Amazing prices, wonderful service. Workers were very helpful and willing to talk. They even discounted my purchase $15! The prices they pay for American coins are superior compared to most other coin shoppes. They sell rare and amazing coins for surprisingly low prices, again, compared to other coin shops. Absolutely wonderful!!!
Fair prices and friendly service from very knowledgeable staff. Ive considered buying on eBay, but their prices are about the same and its nice to get the coins myself instead of relying on the postal services.
Staff is super friendly and welcoming! Service is quick and I was in and out in a few minutes! Highly recommend if you are looking to buy/sell coins.
Marked up coins at the national coin show then labeled them half off, but after looking in the offical red book found the prices were $10 over priced.
I paid a visit this morning to start my adventures in the world of buying silver. The staff was helpful and extra patient in helping me find what I was looking for (and a little more - I like to explore). I bought a single beautiful ounce of silver - a rare coin from 1972 with pictures of five presidents and the word Universaro. I think thats Latin for where it was made or something, but I didnt ask.
My first there and look forward to being a repeat customer!
Outrageous pricing. We have gone to 7 different coin stores just today and these guys are about $6 over anyone else on just rounds. They do have some awesome coins but be prepared to pay for them. My advice to you is look around for other stores first and use this place as a last resort
Very friendly staff. Nice store.
I highly recommend American Coin. I was in need of a particular Irish coin and they went above & beyond to locate not only one, but two of these coins for me. They were kind, helpful, professional and concerned for the individual needs of each of their customers. I will never go anywhere else if I need a coin. Thank you American Coin for going the extra mile!!!
Excellent Service! They were more than fair with the price they gave me for the coins I brought in! Dave was very knowledgable and kind!
I came in to be educated in purchasing gold and silver as I knew nothing about the subject. I was treated extremely well, and the employee (I believe his name is TC) took his time educating me in many aspects and giving me a basic knowledge of pricing, value, risks, rewards, and some other interesting facts (the US doesnt have pennies, but cents). Not that I expected to be treated poorly, but rarely have I been treated so well at an establishment. Ill definitely be back, next time to purchase.
Excellent selection - knowledge staff. May not be the cheapest but I felt they knew what they were talking about. Probably more of a collector type shop then if you are trying to stack a bunch of Bullion.
I brought my son in because he had some coins he inherited from Grandpa that he was interested in selling. The owner, Dave, was fantastic. He gave my son more than a fair deal for his coins and explained the intensive process of becoming a Certified Gemologist, and the importance of having a savings account. The treatment was received was very personal, we felt so special, and the entire experience was positive and uplifting! It made me want to shop here for all my future jewelry needs.
I had a very pleasant experience with American Coin. Better than any coin establishment I have been to thus far. I have definitely scoured my fair share of coin shops. I really liked the owners forward and honest attitude. He was very kind and impressively knowledgeable. Everyone was easy to talk to and conversation flowed without effort. That in itself is very nice! I will not only be going back but am going to make this my go-to place for coin purchases and information. If you are an avid collector or are even just starting out then get your butt to American Coin! The owners knowledge will definitely help out anyone starting into the fascinating world of coins. :-) :-) :-)
These guys are super helpful - returned my call even though they’ve been busy lately, explained everything I needed to know about purchasing precious metals that I needed to know. Thanks! Will definitely be in some time.
Great service and knowledge.
Very informative conversation. Great customer service. The gentleman had our best interest at heart.
There is no other location in Utah County that youre going to want to visit other than American Coin for all your coin OR jewelry questions. Hands down they are the leading experts and their staff is not only knowledgeable and professional but also approachable. DONT take your rare gold or silver coins and collectables anywhere else. And that goes for all things jewelry as well. I mean have you seen their beautiful collection? Take a gander and you wont be sorry.
A few years ago, I went here to sell an ounce lady liberty coin, the owner told me what he would pay for the coin and luckily right before I took the money I realized that he was trying to only pay me for the silver weight. After reading what the other reviewers have said, I truly believe that he is a crook. He should be shut down. I would have put a review on here a long time ago, but never really thought about it til now. He should be ashamed of himself!!I am editing this review after I seen the owner added what he wanted to say. And he is trying to lie again and make me look like I don’t know what I’m talking about. He is talking about straight silver price- and as you can see in my original review statement I am talking about selling him a silver lady liberty coin- which costs more than just an ounce silver coin. He knows that. Shameful. Be careful with this business. These folks are crooks.
The guys were very helpful explaining the different choices when looking at purchasing precious metals. Definitely will be a repeat customer.
I have been here quite a few times and have never had any problems.Every one was very helpful.I read most of the review here that say the had a bad experience they all seem to have to been trying to sale jewelry I have bought and sold jewelry and I can tell you on the resale end you wouldnt get near what you paid for it no matter where you go. Its like buying and selling a car.If your selling a coin a good price is about %10 be low what you bought which is why you buy hold
American coin is a great place to take your coins they were fair and honest I would recommend them to all my friends and family great and friendly service it was a great experienceThank you for your helpTom wakolee
They give an old Western trade shop feel and I love it! They help you out, have a good conversation with you, or if you’d like they leave you alone to do your shopping
TC was a super good help finding coins and was super super nice! The selection was amazing and will definitely be going back!
Excellent customer service. Great selection. Very helpful when asking questions.Thank you for all your help.
The owner was kinda onery
I have purchased many silver medallions here for Christmas presents and to invest a little. I have always received stellar service and enjoyed a wonderful selection. Would recommend to anyone who needs any type of coin or metals.
Friendly staff and fair prices. Will be a recurring customer!
The employees are nice and they will tell you everything you need to know and will give you honest opinion.
Sold my silver to help with collage.fair price.good service.highly recommend.
Very knowledgable and very fair.
We sat down and talked to Dave about selling some gold coins, under a flawed concept of the results. He immediately knew that I didnt know what I wanted to do with the gold in my portfolio.Dave was willing to spend the time with us, to explain my options as a gold owner. He didnt have to do any of this. He could have simply bought my gold coins and sent me on my way.I am very grateful to him for the knowledge he share with me, before I had sold my coins uninformed.I would recommend American Coins to anyone interested in buying or selling metals. Their honesty, concern and interest in their customers is admirable.
Direct and honest
They were great to work with and I would recommend it if you dont know what you have like old coins
We went in a couple of days ago to talk about a coin collection that we inherited. We wanted to ask Dave a few questions and get a feel for his personality before making a decision about what we want to do with the collection. He sat down with us for over an hour, talked about the history of silver, what to look for when going through a big pile of coins, which years to care about and which not. He looked at a few samples we brought in, and was able to give us a good idea of ballpark estimates on various items. I had previously priced those particular items to see if he would come in the right range or not and he seemed knowledgeable and fair without ever referencing a book. I was impressed with the fact that he spent so long with us and we left without transacting, or even promising to be back. He seems to just thoroughly enjoy talking about coins.I will say that his demeanor might seem a bit off-putting at first, as some other people have mentioned -- but I personally found it refreshingly honest. He doesnt mess around, he tells it like it is, and he doesnt try to sugar-coat when the item youre showing him is junk.
The coins are high quality and are sold at good prices. The employees are very kind.
Just started my coin collection and I was treated with down to earth customer service. Will return for my next purchase.
They were very helpful friendly and informative. Didnt give me the answer I wanted but helped me out a lot
Wow. Went here because I figured it was better than a pawn shop. I didnt know what I was doing, and Dave, the well-groomed owner, bad-mouthed the 3 oz of sterling silver I was selling and then offered me $20. Another customer looked startled and then quietly told me to go to a nearby pawnshop, where the un-manicured guy was much more straightforward and gave me almost twice as much.
The only coin shop in town that as willing to price my collection without charging a fee.
Service was excellent and prices were very fair. I will be coming back for more coins soon.
I went to find out how much some old gold jewelry was worth, he gave me a price of what he would pay and I thought i would get a second opinion the pawn shop 2 blocks south bought the gold for almost exactly double what this d. Bag offered. They will take advantage of the ill informed. I wouldnt advise anyone to do business there. If they would cheat you on scrap prices imagine what they do with their jewelry customers!
American Coin has nice products but a small selection. Average consumer service but there premium over spot price for Silver Eagles is noticeably and unacceptable higher (22.8% higher) than Rust coin which is less than three miles away. There premium is 37.3% higher than Monarch Coin in Murray but gas would eat up any savings, but still 37.3% higher? I asked why there premium was so much higher and there answer was so convoluted I believe it was a well prepared answer designed to dodge the question. I am not a large volume silver buyer but every paycheck I invest in silver. If I bought from American Coin I would lose out on an extra ounce of silver over a relatively short period of time.FYI: The shop is a little hard to find, they are in the back of a jeweler shop.
Just remember this store is connected to Hur Jewelers and owned by the same person so expect the same treatment and service which sorely lacking. Its not a one star its a no star but unfortunately Google doesnt let you post zero.
Friendly people fair prices
The owner has the personality of a pit viper. The two times I transacted business with them I was treated as if they were doing me a favor.
It was alright, the did undervalue a couple things and I didnt realize until I left, cost me about 500.00 believing him and not checking the values before
Nice store but can get a bit pricey
He is dishonest prices are not fair.
