Went there with my girlfriend on a Saturday and it was fantastic. We got some hot dogs from the attached hot dog restaurant and some shakes and floats. The hot dogs were really, really good and the Nutella milkshake they had for that day was amazing. The people behind the counter were really nice, too. Highly recommend. Parking is in the back or along the street. They have some limited seating, but enough for a date.
Your friendly neighborhood ice cream shop. If you live in College Park, Winter Park, or by Lake Highland, this is a great place to ride tour bike to. Two scoops in a waffle cone for about $5. Had the Mexican hot chocolate ice cream, which has a bit of heat to it… amazing!Aside from your standard sundaes and shakes, they also sell hot dogs. Will definitely be back to try one!
I was in the mood for ice cream so I googled ice cream near me and came across this gem. The lady that works there is so sweet and made sure we got exactly what we wanted. But let’s talk about this Apple Pie sundae I don’t know if it was the apple slices on top or the pie crust crumbles. I am definitely glad we stumbled upon this place and can’t wait to go try something different 😍😍😍
Great good and Icecream, great atmosphere. I will be back.
We were quite disappointed. We heard amazing things about this place, paired with the amazing reviews we saw. We were very excited to go. The milk shakes and the food were amazing.... until we found a, now dead, baby lizard at the bottom of our cup. (Please see picture. I circled him because he almost blended in...) When we went up to show the lady, she just stared at us wide eyed, say she didnt know how this happened, but what else do you expect when the door is left open and the ice cream is uncover....Very very disappointed because we thought it was going to be a good spot. Was not very thrilled at all.
Tonight, my friend, my daughter, and I went to get ice cream. We were greeted by an amazing young man who was super helpful, kind, and even helped give suggestions to what sundae to get. We sat down to enjoy our ice cream when a bald man (I’m not sure if he’s the owner or the manager) came out to the front and started to talk down on the employee about how much ice cream was given to us. Loud enough to where we could hear and disrupt our positive experience. It was very uncomfortable to watch. The chipper attitude of our server was gone after this confrontation. I’m super conflicted on going back because the ice cream was great, the customer service was amazing, but it physically pained us to watch how the employees were treated here.
Cute spot with a hot dog spot attached (Im serious). Good ice cream, but not the best Ive had in town. I did enjoy the Cherry Oblivion and Key Lime Pie flavors.
Second time here in last couple years. Think theyre a little Pricier than bigger chains but thats too be expected especially in the area. Happy to see kids 2 scoop cups on the menue for $3. My shake was around $7 and hubby had a Sunday. All were delicious. Found another menue on the counter as we were leaving- Adult milkshakes- think Ill try one of those next time.
Nice spot to go for an ice cream. They have a good variety of flavors- basics and a couple special flavors nothing too overwhelming
The ice cream is great -- need to return for a boozy shake sometime -- but I actually find myself here most often for the hot dogs and tots at The Dog House! Totally delicious options with all kinds of toppings.
The Nutella milkshake was amazing! It tasted so good. I would get it over and over.
Absolutely delicious, and a great idea of a soda fountain restaurant. Mixing everything modern about todays standalone restaurants (the unique design, different experience, new taste, friendly staff full of personality, fresh ingredients) with the classic decades-old concept of selling tasty soda straight from a fountain over a marble counter is brilliant. Soda and sweets go hand in hand, and this place knows full well that and more.
Ice cream was top shelf, owner super friendly and helpful. Vegan option was chocolate/peanut butter. Very creamy and rich. 100% recommend!
2 scoop ice cream good and fairly priced. Root beer float over priced, way more soda then ice cream
The Ice cream was delicious, however the owner/manager chewing out his young staff kept it from being a 5 star experience.
Lisa and Frank were both very kind and helpful in the midst of a very busy shift! The milkshakes were phenomenal and we will definitely be back because of how friendly the staff was and how amazing the milkshake was!
Nice, small, novel ice cream shop. I got the Godfather and recommend sharing it.
Love the place. Like an old school soda fountain. Great service and amazing hot dogs and delicious ice creams and shakes!!
Love this ice cream shop! Friendly owners/operators and the best milkshakes in Orlando!
They have vegan ice cream and it was great! this place has a lot of charm and is super quiet and cozy. loved being here.
Very cute location. Ate at the hot dog restaurant located inside this restaurant.
So cute and super yummy!!
Amazing place, the hot dogs and ice creams were really good and the service better!
Frank, Lisa, and the drinks were amazing! I’ll definitely be back!
Cute place but I wish they had more non dairy options as I am lactose intolerant.
We used to enjoy this ice cream shop. We took our kids to it the other night after a long time away due to the pandemic. To our disappointment the workers were not wearing masks. Not a mask in sight. We will not be returning. Unfortunately it shows the true colors of how this shop feels about the health and safety of their patrons.
I tried their vegan ice cream and it was delicious!! Thank you
Its a cool place. Black List items are less expensive than several regular menu items, taste good, but dont expect much effect. Both times Ive been, same thing. Menu is good overall though... Id rather have some of the straight stuff but they cant mix bc of policy. Kind of understandable since not a full fledged bar or restaurant. Cool little spot to break it up.
Went to grab a small ice cream for my daughter and I, the man made my daughters ice cream on a waffle cone just as she wanted. I watched him just it it right on top, okay I’m thinking hopefully that doesn’t fall off. I hand it to my daughter and two seconds later the scoop of ice cream falls on the floor. I immediately apologize and ask if he doesn’t mind getting her another scoop but I’m a bowl this time, he doesn’t acknowledge me and does it for us. Okay I think, no personality whatever. I clean up the ice cream that fell, go to check out and he try’s to charge me for the ice cream that fell on the floor two seconds after he gave it to me! I said absolutely not. He went back and forth with me standing there just staring at me and finally after like 3 minutes of me telling him I’m not paying for ice cream that fell on he floor he finally took it off. I have never been treated this way and I go there often, I’ve never seen this new guy either. Completely disappointed and not sure if I’ll ever go back. Left a bad taste in my mouth. Ice creams good though
Awesome little date spot! Cute and a cool place to take the kids. Awesome customer service and super yummy ice cream!
Truly a 5 star place. I had their zoo Ice cream thing and it was massive and delicious. It came with like 5 scoops of ice cream and a bunch of toppings. A cute place to go and have some ice cream
Awesome little place with great ice cream. I love the old school feel, a wonderful place for a date. Have a float or a coffee with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream inside. My new favorite place in Orlando. Definitely going to try a hot dog next time I come in.
The last few times I’ve gone, I’ve been disappointed. I always get the same thing, a Mint Chocolate Chip milkshake... Sadly the last three times I’ve gone, my shakes have been very runny and tasted more like milk than the actual mint ice cream. For the prices they charge, you should get a better quality shake. Nice & thick, NOT runny! 😕
Love the retro vibe! Delicious ice cream.
Delicious! Ordered the brownie sundae and devoured too fast for a picture. Such a cute place- inside and out!
These guys carry Ice Cream Club brand ice cream which is THE BEST in Florida!!! Try the Smurf flavor....you can thank me later
Amazing spot clean and fast worth the time and money....
Love this place but the owner is rude to his customers
First, the portions are huge. My son got an $8 sundae and honestly it could have been shared by three people. The ice cream is delicious, creamy, and looks like the ice cream thats churned right before you eat it (we make our own when Im feeling industrious) they have many flavors, not as many as--say Kellys Homemade ice cream, but we werent at all let down by the offerings. They have kid sized cones and cups as well which are also beyond generous. They have spiked sundaes, which combine spirits with ice cream, I cant wait to dump the kids somewhere to try this in peace and quiet.Well definitely be back.
Exploring college park this afternoon and came across this gem. Had the Guinness float. Wonderful. The owners son was at the counter and made every one feel welcomed.
I had The Grease it is a strawberry milkshake with with red licorice and strawberries. They were out of strawberries so he added cherrys still good though. The milkshake hits the spot. I highly recommend!!
It was my first time here. The female that took care of me was a delight. Very friendly and great customer service. Her positive and energetic energy rubbed off on me and that was what I needed. She told me it was only her second day and I honestly would’ve thought she had been there longer than that because she was confident in everything I saw her so and say. I think her name is Jennifer. Thank you Jennifer! Hope I got her name right. As far as the guy that was also there he seemed annoyed. He was watching soccer ⚽️ and I’m guessing I was interrupting his game. The female asked him a question about the register when she was trying to cash me out and his attitude was uncalled for. He acted as if she was a bother. Apparently he was the manager. His customer service sucks. Not a very nice guy
This place is amazing the shakes are delicious! The banana split was well made. I love that he made the items individually so that each one was perfect. Fresh delicious ingredients. So impressed!
Ice cream was fantastic, as well as customer service. However masks were not worn properly
We were the only people in here today and the man working was clearly high, had his AirPods in and didn’t get our order right after three times of telling him. We ordered two hot dogs and four ice cream cones but he couldnt manage it. My father in law never saw his food and then the line got long. The guy working just couldn’t figure out this “complicated” order. We have been here at night for ice cream several times and it was great. Obviously they need better daytime help.
Tasty ice cream ^_^ a cute spot for dates
I also loved the retro vibe of this place and had great assistance in decision making... truly appreciated the support and service. 😊
Their food is amazing. Low prices for fairly big amounts. The place is a bit small. Service was excellent.
Bananas Foster Milkshake 🤩
Ice cream was average and a bit runny . I ordered a malt and it didn’t have malt flavor at all (watched him put it in). Canned cream soda was good. Service was alright, they weren’t rude but I felt like I was inconveniencing them.
Love it, people are nice. Looks like a family owned business. Very perfessional
Had a great chocolate malted milkshake during a lunch break; so good! A bit pricey, but worth it for a quality product, helpful service, and an atmosphere that was exactly what I needed. Nothing sorts out depression like a nice walk, a surprise discovery, and a great malted. I will be back!
The food here is delicious! Our server Patty was super friendly and helpful. Doghouse next door has scrumptious tater tots!
Worked here once upon a time when it was owned by the previous owner (honestly Im not sure how many times it has changed hands since the past years) Theyre still using the same equipment, have a super amazing female on staff but have the rudest management team running the store now. Really a shame to see what this place has become. As for the girl who started about a month ago YOU GOT THIS GIRL! This review in no way is to reflect on her as she is a genuinely amazing person.P.S. you ever seen the movie Get out? basically thats how you should handle eating here.
Great place that definitely calls back to the mom and pop ice cream shops of yesteryear. Its a great small business and an important addition to the College Park neighborhood. The milk shakes are a great choice. Would love it if they brought back the Guinness float...its been over a year since it was available.
The location is really cute. It kinda gives a retro vibe, similar to the 60s. The ice cream was good, but I dont think it was worth the $8+ for the peanut butter sundae. The coffee ice cream was mixed with chocolate chips and peanut-butter cups (delicious combination) however, it tasted more like chocolate ice cream instead of coffee ice cream. We went on a Sunday evening and the staff there (2 guys) seemed very eager to get off their shift. They were both playing on their phones when we walked in, and barely tried to converse with us. Overall, Id like to come back to give this place a second chance.
I’m not vegan but their vegan dogs were delicious!
Went during a non busy time during the week. The prices are a bit much but the menu is pretty unique. Ice cream was delicious BUT the guy working never smiled once, never greeted us or said bye and basically acted like he was annoyed we were there. I felt so uncomfortable being there. I want to try a boozy float drink but I really never want to go back and support such a rude disrespectful place. So I probably wont.
We went there yesterday for a Quarantine Treat! The interior is really cute but the customer service is lacking!! The employee who assisted us had a sour attitude. Idk if she was just having a bad day but she really left a bad taste in my mouth. We got an Apple Pie sundae and a Brownie sundae they we both delicious but I doubt we will be coming back. I really wanted to purchase a few hotdogs as well but the way the female employee keep asking “Anything else?” was so off-putting.
Okay...not a whole lot to choose from
What a great throwback business in a nice town. Loved the set up and ice cream flavors. Great on a weekend afternoon. Well definitely be back!
I love this little ice creme shop and I am sure you are wondering why I only gave it three stars, right? Well, we have been going for the last 5 weeks or so as a date night. The first time we went everything was perfect, we fell in love with the place and went back the next week. They were put of two of the main ingredients you use for a hot fudge Sunday. So we blew it off and went the next week, this time out of three ingredients needed for the hot fudge Sunday including ice creme.. UGH! We really like this place a lot. So we go the following week sorry to report out of things once again. This time we left and didnt get anything. Went over this last weekend on a Saturday thinking maybe they would have everything this time. Nope, had one brownie left. All though we did get something this time I am not sure about going back. Its only about 20 minutes from our home but how do you have an ice creme shop that is ALWAYS out of main ingredients. Im bummed as I like it there a lot but we want a place we can get what we want and not have to wonder what they are out of. The staff is awesome, the vibe is amazing and location is perfect. Just need to stock up.
Good floats, better ice cream cones. Trendy spot with traditional ice cream fare. affordable and open till 10 :)
The soda fountain has some of the best ice cream in the area. You can also spice up your milkshake with a little alcohol.
Always great service, tots, and ice cream, but Im turned off by them asking for tips. The prices are already at the highest acceptable levels, and the expectation of 18% extra (for counter service!) is not only a turn off, but it prices Soda Fountain outside my acceptable range for a quick treat with kids.
Located in College Park, a nice place to grab dessert after dinner or ice ice on a hot day. Great selection of ice creams and different delightful dessert combinations. The milkshakes and malts are deifinitel worth a try. The staff has always been friendly when visiting, though I could not say the same for the hot dog restaurant located next door. Would recommend to those looking for a local place for a treat.
Had an amazing ice cream sundae with Spumoni ice cream. The guy who works there is super nice and I can’t wait to go back and get a “blacklist” milkshake
Omg! The milkshakes are too die for! My wife ordered a banana split and is in love! You can tell a lot of love and effort goes into the ice cream here. Dont hesitate solve your cravings here you wont be sad . I will definitely be back
This place is terrific and owners make you feel at home. Great selection and offerings. Blacklist is a must if you are over 21
Opened by the owners of College Park’s Infusion Tea in 2013, The Soda Fountain models itself on a 1950s-style neighborhood ice cream shop with surprisingly old-fashioned treats: traditional New York egg creams, soda floats, hot fudge sundaes and malted milk shakes (malts!). Ice cream and soda flavorings are made locally, there’s an ice cream cart available for party rental, and if that’s not enough sugar, they also sell Sky Candy cotton candy.
Absolutely delicious food and ice cream! Such a cute little place, customer service was great. Definitely will be back!
Fantastic service and the best Strawberry Ice cream I have ever had.
The dogs at the Dog House are awesome! They have tons of creative menu items or you can get something completely customized. They always serve a generous amount of tots, too!
I really love this spot. All the ice cream texture and flavors are high quality. Is not expensive and the attendant are very attentive and professional. Really love the experience I will come back!!.
Fairly inexpensive, quality ice cream and shakes. I highly recommend the Chunky Monkey shake. I cant wait to go back and get it!
I used to enjoy this place - but it seems like new ownership. The quality of the ice cream is down and the sugar cone I got was stale and smelled/tasted like rancid cooking oil. A tiny scoop of ice cream was $3
Whoever the bald man, one of the managers I believe, working behind the counter was one of the rudest individuals ever. Pushy argumentative with the customers. However the African American woman working there was fantastic. Very kind.
Great place for Ice Cream!
