Having recently moved into the area I was unaware of the emissions testing requirements for license plate renewals, never having previously had to do so. I was scrambling to get my car tested so I could renew in time. It was so fast and easy here and conveniently they let my kids who I didnt have time to arrange for someone to watch stay in the car while I stood right outside of it. Great experience!

Had a really great experience yesterday getting my vehicle emissions test at WJ Kuhn Automotive Center located in Oak Creek. I was able to sit in a nice air-conditioned waiting area and relax until my turn. The woman conducting test was very personable and kind. Overall great experience.

Unfortunately they dont have less than 1 star. Took my sons truck there for an alignment and emissions test. I had to call them after a day and a half to find out if it was done. Was lied to and told some of the front end was not adjustable. Came to pick up the truck, the front end alignment was worse. They said they would do it again and I could pick it up the next day. Was called that it was done. No one was there at 4:30 on a Friday when they were supposed to be open till 5. Right from tire was WAY out of specifications and both front fenders were covered with grease and dirt from the Mechanics hands. I would not call them technicians, they arent qualified enough. Still waiting to hear from them how they would like to rectify this situation. So heres an update. Took our truck to a different service garage. The technician there said the upper control arm bolts on the right side were left loose. That is a dangerous accident waiting to happen. I will NEVER recommend anyone to have their vehicle serviced there. Theyre alignment machine being out of calibration has nothing to do with negligence.

I had a vehicle emissions problem. They replaced the defective part and unfortunately NAPA gave them a defective part. They got on this right away and got the original factory part. The vehicle passed emissions just in time to renew my plates. Great job they did and I highly recommend WJ Kuhn for your automotive needs.

I came here for an emission test. My dad came here for years and years, said its the place for tires! Very professional gentlemen at the front counter. I drive up to get an emissions test on my car. I was quite pleased when I saw the “mask required” sign prominently on the door. When I walked in, it was a completely different story. Neither of the people behind the desk had a mask on. I walked right out.

Always had outstanding service and professionalism from W.J Kuhn. Until this last time when clock was not reset, a water bottle was left in the car, drivers seat pushed way back and leaned back. Cant say Im 100% certain oil was change no window sticker, computer not reset and oil looked dirty on dip stick.

Went here for DMV services and they were fast and efficient. I would definitely consider going back for other car needs. Thanks!

I had problems on my Mitsubishi which seemed prominently to originate from electrical work due to the lack of power/function to the ecu. We told them this and that we thought it was something electrical. We towed in the car ourselves and where very surprised when they say the engine seized (basically means we would need a new engine which who knows how much it costs). Seized engine would seem like the least likely thing to happen so we had our doubts and decided to check the car ourselves. Could u believe the engine turned over very easily and it wasnt seized? Its almost as if they where trying to scam us of our money. checking if the engine turns over via manually turning the crank is extremely easy and very very hard to miss even amongst entry level technicians. The people at the door seemed pretty ok but the technician trying to scam us completely ruined the entire experience. Go here for very minor things like obd2 but stray away from anything beyond that.

Had to take my car back 3 times for check engine light. They replaced my catalytic converter that was still under manufacture warranty for almost another year.. the young man who took care of my car clearly didnt know what he was doing. Finally took my car to the dealership 2 countys away. They started that if the person fixing my car at Kuhn knew his job he would never have changed me $1100 for a service that should have been free. Wondering if Kuhn will be an upstanding company and refund my money or just say oh well sucks to be you? So much for supporting local businesses.

Super fast with emissions testing

WJ Kuhn has done work for me four times: Lower control arm, tires, brakes, O2 sensor. All the work was performed quickly and correctly.On another occasion, I had work done by a different shop and my car was making a weird noise upon braking. I took it back to that other shop and they couldnt figure out what was wrong with it. At that point I took my car to WJ Kuhn and they quickly diagnosed and fixed the problem.I would recommend WJ Kuhn to anyone who needs a work done on their vehicle.

Went here a few months ago to see if there were oil leaks as I was told by a oil lube tech at Valvoline that I had a oil leak. Kuhn replaced valve covers on the car and said there were no visible leaks I even went back again another day to have it rechecked, rewind 3-4 months later I found out at another car shop that I do have an oil leak after all. I will be getting it fixed at another shop $1,000 later but at least it’s getting done and I’m receiving great service else where.

We were treated very poorly by WJ Kuhn Automotive. My husbands truck needed service and they were reccomended. We were quoted just under $1100 by Brady and when the work was completed the final bill was almost $1500. This difference was never communicated prior to completion and when we inquired at pick up we were told by a very rude young lady that we were never given an amount of $1100. She had extremely poor customer service skills and argued with us rather than getting the person who had quoted the costs for service. We will not reccomend or use this business again.

WJ Kuhn gave us a $1,332.24 bid to fix one of our work trucks. We agreed to have the work done. Our employee drove it for roughly 10 minutes and the light was back on. We brought the truck back and the owner Scott said it would be an additional $1,049.38 to fix it. He personally gave me his word that the light would not come back on after the additional work. After about two weeks he informed me the truck was not worth fixing and should be junked. So the truck we paid them $1,332.24 for and they wanted an additional $1,049.38 is now junk. They didnt even want to put the truck back together because the engine now was broken. The owner Scott who gave me his word that he would fix the truck and promised we would not have to pay the additional $1,049.38 to have the truck fixed is now sending us to collections for the money. Good luck with that.

Have brought my cars to WJ Kuhn for years now; each time nothing but a great experience. The Service manager was kind, and honest in his estimate, unlike a lot of the other shops in the area looking to make some extra $$$ off of you. Highly recommend WJ Kuhn if you need your repairs done timely and correctly! It will save you the headache and an extra visit!

When I went there to get the emmissions inspection there was no line, just pulled my car into the garage and she hooked up the machine right away. I was done un less than 10 minutes.

With absolutely no one in the parking lot, having been at this location a dozen times over the years I pulled my car into the emission testing stall and went into the front office to find the testing fellow. While I was walking towards the office, someone pulled into the lot and allowing ladies first I allowed her to walk into the office in front of me. She was also looking to get an emission test. I was told to get my car out and read the sign to come to the office first by the manager - even though the person who walked in front of me said I was first. The actual young man who tests your car is great. Very nice gentleman. If this is how the manager treats people, I have to wonder about what happens if you question a service issue with your car?

Weve been using W.J. Kuhn for about 3 years now, and couldnt be happier. We were referred to them by one of there long time customers and so happy we were. Great service! Its such a good feeling to finally know exactly who we can trust with our car service needs!

I had a 94 civic that they told me was in great condition when I had them check the emissions. Then everytime i brought it back for anything some else would go wrong and break down on my car, they put new breaks in once and didnt tighten them and I went though an intersection and couldnt stop because of their incompetence. Scam artist at their best. Or should I say worst. And they take weeks to even figure out whats wrong with the car or look at. Thanks for nothing guys!

Honest and Reliable!I know nothing substantial about cars. I came in inquiring about the grinding rotor and was given best case and worse case cost situations. I wondered if it was going to be the worst case only because that meant more money, however that wasn’t the case at all and only sold me what I needed. Plus, I was fit in at the very last minute. I’m very picky about who I do business with but these guys make me want to return to them for future business. Thanks again guys.

My car would not start so I had it towed to Kuhns. I informed them it could not be my battery because it is only 2 years old with an estimated 10 year life. That afternoon I called to see what the diagnosis was and they said everything tested normal so they charged my battery. I went to pick up my car and asked if there was a warranty on their work because I know it is not the battery. The said they would take care of it if it didnt work after I left so I drove the car back to work, turned it off and tried to start it again and it wouldnt start so I called them. They came to my job and checked it out, no it wouldnt start, so they towed it back to their shop.The next day they replaced the starter.I was concerned they would roll the cost of the tow into the repair but they did not. Plus everyone involved in this was very nice and helpful.However occasionally when I try to start my car it does not start so something is still wrong.I have lost confidence in their ability to repair my car.

Quick friendly service for emissions test.

Have been using WJ Kuhn for several years and always happy with their service. Recently had a knocking sound coming from engine and left it there for them to look at. I received a call back that the motor needed to be replaced. Bad news but Brady had already reached out to the dealer and determined it was under warranty and let them know the car would be coming in. He did all of the work to make it a very simple process at the dealer. Big thanks to Brady and the whole crew at WJ Kuhn.

My girlfriend just recently took her car in for repairs. I was worried when taking her car in that she might be overcharged or not get very good service, but they explained exactly what was wrong with the exhaust and what parts were damaged. They scheduled the repairs and were done within a couple of hours of taking the car in. The gave an invoice that had the labor costs and the parts priced out, which were priced accordingly with normal going rates. Even priced these guys against auto-repair estimates and they were cheaper. Checked out the exhaust repairs (new catalytic converter, flex pipe, and O2 sensor) and everything was in perfect shape, no reused parts of any kind. This was kind of a test run as we havent had repairs done at this shop before, but we will definitely be coming back and recommending this shop.

Its irritating that the only ermission testing hours are during business hours, even though Kuhns is open for service with later hours. So basically people that have to work are out of luck! Not even on Saturdays!

Took my car in for some diagnostic testing because the check engine light was on. They did some scans, found the problem, fixed the problem, and all is well. Polite staff. They dont give you a run around with repairs. Highly recommend.

They looked into my issue. After them telling me what the issue was they gave me a price that was astronomical. I could not accept it and then the guy name Scott the owner very RUDELY yelled at me and spoke down on to me as if I was a useless dollar to him. He then insisted to charge me $40 for the guy taking a look at it. I asked Scott why I was not informed I would be charged for this service and he basically told me how stupid I was and that his guys need to get paid for their services. I cannot believe this is how I was spoken to after I declined their offer and could not afford their prices. I will never go back here ever again.
