They both went above and beyond to help me and showed me around the car and what I may consider servicing in the future. Ed even noticed a loose plastic wire near my trunk that always pops out when I shut the trunk and he grabbed some zipties and fixed it, that was really nice of him. Thank you!

Ive been going to this place for years. As a woman and a skeptic when it comes to auto shops, I dont trust mechanics easily because of some pretty shady situations Ive experienced in the past with other places.This location is nothing but wonderful. Even after I moved further away, I still happily make the drive because its a place I trust.Whenever I come in, Im always greeted with a warm smile, and they always have time for you. My Civic is approaching 7 years and over 100K miles, so Ive become more aware of any changes its experiencing. They actively listen when Im recalling potential car issues, and they always thoroughly check out my concerns. I love that theyre always so patient to explain what is going on with the car, laying out the options and detailing pricing. Took longer than expected for an oil change. Came in at 1:30pm, finished at 2:20pm with no wait in front of me. But service was friendly and did inspection on my vehicle. Technician found a critical ware on the inside of my tires that I dont pay attention which could blow out anytime. Im glad I took it in.

My visit was a walk in. I was gladly accepted and the service was excellent. The prices are extremely fair and everything was explained well. They give helpful insights and suggestions for the future of your vehicle. Definitely coming back here for my all future vehicle work.

I just bought a car and recently moved to the area so I took to google to search for a trustworthy auto repair shop. Found this place and was blown away by the reviews. Took the car in just to have a few things looked at for peace of mind and Jason completely took care of me. Went in for an inspection and got a casual “looking out for a friend” vibe that’s hard to find. Will absolutely be taking my business here moving forward. They were great. Augie was very nice and took care of everything. They kept me informed of the progress with my car and they were not pushy about getting more things done in my car.

First time visit- bad experience. I went there to do WHEEL alignment yesterday. I TOLD THEM I CANNOT leave my car there due to only one car. The manager told me I can go there today at 9:00AM.I went there today on time. But very disappointed. They told me that they were not ready for me and I still had to wait at least one hour again. They are not good at keeping promise and what you can ask.

Worst customer service, took 2 hours for an oil change! Ridiculous! Manager never came to inform me of why service was taking so long! Horrible!

Jason really help me out. Went to a tire place to get new tires but they couldnt put them on because they could not get the lug nut off the spindle. I called 2 Ford dealers and none would assist me. We needed the tires on before we went to Wisconsin. I called Car X and spoke to Jason and he said bring it over. I did and he had it off in a minute. True customer service. Jason was awesome. He has my future business.

I took my car in to get a 3rd party brake colored cover on and Jason took his time and worked on it even though it wasnt the right fit. He also brought solution to this issue by giving me the option to paint my caliber. All the headache and he didnt even charge extra!!! I definitely would go back for other service!

Car X made my Day!! Went in told them my Brake lights stayed on. Bill told me the diagnostic test would be this amount. I left the car. 10 min later Bill Called said my problem was a faulty Stop switch part/ and That it was covered under a Call back warranty. Bill printed out a Recall sheet to take to the Hyundai Dealer and he said that CarX wasnt going tocharge me!!! Made my day!

I was headed on a vacation to the Upper Peninsula Michigan when my shock completely blew out. I had to pull over and get a hotel right in the middle of nowhere late in the night. In the morning, I googled mechanics near by, and luckily, limped my van To Car-x about a quarter mile away from the hotel. I read the reviews, and trusted my gut to trust these guys based on these reviews, cost, and reliability. If your ever skeptical or unsure about car shops as I usually am, worry no more if you come to car-x. I hate being conned out of extra money for things I dont need. Well Vince is the guy to talk to. He gives it to you straight and doesnt bulls#*t. Very professional and really works with you on the price. To me, he was more about the customer and their satisfaction in his work rather than the dollar. Ive never felt so comfortable in a repair shop. So my hats off to this guy Vince. I bought the 3 pack of oil changes in February and my wife brought her car in for the 2nd oil change on Monday 8/10. Today her car was overheating and I checked the coolant and the reservoir was bone dry. I called to see what the deal was with this oil change 3 pack and the manager, Jason, told me it includes tire rotations, fluid checks and everything. I then asked why my coolant would be totally bone dry 5 days after it was inspected. He tried to tell me there must have been a leak with the coolant or they were just “too busy” and didn’t check it, (my wife was 1 of 3 customers that had cars in the shop.) I told him that I paid for a service and if being “too busy” is an acceptable reason to not provide a service I paid for, then they are con artists. Obviously he took offense to that, but like I told him, YOU just gave me that as an excuse. The added cherry on top is that they had no record of my wife coming in (they didn’t even change the mileage sticker... too busy with 2 other customers I suppose,) nothing in their system under our names, phone numbers or anything. They sure as hell checked off oil change 2 on our folder, but apparently, that never happened. He became flustered and asked to call me back. He called back about an hour later and said he found an inspection sheet that said it had low coolant, but this was never communicated to my wife. He requested I bring it back but I declined. Based on all this, it makes me question if they even changed the oil, let alone completed the inspection that was supposed to be included in their oil change package. I have 1 oil change left and will be using that at another CarX location. After that I will NEVER use CarX again for any service, of any kind, ever again. I would suggest to stay FAR AWAY from the Palatine location in particular.

I will always come back to get my car fix at this establishment. They saved me 400 dollars and I’m very grateful. Show how much they care about customer loyalty! I highly recommend this place. Special thanks to Pete for making this experience a pleasurable one!

Car X crew is great! They are honest and cheap compared to Midas. I will never go to Midas. There is a new district manager, Patrick, whose main objective is to make the customer happy, and provide highest value at the lowest cost possible. I highly recommend this car service company.

Interesting experience - i got new tires for my wifes car here. I got a quote from Rick on a Saturday in which he mentioned a $70 rebate from the manufacturer. But when I got the tires, Mike informed me that the tires I got were not actually part of the manufacturers deal. That said, he ate the $70 since Rick told me Id get the deal. So massive kudos to Mike for that. However, the odd part is that as soon as I drove off, the cars indicator for tire pressure showed low pressure. So when I got home, I checke the pressured. All tires are supposed to be 32psi. 1 tire was 32, 1 was 25 and 2 were 40. I have a compressor so no big deal to fix, but still... not what Id expect. 5 stars for honoring Ricks price. 4 stars for tire pressure.

I called this shop today to check whether if my car can drive up on the ramp for alignment service due to its low profile. Luis gave his honest opinion and told me that my car may not be able to drive up the ramp, and recommended me to go to the dealership and explained why. Knowing Im not using his service, he still asked about whats wrong with the car and spent next half an hour on the phone with me diagnosing the pulling problem Ive had with the car for the past year that dealer was never able to fix, and offered me suggestions on what to tell the dealer on where to check for issues. Even though we did not have a transaction, I still wanted to express my gratitude by writing this review, and I do plan to bring my other cars for future service at this shop.

Best, most honest repair shop Ive been to in years. This is a full-service shop that takes great care of their customers. My wife has been bringing her car here for a couple of years and I brought mine in for a transmission fluid leak when it was -10°. The owner dropped me off at home and picked me up when the car was ready. They charged me less than the quoted amount, which was a fair price for replacing worn-out pipes and the fluid filter (these are the pipes that carry trans fluid to/from the radiator for cooling). I cant recommend this place enough!

Giving this place 1 star. I just did my oil change a month ago. And already my vehicle is showing a 5 percent on it. So I paid all that money for them not even changing my oil. Best I just go to the dealer as when I have done it there the oil doesnt go low until it is time to change it. Will never go there for my oil change again.

Had an electrical issue that was draining my battery. The mechanic was very honest about everything they were doing and found where the shortage was and fixed it. Price was reasonable for the peace of mind they have given me. Definitely recommend this Car X location. He also did not try to sell me services, instead he recommended to keep an eye on my alternator since its power is declining. Great customer service and very knowledgeable staff.

I’ve come here again for fire tire work. Stay away from NTB a cross the street, they will ripped you off, of telling you that the only way is to buy new tires. My mom and i stopped in here on the day my grandfather pasted away. My mom got a flat tire heading home. The lug nuts did not match and 2 needed to be stripped. Pete was the first person we saw when we walked in and when he told us it may take some time to see what the tire really needed. My mom got overwhelmed at the thought of another problem because her father just passed. Pete was patient and kind and took the car from our hands and said no worries give me an hour I’ll take care of it. Just like nothing he took all the possible stress we could have imagined and Pete took care of us as if we were family. Had been coming here for years, but the new ownership now is awful. Made an appointment for a simple 30 minute inspection, and when I arrived I was told by the manger that he “didn’t like the appointment system” and quoted me a 4 hour wait. I explained I drove in all the way from the city because of the great service I’d always gotten here, to which he made a snide comment about the previous owner. He said he’d see what he could do about getting me in (aka honoring the appointment I had made for a quick inspection- which should not have been a “favor” to me) and 3 hours later I checked back in and he told me he was just about to get to my car. I told him forget about it, if I can’t trust you for something so simple, why would I ever have faith in you to do anything else? Pete is a smug condescending corporate cog that doesn’t care about customer service. For any one that was used to the old car x, this isn’t it!

I brought in a new car which was a replacement for another car that had been totaled in a car accident. I was referred to Luis by the Discount tire from around the corner for a replacement wheel stud. I showed up late in the day with no hope of getting in that day but Luis said I will help you and he did. I was also having electrical issues which Jamison quickly diagnosed as a bad ground, and they repaired that.Over the next week, Luis, Jamison, and the crew replaced my brake pads all around. They replaced my Coils with Heavy Duty coils that I needed for my work, they added a 2nd battery and reconnected the wiring for my hitch box accessory. These guys were professional, courteous, fair, and did a fantastic job at a fair price. I recommend Luis and his crew to anyone needing Auto repairs. Youll be treated fairly. Thanks!

These guys are very friendly and professional. They clearly explained the issues and the work that needed to be done. It took longer than expected due to some rusted bolts, and they wanted to be careful not to break them. They provided a free rental car until they were finished. They also fixed a minor unrelated issue as well as gave me an oil change free of charge. I highly recommend this place.

I have a 2001 pontiac bonneville that I couldn’t get to pass emissions I brought it here and they got me to pass! Pete the manager was extremely helpful as I had to bring the car in several times and they were more than fair with the pricing! I had brought it to other shops and none could get me to pass emissions! I was extremely happy with the service they provided and I will be returning whenever my car needs more work!

Horrible experience. I bought new tires and shocks but within 2 weeks the tires started going flat. Pete, the manager said some part had corroded and two hours later he said it was fixed. One week later the tires are going flat again. He promises me it won’t happen again and charges me an additional $42 to replace some parts-another 2 hours wasted. Not 3 days later the check TPMS light is on. I’m not going back. Way too much time and money. I’m at another CarX hoping they get it right. Corporate will be hearing from me.The district manager reached out to me and listened to my issues. He has provided two free oil changes in an attempt to make things right. Therefore I have updated my review to 3 stars pending the outcome of those oil changes! I appreciate their responsibility and efforts to make things right - this goes a long way in my book.
