I have been getting my vehicles smogged there for several years. The individual doing the smog checks (I apologize for not remembering his name), is very personable and just an all around great guy. He does a great job and is very knowledgeable. I highly recommend this place to have your smog checks done.

I didnt go for a smog check but to fix the transmission and I paid 1500 and 6 months after I got the transmission not working again? The owner seems nice but they charge me for something they didnt fix. Dont go there. By the way when I go my car back all fixed I knew the transmission wasnt fixed but the guy told me to take it back if I had the engine light on so I did and he said I didnt pay enough for a better transmission. So dont go waste your time or money at this place.

This was my first visit to Star Auto Repair, for an annual service on my 10-year-old Mini Cooper. Everything about it was great -- service, responsiveness, price, and (at least as far as I can tell so far), work quality. Ill be back.

I went to this establishment for a smog check and my vehicle failed. I was given the printout explaining the reason that it failed and I was simply told that it is an expensive fix and to take it to my mechanic. Taking the advice of the gentlemen, I take it to my mechanic, analyzes my car, sees that the error can also refer to the gas cap, runs a smog check on it, and it passes. I was charged $30 by Star Auto Repair and I was told that if I bring it back once it is fixed to be tested, that I would only be charged $30 instead of $40. Thanks, but no thanks. Crook that tells you that your vehicle didnt pass smog test so that he takes another $20 for a second test. Avoid this crook at all cost. This place should be shut by the BAR for not following regulations. Owner very rude with customers. Other reviews are put by friends of owner so be careful or you will get bamboozled like me.
