Make sure you tell them to toast the bagel! It’s my first time here and I didn’t know I have to tell the crew to help toast my bagel. So I went back and asked and the entire crew unanimously said you had to make sure you told them to toast.Review of my un-toasted bagel. Pretty hard (which I think will be perfect if toasted). I got plain / chief color.
BEST BAGEL IVE EVER HAD! Hands down. Absolutely amazing! You must go! One day at work I smelled something so delicious and I asked what it was. Turns out... Somebody had brought Meshuggah Bagels into work for their breakfast. I had to go and eat there. 100% worth it. They have many bagel varieties. The best part, the cream cheese selections. So many amazing options to choose from. I ordered the onion bagel with the garlic and herb cream cheese.
Found Meshuggah by accident so glad that I did. Best New York style bagels that I have had in a very long time. I cant wait to go back.
The curbside pickup and bagels are great! Recently charged a 1.50 convenience fee which did not show on order. Not happy about this surprise.
Bagels are very good, cream cheeses are amazing! Not sure if they are Covidaphobic but they are still closed to dine-in.
Quite possibly our favorite bagel spot in KC. We moved from the KU medical area, where the other location is, and were stoked to come to find out they had another location down here! The smoked salmon and the fresh bagels always make my entire family happy!
Fantastic high quality bagels with unique flavors of cream cheese as well.
The best New York style bagels in all of Kansas City! So thankful theyve expanded into central Johnson County!
I love this place! I really do. I come here maybe once a week as a treat to myself. But lately the service is awful. It makes me sad because:1. I really love to support small family owned businesses.2. I come here to reward myself for having a good week it is always a reward unfortunately, it is being ruined by the rude service.Lately, someone always has an attitude or is too bothered to help me with making my order right. Please don’t get me wrong I love the bagels! And they are THE. BEST. IN. KC! (Being a Jersey girl I know a thing or two about bagels) but if your expect cheerful people and Midwestern hospitality. You will not find it here.I have been coming here for years and unfortunately the service had gotten worse each time.Enough for me to write this long review.
Ok possibly the best bagels in KC however the most arrogant and rude staff. We go there despite their less than hospitable attitudes towards their clients…because the bagels are amazing. However just be aware to not expect a pleasant experience until you get your bagel
Great fresh bagels.had a Lox with cream cheese.the best!!!
Its like your in New York. Boiled not steamed. Awsome.
Okay bagels. Good schmear. Pretty much the same as Panera or Einstein Bros Bagels but keep in mind a Panera Bagel and schmear is 2.69$ and its 4.66$ here. Definitely NOT as good as NY bagels from Manhattan so nothing to write home about.
Meshuggah makes the best and most authentic bagel in KC. They boil and then bake the bagels which is a demanding two step process. Most bagels are steam baked in one process.
True New Yirk bagel experience. Lox and bagels cant be topped on the area.
Love this wonderful Jewish bagels located in Overland Park Kansas. Grew up in NY so its exciting to find this establishment in the midwest. Bagels always fresh and warm. Very partial to their cream cheese and smoked lox on an everything bagel. They also offer a variety of spreads.
Sesame bagel with garlic & herb cream cheese - it was delicious! They load on the cream cheese thick. And on fridays they also sell challah rolls on a first come first serve basis.
I am from Long Island which I believe gives me the credentials to say that these are good bagels. I would go as far as to say the best in the Kansas City area. They are amazing and only made better with the addiction of their homemade schmears! The pastrami smoked salmon with tomatoes and capers is heavenly and should not be skipped. Go here!
Im not a New Yorker but I am from the east coast giving me middle-of-the-road bagel credentials. Nonetheless, these are the best bagels you can get in this time zone. Meshuggahs is a part of my weekly routine, highly recommend the pumpernickel with nova lox.
I don’t mind tipping for fair/good service, I don’t like convenience fees, I don’t like employees that aren’t happy to serve people. The Bagels are good. The Service Fair.
Not as good as NYC BUT FRESH
Always fresh, fast service, big smiles. Please support it!
Very nice.Just had salty salmon, cream cheese, tomatoes and capers.I’ll be back.
The bagels are flavorful, delicious and worth the drive even though you cant dine in right now. The staff are so nice and service was speedy.
Best NYC style over found in KC so far!
We were looking for some place to grab a quick bite before a meeting, this happened to be close by and was just opening. We werent sure what to expect and were very pleasantly surprised. It is a small, well lit, modern cheery place with great coffee, a wide variety of fresh begals and toppings. We ordered and sat at a small table near the door and we certainly came at the right time - literally before the rush. The place quickly filled with a continuous long line of people that didnt let up; mostly taking their orders to go. The staff were efficient yet always friendly and patrons were patient and amiable to meet the persons in line next to them while waiting their turn. Definitely worth the wait.We enjoyed our delicious coffee and bagels but didnt linger so others could use the space. If you love bagels, you will really enjoy this place.
Great bagels.
Great bagels. Recently moved back to KC and was suggested by in-laws. Had both salt and everything bagel. Both extremely delicious! Highly recommend!
I came to town from Montreal and tracked this place down to try the bagels since they looked so good. I was not disappointed. The bagels are chewy and flavorful. The schmear selection is great. Pricing and quality is great. The atmosphere is very cozy
We finally got the privilege to try this place out. It was so good... Warm fresh bagels with delicious lox and all the trimmings... Fresh hot coffee. Perfect Sunday morning breakfast. We also took a half dozen home to family and even the next morning the bagels were still delicious, not too hard or tough... The 2 guys working were not overly enthusiastic, but were courteous and quick in their service. Cant wait to go back!
OK, but I was disappointed after the reviews had me expecting a NY/NJ caliber bagel. At 11am, it appeared that they were baked far too long ago.
Fresh bagels, quick service
Best bagels in town!
The best bagels in South OP! Texture, taste and quality like a NY bagel! Fast and friendly service with a smile. Highly recommend!
Best bagels in Overland Park that I have had.
Rated # 1 for Bagels in KANSAS, had to take home a dozen! 🥯🥯🥯
Great bagels, and great service. We ordered two bagels and they accidentally forgot the Lox on one of our bagels, but when we went back they let us keep the wrong one and offered to replace the whole order instead of just the one.
Best bagels I have had in the Midwest.
Good food, but pricey and over the top Covid restrictions.
They put the toppings on both sides of you preorder. Very accommodating. Thank you
Best bagels in KC! Try the smoked salmon sandwich with all the toppings and the garlic & rosemary schmear.
Best bagels in Kansas city.
Really good bagels, bit inconsistent on bake time. Perfect crisp on some but sometimes they need longer time in oven. But most people in KC order bagels sliced and toasted, so wont make a big deal. It gets very crowded between people standing in line ordering for take out, those wanting to sit at limited seating. They need more help. A little high priced.
Truly bagels made the original way! Always delicious! So happy there is a location in Overland Park. Better parking! Friendly staff ! Yum yum!
Best bagels I have had! You have to try them.
Delicious bagels, delicious spreads (schmears, as they call them), and decent prices!
My husband was so excited to buy these bagels. Weve not had any authentic Jewish bagels since before we moved from home (Michigan) 14 years ago. They were so fresh and very tasty.
This is neither Jewish or Kosher. I went there for a good Rye or Pumpernickle. I asked what kind of dough they used for the RYE? None of the employees including the baker knew the answer, and said white dough and salt . RYE is made with RYE dough/kernals and caraway seeds. A few caraway seeds tossed on wheat or white bread makes Not a RYE. RYE is a healthier, blood pressure helping bread.
Just went in today and I gotta say the bagels are fantastic and the employees are friendly and helpful. I can not recommend this bakery enough
We ordered 2 bagels online. We got a text saying they will be ready in 25 minutes. We came in 30 minutes and they did not have our order. They could not give us an estimate on when our order would be ready and did not offer to refund our order. Best bagels in town but disappointing experience.
Favorite bagel place in the state! Great coffee and amazing food! Service is always great and this place is never empty because of that! I go out of my way to get bagels from this place whenever possible
The bagels and salmon was everything that I was looking for however I was disappointed that they didnt offer a side salad to compliment the food. instead it was just chips. And if you like to put Pepper or anything else on your food bring your own because they dont provide any condiments! Oh and if you like to have light cream cheese on your bagel they dont offer it...
Cool name. Hole in the wall place. Definitely worth a visit if you have not already been there and you are a bagel lover.
All I had was a plan bagel with plain cream cheese... And it was amazing! Delicious food and very friendly customer service.
I guess I am not a huge bagel fan. I thought I was. Came here for lunch (FYI they are closed on Mondays) and had an everything bagel with salmon spread. it was good, but not the best bagel I ever had. it was super salty.I did like the interior - farmhouse style. although it didnt seem like it would be in a strip mall setting. anyway, the staff was friendly and maybe Ill stop by later to just have a plain old bagel.
Meshuggah hands down makes the best bagels in Kansas city. They dont have the biggest selection of flavors, but everything that Ive tried (plain, everything, garlic, cinnamon raisin, wheat) has been cooked perfectly. The bagels have a great crust and a soft chewy center (of course everything tastes great right out of the oven). The cream cheese is nice and light too, plain, garlic and chive and rosemary garlic are the only ones Ive tried. As far as sandwiches though... Unless you like salmon youre going to be disappointed.. The lox is good, I like the salty lox. But cmon man... 25¢ each for onions, capers, and tomatoes? Thats kinda silly when the sandwiches already cost 7.50-8.50.
Horrible! They dropped my bagel on the floor and then tried to serve it to me. When I objected to their unsanitary behavior, they lied and said that they didnt drop it. Their security camera should prove otherwise. No apology, just a lot of negative attitude. Another patron said that there was a long hair in their cookie.Obviously, they need a health department inspection!! Take your business elsewhere!
These are the best bagels in KC! The staff are always very friendly and nice. Their selection is large, and everything is made fresh. Would definitely recommend for a great breakfast or brunch.
Great service. Best bagels in KC.
The best bagels I have had in a long while. Authentic in taste texture and appearance. Shop was difficult to find but well worth it
Bagels hard to bite into or tear apart (careful with your teeth). Staff was polite and cream cheese good, but not a fan of rock hard bagels.
Best bagels Ive had since leaving NY 48 years ago.
Never knew this place existed until my friend took me here. The bagels are delicious. We got a salted bagel, plain, and garlic. I had the garlic and found it very enjoyable. Inside is very nice, clean and staff was eager to help.
Okay, bagels were burnt and or stale. Overpriced for day old tasting bagels.
Bagels and pizza are the only things I miss about NYC.I DONT MISS BAGELS ANYMORE
Good bagels. These are legit bagels like you might get in NY, etc. By far the best youll find in KC. If you dont like smoked fish, you may not be thrilled with the variety of toppings. I respect their adherence to tradition there, but I wouldnt say no to some turkey or pastrami either.
Overrated overpriced. Old bagel.. Bunch of hipsters that could care less about service and product quality
They have lots of bagels. The salmon bagel seemed a little odd but was great. Id have it again.
Meh, I got the rosemary garlic. The bagel was tough and roughly the same quality as a grocery store bagel. Maybe I’m just not a bagel person, but the schmear was ice cold, the bagel wasn’t warm at all resulting in a tough and “I’m hungover so I don’t want to cook anything” kind of meal... but not in a good way. I didn’t think it measured up to the popular chain bagels, I don’t get the hype. Maybe we just got unlucky though
Great food and love the menu. This is a comfortable and cozy spot that has such a pleasing decor. The place is clean too.
This place was great! Had a garlic bagel with salmon cream cheese and capers. Good fresh bagel and the perfect savory taste. Paired it with a tasty dark roast coffee. My kids had raisin bagel with cinnamon sugar schmear, both ate well! Not as many options as more commercial bagel shops, but they definitely focus on doing thier stuff well. Very high quality! I will definitely be back!
Their bagels are SO good. Im so glad to see they have a vegan shmear now too!
Coming from someone who grew up in NYC, these are the best bagels Ive had since Ive left NY. Reminds me of home!!!
Best bagels Ive ever had. This place has an assortment of sweet and savory schmears along with Salmon cream cheese, lox, capers, onions and tomatoes to add to your bagel. Fantastic fresh brewed coffee and amazing cold brew. Very quiet environment but it can be busy! Get in early enough to get a Bialy bagel, they go quick but they are incredible
Finally made it to Meshuggah after an early doctors appointment - I was not disappointed. Opted for a sesame bagel with the rosemary & garlic schmear. It was so good - the flavor of the schmear was amazing and there was plenty of it and the bagel was perfect with a great crunch-to-fluff ratio. Trying to convince myself that one is enough for today and I dont need to snag a few more for lunch - but Ill be back soon!
Best bagel shop in Overland Park. A must try if you in or are visiting the area. My wife and I love this place.
Slightly pricey, but amazing quality bagels. also a kosher establishment. I would highly recommend anyone to try this place atleast once!
Salty lox just like home (New York) with a generous schmear of cream cheese on a classic bagel. What more to make it perfect? Maybe a little quicker service. Will definitely go again.
Just as good as the original location.
A good bagel. Way over priced for the Nova lox plater for 1.5 slices Toasting my own bagel with one toaster was a bit for the prices. Also some of counter staff needs customer service training. Will give it another shot as. The Caraway seed bagel was good.
Bagels are phenomenal. Seriously. Amazing.I am probably spoiled, but you have to toast your own bagels, which, due to the setup, feels a bit awkward, but that is honestly the only issue I have.**UPDATE** They have a toaster now and it is SO much faster and the bagels are still SO good.Go. Youre welcome.
Best bagels in town. Best bagels weve had since being in Canada! Awesome staff. Great charm in building
Bagels were delicious. My kids definitely enjoyed it. I highly recommend trying the salmon shmear. Yum.
WoW! NY bagels in KC is awesome. This place is so great! The bagels are great, service is even better, and the decorations make you feel great and comfy.5 stars for sure!
Live on the west coast, Always stop here for the best bagels anywhere! Staff is excellent!
Best bagels ever, even better than the ones I had in Germany where bread is a specialty.
Best bagels and they offer a variety of shmears which are delicious! Thank you for the special attention to my daughter ❤️
