They definitely rip you off, took my car here 3 weeks ago to get its first failed test in its life, 55 dollars no retest. Take it to another shop and they dont smogg it at all why? Because a computer did not respond, the second place basically check what the could to save me money while the first shop just failey car and charged me. These people are scam artist

Jeff and Omar are awesome. I have been going to these guys for over 5 years now. I own a Chevy Suburban and they are fair priced and explain everything before they do it. There is never an unseen expense with these guys. They have given me awesome customer services and are very friendly and love to joke around. There staff is amazing they know me well. I recommend you go there and try them out.But it is an auto shop - not an up scale department store. If you want fancy - go to the dealership and pay extra. Bottom line!!Thanks North Star Auto!!!!

Jeff Week (Front Counter) 07/07/2017My experience was exceptional from the time I arrived and when I pick up my car.... My issue was that my Toyota wouldnt pass smog. They text me the diagnostic on my vehicle...I spoke with Jeff, he explain what I needed to get fixed the price was reasonable. The car was there overnight for the parts to come in and got a call the job was done the next day. Overall I had a great experience. Great Job guys.

If you wanna get ripped - perfect place. If you saw some special or something - make sure you pitch it right in the face of everyone who is involved with your vehicle otherwise you will never get it. And check 3 times an estimate before sighning - it may be way not what you agreed for or expected. Though they are being polite while ripping you off, so dont worry, youll ease your wallet with smiles.

Before this business was sold it was the best, just left the place needing a Smog, Tires and break work..... I mention Smog and they ran me out of the store as if I wanted a smog test on a P-51. Wish Norm (I think his name was) still owned the place.PS.... none of my adult children, myself or my wife will NEVER ever be back

NORTH HIGHLANDS TIRE PROS nowFirst time I have been a customer at this shop, and they did a very thorough inspection and e-mailed me the report along with recommendations from the service tech. I was already aware of every issue reported, but only needed to get the car running again, so I asked for a quote on that plus fixing the recent fuel leak. It was exactly what I had expected (ignition control module), and the quote seemed a little high, so I checked online to see how much I could get the part for....significantly less. I told Jeff of my findings, so he offered to try and find a less expensive source. Within just a few minutes he called back with a new, much lower quote, but informed me that part had a shorter warranty. I told him that was fine since I was on a limited budget for the repairs at this time. It only took them one day to complete the job, and they even provided drop off and pick up service for me since I live so close. Upon check-out they gave me several valuable coupons, which I will be using within the next few months.

I almost didnt go because of the reviews. Im happy I went they were very helpful not expensive at all for all the warranty you receive and the services was amazing. Thanks Omar and Jeff!

I was told I needed a new ignition on my car. A mechanic came in and said the car starts what are we doing to it. The guy took him outside then came back in. Come to find out later after I had them fix it part of my cars anti theft is to make car stall and it resets later. $800 out of this single moms pocket that I didnt need to spend. Totally scammed.

Well have had a run in with this place before, but since Jeff, a gentlemen who comes into my work seemed to be a nice gentlemen I gave them a second chance. The first time my boyfriend and myself had called and spoke to someone about doing an alignment on our 1995 Miata, we were told they would do it and to come on down and they would help us. When we arrived we where told we would have to wait just a couple minutes while they finished someone else, that was no problem. But after waiting almost and hour and a half we were then told they were no longer going to be able to do it. So now after I have had many converstaions with Jeff when he has arrived to pick his order up at my job I thought I would give them a try since now I need tires for my Scion. I called and got no where with the gentlemen I spoke with trying to get a quote on some tires. When he asked for my tire size I told him I wasnt sure at first but when I then looked and found out I told him and he then went on with something about all sizes are different prices and etc. after not understanding what he was talking about I then asked for Jeff. I was told Jeff was on the phone and Id have to wait when I then agreed to wait I was told he was leaving after the phone call he was on and I need to call back tomorrow. Very unhappy with my experiences and most defiantly wont be returning again.

The worst smog shop in Sacramento . I came in they were friendly at first then within 20 mins they took my car in, spent more than an hour on it just to tell me my car wont pass smog because a check engine light was recently on, when I didnt have a check engine light on for 3 years, anyway he told me to drive about 50 miles and come back, but I still had to pay the $41 in total that I wont be getting back or receiving a retest, I asked them couldnt you guys check if my car was ready prior to the inspection, it would literally take one minute. They said no we dont do that. long story short they were unprofessional and robbed me from my hard earned money. I went to a different smog place on elkhorn afterwards and he checked immediately prior to the inspection took him a minute, I think every smog shop should do this, its very unprofessional to rob customers in the way that happened to me.

The worst place Ive been in 20 years. If you going there for a smog Ive if they see something wrong they sill gonna run the test and then fail you and charge you for it. I will never go there again and if you want to get ripped off then thats the place you go to.
