I was apprehensive about traveling from LONG ISLAND to see my son get his feelings hurt, but the experience was far from a disappointment. Everyone from Imports Auto sales was nice and very patient. We had the opportunity to give a rigorous test -drive, rather than just looking at an vehicle compared to most New York Dealerships, who just want you to just sign your life away. With all of this being said, my Son made his first purchase from this Dealership which changed his expectations which encouraged him to understand that: There are some Good car salesmen in the Tri-State area, and it was worth the trip!The Coopers!

I went to Import Auto Sales, looking for my first car. I knew nothing about cars and being a female by myself I scared of making the wrong choice. As soon as I step on to the property I was greeted by Steve. He listened to my concerns and what I wanted and now a month later after my purchase I knew I made the right choice. I absolutely love my Honda Civic and will definitely recommend him for anyone that’s looking for a car.

Buyers BEWARE purchased a 2010 chevy tahoe from Steve who insured me it was safe because I have a son with a wheel chair well it was anything but that 1 day after while driving my son it broke down called the owner right away who really didnt care told me have it towed so his mechanic can look at it what I did which anyone would do was had 2 different mechanics look at it with BOTH saying the same thing motor mounts shot misfire on cylinder 7,inner tie rods so I had the work done came to $1,000 now I was realistic I didnt want to return the vehicle because they charge me 15k cash which I paid in full but also being a car salesman for 8yrs myself there should be a honor but once they have your money your nothing to them asked for the 1k thats all the owner was rude the threatened me so now I will go to small claims court but if you have someone who needs a safe reliable vehicle and not just junk that they clear the engine light on ogo SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!!! They have no regard for kids or your own safety

I went to go see a 350z and I liked the pictures and it looked very clean. When I went to go see it it had a big scratch on the hood, chips in the paint, curb rash on the wheels, radio was basically broken I couldn’t even lower the volume. I was still willing to take it home, but I was not paying $10,000 for a 2005-2006 with 120,000 miles. So I asked Steven to work with me and they said the price is not negotiable. Very bad attitude. I DO NOT RECOMMEND GOING HERE!!

I have to say that this dealership went above and beyond all expectations. I purchased my vehicle out of state and they did everything I asked to reassure me that the vehicle was in proper working condition.They were responsive and attentive to all of my concerns and made the process seamless and extremely easy. I visited in September 2020 after calling and getting the OK to come in and test drive a car I was looking at. After driving an hour to the dealership, I was suddenly told that I wouldnt be able to test drive the car unless I was sure I was buying it. Keep in mind that I had literally never stepped in this particular model of vehicle before. For obvious reasons, I objected, and they responded in an intimidating tone of voice trying to immediately push the sale on me. I explained that I had a few other cars I also wanted to look at elsewhere before deciding, and they told me come back after you look at the other ones - it didnt take me long to figure out that they were just being lazy and not wanting to move the car out of the lot for a test drive. So I left.Complete, utter, shameful waste of my time. This is exactly how to NOT run a dealership, used or not.

Purchased my 2010 Mazda 5 there about a month ago. You hear about extra fees being added from other dealerships but not from these guys. Fee I paid was only for license and registration and of course taxes.There is normal wear and tear from the vehicle I purchased but it is a 2010 so that is to be expected.I would purchase from these guys again.

I filed arbitration but i was met with resistance since I was 2 days late no surprise though ive been dealing with manheim almost 20 years i know car dealers keep their lights on .

Great place to buy a car! I went to Imports Auto to buy a car I found on CarGurus. I was a little hesitant at first I thought it was going to be a sketchy used car dealer. But from the moment I went in everything was great. It seems to be a family run business. They do not hound you trying to get you to buy a car like your typical car Salesmen would. If you are interested in a car you can just go check it out with no pressure. They are happy to help you however they can. Dealt with Steven to buy a cheap 2010 mazda5. Although the car was supposed to be sold as is, they changed the muffler that had a hole. They also lowered their dealer fee to honor what was advertised on truecars. They further agreed for us to have the car independently inspected at any of the numerous nearby garage (the car had a few small issues, but this is obviously expected from an old and cheap car).

Back in July, I contacted this dealer about a 2011 Honda Crosstour that I saw on the AAA referral page for used cars. Since I was referred by AAA, I felt comfortable visiting this dealer. I had looked at similar vehicles in my area that were more money, so with comparable mileage, I felt the price was fair.I called and met Steven at the dealership. I know a little about cars, but Im not a mechanic, though I should have brought one with me.The car seemed to drive okay, with the exception of a shimmy from the right front wheel, which I attributed to wheel balancing. Car was clean, engine was all clean & shiny (more on that later)Anyway, after driving, I said Id like to purchase the vehicle at the price that AAA had offered it for. He asked me for that price, and after seeing another ad, gave him a higher number than the AAA price. He didnt correct me, but shame on me for not returning to the AAA price on my phone to keep him honest. As a result, I ended up paying $500 more than the AAA price. Additionally, right before we concluded the transaction, Steven told me that he had to sell the vehicle as is, since hed lowered the price so much for this sale. More on this soon....After paying for the car, I drove it home, and Steven told me that hed forward the paperwork to register the car in NJ and get my plates. The day before my temporary plates had expired, I called the office because I still hadnt received my paperwork, and wanted an extension on my temp plates. Steven agreed to send them to me (why did I have to call at all?), and they were sent via FEDEX the next day, with no temp extension.I had to take a day off to get to NJ Motor Vehicles, only to have them tell me that they couldnt register the car because the transfer wasnt notarized (Its not required in CT, where the vehicle came from).Called their office again, and they told me to bring it to another MVC office, and it would be approved. I had to visit 3 different offices to get this done. Why wouldnt they tell me this could be an issue in advance? Theyre the auto sales experts, not me.I dont use conventional oil in my cars, so I brought the car to National Tire & Battery for a synthetic oil change. Oh, that clean engine? Well, it was clean on top, but underneath had a really bad leak, due to a bad gasket (they showed it to me prior to my approving the replacement).Okay, time for inspection. Day before I bring it, the check engine light comes on. They inspect the car, and give me the codes I failed for (emissions issues). I had to replace both Catalytic Converters, as well as all 4 of the O2 sensors, at a total cost of $2300 (I have all the receipts). This is when I began to look online, and found a lot of people complaining about this dealership. One even claimed the same thing happened with regard to a vehicle warranty, to which they responded that all vehicles under $3000 are sold as is, and carry no warranty. Well, my vehicle cost nearly 3 times that, why was I not given a warranty?So, the car I thought was a bargain compared to comparable vehicles (same car/year/similar mileage) wasnt a bargain at all. In fact, Ive ended up spending more money than I would have if I purchased on of the vehicles that I shopped for closer to where I live.I would have rated them a 1, but part of the responsibility is mine, for trusting them, especially with a AAA recommendation. Im pretty sure there will be a response from them, because they usually do any time someone gives them a poor review. With that said, I can assure you that this was my experience there. I see some of the reviews that claim this dealership is somehow scamming. Id like to think they arent, but the only other explanation I can give you is that theyre incompetent when it comes to the conditions of the vehicles. I would strongly urge you to have a mechanic look at the car youre considering for purchase from these guys. All used cars need a little $ put into them after you buy them, just not as much as I had to pay.

I wanted to buy a mazdaspeed3 from them i spent $335 to have the car sent to a Mazda dealership for a compression test, and full inspection on 2/12/2020. i told them i would lookup how much it was going to be to fix some issues WHICH WE COULD HAVE NEGOTIATED, so we could both agree on a price. They where very friendly and said this was not a problem.They then sold the car TWO DAYS LATER TO SOME ELSE, they could have at least told be i needed a deposit to keep the car from being sold! Thanks a-holes no im down $335

I bought a car here over a month ago. I travelled all the way from NYC to get this car. They sold me the car as is. Thats ok. I knew what I was getting myself into and accepted that. HOWEVER, I gave them a check for 10k and they told me they would mail me a check for the difference along with my registration and plates. 1 month later, my temporary plates are expired, I still didnt get my check in the mail. I HAD TO GO BACK TO THEM to demand my check in person, which they then wrote to me on the spot and they never did any paperwork to legally register my car. After all of that, they STILL want to inconvenience me by asking me to ONCE MORE go to New Jersey to meet with them and go to the DMV. All they were able to offer me was an extension to my temporary plates. I only came here because they had the car that I wanted at a really good price that no place else offered otherwise I would have NEVER driven to New Jersey to some shady dealership. I do not recommend this place to anyone who is looking for good customer service. Unless, you are a local and have nothing to lose, DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME. They didnt even offer me warranty when I asked. A car with 6 check engine codes and sold it as is and didnt even try to make it easy for me.

Purchased a vehicle from Import Auto Sales and was not disappointed at all. Got a good deal on my vehicle and the customer service was up to par. Real easy guys to deal with and they dont try to force a sale. Would have given a 5 star but I was charged an extra 100 dollars over the Internet price and I had to call up to receive my tags (wished they would have called). Other then that I would definitely repeat business with them, they are family owned and operated and it shows because their usually all on the same page.

Mix reviews on this dealership. They have decent vehicles but are not flexible. There is no negotiations with even if you are offering to pay with cash. Otherwise the salespeople are nice and friendly. I was able to purchase my car through them. Car needed minimal work. They need to be be more flexible with their customers, theyll attract more cliental.

I would give these guys a 1, but at least they are friendly people. Let me start by saying this was my first time buying a used car from a dealer. I put full trust in Imports to give me fair, concise, and accurate information; and that was just not the case.I purchased my car from them in August. It had a check engine light and EPC light. They read the codes and assured me the only problem with it was the fact that it had no catalytic converter, due to the “modified exhaust”. More on this later.After some consideration, and multiple reassurances that this was the only problem with the car, that they checked everything over, they still only offered it “as-is”. Now this should have thrown up a big red flag for me but I was naive. I had no problem fixing an exhaust and only an exhaust. So I bought it.Within the first week, I had a leaky rear main, a terrible idle, a terrible exhaust leak, and 5 engine light codes (for the rear main, high pressure fuel pump, and for the 02 sensors plus the EPC light. Not to mention, ALL of my brakes were incredibly worn down and also needed replacing, as well as the front sway bar links. I called them and read them off the codes and asked what we could do. They insisted they were all only emissions codes(which is blatantly false) and told me they disclosed the exhaust issue to me(actually true) and that they wouldn’t do anything about it. The point here is, there were many underlying issues they didn’t disclose or take responsibility for.To add insult to injury, they told me I would have my plates sent to me. I had to call them the day my temp tag expired because they hadn’t sent them, then I had to go and pick them up that day. If they had them, why weren’t they sent to me?I’m sure not all experiences are like mine with these guys, but just take caution when you’re dealing with them as they will not hesitate to rip you off.

These guys are the worst of the worst. Before you buy from them, please be very, very careful. They wont hesitate to rip you off. I mean its typical for every dealership to do so, but these guys take it to the max. They dont care, all they want is the money. They tend to hide serious faults and issues with every car they sell. They thrive on unsuspecting customers. It is definitely not a place to buy a car expecting peace of mind. I know because I was a victim of theirs. The first fool is not a fool. This is my third car, I knew every time I go there to trade my car I will get the right price for it, and get a newer one.Sales team are so friendly giving me guidance as I was a bit hesitated what to choose, they have a wide range of models and years, so the website was a good help to initially choose from.I got now my 2005 BMW X3 in great condition, I was surprised about the car age and how good is it.The tyres where good, clean oil, running and shifting like new and glowing car overall. The BMW emblem was damaged and they replaced it for me, I think they love BMW and Mercedes.

I was coming back from a business trip in NY, had been shopping for another SUV & saw a 2008 Chrysler Aspen here, so I stopped in.The staff was patient & accommodating as I inspected it before purchasing it. They also made a very good effort to answer my questions & try to resolve some deficiencies I discovered during my inspection. Based on what I found during my inspection, I was allowed a lower price than what they were asking. Within the next 24 hours after purchasing it, some other issues showed up that I felt should have been discovered prior to putting the car up for sale. I dont think they were trying to hide anything but felt the seller pre-sale inspection should have been more thorough & the issues on this one slipped by. I contacted them & we worked out an additional discount on the vehicle.Overall, there were a few quirks with the vehicle but it seems to be working out OK & I think I got a good value. The take away from this experience is it is a used vehicle & you need to take your time & be very thorough checking out your potential purchase. Get as much information about it as you can. In the next few years when I look for another car, I will probably consider another purchase from Imports.

I have been buying vehicles from import auto sales ever since the 90’s and I have never been disappointed! Fast forward to present time now I’ve been buying my kids’ cars there. So over the years it has been 8 or 9 cars altogether and I would not trust any other used car dealership! They are honest people there and will go out of their way to satisfy the customer. I’ve read some of the negatives reviews and I tell you: there will always be complainers that only see things their way but I guarantee you these guys are not trying to rip anyone off. They are the real deal. They are professionals! Otherwise why would any customer like myself keep coming back to them? And that is a fact not an opinion!

You have been warned!*in respose:Trustworthy: adjectiveable to be relied on as honest or truthful.synonyms: reliable, dependable, honest, full of integrity, worthy of trust, honorable, upright, principled, true, truthful, as good as ones word, ethical, virtuous, incorruptible, unimpeachable, above suspicionFirst off let’s start by not having full conversations in a different language in front of a customer in the middle of a sale.-Accurately documenting the correct cash deposit and not shorting it a few hundred dollars for your own ulterior motives.-30%+ interest!?-I NEED the gap insurance it’s a “combined deal” non-negotiable because i’m a “high risk?”-$6.8k price tag ending in a $10k+ contract for a car that wouldn’t pass inspection because of major hidden issues and diagnostic trouble codes-Replaced the absolutely stone cold dead battery with another not so dead old battery just to get the sale, couldn’t even set tire pressures or put enough gas in the car to at least get rid of the low fuellight...I could go on... bottom line is i could’ve been stuck with a broken car that couldn’t even pass inspection with a large debt and extraordinary interest that would’ve cost me eaqually as much to repair and if I spent the night home with the car and not bring it back within the hour I would have been stuck with that nightmare of an experience!STAY AWAY! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

They should close & cease operation. I just called about an LR2. First no one was there at 10:10am, although their opening time is listed as 10am. So I called back at 10:30am & clearly caught a salesman unprepared. I had to force him to tell me about the vehicle after I told him I lived some 175 miles away but was seriously interested. In the pictures on their website, the vehicle clearly needs at least 2 new tires. But I was still ready to make a deal that benefitted both parties. Instead of taking me seriously, the salesman said Im not going to make you any promises... . Promises on what? Im trying to purchase the vehicle over the phone!!! Make the sale moron! Take every call & walk in seriously import auto. You shouldnt have to force someone to sell you a car at an auto dealership. Makes no sense. But oh well, its their loss. Dont waste your time. There are plenty of larger more reputable dealerships not far from this bootleg place.

Wanted to purchase a car that was posted on Facebook market and was ignored. I sent a message that was not viewed. I can understand every possible situation why it was not answered, but the following day I resent a message and that was ignored up until they went and changed the price gave it a 400 dollar mark up. The guy then replied as if it was a new message I had just sent. When I asked about the price mark up he didnt even bother messaging. I know the whole Well if you wont purchase it someone else will or Dont like it dont care thing. I just dont think it was a right move on your business end.

Nice people,cars are no good. The car I had brought,had a warranty, until I said I was from out of state,so now the car was as is. I drive the car 300 miles, and the car shut down, with all these issues.... waste of time and money... so disappointed

Bought a 2007 Chevy Suburban for my family online. The seller flat out misrepresented the cars condition, from photos that didnt show the low oil pressure light on. The motor had a knock in it. The tires were stated to be passable 4-7/32 and they were bald. The condition disclosure said there was no damage on the exterior. The vehicle had a broken mirror housing and a torn rear bumper. These guys made no effort to make the transaction right, I was able to get out because they missed a title deadline. I would not do business again.
