Dont want to be blamed for any smoking or such. Also the truck had some sort of fly problem. I dont know where they came from but a couple ended up moving in with me.

Manager was not understanding. He did not allowed me to take a mount truck because one of the lights was malfunctioned. When I spoke to a Uhaul representative they apologized because Paterson could have let me take it at my own risk.

They over charge me . Dont try to rent here check out any other place. I just called to see it some one explain to me how u-haul charge me days later with out my permission they transfer me to customer service and left me on hold

Unfriendly employees and very slow. They take their sweet time even for the simplest things. Not happy. The extra star is to U-haul, for their mobile check-in.

Despite the bad reviews I went to rent a ban and I bumped into my father who was returning a teuck and my father was having a dispute with a staff member that was trying to rip my father off 25 dollars worth of gas. Im pretty sure these people make a killing of other people that do not know any better.

Rented a storage trailer about a week ago and I was served by one of the rudest and childish staff members. Whenever I would ask to explain something, he would roll his eyes and sigh. When I didnt understand the question, he rolled his eyes and sighed. Walked out talking on the phone and kept ignoring me when I was asking questions. He straight up demanded me to move my car because he wasnt gonna move the trailer (rightfully so but he should be polite about it) . I dont expect you to be enthusiastic and giddy beyond belief because you work in but at the very minimum be professional.

Great service, but wait was little too long

This was my second week in a row in renting van/truck from this U-Haul place (838 market st. paterson, nj) where I made a Reservation via online for an 8 truck with $11 Damage protection. I picked up a van (they didnt have 8 truck ready) and went to Home Depot to pick up a patio set. Once we opened the rear door we couldnt close/lock it anymore. There were people witnessed by Home Depot. I came back to the U-Haul store and let the person know and he said that I am good, he will inform his manager. I should be good because I didnt break anything. Now I was charged $300 for the rear door latch. I went back to the place twice and finally speak with a manager. wow that guy has really really bad attitude! It appeared that the guy who was helping me removed my Damage protection! It seems I was set up with this whole thing. I wish I would open and close all the door although I took pictures and videoed around the van. I was basically mugged by your people!! I WOULD NEVER RENT U-HUAL VAN/TRUCK AND WILL TELL ALL MY FRIENDS AND FAMILIES NOT TO RENT EITHER!

The lady by the name Iris i dont know if she was the manager in there or not but she gave us the worst customer service. My husband try explaining he tried bringing back the truck the same way he got it which was 3/4 of gas but when he took it to the gasoline station he asked the man to fill up 5 dollars instead he filled it up and when we try explaining that to Ms Iris she treated us like we were stupid and stated that was not her problem and wasnt going to refund us back. There was no need with the bad customer service there was no need to treat my husband bad and she even stated to him out loud now you listen to me, and let me say my husband try explaing to her in english not being rude. I am so disappointed if she is the manager in there that is such a bad reputation for your company

Worst place ever. The so called assistant manager is a piece of garbage with no customer service skills what so ever. I reserved a truck 2 weeks in advance and i go to pick it on my moving day and they dont have the damn truck, then they tell me i have to go to saddle brook to get it. When i called to speak with the manager they hung up on me. Nothing but waste of life working in that place. They need to fire all the worthless rude employees there and get people that know what they are doing.

They are terrible over $300 to rent a van with 100 miles go elsewhere please, i wish i could give less stars

I requested a type of van to rent and they gave me an older one, I spoke to the manager and he just ignored my request, the first thing he did was take the money from my card, he put the van outside the store and he told me it was ready, When I saw her she told me that she was fine, I told her that I did not want that van and she disappeared, I did not expect this bad experience with UHAUL, a company that a very close friend recommended to me, I hope they improve their services, Thank you.
