The supermarket reopened and renamed as Mei’s Supermarket. Definitely recommend the egg tart from the bakery, it’s really delicious and authentic!
This store has been in business for about two years. It usually has fresh produce with very good prices. However the shelves for the dry goods are not well stocked. Varieties, choices and brands are not consistent. Actually after Hurricane Irma their shelves have been and are still quite empty. They move stuff around very often to make it hard for you to find things. They do not always label merchandises properly and accurately. Management should do a better job to keep up with local competitions. Recently the deli was closed after changing owner/management again. It was doing well at first but then some folks from North East China was running it for a while but left and closed, though I was not surprised as they did not do a good job cooking hot food. I hope the store improves its management and operations and keeps customers in the Eastern Orlando area coming to the store. Otherwise they will go to other stores in the downtown area and west Orlando area. I hope they do well in the future as it is in a convenient location for a lot of UCF people.
This store is closed, not sure why it still shows up.
I am happy that there is a big Asian grocery store near east side of the town, but there are few things I hope they can make changes and improve. All the shopping carts need to be new, stocks need to be consistent, and meat need to be fresh. Few days ago they also had fridge issues. I hope this place will survive.
I live downtown where we have an abundance of Asian options and I love visiting the various markets to know where I can find the best selection and the best choices for my cooking style. I was impressed with the produce selection, both with the cleanliness/freshness and the variety. But the things that stand out for me, making this better than other markets in Orlando.... They have more varieties of mushrooms than Ive ever seen. They have a great selection of fresh noodles. This is the only Asian market Ive found in Orlando that Id consider buying fresh meat from, it looks very clean, well organized, and priced reasonably. All in all, I will make the extra drive to get the selection they provide.
Large selection of stuff from around the world. This is a great place to get packaged items and cheap fruit/veggies, many of them grown locally (as long as youre okay with bumps and bruises below premium supermarket grade, this isnt Publix).HOWEVER: Fish and meat here smell very off--and not in an outdoor market or butcher sort of way! Their freezer was clearly shut off at some point judging by the way ice formed around the doors. Stay away from the meats and frozen goods!
The hot lunch to-go boxes are great! I also love their fresh produce and mochi ice cream selection. The staff are great and helpful if youre trying to find something. Keep an eye out for store specials!
It used to be one of me favorite places to go grocery shop but since the hurricane LAST year there just isnt anything there anymore. They are going through a thing with new management so hopefully it becomes better in the future.
This is a good size Asian food market. Selections are fairly good. Prices are not bad either. Whenever I need my Chinese food items, I will come here to shop
This place has been open for a couple of years now and they are still trying to get their shelves stocked properly. At some point you have to get the shelves established and not have products in shipping boxes on the aides. Please get it together.
The place seemed well stocked in the middle but pretty barren on the edges. And despite being called the best Asian supermarket in Orlando, it didnt have any of the 3 snack items I was looking for, which Id had at the Japanese festival a month prior. This isnt why I gave it 3 stars. I just thought the place looked a little grungy. Also the staff did not seem very interested in me and my friend being inside. Kind of grumpy.
Pretty good this supermarket had plenty to choose from. And more variety. Not the best market ever but its good
Hands down great for unusual fresh Asian veggies and ethnic Asian foods. Also has fresh butcher and seafood market inside, as well as cooked food box lunch for only $5. Separate vendor inside sells freshly made Bobo tea, an Asian specialty. If you love Asian food, you should check this out.
1st Spring. you want fresh fish at a good price? 1st spring is the place to go. they have crabs, beef, dairy, fruit. And the employees are really friendly
Compared to other oriental markets around Orlando, this one is not in good condition. I prefer iFresh Market much more. They do have essential Asian recipe ingredients though, but thats about it. Ordering food prepared there... expect bad language barrier.
Really like shopping here. Produce is fresh at good prices. Not to mention all the delicious food selections - also prepared foods - another world 5 mins away!
Probably only one of the asian grocery stores in this area. They’ve been lacking in options lately but I suspect it might be due to it suffering after hurricane Irma and never fully recovered. That’s only an assumption though. Hopefully it gets better though!
The store has the basic asian pantry items needed. It is somewhat lacking at different times for vegetables and frozen meats. The store also has a hot foods section, with the usual selections of rice and barbecued meats. It does not seem to be open after 5pm on weekdays, but I may have just caught it right when they close.Edit review: Inventory seems to be limited now. I can find only the bare necessities. Meat selection has also been limited so I cant make super out of the ordinary recipes.
Amazing selection of fruits, veg, canned items, pre-made, frozen, etc., but a consistent smell of expired fish. As well, a lot of the fresh produce is well past a sell-by date. However, I will continue to shop there for all of the packaged and frozen foods. Great prices.
I go every Tuesday for their $5 lunch special and its the best hidden secret in Orlando. I LOVE it and Ive never been disappointed. The staff is friendly and the food is delicious. I will be back, every Tuesday. Thank you 1st Spring.
Large supermarket with lots of Asian selections. Fish market in the back, with lots of frozen goods as well. Lunch boxes have a good selection of food. Chinese BBQ are available as well. Quality of merchandise good and bad. Located in a dilapidated strip mall on eastern Colonial near Rouse Rd.
The stock doesnt seem bad, prices arent terrible. However, they may be technically open to 9:00, they say no entry after 8:45. Totally reasonable if that were true, but you may want to actually show up at 8:15 as around our visit at 8:30 they were locked up and gone. The time previous, it was about 8 and most everything was shut down and it seemed they were anxious to leave, turning away some other shoppers at about 8:20.
Its a decent place for Asian spices etc. We find spring roll wrappers with no effort.
Decent store. My only complaint is the smell. It smells like bad seafood when you walk in.
I always find some awesome teas and Chinese Herbal Soup mixes. Great convenient store.
Supermarket, Asian. Large variety of condiments, buns, vegetables, seafood, etc. Fish section will smell to people used to cased seafood. Big rice bags. They even had frozen roti bread. Cashiers may or may not speak English.
This place is huge they have a variety of oriental products but the place is not clean smells
It has what I need for doing Asian meal preparation. The store looks scarce in parts, and the seafood section is easy to find using only your nose.
Great selection of produce. Well organized. Great convenient store.
Great store but products in fridges need to be refrigerated better. Also pungent smell around fish tanks is revolting. Great selection of Asian ethnic products.
I give them a 4.5 because they need to widen their selection
Coming from Buffalo NY where there was a great Chinese supermarket, I was delighted to find one here in Orlando. I bought some tea and rice this trip, and look forward to coming back soon!
Originally coming from Japan I thought down here in Florida I wouldnt find a Asian market with cheap Asian snacks but I was wrong this place is great .
They are somehow always in the middle of re-stocking, so some of the freezer are empty whenever I go there, but otherwise I like the selection and price is reasonable.
Great selection of produce, including some interesting variants on familiar foods (like Thai bananas), as well as a well organized selection of meats, prepared foods, frozen foods, tofu, and sauces.
Best pork bellies. Great meat prices. Love it
Find so many great things here and the staff is so pleasant
I wont be coming back here. I saw roaches crawling on shelves, and bugs inside a couple bags of rice. Theres better kept markets not too far from this one.
I like their seafood and meat dpt.
Good place to go. Closer than the first oriental further west and it has most of the things here
Live fish section was very good, but recently they are closing it down.
First wiff is strong but I get used to it quickly. Produce is fresh and with a good variety Meat is fresh with a large selection
Its got the same stuff as other Asian supermarkets for the same price but it lacks a food stall, which hurts it. Still, its a good place to go for Asian groceries if youre close.
There are not much choices anymore unlike before lots of seafoods and thjngs that we need. I guess their closing and their trying to sell evwrythibg.
Dear Asian neighbors, thank you! This market is truly a blessing for those of us attempting to emulate you!
I prefer 1st spring generally for vegetable and fruit. Always fresh and you cannot beat the price.
Nice selection and very cheap. It has become my new favorite shopping for asian groceries
Good selection of instant food and freshly prepared fish.
Good prices. Great duck
Very interesting store... You will enjoy it
An Asian food supermarket. If you want to try oriental good, this is an appropriated place to purchase
Under the new ownership, weve noticed this market carries more 🇯🇵Japanese🇯🇵 products; including Tsubaki shampoo & conditioner, more variety of udon and somen, sake and snacks that we L💖VE!
Great Prices amazing selection of produce and hard to find Asian Items
An Asian supermarket.. Good for food refill
It’s been very low items for last year. Don’t buy any meat or seafood from there. If you look around there’s black mold on the ceiling and they seem to can’t afford to fix anything. I would rather shop at lotte.
Great supermarket. Best for all need weather its simple veggies or specialty herbs and sauces they have it all. I come from California and I have seen many Asian markets this is definitely in the top 5 best markets. Best one here in florida for sure. Great variety of all products and fair pricing for what your getting. Auethenic experience and smiling associates who dont spread much English but help where they can. The best part is the store is constantly expanding every time I visit there is always some thing new. Hopfuly soon a hot deli will open up! I recommend this place to everyone.*** UPDATE 10/10/15 ***They just opened up their hot deli yesterday food was good for the price. They also sell vegan soy protein alternatives including pork and fish.
Good place for fresh fish. They process (cut and pill) free also.
Even though most things arent labeled very well, I tend to find most of what I need. Some of the fruits were going bad but I did see someone coming to put out new fruit.
The service here is great. My eggs were all broke by the time i got home for some reason. I called the market and they exchanged new ones for me. They have variety of asian goods, fresh fish, meats, and dry goods. The price is MUCH CHEAPER than any other asian markets in orlando. They have sales all the time too. My favorite market now
I love Asian stores. It is so interesting to see all of the international food. I found Matcha, ginger candy ginger tea, roti, plum saice, rice noodles, pocky, pickled ginger and more. The sales staff was very helpful. (Just know that when you first walk in it smells like fish)
Omg!!! I love this store! Best prices and helpful staff!
The entire place looks ABANDONED. Shelves are half empty
The spices were spread over multiple aisles, shelves were half empty. The cash register had a sign that said they were not closing but restocking.
Cheap but the meat is low quality and you have to check certain things for mold. Lots of interesting options so on balance its okay if your careful.
Good selection of candies, which is all I primarily was after. It was a tad bit dirty but it didnt bother me personally
Love that this is an all in one supermarket and place to get some fresh cooked food!
Good varieties of grocery items with very affordable price.
Its a good place to shop for fresh seafoods and other countrys best products!
Great asian and vegtable market. And good Boba tea
Anything you may need for an Asian cuisine dinner.
This supermarket rocks! It is much better than that dump in Pine Hills.
Favorite Asian store in Orlando! They especially make some dynamite char-siu bao as part of their lunch bar
Excellent selection and prices, friendly staff, and some stuff I had planned on buying for much more elsewhere.
Limited fresh seafood, hot food area was always closed
This place is closed over year !!
I tried to visit here two times in recent 2 weeks but closed.
😞i Dont like this supermarketIts not vibrant
Interesting food selection not available elsewhere
I waited for a long time for this supermarket to open! This place is just awesome!HEADS UP! Bring a good pair of reading glasses! Good size Asian supermarket on the east side of Orlando, friendly staff
Not much choices and dirty and smelly
Good service, good prices.
Great variety, but it is almost impossible to get help in English.
Friendly staff offering good service and products
It has many Asian stuff but it is so smelly sometimes. Some food aint that fresh
I enjoy the variety of fish decent service
Large space for an Asian Supermarket in East Orlando. The shelves were surprisingly sparse of inventory the last time we were there.
I’m a vegetarian and dislike the smell of fish so in my opinion the smell was a little too much, but the veggies and coconut milk were very good!
Good place to find Asian products.
Great selection even while they restock
Man I would give it a 0 if I could nah dont go here
I like to shop there but every time I shop at fish Department we waited 45 minutes to 1 hour to get your fish done even work and walk around there they just ignores dont help the guy on the back at all
Excellent food in the small restaurant they have
This place is closed is changing names
Great for finding Seafood another Asian Delicacies
