Was referred by family- I took my Honda in with quite a list of needs. And when something was missed, the new manager Larry went out of his way to ensure it was corrected immediately. Been taking my car here for a while but last few times had been disappointed by Chris. Larry has stepped up to the plate and had corrected the problem that I was left with after Chris said my car was ready. Hmm I like Aamco for my car repairs but I had to take my truck back 3 times last week over a coolant leak with my turbos. The managers are great however the mechanics hmm maybe they need more training.

This is a great business. Chris helped us out tremendously! We took our car in to be worked on and them our hail storm hit. He let us know what needed to be done and waited for us to complete the claim while there. Very nice and professional guy! When we need more car assistance this is where we will be going!

I brought my car in because I was having overheating issues. When I was trying to explain what was happening, the manager cut me off very rudely to tell me that they will find the problem. A few days later they say my car is ready. I pick it up and drive about 2 miles and while Im at a red light my car starts to overheat again, and I end up stranded on the side of the road. I take the car back to them the next day and the manager lies to me saying he watched the technician run the car for an hour with no issues but they will check it out. It turns out there was a leak in the coolant system, which tells me they didnt run the car for an hour like he said. They said they would have the part on a Friday. The following Monday after no word from them, I call to find out when my car will be done. They ordered the wrong part so I have to wait another 2 days. $1000 and a week and a half later I finally get my car back, and its still overheating. I am very unhappy with their quality of work, professionalism, and customer service. The work is under warranty but after being stranded on the side of the road twice, I do not feel confident bringing my car back there.They also said my AC fan clutch is going out, but my car doesnt have a fan clutch. It has electric motors. Just an awful experience.

Chris and his Team were down to earth but very professional. We originally thought it was another issue but they correctly diagnosed the true issues; engine mounts and wheel hubs. Checked a light, swapped a fuse and disconnected a faulty component for me all at no charge. Issue still exists, but most places would charge you 100 bucks just to tell you its broke. Good people.

They said they would work on the transmission of a honda odyssey my step brother brought in at 2:00pm we got there at 4:00pm after calling numerous times not only did they not work on the car at all, but they even assulted him attempted to steal his phone and car ended up breaking the phone and ripped his shirt and damaged the car further after driving away with it. Absolutely horrible people. Please never come here. The cops were called and we are looking to press charges as it stands. Please, please never come here.

I was told by the dealership where I purchased my Acadia that my torque converter needed to be replaced for $3025. Most definitely wanted a second opinion. I came here. Was not the converter at all, but some additive that my transmission needed. It was a $35 fix rather than a $3025 fix, and my Acadia is running great! The guys at AAMCO had replaced the transmission in my husbands farm truck for a reasonable price. I will now be using AAMCO for all my repairs. My local GM dealer cannot be trusted.

Im very satisfied with my experiences here. Ive brought multiple cars here over the last few years, and these guys have always done great work. This shop can do just about anything you need done to your car. And, obviously, they specialize in transmission work. Some shops wont do transmissions at all. The last time I brought a car in here, we were thinking it had a bad transmission. Who knows how much that wouldve cost. But they looked at it and determined that it was another problem, and it only ended up costing a few hundred dollars. Much cheaper than a new transmission. I definitely recommend taking your car here for anything it needs.

Took my Ford E250 van in to have the cylinder head Reman or replaced. Ended up needing replaced. I ordered the head. I was told they would search for a reman head, and two days later they said they thought I was. I dropped it off, with the assurance it would be completed 2 days after receiving the head. 10 days later I called to check the status. Promised it on the following Monday.I called Monday to check the status. I was told they were on track to have it finished that day. Around noon they called and asked if I had the old cylinder head because they forgot to take the alignment pins out. That meant the cylinder head had not yet touched the block. I was promised the next day. The next day I got a call telling me timing chain tensioners are broken. That issue would push it to the next day. Today is that next day. And there is no chance of having it today.It required a call to the regional manager to start getting updates on the status. Im not sure what its going to take to finish this vehicle.Very truly disappointed.

I took my Ford Focus in last week because it had transmission issues. The guy (maybe Larry) didn’t say anything but “We’ll take a look at it and call you back.” The next day-nothing. So I called back and asked. The response I got was “I’m waiting on a call back from our vendor to get the best price.” “The best price for what,” I asked. “A new transmission,” was the answer. “So you checked it out and it’s that bad?” I was assured that I needed a new transmission because they didn’t do rebuilds for that particular kind. Guy said he’d call me back-the next day nothing...again. So I called back and he told me the best price was $4K, and that was without labor. i told him I’d just come pick it up. I dont believe that they really even checked it out. Took it to a dealership and they replaced the command module-runs great. SAME transmission. Won’t be visiting AAMCO again.

Great experience with AAMCO today, I called for pricing on brake work, manager was able give me ball park. But best of all he told me about their Free car check, so they checked for free and found out my exact issues in which I am having them fix. Not many shops check for free now days. I’ve found my place to go from now on.

AAMCO, Chris the manager and their team stand behind their work, what we thought was a warranty issue was actually another issue that AAMCO in Norman found and fixed. We brought in for an issue we thought was from previous work. Crazy is the Manager as soon as we came back in thanked us for coming in and bringing the same issue back. (Not knowing at that time issue was different. He said “we all are not perfect and learn from issues”). Once they checked the truck out, the truck had an completely different problem. Because AAMCO was gladly willing to stand behind their work, We let them fix the new problem. He is right know one is perfect but standing by your work is important.The way AAMCO handled it (with complete positivity) was awesome.

I have had an absolutely horrible experience with this shop. I took my truck in because the engine light was on and the truck was running poorly. They said the cam shaft had a flat lobe. There was a slow down working with may warranty company but after six weeks I finally got my truck back. I picked it up on a Thursday and and by Saturday there was a lot of noise coming from the engine. I was advised to get an oil change at 500 miles and they would cover it. When I set the appointment for a week later I told the service writer about the noise. He said they would check it out. When I picked the truck up I was told, The cam shaft it out performing the valve train. I had a trip planned to go out of town. During the trip the truck started running poorly. Because I didnt want to be without my truck for six weeks again I took it to a different shop. In their diag the found a bent pushrod, a broken supply hose, a broken ignition coil clip, a broken bolt in the exhaust valve train, a rocker completely off an intake valve (which probably led to a bent valve), and a missing bolt from on ignition coil. Again, I was really hoping this was a new set of problems for my truck. Had this all been installed correctly my truck would never have gone to the other shop. Now they want me to pay for the other shop diagnosing their mistakes and pay to have it towed to their shop for proper repairs. I spoke to the GM and by this time I was quite angry. I told him what I expected and he said they would not cover it.I had to go somewhere else to properly diagnose their mistakes and now they feel I should cover it. Very poorly ran operation and very poor service.

Once again I visited AAMCO, They are honest and helpful. What I thought to be a major transmission problem, turned out yo be a broken shifter cable. On the advice from the manger (chris) he towed my car in and his Technician’s diagnosed for free and found the issue quickly.Thank you AAMCO for being so helpful.

Jerry was fabulous. I was driving from Omaha to Phoenix with a stop in Norman to see my grandkids. My engine light went on and it was indicated that a sensor in my transmission was not working. Called shop and Jerry said to bring it in. After checking it he said that I needed a rebuilt transmission (just great). He gave me an estimate and time frame 5-7 days. Told him I had to get to Phoenix to catch a flight out. He had me ready to go in 4 days! I was more than happy.

I don’t even know where to start. Took my Escape into Norman’s AAMCO to have them look at it - I knew something was wrong with the transmission I just didn’t want to face facts. After they looked at it and I got the bad news I literally had a meltdown in the shop. It was right before Christmas and I had several other disasters happening in my life. The front desk was so compassionate and understanding with me!!!! He is awesome! They got my vehicle done in record time and it drives beautiful. He took time to explain everything to me what they did, what to watch for and expect and they did a 10 day check to make sure everything was ok. Coming to Norman from a much smaller town where I knew everyone and had a mechanic I could go to, depend on - I have found that here in Norman now and it is a good feeling to know I have a place I can count on. Everyone here is absolutely awesome and I will absolutely recommend them to anyone. Thanks guys!!!!!

Just had my 3rd service work done to my SUV at this location and again was treated fairly and professionally. Eric and his crew have done a great job and certainly earned a shot at more of my business. The waiting area could do with some updating (better lighting, magazines, charging station, etc.) but it was definitely clean. Overall, thanks and great job!

I came to the AAMCO because I wasnt completely satisfied with the service and pricing of my previous mechanic. I work night shifts as an EMT so I have a very odd schedule, but Eric was extremely helpful and happy to help accommodate me with both mechanical work and scheduling. Im extremely happy with the work done so far, the new clutch feels great to drive. This AAMCO knows good customer service.

A few weeks ago I took my Ford edge into AAMCO with some transmission issues. Jerry had his tech.s do a complete diagnostic. After a few hours, I got a call from Jerry with a full explanation of the problem, the parts needed, and the cost. I gave the go ahead and in a few days I had a like new rebuilt transmission. Complete with a good warranty. There were some other problems that I took issue with. Jerry resolved those problems quickly and professionally. I recently had a trip I had to take and wanted to make sure my car was in top shape for it. The guys at aamco did a complete free check of my car for me. They were honest, professionals and had me in and out quickly. The store was clean and Eric was AMAZING. I was very happy with the service. They were very quick to fix my car, they had excellent customer service, and made sure I was aware of what was wrong and the cost before beginning. I will definitely go back whenever I need anything done on my car!

So this great company has drained my time, energy, and money. We was told from the get go that it would be $3600 to $4200 with 180,000 mile warranty. They ended up telling me it would be $5900 with a 18,000 mile warranty and if we wanted our car to take it some where else it would be $1,200. So after talking to some corporate people we got the transmission for what we signed it would be and a 36k mile warranty but they lied on the warranty and instead of 1 week it took 6 weeks the first time. So we are out of pocket a rental car. Transmission goes back out 3 months later and I ask them to get a manufacture rebuild and the guys(chris) tells me he will and needs a week. So we drop the car off before we go on a 1 week vacation. We get back and the car is still 4 days out and they are rebuilding the transmission for a 5th time. So will be getting a lawyer to recoup some of the $2200 we have spent on a rental car, and 4200 on a transmission rebuild after rebuild.

Chivalry is not dead. On a trip to Chicago getting from hotel to airport a gentlemen gave his seat up on a overcrowded bus. What makes this special is after talking to my husband he over heard this GENTLEMAN Had a mild disability.When we exited he mentioned he was from Aamco Norman Oklahoma. Usually I wouldn’t have remembered this but in what he did, it stuck with me. Thank you Sir.

Even on an icy, winter day the employees were kind, patient and transparent. There was no part of their service that I was not previously informed of and all pricing for parts was researched in front of me. One employee personally drove me to and from my home and even picked up the parts himself because all of the drivers didnt come into work. Their business was fair and I will most likely return when necessary.

I have taken my car to Aamco several times. The work is always done quickly and well. Unlike many garages, the service is not overpriced. Eric is always courteous, friendly, and informative. He is always willing to discuss why a particular repair or maintenance item is needed, and he never tries to push unnecessary work. This place is a real gem.

Had to take my car in because of a noise that was coming from my engine. Chris took care of me and had 2 components replaced in one day! Will definitely be coming back in for later issues!

Why this place only has 4 stars I DONT KNOW! I had a fantastic experience, Melvin and his crew were very helpful and informative as well as the BEST price in town! They replaced my transmission in less than the quoted amount of time and also performed extra work I requested. My truck drives as good as New and has given me ZERO problems. Now with that being said.. I have also taken good care of my vehicle and not ABUSED it such as Ive read on here. I have not taken my truck to the river and abused it so I suspect my transmission should last a long time! The work done was satisfactory and done professionally. Im very pleased with their service and would definitely go back if need be.

I have used this AAMCO twice, and both times my experience was excellent. They call me and ask me for approval at every step of the repair. They inform of all problems but without scare tactics, it’s all broken down into needed now, get it done eventually, and if you feel like it. I never feel like they’re trying to trick me into spending more money like I do basically everywhere else. Definitely go to AAMCO if you’re having trouble, if only for the free total car inspection.

Saturday at 8:47 pm the manager chris ward picked me at the train station then took me ttoo Aamco to pick up my car. Taking about doing anything for a customer. AAMCO isn’t even open on Saturday’s. And I live in Texas, I choose having my car towed to Norman, Ok. instead of Dallas (which is closer) braised on the honesty and sincerity of the manger I felt and knew he would take great care of me and my car.

Very helpful. They went above and beyond to look for an issue I had and then brought me my car when I was stuck at home with the kids and couldnt come and pick it up. Will definitely be back.

My trucks transmission crapped out one day so i took it to this place they replaced the transmission in a fairly quick manner. A few weeks later it wont shift gears so i take it back in to get the problem fixed because it was warrantied. It has been over a month that theyve had it. I call pretty much every day to check on it and noone can say what is wrong with it. Every time I call i get the same thing we will keep you notified and give you a call back. I will wait a day or two and never hear from them. Now they say it is something not covered by the warranty and will cost about $1300 and it still wont be ready for at least a few more days.

DONT GO THERE THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF. THEY DESERVE ZERO STARS!!! My husband got a quote of $3500-3800 dollars to replace the transmission in our 2012 Jeep Patriot.Then when we went back to talk about it all of the sudden it was who did you talk to, when was this, and do you have the print out because we cant even get the transmission for under $8500 dollars and thats the price without labor. My husband and I both thought WTH. And looked all over for the quote could not find it because JERRY said that would be the only way we had a leg to stand on because the quote was still in the computer but he couldnt honor it becuase it would the current date. So the next day my husband goes to a Jeep dealership in Norman and prices it out the quote him to replace the transmission, flush the transmission cooler, replace the alternator, replace the serpentine belt, and including labor was between $3800-3900 dollars. Oh the transmission has a 100 thousand mile warranty.YEAH THE DEALERSHIP, also the dealership said the transmission is $2700-2800 not $8500, so he calls aamco and Jerry tells him that they didnt price it right and the quote is wrong when my husband is looking at an itemized quote. My husband went there believing that they were a trusted company because he and his father has used them for years but they have lost a customer and he will tell anyone he know about this to keep them from being scammed. Like we almost were. Good thing we got a quote first before ever talking to Jerry.
