Marty is the best - took me a few years to find a mechanic I can trust and rely on as I am extremely skeptical of mechanics. He is honest, makes time for you and happily explains everything and fair pricing. Great husband/wife operation over there and you will not find better.

Came here for the first time and the owner took good care of me. I did a basic oil change. Even though he didnt have availability for same the day, he asked me to come back in one hour so he could squeez me in. I came back and he took me in right away, did my oil and fluid change and had me out of there in 20 min so so.

I always go to this place to get my vehicle worked on. Mardi is an honest and sharp mechanic. I never feel like Im being short-changed or ripped off. Hard working and hospitable. These guys are doing it right and Im happy to give them my business.

A couple of weeks ago I took my car to the dealer for a routine oil change. After the work was done, they gave me a long list of very costly repairs that they said it urgently needed. After sitting with this information for several days, I decided to take my car for a second look at Oakland Auto Center. Marty and Missie took care of me. After a careful inspection, Marty told me that the car was in very good shape, and needed none of what I was told by the dealer. I was taken aback by the deceit of the dealer, but most of all by Martys honesty. I will continue to bring my car to Oakland Auto Center, and will give them a well deserved 5 stars!

Marty helped me out immensely a couple of years back and is about to do the same again. I have the utmost confidence in him and trust his judgment completely. He came to me highly recommended by Jeff Mitchell and I have not regretted it for a moment.And as I said, once again, Marty and Missie have come through with flying colors for me. Marty is so upfront in his conversations with you, that there is no doubt that he will do exactly what he says and will do it with you financially in mind.Not only did he do what was asked, he took that extra step to make sure that I understood what was going on and why he was doing what he was doing on my car. AND got it done in no time at all. I was only without my car for a day and a half!! He told me that it would be ready at 3:00 and it was.He also showed me pieces that were removed from my car so I could better understand what he had done. Great guy! Unfortunately I wish I could write a better review but I have to be honest. I took my car in to replace the water pump and check out my rough idle. I got a call saying it would be $325 to have an aftermarket water pump installed. I knew that was the cost the DEALER would have charged for OE but I figured if they could find the rough idle it would be worth paying up for. When I went into the shop I was told I had a possible vacuum leak. They didnt test anything!! When I asked about it they said I would have to bring it back to have tested because they were too busy. So I did a week later and they charged me $185 just to do a smoke test and still could not tell me where the leak is. The DEALER charges $110 for this test and definitely would have pinpointed the problem. Overpriced!!!

Ive gone to a number of mechanics in south FL, Marty is my guy. Marty is a genuine mechanic who will not overcharge you or rip you off with labor just because he can. Very efficient and quick with diagnosing any mechanical problems and will be completely honest with part price and labor. I feel extremely comfortable with my car in his hands. Ok, so this place is great. Thats not correct. Its actually fantastic. How many auto repair places have you ever been to where the people are honest, nice, smart, knowledgeable, and actually fix your car the way they say theyre going to and charge you an extremely reasonable price? Probably none before you visit this business. Never seen anything like it.

This is in response to James Burandt one star The complaint was poor air flow from the dash vents I connected a scanner and accessed the A/C Heater control head Retreived code BO248 Code description is mode door shorted to ground and or stuck I checked the electrical circuit from the control head to the mode actuator No problem I than checked to make sure the mode door wasn’t jammed or stuck It wasn’t This confirmed the mode actuator was the problem This is why there was a diagnostic charge I don’t guess I test

Marty and Missy are THE. BEST. An HONEST and KNOWLEDGABLE auto mechanic. Correct diagnosis the first time which means you do not have to take your car back over and over to get the problem fixed. Highly recommend, contact them, you will be happy you did.

Marty is the fastest working and most honest mechanic I have ever taken a car to. I first brought my old car in a year ago (190000 mile chevy impala) to see what cost to repair would be - tells me I have a blown piston, he tells me where to get the top dollar for my old car (got $2200 for that POS!), and checked out 2 cars I was looking at buying. All this without paying a cent. Every other time Ive taken my new car or my gfs car, he gives us the best prices weve ever gotten for maintenance. Best part is, he is really smart, and works really, really fast. The guy doesnt waste any time, yours or his.

I took two cars to Marty for pre-purchase inspections and he gave me the honest truth. One car failed before he even did the preinspection .. He referred to that same make, model and year that he has personally worked on with the same reoccurring issue and even showed me and informed me how expensive they are to mantian. I found a 2nd vehicle a few hours later and while test driving it with an employee of the car lot, I dropped back by to see if he could check that car out. He managed to squeeze me in (which he definitely did not have to do). He extensively looked the 2nd vehicle over, checked the electronics, tires, undercarriage and things that a professional mechanic should do. He took notes and was very thorough. The vehicle passed with 2 minor issues that are a quick fix. A ball joint screw and a left fender. I recommend Oakland Auto for professionalism, service, attention to detail and timeliness.

Took the car here for problem w/actuator valve, charged me $127.00 to tell me the actuator valve needed to be replaced.
