One of the few places that makes me happy about living in NJ. One should definitely try kokoreç and ciğer if youre into them. One of the best you could find around. Always a pleasure.

You go to Galata Butcher not for the ambiance or service but for the food! We picked everything we wanted from the glass freezer and they made us an amazing platter of very tasty Turkish food! Great experience and would definitely come back

If you are from the area i would highly recommend you to try their food they have a great variety of food.Staff is very friendly, they grill the food on the spot. Great service and even better food very friendly atmosphere. They are open late which is a big plus. Seating could be a bit better but due to covid it shouldnt really matter. Do try their turkish coffee its very good!!

I have to say I wont be back here ever again. Ive ordered pick up 3x and every time they did me dirty. I called in a order for 2 adana wraps and everytime I went to pick it up it wasnt yet started. Then the guy has the nerve to lie to me everytime. Im done with this place. The only good thing about this place is the poor girl that works there. She is very nice and sweet.

From the beginning this place is my favorite restaurant in NJ. Nothing is overpriced. Staff is always very friendly. Every single meat is cooked very well and always fresh. Salads are always very fresh. Every time i try a dessert its also very fresh and delicious.I am pretty sure one day we are gonna have to do a reservation from weeks ago. So if you guys are reading this and still didnt try this place out. Your loss !

Went here with friend over the weekend after it being recommended by a family friend. The Food is fresh and made to order. The Kelle paca soup is very good and plentiful. The servers were very friendly and attentive. My only complain would be the AC was not working in 90 degree weather. It literally felt like a sauna. I used all the paper napkins on the table just to wipe my face. Not a good experience when your trying to enjoy your meal. For that reason I gave them 4 stars.

Poor customer service. Waited more than one hour for food. The waiter in front desk doesn’t even care even the kids were hungry. They need to improve the customer service first before serving food..One star for the customer service, but I admit food is good.

Yesterday was the first time we visited this place. But It is no doubt not the last time. We enjoyed the evening a lot with the efficient service, with the first-rate dishes and wine and with the honest payment. We will definitely come back soon.

Very slow service. Only 1 waitress working the tables.. we had to wait an hour to be seated and then food came a half hour after that so a total of 90 mins before we could eat. Waitress doesnt wear a mask and none of the other staff cover their mouth/nose. Very limited seating and with guys smoking outside it is not an ideal family setting. Food was OK.

Always smiling face, friendly service, fresh and very delicious food and great tastes. Very fast service. The star is far above 5 stars and it deserves a degree, so if it were 10 stars, I will give it. But Im giving 5+. I definitely recommend it.

The food was good and the restaurant was clean, the young waitress named chouchou served us well, good first impression and a good lasting one, she paid attention to my requests and was genuinely friendly, i may come back to that place again,one thing that i want to point out is that she needs additional support as i have noticed that she was the only one on stage and that put extra stress on her.Thanks again for the experience i am satisfied.

Nice place overall, polite and super friendly staff even the owner will come to your table to make sure youre happy with everything, best lamb chops Ive had so far. Place is clean, cozy and has decent parking as well. The only thing that Im not impressed with is the white sauce, but the tea outweighs it 😁

Fresh, delicious meals. Kid-friendly restaurant as the owners typically have their children there - and play with my kids. And the kids meals are healthy and delicious at only $7.99! I had the chicken when grilled eggplant sauce - great alternative to rice or any carbs. Tea is always great - but try the Homemade Ayran (yogurt drink) after your meal.

I love this place!!! The food is very filling and the price is good. The people that work there are very friendly. Especially the hostess, she helped us order several times and was very patient, she also speaks a little bit of Arabic.

Overall it was a good experience the menu is bit expensive as always with all Turkish Food Restaurants. I ordered the Adana Wrap and the taste was awesome the best I had around town. The only reason I lowered one star was the service the waitress was very friendly but the the prepared the food was very slow. I guess they make everything fresh. Would I recommend this place and go back yes I would. Enjoy!!

This is probably the only place you dont even really have to worry about if the product theyre serving is fresh,,, and it is fresh. Besides the point of being fresh the food is incredible. With all whats going on right now in the world this is probably the only place you really dont have to worry about if its clean also because it is sparkling clean place where you can comfortably eat from. This is by far the best Kebab house you can get in the area, maybe in the whole North America. There are huge variety of different meat you can get from this wonderful Turkish restaurant. After a few visit I figured out this quality mostly come from the owner who is also a butcher. The foods are incredibly delicious and mind blowing. Every time I visit I feel I am in meat heaven. We ate there once a while ago. The food was delicious! The staff was nice, not overly kind, just ok. The only negative is that its way overpriced for what it is. I think we may have even been overcharged. We never went back because of that.

We like a lot hanging out. Yesterday we found this excellent place which friends recommended to us. We had a beautiful evening there with exceptional dishes and a courteous crew and a great chef. We added this restaurant in our phone list and we will certainly return very soon. We warmly recommend.

This is a serious, high-quality Turkish grill. I dont know all of the reasons behind why it is so good, but my colleagues from Turkey say that the chef here is from the right part of Turkey and knows what he is doing. Honestly, this was one of the best meals of grilled meat I have ever had in the United States, from any national heritage. My colleagues were very satisfied and seemed at home in the middle of a long work trip in the United States.

Terrible place, slowest kitchen in the world. It take them 30 minutes to make a sandwich. And a sandwich it salf was so so.

I have just moved to NJ state from Texas. That placed where I lived in Texas state did not have a place serving Turkish cuisines. I moved here and I walked in the restaurant by chance. Because I am really picky person I wanted to visit the kitchen. They were so welcoming so opened the kitchen door to me. I was so surprised as well as happy to see such a clean and that hygienic restaurant. The food, service and all people working in there so nice. Thank you for providing the great food. Best!!!

Best Kokorec in New Jersey!!!

This is the best restaurant in NJ. It is very clean, unlike some other businesses who claim they are clean. The food is very delicious, and you feast like a Ottoman Sultan. The food is not greasy, and full of rich flavor because the chiefs are talented in their craft. I recommend going to this place. The price is certainly worth it. Where would you find a place that has master level chiefs?

Great Food and Service my go to late night Turkish Spot!

Just because you dont speak their language( dont believe all the 99% reviews are from turkish people) you will and for sure you will wait for your order to be placed more than 20 min,when one of them walks in they serve him immediately and put you on the side like they feed you for free! And they get their food before yours even you were the first one to order! Customer service is suck and the waitress / cashier needs to be more trained. I really dont recommend none turkish spoken to visit that place they will offend you, beside their very expensive menu, yall need to price down. its ridiculous

This place is absolutely horrible I went there twice in a row and twice in the road that gave me the wrong order. and on their menu it states that there is skin there entree comes with rice and salad. But mine didnt come with either and they lied about the wait they said it would take an hour Make sure you order an hour ahead before you order anything from here and make sure you tell them like five times.

I dine in this great restaurant from time to time! This is my favorite spot to have a bite. I visit this spot routinely. The meals are great, the workers are courteous and the rates are affordable. I like eating in this place for a good supper.

Very slow and poor customer service

The food was nice but the personnel took advantage and overcharged us.A soup coated about $20 and the setting is not appropriate for such expense.I am greatly disappointed!

Im a chef myself, and i can easily distinguish excellent food rom bad food. This place in my opinion, the best grill/butcher concept place i have seen. The owner greeted us warmly, and he sent us his complementary appetizers. His kebabs, gyros, and chicken shish kebab is the best! I truly enjoyed every bite of it! I Go for a combination platter, you wont regret it....

Update to my previous post:Service has improved alot since our last visit, food is great as usual. Must try!!If you love meat,this is the place to go..If you are vegetarian..this is the place to go.Service could be lacking at times but I guess this is always the case with new place and they make up for it with the great tasting food.Cook or chef is very friendly...talk to him..tell him how you want things and he will take care of you...he took care of me.I live in Maryland but Ill be visiting them soon...its worth the drive.

I placed an order for pickup over the phone and was given a 20 min time for pickup. Family member went their with kids by her side to pickup and had to wait 1 whole hour. Staff did not even help to make the situation better. Food still was not ready and left without paying. I received a phone call from the restaurant threatening for a payment. I did not have to and it was my first time ordering from there. But out of anger and frustration I went paid their bill left the food so maybbbee they can learn some humility and understand what the service industry is about. And its not about just $$$.

The Adana kebap quality is quite good but they have very delicious beef donner. I strongly recommend.

Excellent beyond expectation. I normally frequent the Arabic places around the area as they greatly outnumber the Turkish spots. The cuisines are different. At the arabic places, the meat is dry. Over here, it is very flavorful. By far the best - Id give them a 6 star if I could.

I dont ever leave reviews for places because i never really cared enough but let me start off by saying that the owners are the sweetest people ever. you can really tell that it is a family run business by how welcoming & kind the staff is. the waitress is super attentive & made for a wonderful dining experience. i especially love how visibly clean the restaurant is, that is a huge quality for me. the food, however, was outstanding. my family & i have vacationed in turkey many times & i can honestly say this place has the closest authentic taste to how turkish food should be than any other place ive been to in nj. i dont even know where to begin. my family & i have nearly ordered everything on the menu since we started coming here & by far, every dish is incredible. especially that doner. it is TO DIE FOR. the food is so fresh, well cooked & properly seasoned. they even serve food for people who are pescatarian and vegetarian, which is amazing since my sister happens to be vegetarian. the food & service is all around a great experience. my family & i really enjoy coming here. so much so, that we have recommend this place to extended family members & friends & theyre in love with this place just as much as we are. if you are honestly looking for a well kept restaurant with friendly & welcoming services & REAL authentic turkish food, i HIGHLY recommending trying out this place. i promise you, you wont regret it!!

This restaurant was recommended as a place to grab some sandwiches by the owner of the place we usually go to because our place was doing renovations. We went hungry and ordered beef kofta sandwiches. We were given and charged for lamb kofta. It was a lot more than I planned on spending. The owners daughter had a bit of a smug attitude when we went to pay. That was not cool. The menu did not have precise English translation and none for the sandwich section. She knows what she did. I guess she is like many others who hate white Americans and think we are rich and wants to take advantage. Well we would have been loyal customers because it was delicious. I took my tip back off the table as I left. She did not deserve it. Besides being a thief, the service was slow. Definitely wont be going back.Edited: A few hours later now, I am home and so angry that I paid for what I didnt order. If I wasnt so far away, Id come back and demand my money. Not for the entire meal, but for the difference in what we were supposed to get and what we got. In reading the other reviews, I see this was not the first time she has done this to someone. If she apologizes here and agrees to refund my money, I will retract this review, but Im not holding my breath. This is a family owned business and the daughter who was apparently running the place is the one who did this. I thought she was beautiful until she did what she did and her insides spread over her face. This will come back to bite you. I guess you need the money that badly. That was supposed to be a special treat for me and my kids. You sent me way over my budget. Hope you reap what you sow.

Sue was amazing. Food was well seasoned, juicy and delicious. I had the Adana kebab with Cous Cous and asked for pickles on the side. Enough to be satiated and take home extra Kebab for later.

Iam young woman traveling out of town for work. I went in to get a drink-gentlemen told me the store was not open. It is Noon and i couldnt help passing the big blinking OPEN sign in front. Authenic turkish dishes and they let you customize orders. Very friendly staff and they have parking, which is a sigh of relief in Paterson. My usual order is the kala pacha soup, it might not cater to all palates. They have assortment of steaks. Did I mention, they are also a butcher and sell meats.
