Blackbird Vintage Music is my kind of music store: the inventory is wildly eclectic and constantly changing, the atmosphere is low-key, and its owned and staffed by real guitar guys who know their stuff. In my experience (I bought a 76 Les Paul Custom for my collection from them recently) they are very fair when it comes to price. and easy to deal with. That guitar incidentally, has become my daily go to guitar. Absolutely love it. I think the place is well worth a visit for anyone and everyone interested in vintage guitars.

My first transaction with this shop. I just sold 4 vintage guitars to them and bought a beautiful Gibson ES-335 from them. Everything was handled professionally by the very courteous shop owner. I received a fair price for the guitars I sold, and paid a very reasonable price for a very nice Gibson model.No big box store sales pressure here, owner and staff were easy to talk to...and very knowledgeable about vintage guitars. I should know, I’ve bought, played, and sold many guitars for over 50 years, I will return to this shop!

Took a chance visit to this store whilst on vacation and bought a fine 1969 Gibson EB3 bass at a very good price. Eric is very knowledgeable on vintage instruments and helped me massively with info on dating the bass. Pleasure to visit the store which has a fantastic inventory of vintage gear. Best store Ive visited in the Florida area by a country mile. The Gibby is now in its new home. Thanks again Eric.

Fantastic Place. You can go and try the guitars all you want. Good prices and great vintage guitars and also some used newer ones all in great conditions. Also you can check amps and pedals that are also available. Next time Im back to Orlando will definitively go back and see if there is another great guitar. Very happy with the Les Paul I got there. And the owner is a great guy, very helpful.

My most recent purchase from Blackbird was a 1970 Martin D-28, the guitar Ive always wanted, but could never pull the trigger on the big dollar purchase. Since Ive traded with Eric for some time, I felt comfortable with his recommendation. I was in no hurry so I asked him to keep an eye out for this guitar so when one came in, he called me right away. It was just what Ive always wanted. Gently used and the sound! Wow! Its amazing what 49 years will do for a quality guitar. Eric has his eye out for another special guitar for my collection. If youre patient and it can be found, hell find it for you and make you a great deal to boot!

Usually I dont talk bad about business partners but this time I feel like I have to, sorry about that!I spend over 1,000$ at this store and still dont even know the name of the person I communicated with!It honestly was the worst buying experience Ive ever been through.First of all, I tried to negotiate on the price (cause this is what you usually do) but there was noooo way to lower the price, not even the tiniest bit...Well, thats not the reason for the bad review but its definitely part of the whole bad buying experience. I agreed to buy the guitar anyways for the listed price, everything okay so far.Then the troubles started to take over. The seller told me that if I want to pay by Credit Card they would only ship to my credit cards address, although this means they would have to ship the guitar to Germany. Never heard something like this before...So I had the trouble of finding a different way to pay. The seller didnt even seem to be interested in finding a different solution for me, I had to figure things out on my own.Well, I found a way and the shipping worked well BUT I asked for a receipt, cause I will need that for import documentation to Germany. And guess what, the receipt never got to me.After asking for a digital receipt via mail, this store seriously asked me what a receipt looks like and offered me a screenshot of the PayPal transaction.....Guys, I dont know what kind of sketchy business is going on here, but the customer is definitely not king in this place!Sorry, but this is not how you treat customers who spend more than 1,000$ at your store....Im just glad the guitar arrived....

Best guitar shop in town! cool staff, awesome guitars, and good prices. I have sold a few guitars to the shop, they always give a fair offer. If you are buying or selling a guitar I would recommend black bird over guitar center or Sam Ash.

As always I have been treated very professionally by the staff. Impressive selection of electric guitars, specially of USA Stratocasters. Worth a visit for every guotarist. You wont be disappointed.

The staff is really nice, but the store is the size of a walk in closet. They had some pretty cool used guitars, and a few amps, but this place is nothing in comparison to Jimmy’s Vintage Music. I couldn’t get over how small the place was. The “vintage” part seems a little lofty as well.. I’d say “used” more than “vintage”. Really cool guys who work there though.

Bought me a beautiful Tobacco Burst tele. Honest good people work there and know just enough for what you want not overwhelming or know-it-alls, have great guitars bases amps very welcoming hope to go there many more times.

Cool guitar shop! Stopped by the other day. They have alot of vintage/antique guitars and amps. Owner is very knowledgeable about guitars and amps. If they dont have what you are looking for, they can find it for you. They dont do repairs/mods. on your guitars or amps.

This is a great little shop! Stopped in while on a business trip and was astounded by the quality and price of what they had in stock. Eric was a super nice guy, wished I lived closer so I could hang out at the shop. I’ll continue to do business via the inter webs with them A+ all the way.

This is the best guitar store in Orlando. The staff is super friendly, and the curated selection is incredible. I have never had a bad experience here. If you want a place to play some killer guitars, and relax, this is the place.

By appointment only - but one of the only real music shops in Orlando. A boutique that specializes in old, unique, and strange guitars and amps. Well worth the visit if you find yourself in Orlando for a week or more and need to buy a guitar to play.

My son wanted to check out this guitar store while we were visiting Orlando. Got there a little late, about 15 minutes before closing. Owner was awesome, hung around and talked guitars with my son after they were supposed to close. Got to play a couple of very nice guitars. Great selection!!!

These guys arent just low-pressure shop owners, theyre NO-pressure. There are lots of cool guitars in stock but they only want you to buy when its a perfect fit. (Compare that to a chain store, where ALL they want is to make a sale). The shop is small but has a great vibe, PERFECT for the Ivanhoe Village scene.

Nice small vintage guitar shop. A few newer, ie: affordable, pieces, but some outstanding service! Staff will always let you play whatever you want. And if you need that oddball amp or guitar, they may have it.

Blackbird Vintage is a small shop with a really nice selection of gear. Eric the owner is very friendly and knowledgeable, no pressure. I was in Orlando for a conference, and really glad I visited the shop.

Found this store on Craigslist. I was searching for a case to fit my vintage Gibson and Blackbird claimed they had them. Drove from Gainesville Fl to check them out. Nice little store located in older part of town. Gentleman there helped me find a case that would work and gave me a fair price. Dont forget to ask for cash discount.

Blackbird is a refreshing change from the big box stores. The staff is polite and well informed. You are a welcome addition to Lake Ivanhoe District.

I brought my guitar in to sell, he gave me an amazing price, and treated me very kindly. I had gone to Sam Ash and guitar center and they both offered me half of what Eric gave me.

Walked in this place on 3/27 with the money I got from my tax return. The guy working the sales floor did not greet me. I ask him a question about a Breedlove guitar and he said he did not know if it included the pickup or not. He could not give me an answer as to the price of the guitar. I had $3400 bucks cash just burning a hole in my pocket and I was out to buy a nice guitar. Then I saw a nice Martin D-35 on the wall. He handed it to me and within 5 minutes I fell in love with the instrument. I ask him a simple question about the Martin and he completely ignored me. He was working on his laptop and had no time for customers. I purchase several high end guitars a year and I will NEVER go in this shiyhole again. Nor will I recommend them to anyone. I I were you Id avoid this place.Here is the owners unbelievable response:Hi James. Im finding it hard to believe a word of your review. There is no possible way you asked if our Breedlove had a pickup in it. None. Nor would my employee fail to answer two questions about a Martin that he just handed you. Feel free to call me, if for no other reason than to verify that you were even at the right store. EricHere is my response:So you think your best response is to call me a liar. All this does is piss me off more. I can promise you every word of that review is true except for the fact that it was a Martin D-28 and not a D-35. I have been to this place more than 3 times to either shop or just look at their products. I recently bought a 2016 G&L ASAT. Their selection ranges from Squier Strats to vintage Gretsch and they even sell strings and pedals! The owners are some of the most humble sellers I’ve encountered. They also know their products very well. They wont sell you defective or low quality gear. This is my favorite guitar shop in Orlando!

Huge disappointment. Drove all the way from Daytona only to find a very very tiny little store with a small inventory of old overpriced junk. Not worth the drive. The best. The guitars in there are incredible. Things you just dont find anywhere. I played an original 70s tele that was waayyyy underpriced and its was special just to hold. The guy behind the counter was super helpful and knowledgeable. I HIGHLY SUGGEST that you go and check it out. Aint the same size as sam Ash. But its better. Almost all Nice guitars only.
