I love this place as an alternative to the big box stores. Their hardware section is second to none!!

Staff was very friendly and helpful. David started with a joke about being a stud finder, and helped us troubleshoot an issue we were having with a tool we already had and saved us some money from buying something new. The store was clean, spacious, and well-appointed. I will be going back.

Olympia Ace HardwareStopped in to purchase some emergency plumming supplies. Upon entering the store an elderly gentleman behind the counter says You have 5 minutes. Didnt ask if I needed any help. Didnt ask what I was looking for. I looked at the signs above the isles and found the area I needed. Upon entering the isle another robust elderly gentleman employee said in a very loud and unfriendly tone, The store closes in 5 minutes. Then he continued to stare at me while I was looking for the PVC glue and plumming parts I needed. He didnt ask me what I needed or if he could be of any help. He just continued to stare at me. Another patron entered the store and he was just as rude to that gentleman. I guess customer service is not either of their stong suits and they dont really care if they are helpful or not. The prices are a bit high and the selection is very limited. I will not be giving this store any business in the future, I will take my money and patronage to another chain store that has better customer service, prices and selection. I am guessing the owner either doesnt know or doesnt care

I love my local Ace store and I love the diversity of retail staff there. However, lately the lines have been 8-9 deep and even though the checkout area is more efficient (sorta), it takes awhile. One of the last time I went, there was 2-3 inches of rain water that I had to sludge through to look at plants in the outdoor area. The water went over my sandals. Kinda yucky. Not a lot could be done for that, I suppose, that wouldnt be major. I certainly dont want the store to move elsewhere, but they are growing out of their space. In general, I really like this store.

I enjoy browsing in this store and thinking of all the projects that I could be working on... now, completing those projects is another story! The staff are friendly and helpful. I can usually find what I need in the store, and if not, it is available online. I especially appreciate that Ace offers curbside pick-up during the pandemic.

Based on my experience, organized and clean atmosphere. Helpful employee. Found the item I needed. Would recommend this location and return.

Always have great seasonal items along with the day help for your home. Found Adirondack type chairs that are easy to move and will hold up to 350 pounds with a fold in drink holder for only $42.00. Great Traeger selection/cooking supplies/tools as well.

Mobile Detailing by Mike restocking quality hose nossels. We appreciate they allowed us to upgrade to heavy grade.

I love this place because when I telephoned ahead to see if they had Hand Warmers an Associate checked for me. Upon arrival I noticed Social Distancing sign on a door & 6 markers on the floor leading to Cashiers.

Nice and clean, this had smaller stocks. but we are use to a larger Ace.

Was not pleased with the employee’s. They seemed very grumpy and unwilling to help locate items. I felt as is if was bothering them with asking where an item was located. If I need to go to Ace Hardware again I’ll most definitely choose a different location.

Ace hardwares are great stores. They always have a little bit of everything. This particular one has hoses and attachments for Craftsman shop vacs.

Man running front registers deserves a raise. He was smoothly checking out two registers at once, while the computer processed payments he would hop back and forth to keep things moving as fast as possible. Kudos!

Friendly people. Good service finding what you want. They will take spent fluorescent tubes--the big Box stores wont--and they do sell LED replacements for those tubes. They also have millions of small things that youd NEVER find at a big box store. Parking very good.

I love supporting local small businesses. Usually you get better customer service and support. Not the case today! Due to the COVID pandemic they have shortened hours, I made a visit that day and picked up some stuff but forgot the one thing I really needed! I returned at 6:01 and was turned away because they closed at 6! No exceptions, really, one minute late? They had people at the cash register still checking out! I knew exactly where the item I needed was. They just lost a loyal customer!

I like Oly Ace hardware, its fairly close to me and has most of what you need for minor repairs. They do not have huge selection so unless its a fairly easy repair, they may not have what you need. Staff are super friendly and attentive.

Whats the saying; Ace is the place!! Amazing how a small store can service almost all your needs. Much more personable than the big box stores down the street. Dont let the size fool you ~ good things do come in small box stores.

I love going to my local hardware store, theyre always friendly and helpful. The selection is a little limited, but theyre willing to order just about anything for you.

Their selection of hardware (nuts, bolts, washers, etc) is great! They have a very good selection and its well organized. Ace in West Oly is the only store I use for any type of fastener I need.

We bought a Weber grill from Chris at the store. Chris was very helpful and patiently answered all our questions. Chris and Chip installed the grill correctly. I am very impressed with Chris and recommend Chris for all your outdoor purchases.

Its convenient for when you need a tool or materials immediately. Otherwise, the prices are pretty high. Amazon has most of the stuff in this store listed at half the cost. The staff does not seem excited to work there.

At 6:05 I trade to Give this business patronage. I am medically exempt and not required to wear a face mask by our state rules. This business refuse me business and did not offer any accommodations because I was not wearing a face mask. The only thing the employee said was I need to leave! I spend hundreds of dollars a year at this hardware store. I for one will not be going back to any Ace Hardware store.

I like this hardware store, especially if you just need to pick up something small (or a few items), they have a decent selection and very helpful staff who will spend time with you and answer your questions. The prices are just as reasonable as the big box places (like Home Depot, etc.) without having to wander around a huge building when you just need a bulb for your nightlight. Very convenient and a good store.

They got all sorts of esoteric stuff that nobody else wants to carry.

Its a hardware store. You can get in and out quickly. They have most of the stuff you need for home projects.

Helpfull, unlike Box Stores

Basic hardware store but pricey.

Expanded selection of home goods within the store to create a one stop shop atmosphere. The store did have a little bit of everything to peruse and meet your needs. But the prices were higher than other similar stores and the outdoor furniture was lacking. Any larger furniture advertised in the paper is not displayed. Plants were sad and wilted, but some lillies were nice. Employees were super nice and helpful! But overall, I wasnt a fan of the store.

For the first time I really wish I could give less than one star. On our second 50 mile round trip to pick up our poorly repaired screen we were assured that it must be our fault rather than being given an apology. On our 3rd 50 mile round trip to pick up our poorly repaired screen we got to meet the mgr. And suddenly the entire mystery of our first bad experience at Ace Hardware in 20 years was solved! If you must shop at Ace make your purchase online and pick it up at the store. Or better yet visit Ace Hardware Shelton where you will meet some great people and have some warm fresh popcorn! 😊 will try to post a picture of the poorly repaired screen but Im not great with technology

I went to Ace after being at a big box store that was lacking in customer service. When I entered the front door I was greeted with a smile, when I needed assistance there was a salesperson there to assist me, when I got to the checkout line I didnt have to check my own items, there was a clerk there! AND I didnt have to purchase a bag to carry the items I purchased! Ill be back! Thank you for the customer service!

I love this store. When I walk in, the clerk at the register immediately greets me and asks if he/she can help me find anything. Whatever Im looking for, they can tell me exactly what aisle and shelf to find it on. Great customer service makes it easy to go local rather than big box.

The store is like one of those old fashioned hardware stores, theyre employees are calm people, and that helps.

This place has the selection I need for gardening, irrigation, canning, and plants--far better than Lowes or Home Depot! Even better, theyre open late. This store doesnt cut shelf space for essentials just to make room for garish displays of toys and high-end retail appliances--its a hardware and gardening store.

Not bad store for tools

Having been to many Ace Hardwares across WA, Or and MT this store has the worst wood storage and selection out there. The wood is wet and mossy, lacking any real covering from the elements. On top of that, because they don’t turn over wood frequently it’s all been in the conditions for a long period of time.At twice the price of Home Depot, this is a pathetic source for lumber.

You can get what you need for the house or yard without walking miles and miles like in the big box stores. And there are staff available to help!

This is a great place to shop for an item or two when in a hurry. For things that are for a large project you would be better off going to one of the larger home improvement stores.

The absolute worst key experience ever. After dealing with a extremely uneducated associate and sending me all over town to find the proper key that they didnt have I returned to the another key desk person that tried to help until the store manager said they cant program my key and this was exactly what the other guy told me to do. No to mention the $100 key I bought from were they told me to get it. I am done with ACE.

They have everything. Not a deep supply, but one of each! If you know what you want avoid mansplaining clerks. They mean well, but are not a knowledable as they think they are.

Staff are very knowledgeable, they proactively recommend products for whatever job and explain its benefits.
