I chose this business mainly due to these reviews. My truck blew its trans apart over in Tampa - got it recovered back to Orlando by AAA and then these guys collected if from my home. Their customer service is excellent - kept me totally appraised with what caused the failure and what was involved in correcting it. Ive been back on the road a couple of weeks now and my truck drives and shifts like new - I couldnt be happier. I suspect I could have paid less had I shopped around, but I was confident this business would do a great job and I wasnt disappointed. Thank You!As a post-script to this, the repair they did lasted just over 12 months before it went bang again. Turns out they did less than half the work they billed me for, so Im disappointed that I cant confront them - theyve gone bust...

This place is awesome! Fred was great. When I was told that my transmission was bad and had to be replaced at another shop, I went here for a second opinion. They agreed and came in at half the cost. This place is top notch! Angie and Fred were nothing less than professional, personal and polite. Even the other girl and mechanic that came through the office were very polite.They had me up and running in no time. Land Rover had a 2-3 week wait. They had me on my way back to Jersey in 1 day. Tims shoddy & expensive auto repair is nothing like the very good work that was done here by John & Craig of SMD Automotive

The shop took me in and looked at my vehicle right away. They were very quick, took care of the issues with the car, and best of all gave me a whole honest rundown of what was happening and what I needed to get done. The service was amazing, informing, and extremely polite. Would definitely recommend this shop.

I stumbled across this number by accident but they have been by far a great repair shop for my car. The guys on the phone (Fred & Chris) were always friendly and honest. The repair was completed quickly and I feel comfortable to return for any future issues I hope to not have.

I heard about theses guys from a friend who had his land rover worked on a few months ago recommended i give them a call. i made my appointment and dropped off my bmw 528 for them to diagnose the transmission and a few other minor problems. within a day i received a phone call from fred the manager explaining in detail what needed to be done and gave me a good estimate. i gave permission to do repairs.two days later i received a call stating my car was read for pick up, i was impressed .upon picking up my car all the repairs where explained in detail and they answered all my questions. my car was washed and clean for my pick up . after driving my car home it drove like it was new again .these guys did a great job . ill definitely be back for all my cars needs.

The work they did on Brians Dodge pick-up was fantastic and has been running flawlessly ever since they repaired the transmission. It had been so difficult to find honest people these days to work on our babies but we wont have that problem anymore since both our vehicles will be taken to Tim and the guys at Florida Auto and Transmission Repair, where we know the job will get done at a price we can live with. Finally someone we can trust and we appreciate that.

Excellent service, good price, very friendly. I highly recommend this shop. I had some work done on my driveshaft here for a very reasonable price. When searching for someone, I was surprised to see this repair center have so many stars. I took the risk, and found a great place to take my car.

My Range Rover started malfunctioning out at Cocoa Beach. A dealership couldnt get me in quickly. I spoke with Craig who was extremely courteous. The vehicle was towed to them. They fixed the thermostat for a fair price. The only kicker was that a day later I had to replace the water pump which I wished they had caught. But, overall they were outstanding!!!

Tim and Mike were extremely helpful in answering all of my questions. They saved me $250 on my timing belt from what the dealer was going to charge me. They even counselled me against doing an unnecessary service to my car that another mechanic recommend because it was factory recommended. I felt they really looked out for my vehicle as well as my bottom line. I would definitely come here again.

Sept. 9, 2019 - Been having an issue since the repair was done on May 3rd (computer code - transmission yellow limp mode after a cold start, starting in August and progressively getting more frequent) With less than 1500 miles driven since the repair - I had a bad feeling and sought warranty service. Tried to contact the business post the Dorian period by telephone, always received a voice message, left several messages. Today I drove there and I find that the business is no longer there - all shuttered and no information posted (I have no information as to why this occurred or the personal circumstances facing the owner). I inquired at the Enterprise rental business next door - they could not offer much information apart from they have closed down. Any warranty work is a lost cause. Reported to BBB. I suppose I also need to investigate other remedies and other options available to me.

I just got my transmission repaired. Price was lower than i expected. The big guy in the Hawaiian shirt took good care of me.

Consumer Alert:Dishonorable business ethics, integrity, values and morals.In Oct of 2015, I paid $3000 to supposedly have a new transmission installed in my 2002 Acura TL, which, at that time, had 99,654 miles.On Feb 28, 2017 (5,603 miles driven), I brought the car in advising issues with the gears slipping.Dec 2018, transmission broke down, car towed in thinking they would honor warranty b/c my car has been driven less than 12,000 miles in these past 3 yrs, I work from home and have 2 vehicles and it was only 2months over the 3yrs.(I now believe they NEVER checked the transmission for issues on the Feb 28, 2017 visit b/c they never quoted me the same non-refundable deposit like on 3rd visit and sent me away saying No issues found).After I reluctantly agreed to pay the $500.00 non-refundable deposit (on the 3rd visit) to evaluate the issue, a few days later, the front desk manager called and advised me that he has Never seen a transmission so Tore Up’! He basically insinuated or asked me who had been drag racing the car. Seriously?Im 56yrs old, I work from home and drive the car less than 4,000 miles a year. Seriously?He also proceeded to advise the warranty could not be honored b/c its 12k miles or 3yr whichever falls first.They had No Intention of claiming Any responsibility or any level of poor workmanship, negligence or cheaply used parts.They could not offer me a logical explanation as to Why or How the transmission was so tore up. Now, my thoughts are; they never actually gave me a full fledged rebuilt transmission the 1st time, or the mechanic who worked on did not rebuild it correctly or even installed a new one!They have soaked me for another $2900.00, and, unfortunately I didn’t have much of a choice but to pay them.After 6 weeks of correspondence with Central Florida BBB explaining my experience; the final notes from Florida Transmission stated my comments were SLANDEROUS, so they ultimately gave me no choice but to state my frustrations here on social media.I just want to post this warning before ‘You’ (the next customer) decides to choose Florida Transmission for Any type of transmission or repair services.Oh, and btw, the owner Tim won’t even bother to get involved in any disputes, he apparently leaves it up to the manager.In addition, Florida Transmission only seems to allow 5 star ratings on their individual website.I wonder why.the whole point I was trying to make was regardless of the time frame; the transmission was only driven 10k miles!If the owner was so concerned about my review he should have reached out when I was corresponding with the BBB.

I first found this place when I moved here two years ago through an online search on BMW discussion boards. I was searching to find a reputable transmission shop who would know how to tackle the complex BMW transmission problems and not just pretend to know what they are doing & rip me off. RECENTLY, I HAD MY CAR BROUGHT BACK IN FOR SEVERAL ISSUES WHICH THEY PROMPTLY DIAGNOSED AND REPAIRED FOR ME. I ALSO NEEDED SOME BODY WORK. ALTHOUGH THEY DO NOT DIRECTLY DO BODY WORK, THEY DID NOT HESITATE TO FIND SOMEONE THEY TRUSTED TO DO THE WORK FOR ME. Do not use this service unless you want to be ripped off. They said they could fix our car but they claim they cannot find the part when we asked for the money back they would only refund part of the money and then said for us to find the part and they would install but we just want our money back so we can pay someone else to do the work if you have been ripped off by these people contact me let’s go to the attorney general !

Took truck in for diagnostic when they came back with price. I told them Give me back my truck. They had different prices . Then the cable broke when they were taking it of the lift. I was stuck paying them for repair but price jumped from 1800 to about 4300. They claimed they replaced all the parts so I said, I want to the old parts that were replaced. When I went pick the truck up the parts could not be found. UnethicalRip offs. Over priced fast talking ....

The quality of workmanship on your car is sub standard and he will make sure anything and everything is wrong with your car. Tim really needs a course in customer service as he has none. Yvonne hit the nail on the head with her review just a month ago. It exemplifies the attitude displayed by Tim towards his customers. Definitely find another auto repair service as this company will not be around for long as more negative reviews come in and they will.

Took my bmw to these guys in hopes they could tell me what was wrong . i droped off my car, the next day i received a call from Fred telling me it was a simple problem and could be fixed that day. . needless to say i picked up my car and have not had any issues since .wish i had known these guys where here in the first place would have saved me alot of money at other shops .. thanks guys .you will always be my go to guys.

Mike and Tim are both courteous and helpful in explaining things, in addition to being honest and reasonable. They will only repair what needs to be repaired. which in our case turned out to only be the shifter for the transmission.

I dropped off the car at 8:00am (first customer) for a routine oil change. I called at 1pm to check the status and Bobby said he was pulling it on the rack now and that he would call me back in 30 minutes. At 3pm, 7 hours after dropping off the car, I go by the shop to pick it up.... even though he never called me back.I have now been sitting in their lobby for nearly 2 hours because they didnt have the oil in stock and are waiting for it to be delivered. Anyone with half a brain would have checked to see if they had the oil and filter in stock at 8am when I dropped it off.Poor customer service and management. Very unprofessional. I would not recommend Florida Transmission Repair. Customers beware. Over 8 hours for an oil change is a joke.

I have had transmissions repaired or rebuilt since the 1960s and on the rare occasion you find a place that offers not only quality work but REAL customer service along with honesty. A few years ago I had a nightmare of an experience with a well know national transmission re-builder that I ended up in court with because of their dishonesty. I know that the industry is plagued by charlatans trying to make a quick buck. This is not the case with Tim and Mike. They gave me a price that was $4500 less than a new transmission and they gave customer service the way its supposed to be. My car is running better than ever and I have Florida Transmission Repair to thank for the excellent work. If you are having transmission issues and want an honest evaluation of the problem then Florida Transmission Repair is the place. If you need to have your transmission worked on or rebuilt with quality and service then Florida Transmission Repair is the only place I would HIGHLY recommend.

Not a fan of this place. I dropped my Trailblazer SS off to have a major oil leak fixed before I made a trip to Kentucky. I told them I had a feeling that it was the rear main seal, so they said they would take a look and see if thats what the issue was. They confirmed that was the issue, i had a leak of of the housing back there and the replaced the housing and seal. I went and picked it up, paid them their $1200 dollars and started my trip to Kentucky. 6 hours of driving later, the leak was back and even worse than before, I spent over $300 dollars on just oil on my way there, and now my truck is stranded in Kentucky. They said I can bring it back to them to have another look, but that doesnt help me much when I cant even get it back to Florida....shouldve been fixed right the first time. The lady that runs the front desk is also pretty rude.

Horrible. My car (Betsy) is 16 years old and has well over 200K miles. Brought my car in because speedometer and odometer stopped working over 2 months ago (so milage on display is wrong,) and my cruise control keeps burning out. Only wanting to keep the car safe to drive because I do a LOT of highway driving. Even though she has problems, I can depend on her to get me where I need to go. Talked to Tim on the phone for over 10 mins explaining all of this... yes, she has a lot of problems, would be foolish of me to expect to think she doesnt have problems, and I plan on driving her until she says its time to stop. Wanted simple diagnosis to help me get the speedometer and odometer and cruise control gixed. Got a long list of things that are wrong (again, no shocker, this is expected,) but to see P.O.S. written on my paperwork just about sent me over the edge. I went back to confront them face to face and was given some caca story that it stands for parts ordered. I said, we didnt order parts so what does P.O.S. stand for? Never seen someone back pedal so fast in my life. Mechanics deal with cars that are falling apart all the time--that is their job. If all cars were in good condition then most places would be out of business. However, to write P.O.S. on a customers paperwork is unacceptable. Needless to say I will be telling everyone about this and will send a copy of my paperwork to the Better Business Bureau. Considering how much news stations love this type of stuff, they messed up big time.

I will begin by telling you that I cannot tell you about the quality of their workmanship or customer service during or after the repair because I never had my vehicle repaired at Florida Transmission Repair. And I never had it repaired here because no one from the shop ever bothered to call me back after three telephone calls (over a week), submitting an electronic appointment request on their website and sending an email that I was appalled that no one had made an attempt to get back with me. If that is the level of service that they put in the first encounter when you put your first foot forward, I cannot imagine the lack of diligence they may exhibit after you pay the bill. I am to say the least completely dissapointed and bewildered by the lack of attention. As a business man myself I would never allow such a blantant lack of disregard to ever take place with my customers. Therefore, my initial experience with this organization is extremely negative I would caution the owner to spend a little more time and money in training whoever is manning the phones and internet requests.

Went to 3 different transmission shops before i went to european transmission and the forth time was a charm met tim very honest guy helped me out with everything all the different shops told me i needed my transmission rebuilt when i went to tim he was as honest can be and worked with bmws for many many years tim found out the guy i brought it from put in the wrong radiator which wasnt cooling my transmission right and tim saved me alot of money ! very trustworthy and this place isnt just trying to get money out of you they really want to fix the problem thank you tim for all your cooperation and patience and i recommend anyone to this shop especailly if you have a foriegn car this is the place to come . A+++++++++++++ !!!!!!!!!!!!!! If i have any other problems im coming right back to tim.

I took my car in to get looked at, i had transmission problems.Fred and his staff are the best .i will use them again if my car has any more problems.

Most mechanic work is done here, havent seen some of the equipment necessary for full trans repair.

Very argumentative and poor customer service. I was told that there would be no diagnosis fee unless engine codes were pulled. I asked that I be informed if that was needed because I did not want to pay a fee at the time. Tim agreed and I took it in. I dropped it off in the morning and was told it would be complete by the afternoon. After waiting several hours, calling with no answer, and even giving them an extra hour they were still not done and there was no one in the office. I went around back and saw there were no mechanics present either. There was a guy back there smoking a cigarette that said everyone went to lunch. Really??? EVERYONE? Who does that? And then the one person thats left doesnt even man the office for over an hour. So I say well I was told my car would be done and I dont have time to wait for lunch to end, Ill just have to come back. He told me I was asking too much and that there was paperwork on my car so they had already diagnosed it. Of course he didnt explain what it was insisting that I wait. I left and said I would return for my spare key and diagnosis. When I called, no one answered or returned my voice-mail. When I called again, Tim answered and goes oh, I remember you! You left, that was crazy. I thought you hated me! So unprofessional again. I say OK well you said there was paperwork youd done so can you tell me what it was? Oh yeah, but Id have to get it out and call you back. Im thinking why not just pull it out while Im on the phone? Then I say OK when can I call back. We can discuss it when you come get your key because there is a $59 fee. Ummm...you told me there was no fee unless you had to pull engine codes which I specifically asked you not to do (BTW that makes no sense anyway, pulling engine codes is just hooking up a meter and reading it). I know nothing about that, we charge a fee. He constantly cut me off, over talked me, was rude and condescending. I am so disgusted with the dishonesty and disrespect! Save yourselves! These guys are exactly why mechanics have a bad name.

This shop is extremely expensive and they take forever. All they care about is getting jobs that pay big and they pay no mind to people who have smaller projects.

We have been using Florida Transmission for years for all of our auto repairs. We find them to be fair and honest and they do great work.

Reasonable prices, would definitely use them again.
