Staying in town for vacation & booked her. Very lazy work ethic & very disorganized. Doctors pretend to be versed on conditions but only ask questions to kill the time spent in appointments. Patients are herded in like cattle. Doctor made false statements on records regarding eye condition she never examined for. The lying is getting out of hand here, my father had same thing happen to him where the doctor pretended to examine his eye and never actually did. The patients are mostly illegals so you will not get quality care here.

Started Cataract Surgery procedure in JANUARY...finally got surgery date in APRIL..was unable to put lens implant in as eye was too weak....used steroid drops for 2 weeks, then for another 2 weeks, then another 2weeks. Lens implant surgery scheduled for JUNE 29!! CANCELLED a few days before because THEY DIDNT HAVE THE LENS WTH???? (Where is the one they had at her original surgery) They are back ordered a month. Surgery rescheduled for AUG. 2nd. A 5 days before THAT surgery was cancelled because they needed to do some eye measurements??? The Friday before 7/30 surgery center called to give her surgery instructions (for a surgery that had been cancelled). Told THEM the surgery had been cancelled?????WTH....No inter office communication. An appointment was made for eye measurement, AUG. 4th. Got a reminder call the day before. Showed up to appointment only to be told You dont have an appointment today.....Dr. is not in the office today. We were then told your appointment is in the Palm Springs office?? No mention of that in the reminder phone call or the voice mail. They did do the measurements. Told would be contacted for a surgery date in a couple of days. After a week and no office contact, called the office. Again got nothing but the run around saying someone would call back by 3:00pm that day. HAHA it is now 2 days later and still havent heard from them...Called again more passing back and forth between people. Was then told not scheduling appointments until OCTOBER..... mind you, started this process in JANUARY!!!. Was told she would talk to the Dr. to see if he would work me into the schedule soon. She would call later that day, after she talked to the Dr.....Still have not heard from them. Have left numerous messages that have gone unanswered. This Office SUCKS!!!

Great place. Everyone that works there are very sweet and kind. There is a bit of a wait but worth it. Now there are 2 sections to this place. One upstairs and one downstairs. It just depends what you need done. At least theres a TV to watch.

I just want to say what a great office this is! Aryanna (Dr Samuels assistant) is so professional and efficient. Dr Samuel and his staff are all so kind and helpful especially through this very difficult time for my daughter, I cant thank them enough!

My only problem is that I was not notified of a change date for my appointment on Feb. 17 to March 2. Im sure it was simply something that one office personnel thought someone else had done. Other than that, this office has been amazing. I admire everyone working there. Everybody is extremely courteous, have uplifting positive attitudes, make the patients comfortable, and most importantly, Dr. Stevens is an excellent doctor and obviously cares about his patients.

Theyve added an Online prescription refill option to their website. Thought that would take care of the problem of never calling refills to my pharmacy. But, no. Requested refill TWICE in a 2 week period for my Glaucoma eye drops and still not received at the pharmacy. Had to call the office again to request the refill.Unfortunately, this is the only ophthalmologist office that my insurance company allows me to go to.PREVIOUS REVIEW from 6 months ago: They never respond to refill requests from my pharmacy. I always have to call Acuity Eye Group to have them call it in. Called two days ago and they said they would do it right away, but they did not and today theyre closed for a 3 day holiday.

The Opthomologists are excellents. The office staff is very courteous. The techs/assistants leave much to be desired.Blue hair. tattoos and ignorance does not result in confidence. The last tech did not have any idea of what she was doing or why. She was almost nonverbal.I go here because Dr.Samuel, an excellent opthomologist, is here. Dr. Murphy is also an able and caring doctor.

I had to have surgery for a detached retina. This is the beginning of my scary eyes issues. The staff including my Doctor are sensitive, helpful and professional.The staff always friendly and my surgeon Dr Stephens very kind, and top notch. He came highly reccomended. He is on top of my care and I feel safe. .I would never trust my eyes now to anyone else.I do wish I could reach someone in billing however. I need to get my balance and pay up, but no one ever answers phone or returns my calls at the billing office.

Called in the morning and got an appointment that afternoon. The staff was excellent! They were prompt and courteous. I saw Dr. Stevens and he was excellent. He was thorough and spent ample time explaining my situation to me. I would highly recommend this clinic to everyone based on my experience today.

Waiting room was packed, NO social distancing! After waiting 30 minutes for my appointment while trying to social distance by STANDING up, I walked out. Im 65 and in a high risk category, most the people in there were elderly and in high risk category. VERY irresponsible!

Ill never go here again. I cant see thru the bifocal part of the prescription, the local phone number on the prescription is fake, when you call the main 800 number theyll tell you theres only one ahead of you in the queue, then after waiting on hold for 15 minutes they tell you all agents are busy and insist you leave a message, which they never return. Go somewhere else. Americas Best, Wal-Mart, anywhere, they answer their phones.

Scheduling staff...After prepping for eye surgery. Doing eye drops not eating or drinking anything as dricted.Day before surgery date I get a call message saying to call back. I did 3 times and left message with name and number. There message said they would return my call. NEVER DID.. I called day of surgery at 8 am same voicemail.2: 30 appointment. I show up and they said your time was changed to first appointment.and you did not show.VERY UPSET..This was not an oil change. A SURGERY.someone will pay.

You have good people and competent doctors. I have recommended you to others and will gladly continue to entrust my damaged eyes to your care. Two issues for your attention: you seem understaffed at the desk. They handle that with aplomb but dropped the ball once in my case, failing to cancel my appointment with my scheduled MD, who had moved solely to the San Diego office. No harm done. I got to see Dr. Samuel instead (at my request), and that made me happy. The second issue is more serious. My surgery caused me much pain the first day. The aftercare nurse said that the surgery should have been pleasant, if anything. The anesthesiologist was very casual when I reported my experience before the second surgery, and he remained passive during the second procedure. I was instructed not to move but was given no instruction about how to ask for attention. I stayed still and the surgery was successful, but it too was very painful.

Wait time can be a little long for children. Otherwise great customer service great Doctors.

This has to be one of the best, well-run doctors offices Ive ever been to! Timely with appointments, keeps patients rotating smoothly, plus, really friendly gals in the office! I was taken in right on time, and did not experience a single delay while being pre-treated at 3 stations prior to meeting the doctor, Dr Tom Chang. He was very nice, professional, obviously brilliant in his field, and took time with me so I never felt rushed. I am so glad I found this practice! I feel very lucky 😊

Such a great place, very professional and great staff and Doctors. Had 2 tears in my Retina and they got me in right away and did laser surgery, and I was out the door ...no waiting for hours on end,like the other place I have gone for a long time. Highly recommended.

I’ve been having an ongoing post surgical eye issue and knew something was wrong while out of town. Went to Jules Stein in LA and was told everything looked fine although I knew it wasn’t. Saw Dr. Tautges for an optical exam for new glasses and repeated my issue. He also thought my eye looked OK but had a picture taken to doublecheck. He immediately saw the retinal swelling that was blurring my vision. He got me right in to my retinal doctor, Thomas Chang who started me on the correct medication.Thank you Dr. Tautges for really listening and taking the extra step on the picture. You’re terrific! And always, thanks to Dr. Chang too!

Dr. Chang is caring and articulate as well as displaying a high level of professional skill. He took care of my complex problem with patience, compassion and in simple terms that I could understand. Id seen a number of eye specialists prior to him to try to figure out what was going on. I am so pleased and relieved to finally find someone who could put me at ease, clarify a diagnosis, and put me in the proper direction for treatment. I highly recommend Dr. Chang. Even if youre already in anothers care, a second opinion is always best. In my case this was a 3rd opinion, it has absolutely been the very best path because I did not settle and ended up finding him !

Great Doctors and staff. Amazing equipment. Short wait then moves quickly. The front end girls could be able to jump in and help the sign in girl when she has a problem or is otherwise overwhelmed. But not bad.My only complaint is parking; or shortage of parking

My appointment was for 1pm and my procedure started at 1pm. I was moved from room to room and some procedure in each until I got to the doctor and was done before 2. All were efficient and friendly answering my questions and I was very satisfied with all.

My elderly mother went in on July 19, 2018 to get her routine eye exam. The lady that assisted my mother instructed her to rest her chin on the chin rest. The lady did something after my petite mother rested her chin as instructed, and the entire equipment tumbled over hitting my mother on the head. Now, 24 hours later, I cannot get a hold of anyone there. I suppose we have to go to the emergency room now.

The staff is very courteous and helpful. They do their best to get you thru. Always smiles on their faces. The Dr.s are also great!!! Usually not a long wait.

Regrettably this experience here at the Palm Desert office has not been favorable. My experience is that they are rushed, and are interested in trying to sale eyeglasses to a contact warer. I had an appointment on Monday and on Friday I am still waiting for my trial pair of lenses. They told me there was miss communication from the doctor and did not order them until Thursday after I called as a follow up. They told me to call Friday morning so they could search incoming orders. I called as instructed and they seemed annoyed and told me to call later in the afternoon. Unorganized to say the least. Will not return.

I was given the wrong prescription. When I picked up my new glasses, I was unable to see clearly. With the newly prescribed glasses at this facility my vision was extremely blurry. As a result, I had to go to a different eye doctor to get it corrected; then I had to return the glasses for a new prescription. This caused a great deal of time wasted, multiple trips to the glasses facility, and money lost. I do not recommend this facility at all.

Staff is very friendly. Dr. Stevens always takes the time to thoroughly review your eyes.answers any qs you may have. He’s very gentle and lets you kno what needs to happen and when. Very nice dr and staff. I definitely recvend.

The young lady and only one with glasses at the reception area is rude and really shouldnt be greeting anyone as many coming in are hurting and the first impression of a doctors office should be friendly, courteous and letting one know they are there to console and help. Not this young lady, rude and could care less.

Solena was gentle and blotted my eyes thoroughly so the dilating drips did not run down my face. Staff pleasant.Would have liked more detailed explanation from doctor about prognosis and what to expect of new diagnosis of vitreous detachment. Waiting rooms were filled.

By the far the worst experience. I had to wait 3 month for my daughter see Dr. Grant since he only come once a month to this location. Wait over 3 hour to see the doctor for only he can see my daughter for less this 5 minutes. Didn’t even acknowledge my concerns at all. This doctor and the staff at this location doesn’t care and over books appointments. Never taking daughter here again.

Staff n dr.stevens are nice n friendly clean place but the waiting time after dilating my eyes was long wait but maybe he had emergency parking lot is small good luck finding one but overall im satisfied I’ll keep going there.

Ive had many eye exams in my 70+ years. But NO exam as thorough as the Retina Institute. They take the time to explain, from check in at the front desk to everyone prior to seeing Dr. Samuel. The treatment I received surpassed my expectations. They are watching a sign of macular in my right eye. This gives me control of my life... 2+ years later, and no significant change to the macular.

Ive always, for over 5 yrs., felt treated very SPECIAL @ the RETINA INSTITUTE. Just today 3/14/2018, I was called within 5 min. of signing in! They escorted me from test room to test room so easy. They produced 3 of several Drs. in the same network, & gave me appts.for all diff.findings ! GREAT PLACE TO FIX OR AVOID FUTURE HIC UPS, AS WE AGE!! THANKS AGAIN....!
